Great coffee and a great space. This is in the lobby of the LinkedIn building and it's just great to have tall windows and a lot of light. Equator Coffee is based in Marin. I think the first one was in San Rafael. I'd be surprised if any of them have this kind of space. Meanwhile I should talk about the coffee a little bit. My latte was absolutely delicious. It's downtown-priced at four dollars for 10 ounces and $450 for 16 ounces. They have a wide range of coffee drinks including cold brew. There's also pastries and even wine. The service was super friendly, which just adds to the experience and hake this up to five stars. The Wi-Fi is free and fast. This could be a go to spot for meetings right at second and Howard. This is quickly becoming my new favorite spot for a fairly healthy afternoon pick-me-up. I love stopping in here to pick up their Urban Remedy Cacao Chip bars and a small Matcha Latte with homemade cashew milk. Unlike most non-dairy milk options at downtown coffee shops - Equator uses high quality cashew milk, which is sweetened with dates. The Matcha Latte - tastes like a light green tea marshmallow. Incredible space for meetings, conversations, sky TV interviews (I accidentally interrupted a videotaping of one when I saw an old high school friend yesterday). At least I hope it was a taping and not a live broadcast. The menu has all the usual suspects (coffee drinks and pastries served up by hipster, artist, art student types) but the vibe and design is off the charts. minimalist open and clean. I have always loved Equator coffee since working near the 6th and market location. So imagine my surprise when I discover this even more awesome location. It is conveniently located 2 blocks from Montgomery bart at the first floor of the LinkedIn building. The most impressive thing about this location that sets it apart from all other coffee shops in the city is its massive open space! I think living in SF you get used to tight cramped spaces and its just such a breath of fresh air to be able to work, socialize and generally energize yourself in this awesome space. In terms of what to get here, I have a few recommendations: Matcha Latte w/ Oat Milk: This is the best matcha latte I've ever had. Hands down. It is just the right amount of sweetness but not too sweet. The oak milk gives it a nice nutty flavor but still keeps it pretty light, definitely not too nutty. This is a must try! Banana bread: The banana bread here is super yummy and a great snack for when you need something to hold you over until your next meal :) Veggie Scone: As someone who generally craves savory and warm snacks, this was a great find. The awesome baristas can warm it up for you and its just an awesome breakfast item! All in all, I love this coffee shop and space. I am so glad I found it! read more

This is equator coffee is located in the space across from LinkedIn. There's a very large PPOS open public space for downtown financial people to come and eat and use Wi-Fi and just chill the area is nice clean and spacious. There's 3 sliding doors that open and give the space a more welcoming vibe. There's very nice artwork matter of fact right now they're installing some new art, so look forward to seeing something new there! Now back to Equator's coffee lol the employees there are very nice and friendly and they remember their customers and orders. I like that about them! Very very friendly people who seen to like they're job!!! About the coffee its great, and strong to me. They have a different flavor in rotation so you get some awesome coffee each time. It's Not to strong it's going to give you a headache or anything like that but it does pick you up and I get the light roast so I couldn't tell you how dark roast is (sorry) but the light roast definitely does it for me! The area has public restrooms that are always clean. Which is just lovely. Over all it's a cool place to come do lunch or whatever. read more

Equator coffee is so good! I am a big fan of their Caramel Latte, which is actually made with real caramel drizzle instead of syrup. Yet, you do not need to get anything special to enjoy their coffee. Their house blend and cold brew are also worth it. You can tell they value quality and great service. Yes, they are quite expensive, but honestly in this neighborhood it is hard to find a place that isn't. If you are hungry, you are in luck because they have great pastry. Not that you need an excuse to buy their banana bread. Go on. Buy it. It's delicious. They are located in the atrium in the LinkedIn building, which is open to the public and worth a visit. Solid coffee in the public space inside the LinkedIn building. My go to is their cappuccino which has always been good. The space is large with bench tables, plus stairs you can sit on. That said, I have struggled occasionally to find table seating, plus it isn't super personable as the tables are big and shared. read more

A beautiful, beautiful space in the lobby of the LinkedIn building. My mentor at work took me here as a break from our usual spot. I liked it a lot! I like their selection of teas (I highly recommend the white peony if you like subtle teas). They don't have a lot of food, but they do have some quiche and a couple sandwiches. I opted for the raw oatmeal with raspberries and it was pretty good. My mentor ordered a croissant and it smelled amazing. I don't recommend coming here for a meal though, it's really only for coffee, tea, and light snacks. It would make a great space for studying, especially if you like ambient background noise. read more

We got a homemade vanilla bean latte with oat milk and a scratch caramel Shakerato. Both were delicious! I'm always pumped to find a coffee shop with oat milk and Equator's latte was a perfect balance of oatiness to espresso flavor. The Shakerato was refreshing, but pay attention to the sizes listed because it is quite small. I was able to get a good amount of work done despite the noise, and I took a work call using headphones without any issues. Definitely recommend stopping here to work or just for a coffee! read more

I work right across the street from LinkedIn's public gathering space which conveniently has space to work and enjoy coffee made right! I always enjoy supporting coffee shops that are not a major chain (i.e. Starbucks, Peets, etc.) The line can vary at times so do expect to wait about 5 minutes, which isn't too bad for a small coffee shop. Whenever I order my drinks, I am always greeted warmly and the person taking my order is always helpful with making sure my drink is the way I like it. I am used to having Almond milk with my latte's and they very rarely have this, but they do have cashew milk every time I go, which is a bit different in taste, but still makes the coffee unique! I usually get the latte with cashew milk and 4 shots total on a cold day or a cold brew coffee on a hot day. Both are fantastic. It's conveniently located at a corner of of a public space in downtown / SOMA, chic interior and very high quality coffee beans. All together it was around 13 (pretty expensive but it was a treat for myself). Save yourself & don't get the chai latte with oat milk- it was poorly made and tasted like I was drinking sugary milk. Even though a small chai latte is $5 (!!!) I still give them props for solid quality, quick service and lots of seating if you need to linger. I'm a bit of a chai snob and prefer a strong, spicy chai to a lighter more subtle chai. I was worried when the barista told me their chai was made from loose leaf tea vs. concentrate (that usually means watery weak stuff) but it was shockingly flavorful and definitely on the sweet vs spicy side. Next time I'll order it "dirty" for an extra kick. This particular Equator is in the lobby of some fancy office building (LinkedIn?) so it doesn't have a true cafe feel to it, but there is an expansive long table and chairs that don't ever seem to be occupied because of the grab & go clientele. FYI if you're looking for a secret, secluded spot to get work done (with constant people watching). Ironically, I can't comment on the coffee... this one's for my fellow chai lovers. read more

I've been spending so much time at 101 2nd St that I missed out on the public area inside the lobby of the LinkedIn building. It wasn't until I was invited to have coffee with a friend that I realized how cool of a space this is. I'm a fan of the wide open and white colored interior and especially the fact that there's an Equator Coffee in the back corner. The line for coffee (or tea) can get a little lengthy, so it's not ideal if you're in a rush, but because I was meeting to chat with someone, we just started our conversation while standing in line then migrated to one of the few four person tables on the main floor. Those tables can get taken quickly, but you can just as easily sit on the clean stairs, I think. The coffee is prepared quickly, and it's good. Equator Coffee seems to be all about the customer experience. It's a memorable one, and I look forward to inviting more colleagues and friends here for catch up sessions! read more

If you come here, you have to get the spicy Alcatraz K. Latte. The seating is comfortable and the options are better than a certain tech company on Brannan. You won't get more pleasant views in other skyrises in the city. Or maybe the weather was nice just because I was there? Anywho, you can network with people (I mean, why else are you even visiting that building for?) and brag about your new job with your connections. It's hard to find such a safe space. Must recommend. I'm so sad to leave a bad review for a place I used to love, but unfortunately the rude baristas and condescending attitudes are not worth the trip. Their coffee is awesome and I love that they have great milk substitutes (mmm oat milk!) but the poor service unfortunately will keep me from returning again even though I work close by. FWIW they typically have super friendly folks at the cash register, but the baristas themselves are just straight up rude for no reason. :( read more

Nice wide open space with the same friendly service and quality product you find at other Equator spots. At least today it seems like a pretty relaxing place to hang out even right now during the height of lunch. I can see this place getting busier but it's so large it's easy to find your own corner even when it's crowded. Looks like a lot of people bring lunch here to take advantage of the public seating but Equator also provides sandwiches as well as beer and wine (like the Market St location). read more

Nice spot in the new LinkedIn building in SoMA. Elegant, modern, quiet. Good coffee, and delicious pastries. I really like the croissant, somewhat greasy but pretty buttery good. The cholocate croissant is also good. Price-wise, I would not call it inexpensive. $7 for an espresso and a croissant, or $8 for an espresso and a chocolate croissant, you feel that you are in the heart of the City. Not for everyday. I love coming here on a nice day out because their large glass windows actually open so theres plenty of fresh air coming into the lobby. Get a Shakerato or Chai latte from here. Those are my go-tos. The Shakerato is a creamy little espresso drink that's quite a treat. The Chai latte is really good too! Most Chai lattes I get different places are disappointing because they're watered down or something is not quite right. Not this one. They get it just right. Also, the space is amazing! This Equator Coffee is located at the ground floor of the LinkedIn office, and is more of a communal area than it is a coffee shop. There are large community tables with stools close to the bar, and then some seating in the open areas. But this isn't anything to detract from some quality beans. Along with a tasteful pourover, I ordered a pre-made breakfast burrito - which was more of a snack to get something in the stomach before having my cup of joe. Second time in for some computer juice and a drink. Equator Coffees and Teas is in a great location, on 2nd Street. They have very high ceilings and great decor inside, super earthy minimalist it's cool. The music they play is very diverse for example right now they're playing dance lounge type of music and last time I was here they were playing Bossa Nova, the crowd is young and hipsterish so if you are not into that crowd save yourself the trip, I mean it is located in the middle of downtown SF in the LinkdIn or SaleForce building I don't remember but it is techy. The reason why I deducted a star is for two reasons, one they don't make it easy to find their WiFi and Password which is an immediate bummer since it is a coffee shop and two the place kind of stinks when the weather is hot, BO punches you in the face as soon as you walk over to the only area where you can charge your devices. A huge plus is their HAPPY HOUR, from 4-6 they offer $2 off beer and wine which was a great surprise to us! The bathrooms are clean and the service is decent. I recommend in the morning and during happy hour, remember the smell...stay in the areas nearest to the doors and you'll be fine. There is plenty of space in the coffee shop, this place is HUGE. Well, I hope my review was of some help. They have a pretty good selection of different types of coffees and the line is never too long. The service is solid but nothing to write home about. There's a cafe in my office but it has a very limited menu and during exclusive building functions they aren't always open when I need caffeine to get through the day. I got a 16oz matcha latte that was maybe not as warm as I was expecting but it was pretty cold out so that could be more of a perception issue. Still, it was good enough that I wouldn't shy away from getting it again. It's inside the lobby of a building at the corner of Howard and 2nd and there doesn't seem to be any exterior signage, though you can peer in the large glass exterior window walls and see that something interesting is happening at the counter.
