Quinoa Bowl & Roasted Veggies (and tempeh)
    Kirsten C.

A great spot for fresh, vegan food tucked in the Mission. Highlights were the blueberry restorer smoothie, which was delicious with the interesting kick of cardamom. Also enjoyed the quinoa bowl, especially with the added tempeh which was great. Very hearty and filling. Staff were very friendly and even let us sample some extra green smoothie for free. Very eclectic, fun space. Not a lot of seating inside but more in the parklet outside!

Popped in here for lunch on our way from the SFO airport out to Napa. My husband really wanted a burrito but I found this spot on yelp and it seemed more my speed. I came in around 1 pm on Thursday afternoon and sat at the bar. The space is quite small with just the bar seating and a couple of seats by the window. I imagine they have a large take out clientele. I ordered the quinoa bowl with tempeh and subbed tahini for the aioli. It came out quickly and was fresh and delicious. I really appreciated being able to grab a quick and healthy lunch. If I lived in the area I imagine this would be in my regular take away rotation.

Nourishing and high vibe food, elixirs, tea, and smoothies! The food is not only filling and delicious but feels like every cell is being cared for! The women running the cafe are lovely and can feel how much they care for the space. The sun pours in beautifully and is so cozy! Be sure to try one of the desserts too! Overall feels like a hug in food!

My go to spot in SF. I have a dog so I love that there's outdoor seating. I always go for the quinoa roasted veggie bowl with tempeh and avocado. Great juices and smoothies and desserts. Cozy ambiance, very small. Fast service, and the food is always perfectly heated and steaming hot.

organic! gluten free! seed oil free! heaven!!! obsessed w their sticky carrot cake gf muffin. whenever i'm sick, the lentil soup w ghee & yummy date (tamarind?) dollop nourishes and cures me. everything on the menu is wonderful. absolutely delicious golden milk & adaptogen lattes & fresh juice & smoothies. the space itself is like a peaceful lil haven in the cacophony of mission. crystals, books, plants, tea, tarot cards, ornate carved countertops & hilarious stickers adorning the pillow snuggle corner. a must-stop every time i'm in the neighborhood. bless beloved :)

Such a sweet cafe, very small very few tables to sit at but once you do you will enjoy the atmosphere, friendly service and fresh vegan options. I loved the green bowl, I ordered to go but then a table opened up so I enjoyed it there. This is food that truly feeds the soul!

If you like health food and quaint vibes, you'll fall in love with Beloved Cafe. Sit at their bar to get a true feel for the essence of the place. There's a small seating area outside too. On the menu are smoothies, juices, teas, coffee, health tonics, small bites, and plates of food. A few of us ordered the nori wrap and loved it; the tahini sauce is super yummy. You'll leave feeling vital after eating such delicious food filled with nutrients. Note -- There are very few seating options.

It's a tiny, intimate cafe with an earthy, maximalist ambience. It's rare for me to come across coffee shops with foods that are natural, freshly made, and minimally seasoned. So if you are looking for a healthy cleanse this is the place.

On my way to a shuttle for Portola, I found this cute cafe and decided I should stop for a drink or some food. While I wasn't super hungry, I wanted to try something... I only had the Morning Ritual which was basically coffee from a French press. It took longer than I had expected as I waited outside and never really heard the name of the item called. I was preoccupied with the deck of oracle cards I played with while I waited and finally decided to go in and ask about it. I liked the interior decor and feel of the place... I think service could be more communicative. Especially if there are not many people on staff and people are going in and out to check on the tables outside. Being aware oh, by the way your coffee is coming right out of something. Honestly probably could have walked away and the guy wouldn't have noticed or cared. If I am in the area again and decide to come back... I would need to try some food and a different drink. The place is tiny inside so ordering could be overwhelming for someone who doesn't like tight spaces or being rushed, should there be more people walking in to order. I don't think you would get the same feeling if you sat in the parklett tables as you would inside or right outside the front door. Oh, what I DID like while I was there too was the music they were playing. They were play Brazilian music and it had brought a smile and happy feeling to me, reminiscing on memories of Brazil and people I have met there.

Diet: Vegan - The blueberry lemon-aid (amazing! Didn't expect it to be this tasty!) - The chocolate brownie is just out of the world. - The everyday greens is too bitter have it if you can handle it. I'll skip that next time.

We're on a little plant-based kick this month and found this interesting spot. It's a cozy little cafe in the Mission, and yes cozy is a euphemism for very small cramped interior! There is a nice little reading nook in the front though, and more tables outside in a covered parklett style space. Food is definitely made fresh as it takes a while. It took maybe 20+ minutes and I didn't see any other food orders while we were waiting for ours Stuffed Delicata Squash- I'm generally a fan of stuffed anything, but this was a great dish. The squash was cooked to softness, and stuffed with well flavored quinoa. The dish comes with a simple salad on the side, and a pile of nut hummus. The nut hummus was great but I wish it came with something to spread it on. Fruit and homemade granola bowl Normally a granola bowl is just sprinkled with some fruit, but this is really largely a bowl of chopped fruit. The granola was good, but relatively sparse compared to the mountain of fruit. It was a little weird for the fruit to be swimming in nut milk, instead of a thicker yogurt base. Carrot Spice Maple Muffin- very textured, dense, earthy muffin. Not a good choice for someone who wants a classic muffin, but I was pleasantly surprised my kids enjoyed it!

The plant-based dishes at Beloved Cafe was just the nutritious reset I needed after a long weekend of indulgent, hearty Midwest fare. His Stuffed Delica Squash ($17) was so tender & flavorful & my Quinoa Bowl & Roasted Veggies ($17 plus $3 for avocado & $3 for nut hummus) was chock-full of well-seasoned veggies & grains. I love eating this way & wish I did so more often. Beloved Cafe is small & unique; there are handful of counter seats inside, a cozy window seat, & a few sidewalk tables. Hanging plants & tea canisters make up the bulk of the ambiance. It reminds of me of what some SF eateries looked & felt like before many started homogenizing their decor & vibe to appeal to social media feeds. Beloved Cafe was homegrown in the Mission & it shows.

I realized I had not added seating accommodation to my reservation and tried to call, but no one answered. When we arrived, the hostess told us we would not be able to sit in any of the currently empty booths because reservations were coming in later. We were seated at a table off the dining space near the kitchen, my mom was a little too chilly and the booth didn't have enough neck support. I expressed to the host that though I was sorry I had forgotten to add accommodation, that this was just not the way to handle the problem. I was able to speak to the manager, who had been outside taking orders and was clearly working very hard that day. (Her name is quite uncommon so I'm just going to call her M, but I really appreciate your help!) She asked me what my concern was, and I told her, at which point she asked me to wait nearby while she figured out if she could rearrange some tables for us. The bartender was incredibly kind and served me while I waited, and distracted me from imminent tears by sharing intricate details about each drink he was making. I learned do they have a myriad of health oriented cocktails, with ingredients like turmeric, ginger, and aloe liqueur. The manager returned and said that she had already seated my mother in a new space and escorted me to the table, which allowed me to relax and enjoy the meal. At the beginning of the menu, they list the ingredients that are currently in season, and at the back of the menu, there is a color wheel, telling you the benefits of the colors of food. (Purple foods can assist with memory and brain function!). We ordered the asparagus, which was in season, spicy cucumber, and the Aji grill for two. The tofu that came with the grill for two was my favorite thing that we ate. I think you can judge a vegan / vegetarian restaurant by their treatment of tofu. Perfectly seasoned with a crispy outside and I would come back just for this. The cauliflower steak was also pretty tasty. The cocktails are excellent, we tried the BLACKPINK and my mother tried the espressotini and we were really happy with both. I don't know how popular their bar scene is, but I imagine it would be a nice way to meet other vegan and vegetarian folks over light bites. Our waiter Daniel made sure to give us the Mother's Day special dessert the restaurant had created, which was an avocado Grenache with fresh berries. If the experience had started with less stress, this review would be five stars, but I'm very grateful to the staff for doing what they could to correct it and ensure that we had a great Mother's Day! I would love to visit again and update my review :)

The roll had spicy tofu, cucumber, avocado, seaweed pearls, shichimi, and it tasted just like California roll no joke! I was shocked! (I mean it's not 100% alike but definitely around 80-90%) Boddy & Soul is recommended by staff. It's one of the most ordered item and I totally get the hype. The roll has tempura spicy tofu, green onion, sesame, spicy aioli, sweet soy. It's crunchy and the sauce was super flavorful, even better than some regular sushi I've ever had. I came here with a party of 5 to celebrate a birthday and we're sat at the very front in a large, comfortable booth. FOOD: We ordered a bunch of items on their menu, from Bo Tai Chanh, Banh Cuon, Bun Cha to the Bo Luc Lac. Everything was rich in flavor with healthy portion sizes. The crowd favorite was definitely the Bun Cha, which was deep in spices and ultimately leaving everyone wanting another order or even something to take home for the next day. SERVICE: The food came out quickly once we placed our order. Additionally, we celebrated a birthday and they added a candle to our dessert. The staff at Bodega made it even more special because they took a Polaroid of us as a souvenir. I loved my experience at Bodega and can't wait to bring other friends and family here to try out their dishes!

The service was warm and attentive, and the food was served quickly. We tried the Bun Cha, Banh Cuon, and Banh Mi Noodles. The Bun Cha was delicious, with tender meat and plenty of side dishes; the Banh Cuon had a delicate texture and was very distinctive; and the Banh Mi Noodles were flavorful and satisfying in every bite.
