My friend and I got the ticket for 4-7 pm, but it somehow ended before 6pm with one intermission. I wonder if something happened to the performer that day or maybe an emergency. We saw this show in Napa, but it was fantastic! Took Jenbert Jr 1 (almost 6) and Jenbert Jr 2 (3.5). Although both enjoyed it, the younger one got a little antsy after about 45 minutes. No elephants, tigers, or other exotic animals; this one features horses and dogs. There is one clown, and he is not dressed over-the-top in a rainbow wig or heavy makeup. A small, family feel here with acrobats, juggler, tightrope walk, dog show, and banter between the ringmaster and clown. They get plenty of audience participation as well, although it would be more fun to call more kid volunteers onto the stage. Prices are reasonable... I mean, Ringling Brothers is about 3x more expensive, with about the same time length and same acts, packed with more people. I would bring my older one back if she wanted, and I would bring my younger one in about a year. read more

This is a traditional, old world circus. This is NOT cirque, Wringling Bros, etc. There is no mini bike in a hamster wheel or rotating stage. However, this was wonderful. Very small cast. Traditional circus acts you've been seeing for decades. A great excuse to put electronics away and enjoy yourself. Entire cast was sweet. Yes the tickets are expensive but with inflation and the quality of the show, it is worth it. True circus performance is a lost art and these people travel all over to bring. We sourced on the VIP seats and I feel it was well worth it to sit in a chair with a back. I would definitely purely see them a second time if they came to my area. Wonderful show! read more

I've been to this circus at least three times before, at both the Redwood City location as well as in Monterey, and it consistently offers a welcoming vibe that makes you want to smile. This past weekend, we were entertained by the goofy and impressive Nino the clown and adorable and tasteful live animal acts, like performers juggling while standing on a galloping horse. We were also charmed by the vintage circus atmosphere and the way the staff and performers made guests feel like family. In addition, there were snacks, drinks, and souvenirs for sale on site to create a fully satisfying experience for families and individuals in attendance. A few cons... It was difficult to find parking in the area, the seating was very cramped in the rickety bleachers (due to a bigger audience, almost a full house), no diet soda was available at the concessions stand, and the only "restroom" available on site was a single very dirty porta potty. I appreciate the new acts, though I wouldn't have minded seeing a repeat of last year's 2023 show, which I saw in Monterey and liked slightly better. read more

I cannot think of a better way to close the old and ring in the New Year. What a fantastic time at the Zoppe Circus special New Year's show! As an Italian, this was pure nostalgia! Last pic is me with Giovanni (aka Nino), the circus owner from la Bella Venezia. ‍‍‍ Family is felt in the heart. The entire cast IS the show - working concessions one minute, performing death-defying acts the next. Those WOW moments had me on pins and needles, while the comedy breaks had me laughing uncontrollably! What a great Circus! We went with my soon to be 2 yo daughter. She was able to sit through the whole performance. It was fun for all ages, and us adults as well as her were loving it. The circus has very family feel, and we were very happy that circuses like this are still around. There is a little pre-show outside, to be sure to get there when doors open. The main show has two parts with intermission. That was great so we could stretch and run around for a bit. The show has acrobats and horses and dogs and balloons flying in the air...we absolutely loved all about it! To be honest, they could charge much more for what a great show that is. I only hope they are doing well so we can see them again next time again! 5 stars hands down. Would give 10 if I could. A great family circus to entertain those of all ages. I had two young children that I was bringing to see the circus for the first time and I was a little worried that they would have trouble staying put for the duration of the show, given it is about 1.75 hours (with a short intermission). However, the two of them were completely fascinated by all of the acrobatics, horses, and other acts that were displayed during the show, and we had no issues at all getting them to behave. But a tip for anyone out there with youngsters- snacks are key. While they do have a concession stand (buttery popcorn is a must), you're also able to bring your own food and drinks into the show so take advantage of that. You can upgrade to sit in one of the VIP seats ringside or sit on the bleachers, which are not as comfortable but still do the job just fine. All ticket prices are very reasonable given what you are getting in return. Before the show itself, they already had a mini-show outside of the tent with all of the performers in attendance. During intermission, you can pay an additional amount to get a picture with one of their horses. The animals are huge but so soft and well-tamed. What a fun show!!!! Very entertaining for you, your spouse, lovers, kids, step-kids, parents, grandparents, and grandchildren! Maybe even your pets!! Yes, it's for EVERYONE!! At first, I thought it was lame since they started the show outside, and there were people squishing and coughing around me. I was also uncomfortably cold. I couldn't even freaking hear what they were saying on stage! I was so relieved when they opened the tent for all guests to sit on the stands. I couldn't get front row seats online, but that's okay! We were able to see the show just fine, except when my view was partially blocked by a pole. Fortunately, I was able to move since you could sit anywhere on the stands. There were many ooohs and aaahs, as well as uncontrollable laughter! My fave was the dogs jumping on hoops and horses. I was amazed by the flexible acrobats and juggler! How could he juggle ten or more balls?? I'm not sure how many, but there were a lot! For a fee, they took a picture of the four of us with the famous horse, Picolino. Was that his name? We came to the circus yesterday with three families and three young kids (ages 1.5 to 4). We were the first ones to enter the tent. The seating is made of tall bench-style rows with wide gaps and no stairs, so you have to climb up each bench. As we tried to go up, my daughter nearly fell through one of the gaps -- it's genuinely unsafe for small children. Because of that, we chose to sit together in the middle row, leaving three entire empty rows in front of us. We were sitting tightly together, not taking extra space. Someone from the staff asked us to move up, and we explained that the benches were unsafe for our kids and that adults and older kids should be the ones climbing higher. Then the person who appeared to be the owner or announcer came over and started shouting at us, saying things like "This is my circus, this is my show," and threatened to make us leave if we didn't move. His tone was aggressive and completely uncalled for, especially in front of small children. I honestly started shaking -- it was that upsetting. One of the adults in our group asked him to please calm down because of the kids, but he continued. Ironically, the show wasn't even full. Many benches stayed empty throughout. There was absolutely no need for the confrontation. This was supposed to be a fun family outing, and instead it turned into a really frightening and stressful experience. I would never return. The way we were treated was rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary, and the seating setup is unsafe for young children. read more

They visit Redwood City every year. We visit them when they are in town. Kids started to watch their shows when they were toddlers. We kept it up over the years. So excited to see them back last year post COVID. It is not as over the top as cirque du soleil. But this is one of the rare family style circuses that give you the authentic experience. Some parts are cute, A few are pretty impressive. Some are ok. Bleachers are very uncomfortable. It's a bit slow in parts. They had medium popcorn, cotton candy, Carmel apples, and a drink. All were $10 a piece. A $10 glass of lemonade from a thermos like you'd find at a lemonade stand. I was shocked and said, "Never mind" after finding out the cost. Luckily I asked how much it cost, because she wasn't going to volunteer the price, and wasn't thrilled when I was shocked at the price. If you do a family pack it feels like the price is worth it, if not it's too much. Cute idea, but can be a bit costly. (Kids can take a pic with the goats at intermission for a "small" fee. I read it was $25. Having said that my little kids really enjoyed it. So if you don't mind the cost, then go for your little kids (under 12) they will likely enjoy it. It has taken me over a decade to finally go and now that I finally went I'm kind of sad that I waited that long! This is a family run circus and they know what they are doing! They have really entertaining acrobats and an adorable baby ... the clown of course is the star of the show he is really funny and interact with the crowd so I can only imagine how each show differs from the next. I specifically bought it for a late time to be close to the stage. But the seating arrangement needs to be better. When the actors stand with their butts towards you, it's not very pleasant and you can't see what's going on, the children stood up and stood behind the people so that they could see. Simple, Fun-filled evening by the Zoppe entertainers! Some of the jokes might not be socially appropriate like the clown would pull up some random audience guy's shirts and laugh at their bellies. Gained some laughs from the polite audience, but entirely unnecessary. A performer pulled the horse's leg to make him curtsy. Yes. Horses might have the flexibility for that but totally disturbing. Spinning the poodles in metal circles when you could literally see their legs shivering. Above were the aspects they could improve on.
