I especially liked the decorated houses on Calle Granada, and of course the music and light show on James Lex stood out, just like the common xmas light shows you often see in December... but possibly better, with the spooky vibe instead of jolly old saint nick. It's free to register (though the deadline has passed for 2024). But if you want to get in the halloween spirit, participating homes are judged on three different elements: most creative, best use of effects, and scariest decor. And if you simply want to view the homes, they have a map online, as well as an option to tour the homes via cable car wine trolley the days leading up to halloween. This just may be a new annual tradition in Morgan Hill. I sure hope so, as I was impressed and entertained and a little creeped out too.

There are different decor styles through-out the park with different themes. Their decor was super cute from huge tall skeletons, to large pumpkins, and everything in between. There are more spooky lands (not at all scary) to cute fun lands with pumpkins everywhere. They also have a really cute candy land theme called Sweet Tooth Acres and offer trick or treating. They provide orange Jack-o-lanterns bags for collecting candy. They also had activities for little ones set up throughout the park - pumpkin decorating and other small crafts. Not all rides were open when we went on 9/23, but all the major roller coasters were open and wait times weren't super long. It's no longer the scary event, but a great family-friendly option! Lots of kids came in costumes and there were small shows scattered throughout the park at various times.

Diane was right on time to set up the props she brought, which really added to our own set up and made everything look awesome. She was flexible when I mentioned we had people not interested in fully playing or who potentially needed to leave early--but those people ended up staying for the whole game because they were having a great time. The game is set up so everyone present can still feel involved and enjoy figuring out the mystery. When it was done, Diane quickly and quietly had everything packed up and loaded. We've never hired a company for this before but would definitely do it again with The Clue Collective and I feel confident in recommending them to others for a fun and creative activity!

Lace and the entire team of actors arrived on time and quickly got to work organizing the props and selecting guests to assume characters. The clever show proceeded in a smooth and timely fashion. The room was filled with laughter. They created a delightful and engaging evening for everyone present, including the waitstaff. Bravo, Clue Collective!

There's plenty of free parking across the street at DeAnza college. There's also a huge section for kids, plenty of jumpers and crafts. I like how they have a food truck area and a separate area for food vendors. The crowds were smaller than usual due to the weather.

Going inside the building near the koi fish area they have some activities and art even a stage with a show. Outside they have a big stage with different shows. My favorite show is the Taiko Drums. The restrooms are very clean. Parking in De Anza College garage is less hectic and more space if you want to park away from people.

They transform their church parking lot into ancient village of Bethlehem (a lot of sand!) with real actors, animals, activity booths showing life at the time. Free entry and free hot chocolate. We arrived after 8pm so got to check out a few booths and watched the last re-enactment (once every half hour). Overall neat immersive experience, great for families. If parking lot at high school is full, street parking in neighborhood is available.

Attended the Día de los Muertos Festival in St James Park. This is the 7th year they've celebrated…read morethis festival here in Downtown and you can tell they have it down pat. The whole thing was very well organized from the tight security to tons of booths and stuff to keep everyone busy. Here's a quick recap: Admission Free! Nothing beats that. Parking There wasn't any street parking available around St James Park, but there are a few parking garages a few blocks away. There is a light rail stop right in front of St James, so I'd recommend doing that. Location Normally St James Park gets a one star review from yours truly but it's actually a great venue for a festival. All the "Local Outdoor Enthusiasts" are run off to the East Syde of the park and you see hide nor hair of them. Entertainment Lucha libre, Mariachi music, DJs and Aztec dancers. Yeah, they got a little bit of everything. Definitely the highlight of the event. Exhibits Lots of terrific original artwork, face painting booths, jewelry and other miscellaneous local booths (e.g., sports teams, charities, etc). Concessions: Lots of Latin inspired treats and good. From your ubiquitous tacos and burritos to mole and tamales. Security: Plenty of security and SJPD smattered throughout the event. There weren't a tremendous amount of vato locos around but the ones that were seemed well-behaved. However, I was only there until 2:30--so who knows if the cervezas kicked in later, or not? The entertainment and seeing all the cool Día costumes in the crowd was the definite highlight of the day. My only complaint is the event might have outgrown this venue as the walkways became really clogged up as the day wore on. Overall it was a really fun event and I'll definitely be back next year.

I've been wanting to try a sip and paint place and I was so excited when my friend wanted to come…read morehere for her birthday celebration! We were a party of 7, and we don't paint. If we have, it was definitely years ago LOL. It was cool that they had a small bar and drinks were a reasonable price! Our initial impression was that we were kind of anxious, considering our lack of experience, short time frame, and complexity of the painting. However, Heather (our instructor) began the session by explaining that if it's easier for us to just paint whatever we want or not paint at all, that would be fine. We weren't going to do that but having the reassurance made us feel so much more relieved! It was very easy to follow along the steps and it was actually really fun for our group! Towards the end, we did feel rushed because we were past the session and have not gotten to the last steps, but Heather was able to quickly run us through them and then when she finished, we were still free to sit for a bit to finish up the painting. The experience was very enjoyable for my first time here and even though my painting wasn't the best, I would definitely come back!

It was so cute how it was setup, the drink selection was great and I absolutely love that you can bring your own snacks. There were 4 of us so they let us sit on the end and even let us use a side table for all of our snacks. The painting experience was okay, our instructor was soft spoken so it was hard to hear from the other side of the room. Being on the other side of the room also made it harder to see what the instructor was painting. At some points the instructor would stop giving instruction and would just be focused on her painting so we had to just use our own picture reference. She was still sweet and came to check in a few times. Towards the end she came and helped us clean up our pictures or give us some pointers.
