Although they occasionally, rarely, miss an ingredient. Which is always a bummer when you get it home and start digging in. The online ordering is key. If you show up and order in person you're likely waiting a while. But the online ordering can go awry when they get supper slammed. The take away here is order ahead and pick your pickup time in advance. Probably goes without saying but they don't toss the salad with the dressing to-go to avoid a wilting salad. Used to go for lunch pre pandemic and enjoyed it. Went for dinner recently and it was not great. The salad was ok, but the environment in the restaurant was chaos. There were at least 20 food delivery drivers rudely harassing the staff who were giving it right back. A lot of the ingredients were st the bottom of the serving dishes or empty, so the whole thing felt a bit sketch. MIXT is very similar to sweetgreen, but 1) the portions are bigger imo and 2) MIXT offers more ~indulgent~ toppings like crispy shallots and cornbread crumble. It can be quite expensive if you add extras or order a pre-set salad, but I find I can easily get 2 meals out of one salad. The salads aren't amazing especially for the price, but I enjoy the variety of toppings, especially the crispy cauliflower for any other vegetarians looking for "protein" options! Often, the employees are busy fulfilling online orders, so it can take some time for them to be ready to take your order in-store -- I'd recommend ordering online if you can. I took the day off Fri 6/1/18 so I could go to the Mixt Grand Opening day to get a swag bag. Once we got in you can either be in the salad area or mains area. I picked Brooklyn salad which has steelhead fish w/ everything bagel spice, asparagus, peas, cherry tomatoes, sunflower sprouts, radishes, creamy dill dressing $14.95. The fish is a small palm-size portion, and they give you a Gigantic amount of greens, tiny amount of asparagus, tomatoes. Dressing you can ask for small, medium, large amount of it. I asked for medium and thought it was still pretty light amount. I liked the fish, just wish it was larger amount. Rest of salad was just ok for me. I think the market plate might be a better deal because you can get protein, sauce, and 2 sides. Portions are small though. $10.95-$14.95. I was so happy to find such a healthy and unique salad restaurant that differs from your usual Sweetgreen! Mixt has a wide variety of toppings and between the warm and cold options, you can turn your bowl into anything you crave. My favorite part is that while there are pre-made bowls, you can DIY and choose your protein, greens, toppings, etc. The first 5 toppings are included and everything after that is $1 extra but I feel like you can get a lot with the first 5, otherwise your salad can easily become $20+. Not to mention I asked for medium on the dressing but both my salads were uneatable as this guy soaked entire mixed greens in my Peachy with an over over over dose of dressing so I end up toss it to the garbage! I like it but don't love it for the price tag. Yes, their salads are creative and their dressings are good. I have never been good at tossing a salad so I rather just buy outside but I have to say...man, their salads are expensive! Even a vegetarian salad goes for 10-15$ but I guess that's SF for you. I couldn't find the restaurant's phone number on the Mixt website to contact the restaurant. I found the location's phone number via yellowpages.com and called it. It was an automated voice message that didn't give me the chance to contact someone about my order, and then the message disconnected/hung up on me. I called the number again and pressed 0, hoping to reach a support representative. It dumped me into a second automated message for Mixt's parent company and prompted me to press 1 for customer service. When I pressed 1, I received a message that that extension was no longer in service and then was dumped back into the automated message for Mixt's parent company. I'll be disputing the charge on my credit card since Mixt gave me no chance to cancel the order. read more

The portions are decent but I'm not sure if it's really worth the price but maybe I made bad topping decisions lol. This was my second time going to MIXT since my first visit almost two weeks ago. The food was good, however, it didn't give me that wire feeling like from my initial visit. Update: truly terrible. Here's the response I got from their customer service. Our food never came after waiting 2 hours. I don't blame Kate, their customer service manager, but whoever is in charge of this company is incompetent. Two issues with this response are (1) they placed all the blame on DoorDash which is unreasonable since the food still wasn't ready after 2 hours and (2) I have to call them on the phone to get a refund. Is this the 1990s? Love this place when I want a healthy but filling meal. These salads are heaping and super fresh. I used to to like the falaf but now I like to make my own with a mixed base with falafel crumbles (counts as a topping and not as a protein!), egg, avocado, grapes, and roasted potatoes with sriracha ranch. I used to do this salad with the Avocado Goddess dressing but they discontinued it. So sad. Don't forget to ask for bread - they don't always offer it but it is included if you want it; it's a mild sourdough. There is seating in the main area and then the "salad lounge" where it's a little darker and has couches - also high chairs. Oh and download their app so you can get rewards off future purchases or free drinks. Every little bit counts. Can get super crowded at lunch time so if you're in a rush and come at noon just be warned it could take a while. They did just start opening at 10:30 so if you go early it's not crowded! 4/5 I really liked ordering Mixt from Doordash earlier this week. I don't have a sweetgreen nearby and the two are often compared with each other in the bay area. I think they're pretty comparable too after finally getting to try it! I made my own salad with grilled chicken and veggies. The dressing I got was the lemon taziki which was excellent, probably one of my favorite salad dressings I've ever tried. I got the romaine salad to add crunch to my bites which was nice. I also like that their website has a nutrition calculator so you can make your custom salad online and see all of the different values specifically for your unique salad. This is super helpful! It was pretty busy on the lunch hour and the line was almost out the door. Took a little while to get to the counter to order. Once I got there, I ordered the orchard salad. The menu is pretty extensive though with lots of options, not just salads. The person preparing my salad was friendly and carefully prepared my salad. I got their lemonade as well. I gotta say, the salad was delicious. It was one of the best salads I've ever had. The salad and the lemonade were about $20. The quality of both made it seem like it was worth the money to me. This is apparently a chain, and this location is in the Yerba Buena neighborhood, across from the Jewish museum, in a convenient location of downtown. I went with two colleagues at lunch time, and the place was packed! The line moved rather quickly, though, and we got a table with no problem. It's an excellent option for salads, whether you choose one of theirs or create your own, and they also have warm plate options too where you get to choose your main dish, type of sauce, and two sides. Normally I would have created my own salad, but I was working a 12-hour day in the area and needed something more filling that would stick. The grilled flat iron steak was calling me! I chose their yummy chimichurri sauce and Parmesan mashed cauliflower and mashed sweet potatoes as my sides. Divine! My colleague liked the parmesan mashed cauliflower so much that she got an extra side of it to take for later, and she went back the next day to have it again! (It is REALLY good.)
