My little sister (20 & this is her first car) was scammed out of her down payment that she has been saving for. Apparently, they hired someone named Julian & he has been working there only a week. My sister did the preapproval online and was contacted by Julian to tell her how much she was pre approved for. She went and test drove the car. She gave Julian her debit card, he swiped it and never came back to the desk. My sister talked to a manager and was told that he only been there for a week & she might not be able to get her money back. A police report has been filed. But I feel like the dealership is in on it. Also apparently, this Julian person has a record. Why would they hire him, especially dealing with confidential information such as social security cards, bank info, etc? Come to find out, his name isn't even Julian...it's Anthony W. read more

No customer service. Kept car for 2 weeks for repairs. Horrible communication thru that process if you can call it communication. Car had to be towed so wrecker driver took video of car when dropping g it off which clearly showed no damage to windshield. Windshield was cracked when picked up. Service advisor stated you can't prove we did it and we won't replace it. Service manager nor general manager did not have the professional courtesy to even return phone calls. 65 years of life never had an experience like this. read more

From my experiences in previous years, I've been going to my mechanic/shop. When I returned to this KIA service shop, a lot have changed. There were three counters and three coordinators, timely, and courteous. The whole can't start my car thing is always something, so we knocked that out in the beginning. A family member bought a brand new car from them only had it for 6 months, had 4,000 miles on it and the transmission went out. They had had the vehicle for six weeks and still can't tell them when it will be repaired. They want you to pay for your own rental and maybe you will get reimbursed for it all while you still have to make the payments in the new car you don't have anymore. My husband and I (both) bought our cars (Stinger & Sorento) at Westside Kia last year (March 2018) and we are extremely happy with the cars, the monthly payment, and the overall deal. Everything was great! Not sure why there are so many bad complains. I happen to read over the complains briefly while looking for the address to bring my car in for maintenance and noticed. Sad, sad, sad. I think shopping for a car is time consuming and takes patience AND flexibility. If you dont have neither, you're setting yourself up to be disappointed. I still come here for maintenance on both cars. It takes time. It is best to schedule an appointment in advanced and during the weekdays. I waited almost 6 after purchasing my vehicle to post my review to see if things would get better. Things have only gotten worse. Service department employees are extremely rude and have no customer service skills. The service manager only makes excuses for his employees, rather than attempt to fix the situation.I have had to contact upper management twice about oil changes that should have been rather simple to schedule. They will never tell you that if you call for an oil change, you are looking at about 2 weeks before you get an appointment. Let me start my saying Giovanni was very helpful and understanding of my frustrations and provide the best service he could given the circumstances! Hands down WORSE KIA experience ever! I've serviced my vehicle at several locations and never had any issues. I dropped my vehicle off at 8:45am where I was told it would be a 1 hour wait. I returned to the shop at 12:00pm when I was told I'm only waiting on a car wash. Tech suggested I do the 30k maintenance package when I refused he took an hour lunch. Westside Kia is 5 miles away from my house but I will gladly drive right pass them to get my vehicle serviced at another location. DONT BOTHER!!!!! Honestly there's nothing good I can say about Kia and this Kia location as well. but definitely DONT BUY from here! I bought my car in 2018, and in the year of 2018 so definitely new model. With in the first close to second year I was eventually asked to do a car tune up, which I found strange but they talked the their way in and they have a mileage system they follow. After they did a tune up, my car started acting up, the Break Assistance started to malfunction; which they had the nerve to blame it on me!! ""They said you probably hit your car from the front - I said excuse me, do you see any damage in the front of my car ?!? He said NO!!! Buuut it could of been a slight very soft hit, it happens and that's all it take he said. """" To me that was very upsetting. Right after an Engine Failure started to happen. They keep my car for 4 days and by the 3rd day they say it's a battery problem. So I end up paying for a new one ! Keep in mind Its only a year old and close to being 2 years. I take my car by the 4th day around 7pm right after work and once I was on I10 in the highway driving 60 my Kia starts to not work, all the lights inside my car started to flash on end off, the steering wheel was getting hard and the vehicle was loosing power the break and gas petals started to get hard. I couldn't move the car no control and all the cars and 18 wheelers the passed almost killed me and could crashed behind me because they couldn't see the exterior light were off and all these other vehicles are also driving 60mph + I was crying and terrified I thought I was going to get hit so bad. I called the dealer very angry and crying and they had the never to say call the tow truck and have them get you. I asked for the manager which was still there which was the guy I would take too for the issue I had and I said you guys call the towing company and get me and my car! There's just so much to say that's not just the problem with them After that night I didn't my research and this people knew what was really happening to the car because most of their vehicles that they have now are having the same problem. To keep it short: They have terrible availability for basic maintenance like oils changes, filter changes, or for parts. They never have room or it very "full" ( they are not they are just short staffed) they always want to schedule moths later?!?! Like what I and my family have had Dodge, GMC, Ford, Lexus, and never have we had problems with the vehicles within the 1 to 2yrs and never did we had to wait months and for an oils change appointment. One thing they have a lot of is Sales Reps lol which don't care for you, they just was your sales and they very sarcastic. My last event was this past weeks my 2 tires got busted at the same time , and it was late to were most places were closed so I tried the road assistance that come with Kia and when I got Kia, they told the towing guy: "Why are you bringing the vehicle here ? Are they going to buy tires and rims from us and they guy told I don't know but this were she bought the car. They said no we not holding it. I said wow, so I payed to have the vehicle get taken somewhere else , I was definitely not going to buy anything from them after that. I had an engine failure while traveling out of town and a Kia dealership stated it was all under warranty and not a dime came out of pocket. Fast forward to 3 hours after picking up my car and my engine is making a noise. Talked to Kia customer service and they said I can take it to a dealership closer to my home. I get here and the lady at the front said $185 and the guy "that would know better" said $150 just to look at it. Not even to fix it. And if it was under warranty, why charge anything at all?! How they said it was completely rude and they weren't even on the same page. When questioned he said "we're different than other dealerships" What?! Go to any other dealership. Since the day I bought my Telluride (different dealership) the gas cap door has never sat quite flush. I assumed it was just how the gas cap doors are situated on Telluride. I took my Telluride to Westside Kia for recalls and asked them to see if they may be able to adjust the gas cap door while it was in. When I arrived to pick my car up, the Service Manager said the door was damaged and I asked him to show me where. When we got to the car, the gas cap door was flopping around like it was about to completely fall off and he opened it and said it was broken on the backside where it attaches to the open/close arm. The door was absolutely not broken like that when I took it in. I can only assume they broke the clips holding it on while trying to see if it could be adjusted or something. Anyhow, I told the service manager it wasn't broken like that when I brought it in and he said the tech told him it was. I asked if he could get the tech so we could talk about it and he said no. This effectively ends in he said/she said and I'm not going to argue with someone completely unwilling to listen to the truth. But I am certain the door was not broken like that when I took it in. I can see on the inside of the gas cap door where it is now broken and I am also certain that was not there before either. I am willing to accept there could have been some damage I couldn't see and was unaware of, but they made the problem significantly worse. Would be helpful if they had cameras in their shop to review for situations like this. Highly recommend going elsewhere for service. Although I spoke to a salesman about another vehicle while I was there and he seemed friendly. read more

I bought a used 2017 Expedition from Westside KIA in Katy Texas. Here is my experience: The CARFAX page said they were offering it for $28,500. When I was about to walk on the deal, the sales manager said he'd take $1,500 off. Over the next month I noticed these issues: * Taillight socket not working (before I got home) and could not pass inspection w/ fixing * Rear camera not working (2 weeks later) * Windows squeaking/lost seal lubrication (2 weeks later) * Rust on seat anchor bolts under the seats (4 weeks later) * Drain plug pulled under rear tool compartment * Respiratory problems for me for the last 3 wks (and I never get sick) About the same time that I am putting all the information above together, they call me telling me that they miscalculated the tax. So I went back and looked at the paperwork, and found that they charged $27,300 ($300 more than agreed) for the car and added a "consumer package" for $329.50. So I bring all these issues up. And their response is basically "Oh well, should have bought the extended warranty." I spoke with their sales manager and brought up the issue of possible flood damage. He said that they checked the CARFAX. I said that he also had his mechanic check it. When I said that he paused (and this guy never pauses. I'm pretty sure that from that response, he knew it had flood damage. I have a kid that has asthma and a heart condition. He hasn't been in the car much, so he's not been affected yet, but this is a big concern for me. read more

I purchased a '23 Kia Sorento in December of 2023. I initially only received one of two vehicle keys, my Kia Connect could not be set up and my all weather floor mats were not available. I had to return the next day to complete. I live approximately 70 miles round trip away from Westside Kia. The following day I arrived at the dealership and was informed they could not locate my additional key and after trying for approximately an hour, my Kia Connect still was not working. I was informed another vehicle was found and available to swap the following day. After a third visit, I was at Westside Kia for approximately 2 1/2 hours completing the swap. At this time, I noticed the door protective film installed along the driver side rear door had a portion peeling away. I spoke with Sales Manager Willie Suliveras about the issue. We agreed that this would be fixed when I picked up my permanent license plates. Again, the all weather floor mats were not available. Willie said he would arrange someone to deliver the floor mats to my home. After another week, I returned to Westside Kia for the fourth time to pick up the all weather floor mats as no one ever followed up on the promise to deliver them. Upon trying to install the floor mats, I discovered they did not fit. These were for a 2024 Kia Sorrento model. I exchanged the mats and received the correct ones. At the end of January I was notified my plates were available for pick up. I arrived at the dealership to pick up my plates and to fix the issue with the door protective film. Upon completion of my visit I was informed by my Service Advisor that the issue with the door protection film could not be fixed. They actually removed the entire film protective edge on the driver side rear door. Again, I spoke with Willie who informed me that Westside Kia does not offer that type of service, fixing the door protection film. I reminded him we agreed previously this would be addressed. I also tried following up with Customer Care Consultant Nancy Wargo, Sales Manager Rick Hall and General Manager Caitlin Auffenberg. But no one has reached out and my issue is still not resolved. The main reason I decided to purchase my vehicle from Westside Kia was because I thought I was supporting a local, family owned business. Buyers be ware! read more

This is for the Service Department. Last week I called to see if they were busy for an oil change for my Kia. They said the wait would be 4-5 hours and the rest of the week they were booked. The gentleman told me it would best to make an appointment so I did for the next week. I walk in and was told someone would be with me. Then I was greeted by a young lady. I told her I had an appointment for a oil change and was told it would be 2-3 hours. The last time I went in with NO appointment it took about 2 hours. Now I'm told to make an appointment for easy convenience. How can it take 2-3 hours when you have an appointment. I did not get my oil changed cause I wasn't going to wait 2-3 hours when I have an appointment. The system is broken. read more

It took over an hour for me to get to this Kia location because they had a hybrid vehicle on the lot I was interested in. The salesman (1week new) could not answer a single question regarding the vehicle and was unfamiliar with the layout, specs and operation of the infotainment system. They then got me to test drive another model, which is fine but I was concerned with a three star crash rating from ICHS and hadn't researched it. Over an hour of two (new staff with few answers) car salesmen sitting there trying to get me to commit and sign or set dates to revisit when I kept saying I felt pressured and wanted to research before buying anything fell on stereotypical car salesmen ears. This was the worst car shopping experiences I've ever had. I would advise people to drive across the state before coming to this dealership. read more

First let me say that my sales agent, Daniel Honesto did an awesome job, and I was very impressed and pleased with his service. On the manager/finance side I was very upset. I do not recall the name of the person, but I was there on 1/25 (when I did a test drive on the 2021 Seltos and the 2022 Soul) and again on 1/26. We talked about a Kia Seltos, and the offer was not at my price point. The manager was very pushy, and acted disgusted when I didn't take the offer he made. I continued with Daniel and started looking at a Kia Soul. I didn't get to an offer that I wished to on that either. After leaving that evening, I received a call from Daniel that said they were willing to meet my offer on the Seltos. I returned the morning of 1/26 and the paperwork was there for me to take to my credit union. Luckily while I was in the parking lot, I realized that there was a mistake. Went back in and it was fixed (by a different finance person), and I was clearly told that it would meet my price. I took the paperwork to the credit union, who then pointed out the paperwork actually showed the price was $2000 more than it was supposed to be. I then took the paperwork back AGAIN (the CU is 20 miles from the dealership) to get it fixed. At that time the original finance person came to talk to me, and once again was rude and acted disgusted that I wasn't willing to take the offer. At that point, I walked out. I did end up going to another Kia dealer in order to continue my consideration of getting a Kia. Again, I really want to emphasize that Daniel did a great job, but in all honesty, I will not be shopping at Westside Kia in the future. read more

After they ordered i had to go back another 20 miles to get it and asked if they would provide the LABOR ONLY for an oil change for my troubles and the GDSM said NO. this ONLY costs $14.00. Purchased my car here and was impressed with the sales. This is where it stops. I recently needed to bring my car in for a recall. I called to set up an appointment. Spoke to a woman who took my information and said I would get a call back. Cam back went to voicemail so I had to start from scratch. Next woman looks at schedule and gives me a date 2 weeks out. Also started that they would need to have the car for 8 hours. Absolutely unflexible. Car went to Fort Bend Kia that same week. Work was done in 1 hour. Will not use Westside ever again. read more
