Ugh I keep giving this Equator location another try, drawn in by their bustling, airy POPOS and seasonal house-made flavors (my weaknesses!) but every time the drinks have fallen flat. The craftsmanship of the lattes, especially the quality and pour of the foam, leaves much to be desired. Not absolutely terrible objectively but very much akin to hotel or airport coffee. It stings even more when a small 10oz drink runs over $8, closer to $9 after tip. I'm in no way morally opposed to paying that much for a good cuppa, but for this level of mediocrity I'd genuinely prefer Starbucks down the street for the price, less wait times, and convenience. Unfortunately given its large public space in the LinkedIn building lobby and the foot traffic from all the AI businesses popping up in the area, I don't think they have much incentive to improve. Definitely stick to their Fort Mason location - that one is worth the hype! read more

Excellent coffee shop on the ground floor of the Linked In tower. I stopped by on my afternoon coffee break while visiting the building for a startup event earlier this week and ordered my usual - a grande hot matcha latte - which cost $6.50. I had to ask them to sweeten it, but otherwise the drink was good. Service was fast and friendly, and there was no line! Happy to return. read more

Can't speak to the coffee here, but the iced matcha with strawberry foam is delicious. My go-to pick me up in the middle of day. Whether there's a line is hit or miss, but the strawberry foam is worth it because most matcha places don't do it / don't do it well in SF and surprisingly Equator Coffee nails it. This location is attached to the LinkedIn building so there's often a lot of office workers hanging out in the seating area nearby but it's spacious and never too hard to get a spot. read more

This location is situated inside the LinkedIn building. When you walk into the main lobby, the cafe is to the far right (if you're on Howard St). I tried their Habibi Latte and have been hooked on it ever since. I highly recommend that drink. The service has always been great. You can take it to go or they have tables and seating inside for you as well. It's a big lobby. There are a few tables with outlets in case you need to do work on your laptop. I never suggest driving to downtown but there is a small outdoor parking lot right across the building on the corner of Howard & 2nd street. You do have to pay. I was in the area and this was about a block from the Moscone Center! It looks like a museum (I think this is the SoMa Shop location within the LinkedIn building) and has a great spacious area with seating for people to do work. I tried the vanilla almond shakerato which had a distinct almond nuttiness that blends with the oatmilk. Very smooth. It seems like a popular spot and pretty extravagant for a coffee shop. This location is located inside the LinkedIn building, but it's open to the public. I walked in the main entrance, then opened a door to my right where the art was. Personally, it felt more spacious than the Burlingame location. Since it was a Monday afternoon, there were plenty of people sitting in the open area working on their laptops or chatting with colleagues. I was debating between 2 seasonal drinks: The Strawberry Cream Matcha and the Strawberry Cream Cold Brew ($5.75), and ended up getting the cold brew. + The strawberry cream was so good! It was creamy, fluffy, and fruity, yet light at the same time. +Cold brew was smooth and not too acidic. +/- This was strong and I felt the caffeine for the remainder of the day. *Verdict: This is a spacious spot near the Salesforce Transit Center with creative drinks that aren't too pricey. Very tasty drinks! I went with my partner and I got the brown butter caramel latte and it was delicious. Very friendly and speedy service and the space is beautiful. They have huge windows and a ton of tables to sit at. I just wish the coffee shop itself was open later (closed at 3:30;) but they said the seating area is open until 6 which is nice. read more

I work nearby and come here often. Good coffee and pastries. I love their cold brew. Service is often super friendly. However the line to order can be long and the wait for drinks even longer. This is not a place to come if you want to be in and out. During the morning rush it's not uncommon to wait 10-15 mins to order and then up to another 20 mins for an espresso drink. They also prioritize online and DoorDash orders over in-person orders which really slows things down. As more people return to office I hope they can figure out better ways to manage the flow of customers. I'd also love if they opened at 7:30 instead of 8. read more

This has been on my list for a while and I was a little disappointed. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and an everything bagel with cream cheese. In terms of price relative to portion size, it's pretty good. You get a pretty large coffee for what you pay and the bagel had loads of cream cheese. It's a good latte but the sweetness was a little overpowering. I felt that the vanilla latte was very milky and the vanilla flavoring was very syrupy. The bagel was nicely toasted but felt very dense (felt like day old bagel). The cream cheese also tasted a little odd and wasn't super creamy. However, the staff was very friendly and I loved the modern feel. There is a lot of seating but note that it is technically a building lobby. read more

Equator is my go to for my must have Brainwash Mushroom Mocha (light chocolate). It's not a common coffee and rightly so for such a unique location. With amazingly high ceilings, light music, and floor to very high ceiling windows it's a lovely place to enjoy your beverage of choice. My favorite part, however, is the crew. I was prompted to give a review on my overall experience another site. I said that I am a fan overall of Equator and they are my go to coffee along with Volcanica. I also said that I have purchased some of their coffee that was $80 a bag or more. I have not felt that any have lived up to the cost but have been very happy with their other coffees. I also commented that I do not like when they ship via USPS versus UPS. It always take a lot longer to receive. Equator promptly responded that they shipped my last order via UPS but failed to acknowledge a more recent order was shipping USPS. Most of my orders go USPS so I stand by my comments. read more

This branch is about 2 blocks away from Moscone North, where my booth was. I stepped in around 8:30am to grab a coffee and a quick bite to eat before I headed over to Moscone. I had their Cold Brew Sweet Foam with lavender flavoring. It was good, a little too sweet, but still good. I also had a plain bagel with cream cheese. This was one of the most disappointing bagels I have ever had. Parts of it was so soft it was basically soggy while other parts were so stiff I couldn't even bite into it. I know I'm a NYer and we have the best bagels, but I've eaten my fair share of Thomas's bagels as well as other fast food bagels. This was one of the worst bagels I have ever had. Service was friendly and very nice, though, so I would recommend coming for the coffee but not the bagels. read more

Decent coffee with a really nice open space! I have come here a couple times for coffee with my coworkers since it's just a couple minutes away. There is usually always people in here since it's a public space. The first time I came was in the summer time so I tried their Iced Mint Matcha. It was very interesting because it tasted like Matcha but also Mint and it was fizzy... It was okay but I wouldn't order again. The other times I've come I ordered a Latte and a Matcha Latte, as well as the iced versions. I really like their iced Matcha because it is very refreshing. When you get the drinks, they give it to you without a cap. The only downside is when there are a lot of people, they take down your name but sometimes they don't call it correctly or they don't even have the name down... You just have to guess and assume that the drink they put out is what you ordered. All in all, I'll be back since it's a close enough place! read more

I've been to Equator twice do to my coworker inviting me for a quick coffee run. Prior to visiting the "LinkedIn location," I've had them at local restaurants. Equator's coffee is smooth, enjoyable to drink even not in latte form, and doesn't cause a cracked out reaction like Blue Bottle. Don't let the line intimidate you, it moves fast. They also sell some pretty tasty breakfast tacos from Early Bird Tacos. I've been getting the smooth and just sweet enough Carmel Latte. Coffee Bar still has the best carmel latte IMO but Equator's is still great. I will eventually stop being a creature of habit and try the vanilla latte! Love this location, and the open space is great to catch up with a friend over a latte or just grab a lunch and bring it here and chill. read more

I walk past here everyday on my way to work, leaving work, heading to the transbay terminal... I thought this was just an open air workspace with a teeny coffee shop that wouldn't do anything for me. I was wrong I admit it. Yes, it's an open workspace/chill hangout spot. But Equator Coffees itself is so much more. I ordered the scratch carmel latte and a chia seed pudding this morning and I'm a fan. The line moved pretty quickly and the cashier was a delight for so early in the morning! So many choices on the menu so I was actually glad for the line. From coffees to matchas to breakfast tacos and puddings, Equator Coffees is filled to the brim of great options for breakfast and snacks. They also have canned wine (!!) and beer for your little happy hour or lowkey afternoon wind down. Love this convenient location and great service! I will be back to try the rest of the coffee menu and dig into the rest of the coffee shop treats soon. read more

A local bartender told me that Equator was one of his favorite coffee roasters so I found a location near my work meeting and popped in for a latte one morning. This location is interesting as it's in what seems to be the lobby of an office building. It has lofty, high ceilings and lots of open white space. It felt like I was walking into an art museum that had a little coffee counter. A little strange, but there was quite a bit of open seating so I ordered a latte and sat down at one of the long counters to charge my laptop and phone. The guy who took my order was super friendly and polite. The latte was good, pretty standard. The price was also not too expensive for the area, I thought. The seating is a little odd as it's mostly huge, long tables that don't seem conducive to a meeting or anything like that. Mostly I just saw individuals with their headphones on. Definitely a central location to many businesses in the area so I feel like it probably gets pretty busy during peak times. read more

A clean and pretty environment? Check. Plenty of places to sit? That last one depends on when you come and what you're there for. I wouldn't say this is the best place for long laptop sessions. Wowza. If cute, tiny SF coffee shops where you're literally rubbing elbows with your neighbor just aren't your thing, Equator is right up your alley. This coffee shop, or "public space" as one of my Bay Area friends corrected me, takes up an entire city block and is totally impressive. There's a little cafe with all the coffee classics and some bites. I ordered a matcha latte that was so sweet I couldn't drink it, but that wouldn't stop me from trying their coffee drinks in the future. There are tons of tables and steps for doing some work or taking a meeting. I'm actually not 100% sure what the wifi situation is since I was so close to my office that my computer just hopped onto that network. I wasn't able to find any outlets, so charge up your devices before heading here. Worth checking out for sure! read more
