SF Restaurant week is sometimes about the pop-ups and soft openings which are occurring around San Francisco. One soft opening in particular was here years ago and reappeared. It was always a hidden gem in Noe Valley on 24th street on Douglas a block up from Diamond street . Rin Thai use to have some good duck curry back in the days. Today the duck curry wasn't available so I decided to get the chicken curry . The true litmus test of a good Thai restaurant is trying their curry chicken. The curry chicken was aromatic and delicious. I then got the Mango sticky rice .The rice was tender and the mango was really juicy and ripe. SF Restaurant week ends tomorrow on Sunday April 13 but it is also the start of Thai New Year also known as the Songkran Festival. The same day of the next Full Moon known as the Pink Moon. Feels like a White Lotus Season 3 episode ( although I like The White Lotus Season 2 better). SF Restaurant week started on April 4 with a Rin's Thai soft launch notice so I went to get some Thai Food because of the paused tariffs on Thai goods by POTUS Then there something this past week that I started to notice were people craving Thai Food because of the Season 3 Finale of The White Lotus

Today 8/-2/2025 I came here for the second time . First I came here like 5 years ago and I didn't have a good experience . I came here here again to try them out again . It was a bad decision. Unfortunately , my experience was a letdown. Here's a breakdown of what went wrong: - *Tuk Tuk ( 3 Layers of Happiness Drink) *: The presentation was nice, but the drink lacked flavor and didn't contain any alcohol. It didn't meet my expectations even half way . - *Fried Calamari*: The dish arrived on a broken plate, and the portion was extremely small. The calamari was dried out and tasteless. - *Chicken Pad Thai*: While the presentation was good, the portion was small, and the dish was mushy and soggy. As a classic Thai dish, I expected better. Considering the high price point ($50 for the meal), I was disappointed with the quality and portion sizes. The customer service was great, and the restaurant was clean, but that's not enough to redeem the food. Unless they revamp their menu and cooking techniques, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time and money. It was my second and last visit. Potential customers should think twice before dining here.

Location: Quite neighborhood tucked away in the middle of a busy city. Family friendly place to get a good eat. A mixture of around eight: two and four tops Food: We got Brussel Sprouts we were glazed in a garlic sauce and cooked to perfection. To finish our appetizer we got Rin's Beef which is sliced beef cooked for 20 seconds with a garlic and sesame glaze(would recommended to try!!!). Again bringing out all the flavor. For main dish we did family style entrée combo called Luang Pra Bang Salad Set. This included Lao's style papaya salad and my personal favorite Thai BBQ skewers with a sticky rice and a sauce to go with it. My wife's favorite was the Beef Khao Soi which is just like her homeland for her. As she finish all the whole bowl and she said so amazing. They serve with homemade chilli oil and squzing lime in to the Khao soi that perfect!. When you think you have had enough don't forget to try the Rin Thai dessert platter with thai original street food Fried banana, coconut ice cream, and mango sticky rice. This Thai restaurant is a must have!!!

Me and my family came across this hidden gem after spending times at the playground across the street. It was our first time here and loved everything. The ambience was cozy and nice, the menu gave us right amount of Thai dishes we have been craving for, not too much and not less. We tried BBQ pork jowl, Duo Fried, Dessert Platter and Rin's Beef. They were all flavorful and simply delicious. Especially Rin's Beef dish, it was tooooo good we forgot to take a photo lol. To sum up, worth stopping by and giving it a try. Yummy Thai food with super nice service, pleasant ambience in a very nice neighborhood.

Once again, Rin's manages to completely exceed my expectations in providing the best Thai food and best experience. The service is amazingly quick, the interior is beautifully decorated, and the food? Wow. My last review details our go-to orders and once again, these dishes did not disappoint. I have to give special mention to/ rave about the mango sticky rice, which is simply mouth-watering. When splitting the dessert with a group it's tough not to grab the bowl and devour it all yourself. The black rice (which I have not seen any other place use) is textured and unique, the mango and condensed milk provide creamy fresh sweetness, and the sesame seeds and crispy flakes atop add the perfect complement to the soft textures of the dish. I would eat it every day if I could.

Yummy! Pad See Ew, Spicy Eggplant & aside a jasmine rice was what we had last Friday night. Super clean very tasty dishes. Service was nice, but it was close at 9 PM and reviews said they closed at 10 PM. That was not the case... The staff were waiting to get out of there; Oh well, we did not know and they did not tell us until after we ordered. We were the only couple in the restaurant, so it was very quiet and enjoyable.

To get the best optimal experience at Khao Tiew, please remember to put your name on the waitlist and to get there on time when your party is close in queue (if you're not there, you're square, no expectations since they have tons of people waiting). I came here on a Monday night with my friend and I put my name down on the waitlist around 5 pm on the yelp app (heads up you have to be one mile away to be applicable to put your name down). Since I have been here before I know the deal and expected the wait. We were seated around 6:40 pm but it was so worth it in our opinions. The shop itself has a good amount of tables with a nice retro Thai feel from its decor. The servers are very nice and friendly but also the food comes out super quick which is what I personally appreciate as well. Here are some highlights from our absolute feast that we demolished (no food was left behind or forgotten). * Nuer nam tok: The medium rare beef was chewy, had the right amount of spice, and paired well with the crunch of the herbs. The saltiness of the meat ate well with the fresh sides of lettuce and cucumbers. * Crispy shrooms with ground pork: The crispy mushrooms were my favorite last time and the version with ground pork was exceptional. The mushrooms had a nice light batter and the sauce coated your mouth with an umami punch. * Drunken noodles: I love the amount of shrimp and calamari they gave! The noodles itself were coated in a semi sweet sauce that had a delicious soy flavor. * Duck curry: WOW the most tender duck dish I ever had, no notes! * Kaya jam with coconut ice cream: Creamy, fluffy, and a great way to end a meal. This dish is so hard to explain in words, you have to get it. Overall, amazing spot, amazing find, would wait 2 hours again for a third time :)

Hed Tod: Fried oyster mushroom. Nicely fried and not oily. Good portion. Khao Pad Mun Nuer with soy cured egg yolk: beef short rib tallow fried rice with boneless beef short rib. There is a lot of egg that soaks up the broth. A lot of calamari and good amount of shrimp. Gaeng Kamin Ped, duck breast tumeric curry. This was really good. Curry was creamy and thick. The duck was cooked well. Pad Maa - kaeue- stir fried Chinese eggplant. The sauce with this was really good and went well with the tender eggplants. Both are rum-based and had a really nice kick, especially the Soi Ari with the pandan in the aftertaste (which we found super refreshing). Food we ordered were the Nam Tok Beans, the Pad Khee Mao, and the rabbit curry. Both of us love spice so the Nam Tok Beans blew us away! Did not expect that kind of packed flavor at all but it makes a seemingly ordinary bean dish so much more exciting. The noodles were cooked perfectly and made a great in between to the rabbit curry. Which speaking of, oh my god??? SUPER tender and fall off-the-bone. Rabbit can be a hard dish to put on for people who have never tried it, but I really appreciate that it's not as bone-y as other rabbit dishes I've had in the past. It really was like chicken but softer. Wow wow wow. Huge shoutout to our bartender for giving us extra birthday shots on the house. Never had Amaro before tonight but it was delicious. Did not get his name unfortunately but he's fantastic! The reason I give 4 stars despite the great experience was because I noticed less urgency from the host and the servers in terms of getting stuff out. Doesn't help that the place is smaller and more expensive for a Michelin star establishment. Sitting by the bar made a huge difference for us since we had a great experience with our bartender, but I have a feeling that those at regular tables that night might've lost patience with the wait times for certain dishes. TLDR: if you love spicy Thai food, have the money to spend, and aren't in a rush, this place is worth checking out.

For food, I got the hot stone pot, which comes with minced pork and prawns. The dish was not only delicious but also was a large portion size. The rice was crispy on the bottom, and it was nice that the server mixed the dish for me on the table. I would definitely come back to try other dishes! One of my friends got the Pad Kee Mow, and she also very much enjoyed her dish, agreeing that it was delicious and that the noodles were perfectly chewy! It would have been nice to have had a few more vegetables thrown in, especially the broccoli as I counted just a couple of pieces. I did like the tofu although I felt there could have been more and a bit more tender. They could totally redo the front patio dining area as I think it would draw more customers in. We would've expected the pork to be sliced maybe in half or fourths to make the dish feel like a "pork fried rice" than a fried rice + pork mix, but it still worked well and if you love pork, this will definitely be your fix! 5/5 - Pad Thai - We thought the restaurant nailed this classic noodle dish.
