First time trying Coffee Bar on Montgomery Street. I went around lunch and there weren't many people. I got an iced mocha, but they have two kinds. The specialty is supposedly made with darker chocolate and is less sweet. Pricing is reasonable and the coffee was prepared quickly. I took it to go and was satisfied with my iced mocha. I'll be sure to come back again!
This place has some great lattes! The interior is very small and unassuming, but they make all syrups in house and serve Asha matcha (haven't tried myself). Rosemary brown sugar: really good, reminded me of the maple pine seasonal saint frank latte Vanilla: yummy! on the sweeter side Havana: a little too sweet for me (as expected from condensed milk) Salted tahini caramel: oddly enough, this one wasn't sweet enough for me. It leaned more rich and savory Some of the better coffee I've tried in the financial district & the pastries always sound delicious too. I ordered a Horchata cold brew and it was really good. Very flavorful, I love horchata. The service was kinda meh, I stood there for a while before I was acknowledged and there was no one in line ahead of me.
I love this place. As someone that gets noticed in SF quite a bit, since I have been featured on a lot of albums, I felt right at home. It's like a sober place to hang for some anonymity, beautiful ambience and anonymity. Most of my fame is due to my family and friends being so amazing, but I do have one of those recognizeable faces and I felt relieved to enjoy these products. It would be an amazing spot for any bachelor or bachelorette hangout post or pre-partying.
Came here after a workout and was curious to try it since they have Horchata Cold Brew, which Horchata is my favorite drink I get at a Mexican restaurant. There was barely a line around 930am, so I was helped straight away. Customer service was straight to the point. Take the order, thank you, and boom. Done. I waited for like a minute before my drink came. It was super quick! The Horchata Cold Brew did not disappoint. It's very much a cold brew. Not sweet at all, but you can taste the horchata in it. It's a good mix of both. I'm pretty caffeinated as I write this, so it's doing it's job! Would come back again to try more things.
I wanted a cup of joe as I rushed into the office. Upon entering, there are two lines. The left line is to order and the right line is to wait for your order (I think). While waiting, there's a wall refrigerator with yogurt and other nibbles. There's also bagged coffee beans to enjoy at home. The line moved quickly and service was attentive. I was given some recommendations since it was my first visit. Coffee: There are many options to pick from, including the seasonal pumpkin spice latte. I opted for a simple medium roast Mexican drip. It sounded delicious and the employee confirmed it was a good choice. It is smooth and hot! I'll be back for more. This is probably the best drip coffee I've found so far. The bagged beans sell out quickly. I was told there will be another shipment soon. Food: I saw a sign promoting breakfast tacos and I was getting hungry. I'll inquired and was told they are house made and comes with salsa for about $6. They are the size of a palm. All of this information was accurate. I opted for the mushroom taco. By the way, there's egg and cheese in all of the tacos. When I unwrapped this treat, it was a bit underwhelming and bland...even with the salsa. Nice spot for coffee and great staff. I'll be back but certainly not for the breakfast taco.
If this was a review on their coffee I'd give them 5 stars because their horchata cold brew is so good. However, today I finally tried the breakfast tacos and was severely disappointed. I paid $13.50 for 2 bland tacos that were way too Potatoe heavy. I got to give it to them in finance district, their margins are probably 600% on these tacos. The "bacon" taco is pathetic. 4 tiny pieces of bacon to be found (see picture). This was not a bacon taco, this was a potato taco with a little unseasoned and unsalted egg and a garnish of a few bacon pieces. Very unfortunate and definitely expected more. I'll still be back for the cold brew and lattes if I'm near by but come on do better coffee bar!

Notable favorites are their havana latte and vietnamese cold brew. If wanting something a little different, definitely try the horchata cold brew with espresso (aka a dirty ho!) . Staff here is always pleasant to interact with. Unfortunately prices have gone up quite a bit along with everything else in the area (about $6 for a drink now ; I remember the days when paying almost $5 was pricey) but quality has remained the same even from years ago and would continue to try my best to support this local biz.
Started my day with a cup here and the Mexico drip was quite good. The staff was really pleasant. I wish they had some tables outside to sit at, but the chairs were certainly comfortable before I had to run to the office and get to work. I remember this place used to be really busy before the pandemic so I hope people come support. Peet's nearby was packed.
My coworker recommended to go to this place during lunch so I got their Vietnamese cold brew, which was strong and tasted amazing! For the whole week, I kept thinking about how good it was so the following week - I was really cold so I got their Havana latte which was also really good. I was so amazed that I like their coffee so much, so today I was early to work and thought "hmm it's Friday and I'm going to treat myself to good coffee" so I got their horchata cold brew. Let me tell you... it was also very good! Their whole menu probably would not disappoint. There's so many coffee shops in FiDi, but Coffee Bar is my go-to coffee shop now.

This is a grab & go type of spot, perfect for a quick coffee pick me up on your walk to work or post-workout. I decided to stop by here because I saw their spring seasonal was an earl grey latte? I have only tried this at one other coffee shop, so had to try it again here! Let me just say, I was OBSESSED. The coffee, the flavor and everything about this drink felt like exactly what I needed. Definitely pricey, but very conveniently located, well-made and quick! Will be back to try some of the other fun latte options :) read more

My sister raved about their housemade caramel latte! So I went and got a small iced caramel latte half sweet. You have the option of a small (2 shots of espresso) or a large (3 shots of espresso). It tasted very yummy. If you like See's Candies butterscotch lollipop, it is very reminiscent of that in my opinion. I would get it again if I were in the area. They have some seating outside, but it seems like more of a grab n go type coffee shop. read more

I stumbled upon this coffee shop on a walk to my office in the financial district. Loved that they offer breakfast options like oatmeal with 2 toppings you can choose, a great healthy option. I tried their Havana Latte which was really good. A must try! read more

Fast service and friendly workers! Went here right before work after months of passing it by. The cold brew is on the sweeter side but still delicious. They raspberry pistachio croissant is light and airy with raspberry jam and pistachios in the center. read more
Solid coffee from a small business with a few SF locations. There seems to be an infinite amount of coffee shops in the Financial District--from Starbucks, Peet's, Working Girl's Cafe, etc etc. I like supporting small businesses mostly because there is something so impersonal about going to big brand coffee shops. Starbucks, for example, uses a bulk matcha mix for their matcha latte, which has sooooo much sugar and milk emulsifiers. Big coffee shops also get packed to the brim with long lines because people like going to places that feel familiar. In this infinite sea of the Financial District, I like going to Coffee Bar on Kearny, which is a very small shop. There are seats outside, but the space is too small to have real cafe tables. They offer pre packed take away meals like salad and chia pudding, which is fantastic! From a quick internet search, I learned it has a few other larger locations. They also get their beans from Bay Area Coffee House Mr. Espresso. Coffee bar is a solid small business coffee shop with great tasting coffee. I've gone here a couple time for lattes, and have enjoyed it so far. The latte is strong and rich, and the perfect pick-me up. The space is contemporary and chic, but unpretentious. Hipster coffee places don't have the best sugar stations. I find that the mark of a great coffee shop is if they offer brown sugar for your coffee, which enhances the richness of the coffee unlike white sugar. And Coffee Bar has brown sugar! Overall, my favorite FiDi Coffee place so far. read more

I've worked in fidi for a summer and my co-worker recommended Coffee Bar. I typically drink only the classics, but when I'm feeling something different I come here for the Horchata cold brew. I don't like sugary drinks, and the sweetness level is just right. The horchata is premade, but the barista happily adjusted the sweetness ratio for me. It's definitely not an everyday thing though since their drinks can be a bit pricey ($5+). What's more is that the area is great for finance and tech bro watching; Patagonia vest and airpods galore. Jokes aside Coffee Bar has got to be my favorite treat-yoself coffee place in the area. read more

I was recommended to try out Coffee Bar by a good friend. Wow, I'm thankful I got to try this place before it was too late. The Havana Latte is special. There's so many flavors in there and is nicely blend. It didn't feel like there was too little coffee in this latte. The balance was just right with high quality coffee and high quality milk. There's only outside seating and it can be a bit chilly as the skyscrapers cover any sunlight. It's a very good place to people watch all the hardworking FiDi folks. I strongly recommend to come check out Coffee Bar as their other specialty lattes sounds very delicious. I'll definitely be! read more
I just find it audacious that the owners of Coffee Bar would attempt to set up a lounge on what is arguably the busiest block in the FiDi. After all, we're not in Italy where there would be six cafes in a row with bulbous waiters in starched white shirts with their little mustaches and their little silver trays. No, this is the heart of the San Francisco business area where everything has to be on the go and out of my way - or out of somebody's way since my battle-scarred shoulders have a higher incidence of grazing and shoving on this stretch of pavement than any other in the city - including Chinatown on Saturday mornings. But you can actually sit down and have your coffee here as you watch people who make more money than you flash you a patronizing glare of disdain. What a treat when you happen to want to take a break before a meeting you dread back in the office. And the coffee is smooth and robust enough to enjoy while you've parked your derriere. For $4, you can get a rich, nice-afternoon-size Vanilla, Caramel or Havana Latte, the latter quite alluring with less of the requisite sweetness. But for $3.50, a large cup of their drip coffee satisfies me just fine even if it's nearly twice the price of what I could get at Starbucks. Coffee Bar's beans are sourced not from some Brazilian rain forest plantation or some Italian hilltop monastery but from a local roaster named Mr. Espresso which I previously knew as the roaster you see outside the window of any East Bay-bound BART train lurching toward the next stop. Really good stuff with pastries if you are so inclined. COFFEE - 4 stars...the Mr. Espresso drip is quite the afternoon antidote for a stressful work day AMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...a very modern set-up inside, a mini-lounge on the outside SERVICE - 4 stars...quick and attentive TOTAL - 4 stars...smooth cup of caffeine beckons you here read more

Hidden from public site because it is located within the confines within one of the financial buildings in financial district, Coffee Bar's main customers are going to be business people, of course. Modern, hole-in-the-building kind of coffee shop that serves strongly roasted coffee and imprints their white cups with a coffee bar stamp! Simple menu with side snacks and bakery goods offered. Few outside seating, which makes it a cozy caffe! It's crowded when the morning rush to work is happening! read more
FiDi has like a 100 coffee bars in a small 1-mile radius in downtown SF. Coffee Bar is one of five that I walk by every day on my way to work. I've stopped by here a couple of times specially for their Horchata Cold Brew ($5) which is very good. I've also tried their Vietnamese Cold Brew ($4.25) which does not have the intense deep strong sweet taste of coffee that you expect from Vietnamese coffee. I've also tried their cappuccino with both regular and Almond milk and found it to be good but not great. Like every other coffee place in FiDi at the peak morning hours expect a rush. Here it becomes a little pronounced as the place is very small and a lot of people end up standing close to the exit almost blocking it. I think they need to do a slightly better job of controlling the line and letting people move outside from where they can pick up their orders. Due to the rush I've not tried their hand crafted (pour over) coffee selection as the wait for that can be pretty long. The cashier and the baristas here are pretty good and treat patrons with respect (most coffee places in FiDi are like that except for Peets). Overall it's a nice place for me to cheat on my regular illy Café once in a while. read more

Flew into SFO, checked into The Galleria, and then was in need of immediate caffeination. Where to go? Yelp directed me here. And, I'm so glad it did. I ordered my usual mocha and was pleasantly surprised. High quality espresso paired with high quality chocolate? An unbeatable combination. The service was friendly, if a bit slow. I don't mind waiting a bit for a well crafted cup of deliciousness, but something to think about if you're short on time (there wasn't much of a line and it took 10-15 minutes for my order). The latte art was commendable--when the barista finished my mocha and called me over, he began to hand me my cup and then said, "Wait...can I get a picture of that?", and took a quick pic of his art. Coffee Bar has three locations, one in Upper Mission and two in FiDi (less than a quarter mile apart). They're famous for their Havana Latte (condensed milk and espresso) and Vietnamese Iced Coffee (espresso with their house cold brew)and have a cult following also for their extra spicy chai latte. * HAVANNA LATTE ($4?) - 4.5 STARS: Espresso, milk, and condensed milk. Tastes like heaven. * CHAI LATTE ($4+) - 4.5 STARS: Comes in two sizes (12 and 16 oz I believe), offered with regular, non-fat, soy, or almond milk - soy and almond both slightly sweetened. It's equal parts Bhakti Original Chai liquid concentrate (bhakti.com) and steamed milk - rich, sweet, creamy and extra spicy! It was so good, I tried to find a grocery to buy the unsweetened version, but only found it available at Whole Foods SOMA (original version) or bottled and premixed (Rainbow Grocery). I wish it was less sweet, even with "less chai" it was too sweet for my taste. You can order the liquid concentrate, dry tea bags, or pre-mixed bottles online - but shipping was $15, ouch. You can also find several cafes and a few grocers in the SF area selling Bhakti (likely the Original Flavor) - http://bhaktichai.com/find-bhakti/. Guess Coffee Bar has a new loyal follower. A bit pricey ($4+ for a regular sized latte - there is an "SF Fee" charged on top of all purchases), but delicious. No wonder there is always a line! They have some pre-packed salads and a variety of pastries including Anthony's cookies! read more

The vanilla latte is very good and I liked it. Positive first experience so I'll definitely be back. Additionally, the layout of this store is very neatly organized. This certainly gives customers a notable impression of accuracy, efficiency and simplicity. One of the best coffee shops I've patronized. It's Friday and decided to give something other than my normal cafe a try. This place is a block away from my office. There is always a small line out the door. The place is nice and clean. They have a many selection of milk and sugar you can use for your coffee. They have almond milk, that's a nice touch. But the coffee...I'm sorry but I guess I'm a coffee slob but the coffee just isn't that good. And the prices isn't cheap. I got the americano and I think it was actually kinda tasteless. I was hoping for something stronger in taste and caffeinated. I guess if you want someone to make you a pretty coffee, this is one of the many places in the FIDI that can do that. But I think you get better coffee and coffee art at Blue Bottle down the block. Same prices. Just my opinion. Also got their Nutella Brioche Bun. It's actually really good but I had to come back to my office to heat it up. Shouldn't it be heated for me? To me coffee bar is average coffee cafe in the FIDI. Nothing special. read more
