October 2025.... Another Halloween season of driving from Sacramento all the way to San Jose to experience Bernal Scream again! We're pretty dedicated fans of this Haunt and they never disappoint! The props are really well executed. Actors stay in character and really perform in a way that is curated well. Security measures are present and it always feels like a safe environment despite the screams and fun. I enjoyed 2024' location, I enjoyed 2025' location... I have one gripe that..... might give away one of the areas during the walk-thru experience.... For 2025... It was held at the fairgrounds and you get your tickets, walk inside to the lined waiting areas and wait to be called for entry. Once we entered the haunt, just the 2 of us, it was a series of different rooms to walk thru, experience the "theme" of each area, actors are spread out within the venue for that extra scare... One of my hesitations with any haunt.... it's not the actors, props, setups, or darkness...... it's usually having to face the unknown of what might be a scare presented as a phobia. For 2025, there was an area that had from what I could see.... like plastic prop style snakes, and that's a real phobia for people. Obviously, this is my issue to deal with personally, but it would be nice to not encounter a snake effect during haunts. That room scared me the most, and although I knew logically they weren't real, it's a real phobia, a real scare, and an elevated heart rate that I didn't want to experience. We will continue to support and enjoy Bernal! The team does amazing work! But please..... if reading this, take that into consideration. Absolutely incredible! This haunted house had me scared cheatless from the moment I walked in! Every corner had something unexpected, fun, and totally thrilling. The energy, creativity, and detail put into every scene made it feel so real. it's an experience you have to see for yourself. It's not just scary, it's entertaining, dynamic, and full of surprises from beginning to end. A perfect event for the whole family or a night out with friends. Totally worth every penny. Got the VIP tickets to Lucifer's Wrath on halloween night, absolutely necessary and worth the cost to skip the line. It was about a 20 minute wait with just 10 people in front of us... the general admission line appeared to not be moving at all. Lack of direction and no signs to tell you where the VIP line is, but it's easy enough to figure out that it's the shorter line (on the left). The haunt was scary, great sets with moving parts, the actors and their costumes were quite frightening, but it was pretty short, so I'm not sure the value was quite there. Also, the spirit of halloween was surprisingly missing at the event, on the actual holiday. The one staff member managing the lines, and checking tickets before letting groups inside, was not in costume, there were no props, decor, or actors outside for photo ops or to engage visitors, and there were just two lonely tents at the corner of the site, one selling tickets, the other snacks (hot dogs and nachos). I've been to a lot of haunted houses. Nothing too unique about this one, but we still had fun. 3 stars for the full experience (4 stars for the haunt itself). read more

The family atmosphere was so inviting. The cast were very professional and very scary.

We went last night and it was incredibly disappointing. Not sure if it's because we went early in the season? We left feeling completely ripped off. Wasn't scary at all. Despite us being the only ones there, the actors seemed really lazy... none of them timed their jumps right and the acting just seemed really lackluster compared to other haunted houses. It was like most of them weren't trying at all. I wouldn't be leaving this yelp review if it weren't for the obscene total price for this below average experience. $20 for parking, $60 for 2 tix, and $5 for a locker since they tell you at the door you cannot bring in any bags (even small handpurses) for some reason. We have gone to bernal scream for the previous years, and the experience always much better without all the extra charges. I feel that the actors maybe felt they could reserve energy since few people were there and it was early in the season... but for a customer experience it felt unacceptable for such high charges to not get scared once. read more

We went last year and were disappointed. We paid extra to not wait, but still had to wait just as long. Weeknights you don't need the fast pass ticket thing. It was ok, but super expensive for what it was. Definitely not enough actors. Some of the neighborhood haunted walks in Almaden/Santa Teresa on Halloween night, which were free, were better. Went in fearless and came out with tears in my eyes from screaming and laughing from the terror. It felt like it lasted forever and I couldn't wait to make it to the end because I was so scared. Sensory effects were SO COOL. Actors were great. The owner was very helpful when we had to get out of line since we had the online tickets and you need the physical ones, instead of waiting again he took us to the front and even gave us some cool posters. Tip: Gates open ay 7. Starts at 7:30 Tip 2: Stand in the back of a group if you want more scares. The staff was really nice and the actors did a really good job! The actors even came out right before they opened and entertained everyone in line. They allow pictures if you ask. The haunted house was pretty good considering it was set up in a parking lot! Lots of rooms with different themes, cool decorations, scary moving props. We were a group of 4, and the actors did a lot of the scarying from behind after we pass them. I thought it was scary! (but i get scared easily haha) My friends said it wasn't too scary for them. We did wish it was longer considering the price. Probably less than 5 min to get through all of it. Overall a fun first experience, but I don't think I'll be back. read more

Ha well there was a guy with a chainsaw yelling at me and a couple guys even out in the parking lot scaring peoplehad to check this place out. I wasn't disappointed. They had plenty of great scared and well done scenes to walk through. There was so much detail. I was impressed.i actually jumped once so well done. The Bay Area is severely lacking in haunted houses. This is the highest rated local one we could find, but there wasn't much to be scared by unfortunately. It was too expensive for the low quality of frights. It was mostly walking through rooms of props with one scare actor here and there. Also agree with other reviewers on despite buying tickets in advance still waiting awhile to get in, and the length of the haunt is really short. You're in and out. There was one actor scaring people in the line. He got some people but it was only one. And the ticket takers weren't in costume. read more

Not worth the price of admission. It was boring. They should only let 2 people in at a time so as not to spoil the frights. Navigation through the attraction wasn't clear. It wasn't scary. We bought tickets in advance but still waited almost 45 minutes to get in. There wasn't a long line at all, but still took a long time to get in. Seems like they were co trolling the flow a little too tightly. I thought for sure the time inside had to be at least 20-30 minutes based on how long it took to get inside, but I think we were in and out within 5-7 minutes. There were some good "jump scares" but nothing crazy. I would've thought for the price and wait, the experience would've been worth it, but sadly it was "ok" at best. read more

If you want to try something new and don't mind spending a bit more money, then this Haunted House is for you! This small haunted house is short but it's partially worth it. The mazes are creative and there are actors in every section! If you don't like waiting or spend money on VIP lines, get there early like at opening time! I recommend you buy tickets in person to avoid those crazy online fees. It's a good haunted house to try for the first time but I think one time is enough for me. read more

Pretty small long wait times if not VIP for a less than 6 min walk through scare . We had general admission which was $25 we were told the GA line was a 2/3 hour wait while the VIP for $40 was 30 mins . Very disappointed, poor organization. Cheating with vip tickets, they lie on their website about the priviledges. When we came the main line (for standard tickets) was really long and we were told by the ticket seller that it will take at least 2 hrs to wait there. So we decided to upgrade to vip tickets. The vip line was really short (like 10 people ahead of us). However, we were waiting in the vip line more than 40 minutes. The standard tickets line became 4 times shorter during this time, it went quite fast, while vip went very slow. If we were waiting in the standard line it would take about the same amount of time to get inside. I even went to the manager and told how much time we are already waiting in the vip line and that it goes very slow comparing to standard line, he said he cannot do anything about that. Also they claim that vip access will give: "Only go with people in your own group with the same ticket type". However, when we came inside there were many people there, actors haven't paid any attention to us, as they were busy with other people. How comes? Why you lie on your website then? If they claim that vip tickets give priviledges (they specifically write on their website which ones), they have to make sure they provide these priviledges and pay more attention to control that. Otherwise it is called "cheating". Also there were 3 guys standing behind us in the line. They were so drunk that they could barely stand on their legs. I was sure that they won't be let to go inside, as it is dangerous for other visitors and even for actors. However, when we went out of the hounted house, we noticed that the guy on the entrance happily let them in. I feel so sorry for the people who were inside there together with them. read more

Had an absolute blast at The Bernal Scream with my daughter and friends. My daughter, 10, is absolutely terrified yet enthralled by this genre and Ive been trying to work with her to overcome her fears. Unfortunately, she wasnt able to do this alone - even with her daddy to protect her - so we enlisted the coolest and more kind owner / Monster Master Ive met in years! Mike! He was so considerate that he walked along with us and made sure the "fright" was tuned down. Not to mention his generosity in awarding my daughters bravery with an amazing sticker and poster! The actors, set, and overall design was just fabulous! We loved everything and how professional the actors were both in an out of character. Though I am not frightened by these environments, its a haunted experience I would 12 out of 10 recommend! read more

This haunt is awesome! So glad they are back this year after the Covid time off. They are located by KFC on blossom hill! Highly recommend. Super well-done haunted house. Every room was amazing because the actors were totally in character and did a great job. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. So glad to have a legit haunted house in the neighborhood. I had a great time pushing my sister in front of me to protect me, basically sacrificing her. She screamed the whole time and asked to be let out half way but I made her continue. It's super worth it and you're supporting a local father and son. Just do it. I'm glad I did. :) read more

I may be biased since haunted houses are not scary for me, I just go because friends/family feel like it might be fun. The main reason this place is receiving 3 stars is because of the price. $20 for a 5 minute walk through is a bit ridiculous. The lady at the front told us if we walk slowly through it, it should be about 10-15mins to get through the whole thing. We walked as slow as possible and didn't use the "chicken doors" and 5 minutes is all it took. I understand that the tent rental and stuff might be expensive so they need to pay for it somehow, but $20 for the ticket too much. Great America is $35 and you get 5 haunted houses. The staff were nice people though, and they did a great job with props, and the actors tried to be as scary as possible. Overall an ok experience. read more

I was not to convinced at first when seeing this place because of the location and size of it, but given I love haunted houses I wanted to at least try it out. I go to purchase a ticket and it was $20, i questioned the workers because $20 seemed like a lot for this place. After a few mins of convincing I decided to give it a try. Hands down the scariest haunted house I've been to in my life! It was so realistic, the costumes and props and effects were amazing and there was a moment I was really terrified as if they were going to hurt me for real! Employees were beyond nice and even let my friend go again with me because he couldn't make it through alone and left half way. They all really wanted everyone to enjoy the experience. Whoever did this is a genius! There needs to be more of these houses around and beats great America by a landslide! These guys gave me the longest and most terrifying ten minutes of my life! This is a well-run, well-executed, well-done-everything kind of a haunted house. They only let a small group in at a time, which is a huge plus in my opinion, because you get to experience the whole thing without bumping onto other people or getting distracted by their screams. It was on the pricier side, and we had to wait for about an hour to be admitted inside, but it was all worth it. You'll have an unforgettable experience while also supporting a local family business at the same time - win-win! The outside looks like it will be okay, once you get inside that's when you really see what they vision come to life. The staff is really nice from start to finish. It was worth every penny I paid to go into this haunted house. I'll admit that I had no idea what this white tent pitched outside of Target at Oakridge Mall was. I thought why in the world would anyone go to a haunted house at a mall? Needless to say, I was reminded again to never judge a book by its cover. I was pretty surprised at the awesome yet scary effects and setup in each of the rooms as we walked through. Only thing I thought needed to be added were arrows or something posted on the walls to direct where to walk to next. I'd recommend going here over the Winchester Mystery House Flashlight Tour. The first time I've ever heard about this scream house was Halloween day. My fiancé and I were planning to go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal studios this past halloween weekend, but we couldn't make it to socal because he ended up getting sick. So, our alternative was to stay local and find something else that can scare us. He looked up Haunted house on yelp and found this place. Little did we know, we just lived down the street from it. The scream house was pretty much in their whole side yard and backyard. They're very accommodating. They had drinks and food that you can buy while you wait. The tickets are free, but they accept donations. The wait was about 1.5 hours to 2 hours, BUT it was worth the wait! Before you start they let you know that you are being recorded, running is not allowed, and that if you don't touch them they won't touch you. Even with knowing that they won't touch you, it was STILL a GOOD SCARE. I highly recommend it for those that have fun getting scared or enjoy horror movies because I definitely thought I was in a actual horror movie myself. lol I highly recommend making a trip to this scream house! :D read more

The employees are all very friendly, happy, and helpful. There is even a crossing guard to make sure pedestrians in the parking lot cross safely. The experience was awesome. Scared the socks off my teenage niece! She loved it! Will be a new tradition. :) read more
