    Phnom Pehn noodle

Food 3.75/5 My favorite out of the three dishes we ordered was the beef skewer! Beef skewer has a strong lemongrass flavor layered with pickled carrots/radish underneath. The pad kee mao wasn't spicy and was too oily and too little protein. The phnom pehn noodle by itself wasn't flavorful, def try with the soup. Service 5/5 Everyone here is friendly and work very fast. All of our food came out in less than five minutes. I wished the skewers were grilled to order because you could tell they just heated it up after we ordered. Ambiance 4/5 It is a small restaurant on ocean but packed during dinner time. Lots of light and flower decors and provides a warm dining experience.

Super exciting to see a Cambodian place since most are in the East Bay or Stockton. As someone who grew up with Cambodian food, I would say it tastes like a home cook made it. Not a bad thing if you're looking for homestyle comfort, but I probably could just go to my aunt's house. Beef skewers were yummy but missing that almost caramelized grilled finish that you would find in the beef sticks in Cambodia. Maybe the marinade is too liquidy for that cooking reaction to happen. They were my favorite part of the meal but just missing the extra little something. Beef loc lac was fine but missing wok hei and the distinct black pepperiness that would come from using Kampot pepper. Phnom Penh noodles were a bit disappointing and quite plain (you can get these noodles aka hu tieu nam vang from other Vietnamese/Teochew places in the city). Overall, not a bad neighborhood place and a good intro to Cambodian food so come check it out!

Cute little restaurant with nice decor inside, the owners of the restaurant are very sweet providing us with good service. I ordered the loc lac and it was beef sirloin with some veggies on the side. The flavor was amazing, very garlicky and good amount of salt and pepper. I loved that it came with some veggies on the side to balance out the dish.

We were craving for Thai food. This place has high ratings and we decided to give it a try. We were greeted and seated by a friendly waitress upon entering this casual restaurant. We ordered the Papaya Salad With Grilled Shrimp, Cha Kroeung, Pumpkin Curry, Pad Thai, Loc Lac, Phnom Pehn Noodle, Mango Sticky Rice, and Megan's Roti Ice Cream. Our food came out in a timely manner. The Papaya Salad With Grilled Shrimp and Cha Kroeung were ok. There's nothing special about them. The Pumpkin Curry With Pork, Pad Thai, and Loc Lac were flavorful. The Phnom Pehn Noodle was flavorless, which was our least favorite. The Mango Sticky Rice and Megan's Roti With Coconut Ice Cream were our favorites as well. The restaurant is kind of small with one waitress serving the whole restaurant. When we needed napkins, we had to flag here down. The prices are reasonable and the portions with decent.

Phnom penh noodles $10 dry. This is now smaller than before.

Service has gotten faster. Now there are two waiters. No wait at 8pm on a Friday night. The food remains good. Since it was a warm evening, I order a dessert first, roti ice cream $12. Then finished off with phnom penh noodles $10, soup on the side. The tandem of waiters was a huge difference. The kitchen was a bit slow though. People around me were still waiting for their food while I already finished my ice cream.

Solid spot with consistently good food and a relaxed, friendly vibe. We've been here three times and the service has always been warm and welcoming. Standouts for us are the loc lak beef, pumpkin curry with chicken, and shrimp pad thai -- all flavorful and made with fresh ingredients. We tried both soups and they were fine, just not the highlights of the menu. Pro tip: Get the roti with the pumpkin curry instead of just rice. Totally worth it.

It's nice to see more Cambodian places pop up in the city! Albeit this is a Cambodian/Thai restaurant, it has a few noticeable Cambodian dishes such as the phnom pehn noodles, Loc Lac and Khmer salad. Megan's Table takes over where PurTea used to be on Ocean Ave. This is a review of just their takeout/to go, since I didn't have time to dine in when I was in the area. The inside/interior has a contemporary/modern aesthetic with wood accents throughout; exuding a chill and relaxing cafe vibe. The staff that I interacted with was super friendly and helpful in helping decide what to order; unfortunately they didn't have the Phnom Pehn Noodles or Leng Soup available for takeout(not sure what the reason was); so I decided to give their Tom Kha a try. 1) Tom Kha(With Shrimp)(6/10) - A very warm and creamy coconut soup with a slight tang. I did ask to make it spicy, which they have 5 levels of. I went for level 3, which was a comfortable spice level; would definitely go a bit higher next time . There were tons of straw mushrooms + 6 small shrimps; and that was about it. There wasn't any garnishes such as cilantro or green onions. I did end up just cooking my own rice noodles at home to add to the soup to make it more of a meal. It was an okay bowl of Tom Kha - somewhat savory and sweet, coconut forward with a slight hit of sour(barely noticeable) and scent of lemongrass. I do wish them success as there are very few Cambodian spots in the SF area. Will definitely come back another time to give their other dishes a try as their prices seem very reasonable!

Thai tea, pad kee mao, tom kha
    Jeanie N.

3.5 stars Thai tea - thick and strong, really delicious and only a tad too sweet for me Pad kee mao (with tofu) - flavorful and a good portion, but the spice level calibration is off. We got a 2/5 on spice and that will still be enough to burn your tongue. Watch out for this one! Tom kha (with tofu) - this was pretty disappointing. It's basically just the broth with boiled tofu and mushrooms. I was missing all the other veg that usually comes with it, as well as toppings like green onion or cilantro Mango sticky rice - solid, but some of the rice was hard Service was quick and friendly, though you might have to flag someone for water or other asks Bathroom was clean We did have some flies buzzing around our meal, but that might be a location specific issue (when it was Purtea, they had the same problem)

Very warm Atmosphere. Food was delicious, hot, and some spicy!! The staff very attentive and food came out quickly. Enjoyed every dish. The mango sticky rice was incredible. Can't wait to come back for more!

    Leng soup
    Emerson Y.

Leng soup is giant and comes with a lot of meat on the bones. Our order was very salty though, had to order a side of noodles and even then... we will be taking the rest home and adding neutral broth, will be amazing. This was the only downside of the whole and it's still good. Pumpkin curry and mango sticky rice are very flavorful, I do recommend those. Prices are very affordable (I fear they may have to raise prices in the future, like other restaurants in SF), so come quick! We ordered skewers, pumpkin curry, Leng soup, white rice, rice noodles, and mango sticky rice for $59, $75.63 after tax and tip. Feels very worth it. The inside is calm and nice, it strikes a balance between homey, intimate, and classy. The light slow jazz in the background contributes to an unrushed, chill dining ambiance. Service is attentive, nice, and quick. The skewers came out just minutes after ordering and the rest of the food followed before we finished the skewers. We will be back! Here's hoping Megan's Table can keep up the quality as time goes on, they've set the bar high.

Cambodian Beef Skewers w/ pickled veggies ($12) + Rice ($3)
    Cherylynn N.

3.5 STARS Name alone, I thought this was an American farm-to-table resto, not a Cambodian and Thai resto. While Champa Garden is nearby, the Westwood Park/Ingleside area could def use more funk! Fish funk that is. Opening last month, Megan's Table took over PurTea. It's owned by one Thai family and a Cambodian family. Open for takeout and dine in. No delivery at this time. Small menu of 20 items including dessert. Hope they expand their menu to include harder to find items like Cambodian fish amok and Thai boat noodles. And, maybe even brunchie fusion items on the weekends since there's a lack of brunch spots in Ingleside. F O O D * Cambodian Beef Skewers w/ pickled veggies ($12) + Rice ($3): https://tinyurl.com/yurzk8ak Tender with nice charred edges but wished the lemongrass flavor was stronger and the pickled veggies had more acidic punch. * Loc Lac: Cambodian-style Garlic + Pepper Beef ($15): https://tinyurl.com/yxnan5jd The Cambodian cousin of Viet shaking beef, I really liked the sauteed onions but felt the beef was lacking flavor. Good thing the lime dipping sauce helped. * Mee Ka Tang: Wide Noodles w/ gravy, gai lan, choice of protein (Shrimp-$18): https://tinyurl.com/yc3533r7 Similar to Chinese chow fun with gravy, I liked the fresh, snappy shrimp and crisp gai lan. The gravy could of a dash of fish sauce for flavor. The portion of noodles was quite smaller than the norm. * Roti ($3) It was ok, seems to be a commercial one that was pan-fried. S E R V I C E Staff was very sweet but on the weeknight we visited food took awhile because there was a larger party of 10 inside. The first dish took 35 minutes with the last (3rd dish) arriving in an hour. A M B I A N C E Same casual, cozy vibe and same furnishings as the previous business (PurTea) with about 5-6 tables inside, one table outside, and counter seats. P A R K I N G Residential and metered parking. Overall, Megan's Table has potential. Like others, I felt the portions and flavors need some work. Not sure if it's intentional but it feels they held back on the typical bold, punchy flavors of Thai and Cambodian food to accommodate the American palate. 3.5 stars rounded up for a new local, small business.

I saw that there was a new Cambodian/Thai restaurant in the city so I had to stop by! I came with a friend on a Wednesday night and was able to grab a table, but shortly after all other tables filled up. It's a cozy place with about 7-8 tables and beautiful decorations. The ambiance felt very home-y. We tried the Loc Lac with beef, Mee Ka Tang with pork, and Thai Fried Rice with shrimp and all were bangers! They do not skimp on the protein and my favorite had to be the Loc Lac with Beef, mmm! I want to note their prices are very reasonable/affordable and portion sizes were big in my opinion. All items are around $10-15, so worth it in my opinion. There was one server, super sweet guy who checked in throughout the meal and made sure we were doing good. We cleaned the plate and left so stuffed. I'll definitely be back and will bring family/friends to try this place!

**Cambodian Beef Skewers** 5/5 -- MUST ORDER! Probably one of the best skewers I've ever had. It was juicy and charred with just the right about of bite. The marinade shone through without overpowering the beef itself. **Thai Sausage** 4/5 -- Yummy but didn't stand out. **Leng Soup** 4/5 -- I could appreciate it, but definitely not the dish for everyone. Very flavorful and had a nice tang to it. pretty salty for a soup, but good when you sip on it with the pork that comes with it. Probably not ideal if you don't like using your hands/eating off the bone, although the bone did come with a lot of meat. **Pad See Ew** 4/5 -- Solid. It had the right ratio of ingredients and the noodles were chewy, but was missing more wok hei aroma. It was tasty, but I've had better. **Pumpkin Curry with Tofu** 4.5/5 -- Solid, better than most places. Good balance of savory and sweet.

Due to their popularity, I hope they can become more efficient without losing the quality of the food. Onto the food: Got the Wednesday special with garlic fried shrimps and garlic noodles. They forgot the mac salad we ordered though. The dish was delicious. The best fried garlic shrimp I had. The pineapple sauce compliments it well. Very carb heavy, but such a good indulgence. The beef skewers with garlic noodles. My first bite of the beef skewers just hits right. The flavor was on point to what a Cambodian skewer should be. The lemongrass flavor was there. The fried short ribs were good. It reminds me of a Chinese salt and pepper pork chop or wings. Same flavor profile. Cambodian coffee was alright though. It was a mix of Thai ice tea and Viet coffee. The food was good even after eating it 30 mins later. I would go back to try their other Cambodian dishes especially the stuffed wings. Just gotta plan accordingly because the wait is HELLA long.

He used to sell Dried Fried Ribs, Shrimp Fried Rice with Lobster Gravy Sauce, the classic Beef and Broccoli, Sweet and Sour Chicken or Pork, and so on. When Cambodian Street Food first opened up, they had a quiet grand opening. They wasn't sure how people would feel about serving Cambodian food in the area. I remembered stopping by after work and the Uncle or brother of the owner would give me a sample of Beef Salawmachu Kreung while I was waiting for my order of Beef Sticks and rice. Both of the entrees were so good, I came back couple days later and ordered their Beef and Prahok Sauce with rice. The portions were huge for the price and enough to share for two people. The aunties (chefs) are so sweet and friendly. I'm so glad to see that they have continued to serve Dried Fried Ribs on their menu! I've been coming here ever since! Given the fact that this place is located in the residential area, street parking is limited. This is a "To-Go" place although they have limited seatings outside, the seating area gets filled quick! Unfortunately, the Pad See Ew was a letdown. The dish was greasy, lacked depth of flavor, and had very little beef. I ended up contacting customer support to request a partial refund because the portion of protein was so disappointing. For a dish like Pad See Ew, you expect tender slices of beef, chewy rice noodles, and a balanced savory and slightly sweet soy flavor with a bit of char from the wok, but this version fell short. This time it was a $90 set with 2 drinks, 2 servings of rice of your choice, a trio of their salads, and 2 entrees - honestly a great deal and I think the waitstaff mentioned it's about a $150 value, which I completely believe. Our party of 4 arrived around 8:15, and waited about 15 minutes to get seated - definitely try to join the ahead of time because they saved us! It's cozy, clean and well decorated inside, and though the tables are a little close you have plenty of space and it's not too loud for conversations. We got two sets of the $90 menu - which was probably a mistake since we were stuffed and had plenty of leftovers. Drinks: we got 4 different drinks - the mango Lassi, spiced sunset, nanda breeze and burma cooler. All of these were excellent, refreshing and great for balancing the strong flavors of the entrees! Rice: we always get the coconut rice, so this time we opted for 2 scoops of coconut rice and 2 scoops of the burmese fried rice - the fried rice was tasty but not as fragrant as the coconut rice so we'll probably stick to that in the future Salad trio: this included the iconic tea leaf salad, along with the pea shoot salad, and superstar noodle salad. The pea shoot salad was a surprising favorite, and I'd even consider getting that over the tea leaf salad in the future! The noodle salad was pretty filling but tasty - maybe good if you're not planning to get a bunch of entrees On to the entrees: these are all super flavorful, umami, and can get a little heavy if you don't balance it out with the rice and salads. We got the pazun kyaw (chili prawns), nga phel hin (a sort of fish patty in tomato curry sauce with fresh cucumber slices), chili lamb, and basil chili pork belly. The chili lamb was a standout - super tender, flavorful and our overall favorite. The basil chili pork belly is a close second, but a bit oilier and heavier. The nga phel hin was tasty but a little too heavy /salty - slightly helped by the cucumber but there were only 4 slices with the dish. The chili prawns had great flavor but unfortunately were a little overcooked. Overall, this was an excellent meal! Burma Superstar never fails to be a great place for a large, flavorful family style dinner. I'm glad we got to try multiple new things from the menu through the restaurant week offer, and I'll be able to switch up my typical order in the future based on what we tried this time!

I ordered a Bun ho hue and the menu stated it's from Central Vietnam. It came with braised beef and pork ham and thin noodles. They also served with jalapeños, Vietnamese basil, bean sprouts, slice of lemon. It's a cash only place and most of the ladies speak only Vietnamese. Fortunately, someone understood me :) It's a small and quaint place and they probably also do a lot of take out. The menu offers dry and soup noodles and sell as Vietnamese sandwiches.

Sometimes they'll ask if you could share your table with other people if there's room. Just a heads up that they get very busy during lunch time. Since there is no space to wait inside, you will have to wait outside on the sidewalk if they are full. I highly recommend taking public transportation or a ride share because finding street parking in this area isn't the greatest. This is a great little spot to grab high quality Vietnamese food. I always come here for the Banh Uot Cha Lua. Note that they are cash only. While the area is not the best, the food is absolutely worth the trip.

They definitely have two more loyal customers after our lunch today! The braised duck leg was so tender and very flavorful; pairing it with noodles in the braising liquid was perfect. I was talking to a lady while we waited and she recommended the seafood noodles. I loved the mix of the ho fun and egg noodles. There was a lot of shrimp, fishballs, fish cakes, and I loved the mini fried shrimp pancake (?) thing that came with it. They have plenty of good sauces (chili oil, pickled jalapenos, vinegar, etc.) on the table to make the bowl exactly how you want it. And don't miss out on the soymilk! So yummy and refreshing (and only $2/cup)! We'll DEFINITELY be back to try more dishes and the desserts!
