I've been treating myself to breakfast sandwiches these past few months sometimes. Cup Cafe in SF was one of the first ones I tried. Wish the bagel was a little more toasted, but loved the melted cheese. Chai latte was fine. The guy running the shop was very nice and noticeably super careful. The shop is very close to Glen Park BART so very convenient if you want to grab a quick breakfast on the way to work. read more

This is a lovely spot to have a coffee and a pastry in the sun ( or inside ) We had a new puppy with us yesterday and today; outside rewarding her with treats for sitting and enjoying the coffee (our treat) was the order of the day for us. This coffee spot is top notch! A+ I got the The Embarcadero sandwich - Turkey, provolone, lettuce, tomato with a slammin pesto aioli on a nice fresh Ciabatta. Definitely bangin! She got tomato, cucumber & cream cheese on an everything bagel. We were both delighted. Ice coffees were killer & the couple running the place were super sweet. They received a large order right before ours & they gave us each a flan for the wait, which wasn't even that long. Stoked to have this spot in the neighborhood & cant wait to come back & support. I tried the Iced coffee it was very sour and tasted like Italian vibe ish. Somewhat blue bottle ish. Cold brew was not bitter or a little plain but strong. I liked that. Cozy neighborhood coffee shop run by the nicest people. They are always happy to see us, even though I wouldn't call us regulars -- we stop by maybe on a monthly basis. The owners are very friendly and grateful for patronage, like to make conversation, and give a few extra goodies from time to time. I'm a bit picky, so my favorite is the Hayes Valley sandwich. When I ask for the sandwich without cheese and mayo, they frequently give me extra avocado to make up for it. They also use the most delicious multigrain or 21-grain bread, which I have now found at Safeway as well but still prefer to order from Cup anyway because they deserve even more business. read more

Quick take: Cutest little cafe This is one of the cutest little cafes. The couple who works here are the friendliest people. Greeted by the most hospitable smiles. Such a cute little cafe run by a friendly couple. We recently moved into this area and I decided to give this place a try for my lunch. I went around noon and it was pretty quiet around that time. I was greeted very pleasantly by the owner. I ordered a latte and the sunset sandwich. He immediately made a latte for me and handed it over so I can enjoy it while I wait for my sandwich. It was amazing to see the couple work so diligently and with such enthusiasm. The latte was just perfect and I loved the sandwich. I think I found my lunch spot in this town! Amazing place! The Havana is my favorite item, which is coffee with condensed milk/syrup and is pretty sweet. Their drip coffee/lattes are good if by themselves. The popular coffee drinks are in small-medium-large sizes, while the specialty coffee drinks are medium-sized. There are a variety of pastries and croissants to pair with said coffee and you're good. If you're health-conscious, they also carry on-the-go bottled nutritional, vitamin-infused and juices if you prefer the colder variety. Likewise, there are organic snacks and other health foods, even Belgian chocolates - some of these are hard to find. This cafe is near the Glen Park BART station (head away from the intersection of Diamond and Bosworth) where Diamond St ends and Monterrey Blvd begins. It is literally steps away from the BART station! The staff are the friendliest. The clean, bright interior with rotating art pieces garnered that fifth star. read more

Cup cafe is where you should be going to support s local business. The owners are in there pretty much every day working their butts off to run the cafe. Coffee is good and they have the same lemon scones as Peet's, which I love. Previously I had thought that there were no outlets, but there actually are along the walls!! Only downside is the fact that it can get hot in there, but it doesn't stop me from doing work here frequently. I'm so happy I recently tried this spot out, and now I've gone for the second weekend in a row. I've only tried the egg bagel sandwiches, but I highly recommend! The eggs are always fresh, the bagel nice and toasty and the sandwich itself well seasoned. It's got a wonderful neighborhood feeling, and the owner -- Sam -- exudes so much warmth and care that you can feel in the food he prepares. In these crazy times, that warmth is all the more needed and as an added, so necesssry bonus, they take health and safety very seriously. Sanitizer and wipes are readily available.
