Very clean layout
Donovan H.

I am no stranger to "Blue Bottle Coffee" as I have enjoyed venturing out to quite a few of their locations throughout San Francisco and surrounding areas over the years. This takes me to one of their most elaborate and quite stunning locations which is at 115 Sansome and one of San Francisco's most historic buildings in the Financial District. This building has been around since 1912 and was once the headquarters for the Standard Oil Company for many years. Since then, this 15-story building has retained much of the same charm complete with the beautiful French Beaux-Arts design signature. Located at the corner of Sansome St. and Bust St., this Blue Bottle Coffee has been in operation dating back to 2015. Since then, they have managed to gain a ton of regular customers while getting through the pandemic and even with the aftermath of struggles this area has faced, they have withstood the test of time. They also have very generous hours of operation being open weekdays from 6:30am-5:30pm and weekends from 8am-2pm. This is ideal for those early birds that have to be at their office before 7:30 in the morning. As I mentioned, the building itself is absolutely gorgeous in every way possible. Blue Bottle is situated on the main floor and an immediate right as soon as you enter the building. It has a fairly sizable amount of square footage with ample area to sit while enjoying views of the city all in its glory. You will also find a dedicated condiment station, prepackaged food and drinks, mugs/cups for purchase, and many of their award-winning coffees that you can make at home. Out of all the independent coffee chains, Blue Bottle has always ranked near the top as far as taste, quality, and overall consistency with their roasting process. My most recent visit was the morning of Saturday 2/14/2026 at around 10:00am. Parking can be quite challenging, primarily during the week. However, since I came during a weekend morning, I ended up parking about a block away (with a small metered charge). Since there were several customers ahead of me, I glanced at the menu as they serve a nice variety of coffee, espresso, matcha, and tea options. They also carry a respectable amount of food options including waffles, croissants, and even heartier options such as a ham/cheese baguette and avocado toast. Since I was only in need of a coffee beverage to fuel my morning, I went with the "Iced Nola". This New Orleans-Style iced coffee utilizes a slow cold-brewed method combined with roasted chicory and sugar. It has been my go-to drink of choice the past several times and has always been consistently delicious. Keep in mind that this location is cashless and they only accept debit, credit, and tap-to-pay (as this is how many Blue Bottle locations are). Total time only took about 5 minutes as the staff worked very diligently. All in all, the "Blue Bottle - Sansome" location is as good as it gets. Prime location, above average customer service, and amazing coffee. My rating, a perfect five stars.

For most part my experience of Blue Bottle in SF downtown has been good. This was not different - enjoyed my coffee and specially the ceramic cup experience and a almond butter toast. This establishment is pretty neat and clean for a SF downtown spot.

We stopped by for coffee, and it was a great experience. I ordered the Blue Bottle Americano, my husband ordered the Matcha tea, and we also got a pastry. Everything was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. I think their prices are very reasonable for such excellent coffee. I would honestly say it's way better than Starbucks. I'll gladly spend my money there anytime!

Stopped by this Blue Bottle FiDi location to check out their pastry selection! Service was quick and there was barely any line on a Saturday afternoon. A few people were inside enjoying their drinks, but it definitely feels like a spot that gets busier on weekdays. Since we already had our morning caffeine fix, we decided to try a bit of everything from the pastry case. - Everything Pull-Apart Croissant -- savory, knotted shape, coated in everything seasoning; unique and easily my favorite of the bunch - Chocolate Croissant (Pain au Chocolat) -- classic laminated pastry with visible chocolate seams; you can never go wrong with this one - Seasonal Scone -- triangular with a crunchy sugar crust; cranberry-flavored during our visit - Ginger Molasses Cookie -- soft and chewy with a crackly, sugar-coated top; great texture and warmth - Cheddar Jalapeño Biscuit -- rectangular, lightly golden with visible herbs and peppers; savory, flavorful, and a surprising standout Overall, a convenient Blue Bottle location near Nob Hill and FiDi, right on Sansome Street with plenty of local SF eateries around. Always love the clean, minimalist Blue Bottle aesthetic!

Not my favorite visit, for a couple of reasons. they don't offer as many flavor options for lattes, and the time it takes is too long. I became increasingly frustrated with the amount of time my simple coffee took, and the way they received and served orders I got a cappuccino and it took 10 minutes longer than my friend who ordered a more complicated drink behind me. I would not return when there are other coffee options near by

The coffee at Blue Bottle is always good but this location was a bit cold. I love a pour over coffee but when the person at the register is also responsible for pour overs it was pretty clear that was going to take a while so I ended up with a Latte. I would have prefered a standard drip but they didn't have any ready. The Latte was fine (great Latte art!) but I tend to go to place like Blue Bottle for a quality bean that doesn't need to be masked with steamed milk. The layout of this location was also odd but I guess fine if you're going to work at a high top.

I'm always on the lookout for great hot chocolate around FiDi since coffee isn't my thing, and Blue Bottle delivered! I decided to give it a try with a gift card I received, and it was a fantastic experience from the moment I walked in. I was warmly greeted, and the staff were friendly, professional, and super helpful. My hot chocolate came out quickly, just as I ordered--extra hot--and it was absolutely delicious. Creamy, chocolatey, and perfectly balanced, it hit all the right notes. The place was buzzing, which seems to be the norm, but the vibe was great, and there were plenty of seating options if you time it right. For FiDi workers or anyone passing through, this spot is definitely worth a visit--even for us non-coffee drinkers! Overall, a great experience. Would definitely stop by again!

Iced Shakerato

I have been to this location multiple times whenever I'm in office in FiDi! My team would always do coffee runs because our office was only a five minute walking distance. We usually went in the mornings around 9AM, and there were not that many people waiting in line. I've tried the Iced NOLA which has a strong chicory flavor. It takes me back to the days whenever I would visit French Quarter :) I recently tried the Shakerato which is on the sweeter side but still had good espresso flavor. Even as I sipped my drinks while working, it didn't really taste watered down by the time most of the ice melted, so that's a plus! Overall, I think their drinks are perfect if you like lightly sweet drinks. Their drinks are definitely more coffee forward which I enjoy. Their service was pretty quick, and I would always have my drink ready within 10 minutes. I love the interior because of how modern it is with the wooden layout. There is plenty of seating since most people were coming in and out for their coffee runs. The lighting and scent of coffee always feels so comforting whenever I walk in. Definitely would come again whenever I work in the office!

Single origin cold brew. Sweet and mildly fruity.

Something has to change. Two stars for a staff who is trying to make it work, but it wasn't working at 8:30 on a Wednesday. 15-20 minute wait for an espresso. Some mobile orders compete - but not too many. Nobody really orders the over priced mediocre food. I waited twenty minutes for a bland coffee that had quite a few ground in bottom. Likely too chaotic for the staff to be able to keep the espresso machine dialed in. My advice, batch brew or cold brew because it's ready without a wait and likely better. Busy. But you can usually find a seat. There star 2.

And they don't clean anything discussing environment

Crazy expensive and from the taste it's not worth the price! The service is bad they rush us to pay and sneak diss and they kicked my service dog out and the place is surrounded by homeless people harassing you for money

It seems like there's also an upstairs but did not get the chance to check it out. I got an iced latte with their almond macadamia milk, and they're also so nice to do complimentary cold brew! So we got an extra drink for free. Trying the iced latte, it was pretty disappointing lol. I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

(i sound like an american health influencer...oh wait i am american) however i wish my pastries were toasted. also i wish they were less sweet. the plain croissant did not have top-tier crazy bone-shaking lamination, i wish it was flakier. sorry i have a lot of wishes. unfortunately big B may not be able to satisfy them. i wish i can go back to try the black sesame one but i'm too broke and i have an astronomically low attention span so i can't wait in line

Getting a pretty basic, straight forward matcha or hojicha beverage is always a good way to tell how a store's quality of matcha is. Of course just a plain matcha like usucha is a better way of telling but I like mine with oat milk. Upon first sip of the matcha latte, I could tell immediately that the matcha quality is of very low grade. It was extremely bitter even with the oat milk which was unfortunate. I sipped on it on my walk home and once I was back, I added more oat milk to the cup. That's how bitter it was! On the other hand, the hojicha latte was quite alright. Nothing to write home about but I didn't have to make my own alterations for that one. I'd come back for a hojicha latte but definitely not for their matcha. I can make it better at home..using a high quality powder.
