Moon Bowl - Sacramento I had my first moon bowl experience on May 7th, 2026, and have had three moon bowl experiences since! I'm glad they have a Sacramento location, which isn't listed here on YELP yet! I wouldn't normally review my food, and rarely give any organization my critique, but there is something special about this place. I have traditionally given referrals to restaurants that I support, and when I was telling a friend about this place, I realized that they are only available through Uber Eats. I hadn't previously heard of moon bowl, so I originally took a chance to order a few items that stood out. I played it safe with the fried chicken bowl and took a gamble with the fried cauliflower. Both dishes were AMAZING. The chicken breading was well seasoned and complimented with the tender meat. The chicken was NOT greasy, which was a huge plus for me. The cauliflower had equally great batter and paired well with the several sauces and was the real stand out dish. The cauliflower caught my attention. This was the second moon bowl experience I had. I had to double down on my cauliflower experience and share it with my colleagues to make sure that I wasn't crazy. It was shared at a company potluck and was the talk of the office. It was unanimously decided that this dish was special. My latest moon bowl experience was the BBQ steak bowl. This was what solidified moon bowl in my arsenal of staple recommendations. The bowl was well balanced with meat, rice, and veggies, and had a very fresh flavor profile. Of course I had to have my side of cauliflower. So tired of these ghost kitchens. I ordered from here yesterday and it took over an hour to get my food. The flavor was ok but the main problem is that I woke up this morning with stomach problems clearly related to my meal from this place. Folks, my advice to you is to stay away from any business that is operating out of 60 Morris St. There is no way this ghost kitchen is being regulated as strictly as a real restaurant is. read more

I stopped by the EV charger about a block away and was desperate to find something to eat. I popped open yelp, sorted by distance, and walked over to moonbowls. In terms of ambiance... there was none. I couldn't find a good place to stand and wait and the alley was pretty crowded with delivery drivers. The food itself was good, though! The sauce didn't add much to the meal, but everything was enjoyable and I didn't have any particular complaints. Pretty solid Asian lunch bowl spot if you're looking for a quick healthy meal. Got this on Ubereats within 40 minutes of ordering. You can customize your protein bowl with your rice of choice and 3 toppings/veggies and pick your sauce. I got the BBQ chicken bowl with mushrooms, radishes, and kale salad. Loved the chicken. It's got a nice char flavor and so moist!Mushrooms and kale salad also add nice textures and flavors to the bowl. Radish is unmarinated but not bad. I liked the vinaigrette sauce but the bowl didn't really need too much extra sauce with that flavorful chicken. Honestly, the main reason I ordered from here on UberEats was because of the promotion for BOGO as well as $15 off of a $30 order - surprisingly, however, even though I got three bowls for the price of one, I would rather have just spent the money on one decent meal. I ordered the Korean hot chicken and avocado bulgogi bowls. The chicken was hard/dry and the flavor forgettable. The bulgogi marinade flavor was okay (but then the texture was grainy and crumbly) but did not redeem the bowl enough to justify the price point. The accompanying base/toppings were quite lackluster/sad as well, although I do appreciate the variety. I ordered two build-your-own bowls from moonbowls via DoorDash and was extremely disappointed by the quality. Despite the fact that there was no flavor (much less an Asian-inspired one), the chicken was over-cooked and dry, the "citrus-marinated" kale was dry shredded kale with a lemon wedge on the side, and the ginger soy garlic sauce I ordered wasn't detectable in the bowl. We ended up making our own sauce at home to salvage what showed up at our door. For $13, I expected a lot more. The most impressive part of the order was the pastel purple bag that held my order. Found this place on doordash and was pleasantly surprised. In 2023 I've made it my mission to try variations of places that I like, so instead of ordering chipotle I wanted to try this approach to Korean cuisine. It's similar in the fact that you get to customize your bowl which is awesome if you are particular about certain restrictions. I ordered the chicken and egg bowl but added roasted broccoli, mandarin oranges, peanuts, roasted corn, and citrus marinated kale. This bowl was pretty great overall, but felt a bit of a lack from the ingredients. The chicken was dry and the ratio was off and there was too much rice compared to add ons. The rice was a bit undercooked too. But I highly see some potential in this place and find it as a great healthy alternative to others in the city. Can't wait to try more. read more

My 1st time trying this place was for lunch and I was so excited but unfortunately I think that the food fell a little bit flat. I think that the best way to tell if who is going to be good is if the fundamentals are right and unfortunately the rice was hard at the roboto which is as sold as winning because the chicken was season super well and the egg was cooked to perfect gooeyness. It had been some time since I ordered from Moonbowls and my recent order reflected the feedback I offered them. Initially their packaging had come in a brown bag, no logo, and no indication it was from Moonbowls. This time around, they had a quality soft purple branded bag with a unique logo. They also had a printed card stock note stating their sanitation efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was hesitant to offer feedback when a Moonbowl representative had reached out to me, but decided to anyways. I thought their food was wonderful, so I wasn't sure how much more feedback I could offer. Also, I often feel giving feedback can be a bit impersonal and make no impact. The rice was quite hard and quite honestly stuck out like a sore thumb. The vegetables had decent flavor, but it didn't really feel like everything fit together super well. These bowls are also a bit smaller than I expected, but have a decent amount of protein, which could be what some people are looking for, but I was a bit underwhelmed. Chicken and Egg- I actually enjoyed this one a fair bit more, the egg was still runny when I got it and I think that improved the overall bowl, especially the rice, but the rice was still not amazing. Same comments about portions and overall cohesion. Beware, by default their delivered bowls will not have the copious amount of green onions and sesame as shown on their menu photos, just barely noticed it. Me being not vegetarian I would still choose this bowl over some other one I think because I enjoyed it. Moral of story: next time leave notes to my order, like "please give me more sesame and kimchi on the side." I ordered on doordash and they arrived in 40 minutes (delivered close to ocean beach). We just landed a free moon bowl because they were stapling these "gift for you" cards on their orders. I ordered for pick up, and the wait time was estimated to be 20 minutes. I biked to the location, where it appeared to be a ghost kitchen. I was able to get my meal from a locker not even 10 minutes after placing my order. So first pro, it was fast. The taste of the vegetables were really great, the noodles were good (a little bland but probably because they weren't doused in sodium or overly sauced which is good if you're looking for a healthier noodle option I suppose). Kimchi was also good and I'm picky about my kimchi. Con to it being fast, quality of ingredients and preparation was subpar. The tofu looks good in the picture but in person it wasn't as vibrant as the picture makes it appear to be. Instead it was shriveled, hard, and looked like it was overly baked and had no flavor. The bowl was cold, so even though the taste of some of the other ingredients were good, it felt like I was missing something. When I finished my bowl I lacked the satiety you feel after having a good meal. So 3/5 because the tofu together with the coldness of the other ingredients just gave me a weird feeling and for the price I was pretty unsatisfied. Maybe if there was a store front where I feel like I'd be getting a more freshly made meal with fresh hot ingredients I'd try again. Edit: 3.5 stars but Yelp only allows single stars so I'll leave it at 4 for now. I'm changing the rating because they are proactive about reaching out/responding.
