    Shrimp ceviche

Super fresh and absolutely delicious. Ordered the shrimp ceviche and was asked if I wanted spicy (yes!). It was made to order and was perfectly balanced with lovely textures and flavors.

    Guacamole and toastada

Food was delicious and the flavors were very well balanced. The guac was freshly made and the tostada was packed with fish. The staff who served us was so kind and generous. Perfect place to sit outside and hang out with your friends while having a yummy snack and good drinks.

Their beer is excellent, and I've heard nothing but great things about the place and people. We visited on a Sunday and met friends, who said it took a while to get a big table for us; it was surprisingly packed! It's a large industrial brewery, with the equipment chained off at the back. They make great use of the rest of the building with large tables, small tables, bar seating/standing room, plus an arcade area, outside seating area, and a few cozy living room style areas with stuffed furniture at the back. To the right on entry is the canned beer for takeout, to the left is their large bar and impressive tap list. We mostly get IPAs, so it was fun to try their other styles like rice lagers and a barleywine, everything was excellent. Their flights are huge, basically half size goblet pours in a six rack. Prices are reasonable for the well developed beer. They also had a food vendor outside, which we loved (see separate review). It's great to see a place equally rock great beer and a fun experience, I definitely look forward to returning sometime soon.

I stopped by here again last week with a friend who came up from San Jose, grabbed a few beers as the service is usually super quick even on busy days, got my usual IPA, and grabbed a seat outside as it was pretty hot. Great place to hangout, they have a mini-arcade for kids if you've got little ones, and of course a to go fridge if you want to grab some cans to go! This is definitely a fun place to be, and if you're watching sports, they've got Tv's as well!

Overall, the pizza was good. My only complaint is that they put a little too much Parmesan on top for my taste since I'm not really a parm person. I found this place through Barstool Pizza Review, so I definitely wanted to give it a shot. I'd give it a solid 4.5-5 stars. I've been trying different pizza spots all day, and I wouldn't say this was the best one I had, but it definitely wasn't the worst either. It was just a good, solid pizza. Next time I'll ask for no Parmesan, and I think that could easily make it a 5-star experience for me. Service was okay. It seemed like they were mostly set up for dine-in, and since there really wasn't anywhere for us to sit, we felt a little rushed. The lady who helped us was very nice, and the gentleman who handed us the pizza was nice as well. The place has a cool neighborhood feel and looks like they may be doing some construction or improvements right now. I posted a few pictures, and I definitely want to come back one more time, sit down, and give it another try.

he pizza from Hi Hat is excellent. But that's not why I love it…read more Hear me out. When I was a kid, I loved going out for pizza with my dad. After a soccer game, or to celebrate something, or just on a random Tuesday night. But somewhere along the way, pizza became a delivery thing. Something to eat when I was feeling lazy. My quest to find the best pizza in San Francisco is reminding me how much I enjoy sitting down for pizza with the ones I love. And Hi Hat is one of the best spots in the city to do that. The people are super nice. There's plenty of space to cozy up, and probably a dozen beers on tap. Good, local beers, like Bare Bottle. Cellarmaker. Ghost Town. And yes, the food is really really good. Especially the pizza. They're known for their spicy vodka and Stracciatella which has this creamy, garlicky sauce...and a slow burn to it. I really enjoyed it. And the jersey pie, which is really all about the tomatoes. My wife LOVED it. I thought it was good....in a simple pleasures kinda way. You can these by the slice, and after 9PM slices are three bucks. But some pies, you can only get whole. Like this sausage and ricotta pizza that I absolutely loved. I'm normally not a ricotta guy - but this was whipped so light and airy...in between bites of salty sausage....I get it now. And of all the NY style spots I've tried on this quest, this might be my favorite crust. I asked their pizza tosser how he does it. It's a five day process, and they keep the dough cold until the second it goes in the oven. That traps the air bubbles inside. And those bubbles are what give it this airy, crispy, fluffy crust. Then he slid a cookie in front of my daughter, and it hit me that this was HER first random tuesday nights going out to pizza with mom and dad...and I know she loved it too.

It was $15 for competitors to participate and $5 for attendees to sample all of the chilis and cast a People's Choice vote. My mouth was on fire from one of the participants who used six ghost peppers in his concoction. And there were certainly some unique ingredients in some of the recipes, including jerk chicken and secret alien sauce. There were only seven competitors, but the helpings were large cups, so we were stuffed from all the chili goodness by late afternoon. Live country music played in the background, and both the indoor space and outdoor patio were lovely and created an inviting setting. There were giant TV screens inside too, playing the fifa world cup while we were there. We had a couple beers and the ten forward cocktail off the menu, which had a light and fruity flavor I enjoyed. My bf also tried the Nixta corn whiskey, which was definitely unique. The bartender and staff here were friendly, and there was even an adorable cat roaming around on site. We enjoyed our visit on this laid back Sunday in July.
