My friend and I came here for brunch today on a Sunday around 12:30pm with a reservation. I made this because it's brunch and the bay was having a lot of events going on aside from the usual tourist traffic in SF and I didn't want to wait long to be seated. My boyfriend and I decided to check out Peacock Pansy for brunch this weekend after hearing so much about it. This place is always busy, and after visiting twice now, I can definitely see why. Lovely Thai brunch spot in Hayes Valley. Went on a Saturday morning with a friend - made reservations about a week in advance but it wasn't terribly busy when getting there. The vibes are very cute and give off that instagram feel. If it's a nice day out, it would be fun to get dolled up and take pictures in the interior. What a great find! Another spot I had bookmarked in SF for when we got the chance, and RB's extended birthday weekend was that chance. We came in on a late Monday morning, and happily the place was open - many places aren't on Mondays. I was thrilled to find out that they have a vegan menu, in addition to their non-vegan offerings. I am not vegan, but endeavor to eat largely plant-based for ethical reasons, and have major respect for restaurants that offer entrees free of animal products, instead of just a side salad or what have you. I selected the Vegan Delight Wrap, which is a breakfast burrito with a tofu & chickpea scramble, vegetables, and avocado. Delicious!! I was very happy with my choice, it was flavorful and satiating. RB went with the very non-vegan Triple Threat Burrito, and also enjoyed it. Service was excellent, friendly and hospitable. We ended up being the last guests there, but were not rushed at all. For a drink, I thought I had ordered a Thai tea latte, but I'm convinced it was actually an iced Thai tea ($7) because of how sweet it was. It was a good, standard Thai iced tea if that was the case. My friend and I tried the fried chicken and croffle ($25), which was delicious. I loved the bulgogi sauce and honey on the fried chicken, but it did feel separate from the croffle which had a sunny side egg on top. I wish it had been a bit more of a cohesive dish. We had made a reservation but like many others commented, Peacock Pansy isn't really managing them appropriately. Looking over the menu, the Asian flair was evident and I loved it! But! Those prices....some of it is on the high side. Yes, it's Hayes Valley but entrees in the $30s? It's a bit much. We tried to stay on the cheaper side. I went with the curry chicken croffle at $23 and it was SOLID. Easily the best dish at the table! Everyone was taking swipes of the curry for their own dishes. The regular croffle and chicken was also pretty good according to dad but he felt the chicken was overfried and dry. Mom had the truffle mushroom scramble and remarked that she really liked the baby shiitake but really could have done without the chunky button mushrooms. My brother went with the ube French toast but it was very coconut forward. Overall food was good, but not great. Would I come again? Maybe. We ended up waiting about 45 minutes for our table. At one point, the waiter asked us to go ask the previous party to leave, which was super unprofessional. They were done eating and had paid but were just hanging around. We watched multiple smaller walk-in groups get seated really quickly while we waited for our table . My friends also brought a birthday cake so we could cut it, and the servers forgot to bring it out at the end when they asked for dessert. came here today for brunch and checked in at the door. place is pretty small and lines are long so things feel very cramped in there. i was told it'd be 5 minutes and we'd be seated. that was not the case. just be truthful, it's fine i'm here already. finally get seated and already the lady wants us to order. ma'am i just sat down and have only looked at today's special. ordered food and drinks and the drinks came out fast. the food on the other hand, not so much. we waited a good amount of time for the food .. which would have been fine had it been freshly made but we didn't feel that was. none of the food was hot at all. just barely warm honestly. the bacon we ordered felt and tasted like it was just microwaved. i truly don't understand why there's a line out the door. the food was just not worth the cost and the service was just nonexistent or very rushed. i'll be sure to take this off my bookmark list. read more

We had a reservation for 12:30 today for three and had to wait over 25 minutes until we were eventually seated. I read this is common in other reviews so definitely a point off for not being good about reservations. I got the tropical pancakes, confirmed they are vegan, and they also happen to be gluten free. Not only was this dish well plated, it tasted great too. It wasn't excessively sweet and the portion size was just right for me as the first meal of the day. I thought it looked small when it arrived, but I was full at the last few bites. I highly recommend, it was our favorite dish of the few we tried. My friends got mimosas and didn't love them. They said it wasn't fresh and tasted like minute maid orange juice was added. One friend ordered the vegan french toast and it was great. The texture was crunchy on the outside but super soft on the inside. The ambience is cute and was a fun brunch spot. I would come back again. read more

My friends and I decided to start our morning off with brunch as it was one of their birthday. We ordered a smoked salmon benedict, ube French toast, pancakes, and the croffles and berries. The salmon benedict came with a side of crispy potatoes which were amazing. Everything was delicious. The service was great and the staff were attentive. I made a 12:30pm reservation here for Sunday brunch with a friend. Despite that, we still had to wait ~20 minutes before getting seated...and this was after checking with the staff twice to see where we were on the waitlist. It seems like making a reservation didn't really mean anything here, and the staff just started seating whoever was waiting close by the front entrance because I noticed 3 other parties of two people were still ahead of me on the waitlist when I got seated. As for the food, my friend and I shared the tom yum crab omelette and the croffle & berries. Both items were delicious! The omelette had a surprising amount of crab, and the flavorful tom yum sauce paired perfectly with it. I also really enjoyed the chewy, crunchy texture of the croffle. Overall, despite enjoying the food here, I had to deduct a star due to the confusing "reservation" system and the slight lack of cleanliness (our plates had stains and random crumbs on them). read more
