Really cool coffee spot! Modern, clean and spacious with a unique design and relaxed vibe. Coffee was great, and I loved that the owner is very hands-on--even making the latte art himself. Definitely worth checking out!

One of my favorite coffee shops opened a new location in fidi, and I'll definitely be coming back! They have delicious drinks and friendly staff, plus lots of seating and an airy and clean ambiance.

As a long-time fan of Spro's truck at Spark Social, I could not be more excited for this new location in FiDi / Rincon Hill! The menu for this location is different, but the food and drinks are equally high quality. Since the soft opening two weeks ago, I have already been here 5+ times. Two items in particular worth highlighting: - Coconut Pandan Matcha Latte. By far one of the best pandan-flavored drinks I've had in SF. The pandan is extremely fragrant - you can easily tell it's made from fresh pandan leaves, none of that artificial stuff. This tastes amazing hot with their almond milk. - Lunch Special of the Day (rotating). So far I've tried the oyakodon and gyudon. Both were delicious, comforting, and decently portioned. I'd love to see these rice bowls more regularly on the menu! The pastries are solid. According to one of the baristas, they are from Manresa in Santa Cruz, freshly delivered every morning. I enjoyed the spinach artichoke pastry heated up. The interior is modern, sleek, and has ample tables. The reason why I'm docking off a star is for the prices. $8.25 pre-tax for a regular matcha latte ($9 for the pandan matcha latte!!) is steep compared to other high-quality matcha options in the city, which is on average closer to $7. They also need to work out some of the kinks with service (under staffed at times), but I'll give that a pass for now since it's still the soft opening!

Alright maybe I had the wrong combo last time. Although I still don't like the layout of the cafe- the Black Sesame Latte was very good, just the right level of sweet. The Ginza sandwich was also really good, especially for a Spam sandwich but perhaps the bread was a tad dry. $25 for both items also seems a little steep- would be nice if they had some sort of coffee+sandwich deal...

The team here is always so friendly, drinks are so solid, and the space is great. Happy to see another great coffee shop in my neighborhood!

It's really not worth coming here. From the beginning the staff is rude and have a "why do I have to help you" attitude. There is no urgency as to when your order comes out, who ever they want to attend first will get their order first. The drinks are nasty. I got the coconut pandam matcha latte and there is no hint of coconut! Just milk & matcha! Such an upsetting replacement from Starbucks and that says something!

Black Sesame Latte and Vanilla Salted Latte

I was very excited that Spro has opened a location in FiDi close to my office so I can grab a great cup of coffee in the morning! Heard they soft opened and decided to check it out today. I ordered a black sesame latte and my friend ordered a vanilla salted latte - both were very good. The cafe is also nice and spacious. However, the 3 star rating is due to the poor service I received. The drinks came out quick but the experience was less than great. The first barista asked if I wanted the drink hot or cold. I wasn't quite sure and sometimes cold drinks don't mix as well especially with black sesame so I asked for their opinion. I was replied with a very annoyed "It's personal prefrence" with nothing else which I found pretty unwelcoming. There was no one behind me and was a very short exchange. Then I went to the cashier who also asked to confirm my order with an annoyed arms crossed attitude. I am not picky on my general service expectations but I felt like I was annoying the staff just by being a customer. Usually at higher end specialty coffee (ex coffee movement) the energy is really friendly as we are all generally there for the appreciation of more selective coffee. Will probably give another try but overall a strange experience.

In researching places near where we were staying, we learned about the Italian deli and shop. We were looking forward to stopping by to check out the store and grab lunch. The store itself is very cute and charming, full of so many items - fresh meats and cheeses, imported olive oils, pastas, desserts, wine, and liquor to name a few. There is an area where you can get coffee drinks and there is a deli area for ordering sandwiches, pizzas, specialty dishes, and salads. The variety of options is plentiful. I ordered an iced coffee beverage, which was great. My significant other and I ordered a sandwich to go, which we were splitting for a light lunch back at the hotel. The person helping at the counter was not very friendly or helpful with questions. We asked for our sandwich to be made on the Dutch Crunch bread, as we were looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, when we got back to the hotel, it turned out that the sandwich was made on a regular ciabatta roll, which was not fresh. Additionally, the sandwich was mostly mixed greens. For the price, I expected more meat. With so many great food options in San Francisco, it is likely we won't stop by on future visits to the City.

Portion size was perfect as well. The best sandwich I had in SF and one of the best sandwiches I've had anywhere. Service- I got here early as I knew the line would get long. I ordered the 49er and it just seemed like a greasy goopy mess. It felt like the bread congealed into a mushy paste due to all the dressing and wetness? Also my sandwich was 1000* even after walking back to my car and letting it cool with the wrapper off it was still way to hot to eat for a long while and burnt my mouth. Maybe they intentionally make them super hot to withstand long distance takeout deliveries... I dunno. Plus standing in a long line with a velvet rope baking in the sun, long wait, lack of parking, navigating skuzzy neighborhood to go there (literally saw a guy going #2 on the corner on my way out)... overall I wasn't that impressed with Deli Board compared to all the rave reviews I have heard over the years. SF lacks truly awesome sandwich places so I will give give this another shot and report back with updates, perhaps I hit it on an off day.

They're showing off their wares, flashing pristine teeth, and parading around in an endless convoy of BMWs, Mercedes, and Bentleys. It's a neighborhood where absolutely everything--from the cold-pressed juice to the real estate--has a heavy, unapologetic price tag associated with it. But we didn't come for the gloss. We came for soul. We came to find refuge in our ultimate comfort food at Lucca's Delicatessen. Walking through that door isn't just stepping into a shop; it's stepping into a Time Machine. My order never changes -- it's the Liverwurst on marble rye, dressed simply with a little tomato, mayo, and crisp lettuce. Yesterday, you might have been chasing whatever trendy sandwich they're slinging down at Lettuce, but today is about tradition. My wife goes for the Caprese sandwich with prosciutto--a beautiful, classic combination. For me, though, the magic happens on the very first bite. As soon as I crunch into that rye, the Marina melts away. I am a five-year-old boy again, sitting down with my mother at a long-lost lunch counter, just purely enjoying life. My wife knows this ritual; she sees the look on my face and she approves. That right there is the exact reason we come here. It's why we are willing to stand crammed together in that inhospitable, notoriously narrow line that hungry San Franciscans have been enduring since 1929. Dear God, think about that: it has been almost a century in existence. If you haven't tried it, maybe you should. Take a break from the shiny facade outside, step into the narrow line, and order something real. It will become a part of your DNA, just like it has permanently become a part of mine.
