Such a cute mom and pop coffee shop in glen park! Get the mocha almond latte or ask for any latte with almond syrup - it's SOO good. 10/10 will be back :)

It's seems the parks in San Francisco are good places to eat. Although my neighborhood has some dog parks where the dogs eat there is a park that also attracts us humans and it's also a neighborhood park. In the Glen Park neighborhood in San Francisco you will find a spot where the neighbors congregate to grab espressos along with their delicious crepes at Higher Grounds Coffee House. I acknowledge that the internet and social media still exist but I kept this spot under wraps like a crepe for years. There is limited seating on the weekends and it's the neighborhood original IYKYK spot in San Francisco which closes by 3pm. I usually have their vegetarian pesto crepe which had mushrooms , pesto feta and jack cheese and it's so tasty. From the walls to the roof this spot is filled with lots of charm. First the roof inside is covered with real coffee bags. The walls have interesting art of local San Francisco businesses . The good vibes here is a reflection of the neighborhood. It's a hidden gem on Chenery and the cross street of Diamond. Whether you are around the diamond of Oracle Park or at the Glen Park neighborhood on Diamond street there are good drinks and food gems at the parks of San Francisco. Higher Ground Coffee House is where " a little nice place to eat" is their manifesto and where you can start the day off with a cup of espresso You can eat inside, take it to go in a box or eat it al fresco, I recommend the crepe with feta and jack cheese , mushroom with pesto

Rating this place pretty highly. I ordered the pesto mushroom crepe and it was incredible. The mushrooms were cooked to absolute perfection, melty cheese and the boldest pesto flavor. Couldn't have asked for a better crepe. The potato's were soft boiled, instead of crispy but still very good. I've truly never had a side salad like the one that comes with the savory crepes. Overall the aesthetic is gorgeous, rustic, vintage, classic, the service is friendly and the food is incredible. Highly recommend

Delicious hot off the grill savory crepes and sweet crepes in a cozy, rustic cabin feel like restaurant with large windows to people watch. Portions are huge and cooked and served with lots of love.

Chai Latte - 2 stars. This was over-sweetened, & had no foam/texture. Thu lunch 2023-12-21

Cute local spot. My food was good, but my chai latte was not great. THE WAIT None on the Thursday before Christmas at 10:30am. There is seating for maybe 14 people inside, and my friend and I got the last table for two. THE SERVICE One sweet old man taking orders and making everything. The food took a while but it was totally understandable! THE COST $21.85 total including tax/tip for a chai latte and crepe. You can pay on Venmo and add in separate tip. THE FOOD * Chai Latte - 2 stars This was over-sweetened (coming from a sweet tooth), and there was no foam or texture. Not worth getting this. * Blintz Crepe - 3.5 stars Great crepe and ricotta cheese. The strawberries weren't fresh (either canned or frozen/thawed).

Back for a mocha before a hike from Glen Park BART on a lovely Sunday morning! Note: cash or Venmo only.

Homey local cafe situated in the corner. Feels like being in some grandparents' home; the owner is a one man show who does everything - order, cook, clean. I had a savory crepe which comes with small potatoes and green salad. Wonderful visit to soak in the neighborhood flavor.

Delightful neighborhood spot in Glen Park. At 8am on the dot, a group of elderly neighbors began gathering and chatting with one another. I felt quite sheepish taking out my laptop. The Florentine crepe I ordered was also delicious. Cash is preferred, though you can also pay with Venmo.

If you're in the Glen park area, We highly suggest you visit "Higher Grounds Coffee House!" On the corner of Diamond and Chenery this place has taste that reminds you of home and a vibe that feels the same. Small and Comfortable and packed with delicious food. The chef made our food with love although it was one person cooking, he moved with efficiency and speed. My wife had the "Canneloni with a Borgia" to drink and I had the "Chicken Delight with a Au Lait" to drink and the food was hot and delicious! We highly recommend supporting and tasting this place for yourself!

Wow what a cool gem of a find in Glenn Park. Conveniently closes to Bart and has an amazing selection of breakfast dishes to choose from. It's the perfect neighborhood coffee stop too. Not many seats inside but has 3 tables in the street that are perfect for sunny days. The allá toscana was phenomenal and was a total change up to the ordinary breakfast egg plate you find at most places. I ordered it with eggs and it included Kalamata olives, avo, mozzarella , tomatoes, olive oil, sour cream and just really surprised me how well it came together. The eggs were cooked perfectly. It's served pretty much like an omelette. It comes with potatoes and a salad along with pre buttered toast which I appreciated the nice attention to detail. It's massive in size and could totally be shared. They only take cash or Venmo and only one guy was working but he took care of everyone quickly and with amazing service. Definitely check out this place if you

Like everywhere else in SF, you have to pay for street parking but it's free after 6pm! The vibes inside are of a typical coffee shop and there is a good amount of tables and seats! The barista makes each drink one at a time, so it could take a while to order and get your drinks, but it just shows that they are very intentional with their drinks! I was super excited to find out that Ballast Coffee is actually a Filipino coffee shop that serves Barako Coffee, which I believe they source from the Philippines. They also sell barako bean roast blends for $20 in case you wanted to make it at home! Since they use Filipino barako beans, I had to order their Ube iced latte and Ube hot chocolate! The coffee had a slightly fruity yet chocolatey undertone that made it really delicious with the Ube! I do think that the coffee had a lighter taste to it, so it let the ube taste stand out more. My favorite was the Ube hot chocolate because it was super decadent and warming! I'll definitely be back at Ballast Coffee to study more and to also try their Ube Mocha as well as other drinks!

Java On Ocean Coffee is a classic San Francisco coffee place which has much more than coffee to order. There is a selection of savory breakfast items, sandwiches and smoothie! The café was fairly packed with nearby Riodan High School students studying about American history "New Deal" with great enthusiasm and laughter!
