Didn't expect much walking in, but this place quietly delivers. Clean setup, no nonsense menu, and everything actually makes sense--no overcomplicated "signature" drinks trying too hard. Got a latte and it hit that perfect balance--smooth, not burnt, not overly milky. You can tell they dial in their espresso instead of just blasting shots all day. Prices are fair too, especially for the area. Also respect the small details--house syrups like pistachio and lavender without turning the menu into a dessert catalog. Simple, efficient, and they know what they're doing. Would come back without thinking twice.

Cute coffee shop! I had the matcha latte and it was tasty. The cup it comes in is very cute. It's a bit small so got pretty crowded. The person behind the counter was nice. She was the only person there so was doing both the ordering and drink making so if the line is long then it could be a wait.

Cute little coffee shop in lower haight, I walk by a lot and decided to finally try it out. The blue matcha sounded good but it has no caffeine and they ran out of regular matcha! Got a chai latte which was good but would prefer a hot matcha with some fun syrups next time!

Delicious coffee, great Dynamo donuts, and A1 customer service. Small location and can fill up on the weekends so give yourself some wiggle room.

Best coffee I've had in SF period. I'm visiting from LA for a couple days so I had to be very picky about which coffee shops I chose to check out. Thank You Jesus for leading me to this one because it's an absolute gem. I got an iced latte, and it was so tasty. The flavor of the espresso is absolutely delicious. It has been a while since I've been wowed by a latte, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how delicious my latte was! It's a super cute space too. I love the periwinkle blue seats outside and the handwritten seasonal menu on the mirror. You'd be remiss not to check this coffee shop out. Cute in every way! Also the cups are so unique and funky!

Cozy little coffee shop with counter seating inside for four or outside bench. Got the SF fog hot, was heavy on syrup taste - will ask for less next time. Overall a nice drink and enjoyed having a non-caffeinated option (saw the blue matcha powder mix is butterfly pea flower)

I always run past Out There, so I was super excited to finally give them a try but was fairly disappointed with my experience. I ordered the Matcha Latte, which was generally mediocre. The matcha was not well mixed and was very powdery and grainy. My friend's Macchiato was also lackluster. For the price, I don't think it's worth it. Another complaint is that the barista was incredibly unfriendly. She seemed annoyed when we were trying to decide what to order and was just generally rude--I felt like I was bothering her by being a customer. For what it's worth, they do have some syrups and seasonal specials that sound interesting, so maybe if I'm feeling particularly inspired one day I'll give them another try. Otherwise, I probably won't be back.

Tried an iced strawberry matcha latte. For the vibrancy of the matcha color, it's not a strong matcha itself. Strawberry puree was good. Maybe would try the coffee the next time if I come back. They do get a bit of a morning crowd though.

I've now tried out there coffee roasters 2 times and each time has unfortunately been a fail. The first time I got a strawberry matcha and it was completely unsweetened, the matcha was way too milky and the strawberry syrup was way too tart and barely sweet at all. This last time I got their blueberry crumble matcha and I couldn't taste the blueberry at all and just tasted like watered down matcha. And not to mention that they are very overpriced, the blueberry one was $9 and strawberry was about $8 and I've had far better matcha for a lot less. The staff is very nice and location is great inside but I hope that they can improve on the quality of their drinks.

Came here around 11am on a Tuesday. Figured I would peek in while the neighborhood was quiet, but the spring specials hooked me. I ordered the cherry almond iced latte which was so tasty! It's so rare to see cherry ft. On a coffee menu so I'm usually drawn in whenever I get the chance to try one. This plus the almond was an amazing flavor combo - not too sweet, just light and refreshing. The barista was also very kind! The shop itself is on the small side with benches outside for seating. When I arrived there were no other customers but all the pastries (Dynamo Donuts) sold out, so possibly a morning rush. Delicious coffee shop in lower Haight with unique handmade syrups - highly recommend and would def come back to try more!

Out There Coffee Roaster is definitely a go-to spot I'd recommend if you're looking to grab a drink on the go or just hang out. I came with a friend, and we both got the signature drink called the SF Fog (pea flower tea, lavender syrup, and vanilla cold foam). It tastes just as good as it looks. Service-wise, the staff was incredibly sweet and happily answered the questions we had. The space itself has a small outdoor area with two benches, plus a bit of room inside as well. Bonus: there's a nice pastry shop called Choux next door.

    Leah V.

Cute little coffee shop with fantastic flavors! I visit regularly to try their seasonal flavors, like the delicious Cherry Almond latte. Their Pistachio flavor is also excellent. One standout drink is the bright blue SF Fog with a sweet vanilla flavor. When I see people walking around the neighborhood with bright blue drinks I know they've been to Out There! Their branding and cup designs are super cute. So glad to have this spot in the neighborhood!

So we got an extra drink for free. Trying the iced latte, it was pretty disappointing lol. I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

We chose this large city location thanks to easy parking and a convenient stop on our drive. It was a beautiful morning, which was easy to enjoy thanks to the high ceilings, big glass windows, and open main door. The first floor has a central counter to order food and drinks; the glass cabinet has a bunch of rotating pastries from a local bakery. They have restrooms and a merchandise area here too. At the front are counter seats along the front window, and also a horseshoe that looks into the roasting area, which is a great place to smell the beans. There's an upstairs loft that overlooks the cafe below, also with a test kitchen area and offices across to the front. They definitely have a larger business going on, and I can see why it's so popular. We ordered a latte, iced coffee, and various pastries to start our day. Prices were reasonable for the quality. But I have to praise that they do work fast and service is great. Indoor seating will be a tiny wait but is worth because the inside is so lovely, more like a Japanese tea room rather than some cafes that lean towards the clean modern usually all white interior look. We got seated at this cute little tea area almost felt like a sushi bar vibe. I was impressed that I could see that they had different water kettles labeled with appropriate temperatures for brewing their matcha. So I ordered for my date and me: matcha latte, matcha pie, and the cookie trio. Matcha latte was good! Nothing too crazy but still really good, I'm more of a hojicha person nowadays but solid drink and beautiful textured milk. The PIE! This is their best dessert and for good reason. Citrusy, but not terribly sweet, rich yet still has the subtle matcha flavor. I could see potential for a fall forward hojicha version of their pie one day. $10 for a slice but worth to share Cookie trio was a good pick too. My favorite was probably the Kinako oatmeal raisin cookie and I think would pair well with any warm drink. Matcha white chocolate cookie was not too bad, I think it benefited a lot from the bit of sea salt on top. The Hojicha chocolate walnut cookie was my second favorite! I don't see many hojicha desserts happening yet in matcha cafes so this cookie was a delight to have and honestly I've gotta try making my own. So warm but not too dominated by the chocolate. I wanna come back because they've got a matcha chestnut cake I wanna try next, just stellar for the desserts
