One of the worst service experiences I've had I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating service experience at AutoNation Ford Katy (20777 Katy Fwy) that began on March 7, 2026 and took seven days to resolve due to repeated mistakes, lack of accountability, and unprofessional behavior from management. I brought my vehicle in for: * Oil change * Tire rotation * Windshield wiper rubber insert replacement only (not full blade replacement) Despite being very clear about the wiper request, I discovered immediately after leaving that my entire wiper blades had been replaced against my instructions. When I brought this to the attention of the service advisor (Randy), he appeared confused and dismissive. Only one of my original wiper blades could be located, and I was told the technician had already left for the day--suggesting my vehicle was rushed. No accountability was taken, and no solution was offered. Because AutoNation could not correct its own mistake, I had to go to Honda, where I was told I would need to buy new blades since one was missing. I had to rush back to AutoNation before closing just to retrieve the single blade that was found so I wouldn't have to buy two replacements. Shortly after leaving Honda, my tire pressure light came on, which was concerning given that a tire rotation and air check had supposedly been done. The next day, I discovered one valve cap was completely stuck, making it impossible to add air--confirming the service had not been properly completed and that no issue was disclosed. When I returned on Monday to request reimbursement for: 1. The wipers AutoNation incorrectly charged me for. 2. The replacement wiper I had to purchase due to their mistake. I encountered extremely rude and dismissive behavior from a manager named Don, who interrupted me, spoke condescendingly, and showed zero interest in resolving the issue. Although he acknowledged the stuck valve cap, he claimed they "didn't have the right size" to fix it--something Honda corrected immediately. Honda also washed my car, which AutoNation didn't do. Reimbursement was delayed and incorrect multiple times, and my name and address were misspelled on both the invoice and checks--showing sloppy handling of customer information. The only bright spot in this entire experience was Henry, another manager. Henry reviewed everything, immediately acknowledged the mistakes, corrected the reimbursements properly, took ownership of the situation, and followed through exactly as promised. He demonstrated genuine professionalism, accountability, and respect--something noticeably absent elsewhere during this ordeal. It is upsetting that a simple service visit escalated into a week-long issue because one manager refused to help. This location's lack of workmanship, professionalism, and accountability reflects very poorly on the AutoNation brand. I strongly urge corporate leadership to review management conduct and service procedures at this dealership. If not for Henry, this situation likely would not have been resolved at all. read more

I asked the salesperson, Vyncent: "Would you sell a vehicle to a customer without a jack? Would you sell a vehicle with missing lug nuts and then argue it was sold 'as is'? If five days had not already passed since the purchase, I would be returning the Bronco tonight and asking for my money back." He replied: "Yessir, I understand, and I wouldn't purposely sell anything unsafe or with missing pieces if squared away at purchase. If your management wants to quibble over something this trivial, that is their prerogative--but it is reason enough never to do business with your dealership again. I leased a Ford Explorer from them and they had an Add-On I had to purchase for $749.00. for "Paintless Dent Repair of Minor Dents and Hail Damage Less than 4 Inches". I had hail damage at my house last month, and they said I had to go through my insurance company and file a claim with them. They would pay my deductible, but why should my insurance have to pay for something they made me purchase. I asked for my money back for this add-on hail damage insurance claim. This was a $70,000 cash deal -- no financing, no trade-in -- and it still took them almost a week to complete because of pure disorganization and terrible communication. I had to call him multiple times a day just to get basic answers, and every time he acted like he didn't know who I was or what truck I was buying. He couldn't provide pricing within the same day and constantly dropped the ball. His manager, Oscar, wasn't any better. No urgency, no follow-through, no accountability. The attitude from both of them was basically, "We've got plenty of customers -- take it or leave it." After repeatedly requesting our paperwork, the dealership initially sent us only a product menu, which revealed that over $9,000 in optional products (maintenance plan, vehicle protection, tire & wheel, windshield, appearance, theft protection, etc.) had been added to the loan. When we finally received the full Retail Installment Sales Contract, there was no signed page showing acceptance of these products and no page showing our declinations -- yet the products were embedded directly into the amount financed. When questioned, the finance department stated they would "start the cancellation process," confirming the products had been added and needed to be reversed. This is something customers should never have to discover after the fact. We are now waiting for thousands of dollars to be removed from our loan -- something that would have gone unnoticed if we hadn't carefully checked our lender balance. Had to go to Discount Tire to have my wheel locks removed. Then when I got home I noticed they didn't change the oil filter. I was afraid of buying a truck from a car dealer. It had been a good 40 years since I even walked into a car dealership. Why? Basically, car dealers, especially used car dealers way back in the day were kind of unscrupulous. From the hidden problems, to the high pressure and exorbitant interest rates, let's just say I had a bad taste in my mouth that lasted a long time, I need a work truck and I wanted a Ford 350 Diesel 4X4 Super Duty Crew Cab. I had been looking for about 4 months. I looked at CarGuru, Facebook Marketplace, Auto Auctions, Craig's List, Auto Trader and all the other online areas but could not find the right truck for the right price. Through one of my online inquiries, I was contacted by a young man named Comlan Amoussou from AutoNation Ford Katy. He had an F 350 at their dealership. When I heard the word dealership, I immediately was suspect. I spoke with him and after a while my trust level opened up a bit. The subject truck checked all my boxes but I had not physically seen it yet. I asked Comlan to get me pictures of this area and that area and each and every time he complied. I think I purposely was a little hard on him to see if I could detect a bit of BS; but I could not. He simply wanted me to see this truck because he believed in it and believed it was just what I was looking for. Imagine my surprise?! So I saw the truck and drove it with him. It was perfect and the price was fair. I agreed to buy the truck. They of course wanted to provide me financing. This is quite normal. But I wanted my use my bank. This makes it a bit more complicated. Comlan introduced me to Ryan Bernard the Sales Manager and he explained the process that we needed to go through for outside financing and, once again, tried to match my Bank's interest rate. I explained I had been banking with this bank for over 25 years and I was going to use them and, to my surprise, every action after that point was to get 'er done my way. One other thing before I forget, AutoNation Katy Ford puts each used car and truck through an extremely comprehensive review and they really do it. You can ask for that review and it is readily supplied. Trust me when I say, car dealers back in the day would never do that! I have the truck and its perfect. One last note, when you walk in there are many sales persons and you cant walk 50 feet without being offered some assistance. Now, one may think that is a negative, but this place has many sales persons and you can feel the positive energy/vibes in the air. In other words, they are doing things right and it shows. If you have no issues whatsoever, this dealership MAY be okay, but heaven help you if you have any issues. Just look at their BBB rating (spoiler alert, it's an "F"). Trying to get through their automated system is a nightmare as well. It just keeps you in this virtual loop of wait for operator and then sends you right back to automated menu. I purchased a 2025 Ford Explorer on April 24 from Auto Nation Ford in Katy, Tx. It immediately started throwing "trailer unhitched" or "trailer battery not charging" errors. I took it in May 4 for a "15 minute repair" which took all day. Picked up that evening and it threw the error before I even got out of parking lot. They drove it to the back and said fixed so I left. It threw error again before I even made it home. I asked if they could order a part since whatever they were doing wasn't solving problem. They said yes. I asked if I could have a loaner car and was told, "we stopped doing that three weeks ago. We can get you in a rental the day of your repair." I waited a week, no update. I called and left a message for service tech and received no response. After two weeks with no update, I called and left a message for the service manager. Once again, I received no return phone call. Several days later, I called again and actually got the service guy handling my car. He said they had ordered part but had no way of knowing ETA as when ordered through Ford system, no ETA is given. I again asked for loaner car and was told not available. At this point I lost the sale of my previous vehicle as I needed it. I kept having to chase tech for updates and was told at one point that part would be in on the 10th. I asked how good an estimate this was as he had previously said he couldn't tell. His response through text- Not very good. Ford is dumb with thier parts. They will send an alert stating so many being shipped on this date and when you check and the date they just change it. But what the parts director said is that 47 pieces being shipped on that day from the hub and then it goes to the dealerships. Yours is on an emergency order so it better come in Well, it didn't come in (had to chase this response for a couple of days). I left messages for GM three times (including directly to voice mail on one of the occasions) and never got a return call. I made a payment on a very expensive paper weight that is sitting in my garage. I paid insurance, interest, etc on something I couldn't even drive and no one even tried to help me. I purchased extended warranties that are time based....they don't care. So, if you too find yourself in this position with this dealership, please reach out to the head of customer service at elena.ford@ford.com or post to the Ford social media accounts. Within 12 hours, I got a text that they did have a loaner car for me (June 18). I picked it up and dropped my car off. Finally on July 3, it was ready. When I went to pick it up, I noticed a scratch on the car that had not been there when I dropped it off. Fortunately, I had taken pictures and video before dropping off. The service guy said he took pictures as well and he would have the car detailed on Monday, July 7 which would remove the scratch. I also noted that the interior of my car was full of mud. His response through text - "Yeah our parking lot for service is in the back we call the dirt lot because it is literally a dirt lot." Well here we are on July 22 and they still haven't done what they said they would do. Service tech won't even return my calls or texts. I will update resolution but during the "Summer Sales Event" please head down the road to Mac Haik Ford (10333 Katy Freeway). It is literally a few miles from Auto Nation Ford Katy and I promise you, you'll be happier. I have never had such horrible customer service from sales, financing, service, or management. Purchased ford preowned truck with faulty leaking suspension shocks, considered normal wear and tear by this ford used car manager ML, and also others behind the desk. Stating this is not a road safety hazard/risk. Took 10+ days to deliver my vehicle from point of sale to me with negative effort in communication, a/c went out on day one, and was replaced holding vehicle longer for repairs. Sent formal letter and valid inspection report with photos and signatures via email when manager was not found in person and no response or callback received. Called after several days and was told the costs were going to be my own and not covered by autonation ford Katy. Requested to communicate with the general manager and used manager said he would not even respond or agree if I were able to contact GM, which no contact information was provided for remedy to this problem. I remained patient from the beginning of the sale process and saw the manipulation and taking advantage of leniency given. A formal report would be made to the DMV at this point for negligence, dishonor, bad business. read more

Wired them 4000 deposit to hold new Mustang. They received it. I had a purchase order and letter for my bank showing they will have lien. Bank confirmed our finance. My bank spent hours with their sales manager to get paperwork right. This was Wednesday. Then we hear Thursday from salesman if cannot pick up tomorrow and change our finance with them they will not hold it. Never heard of a dealership doing this. Already had it discussed before the 4000 deposit I would pick up next week because of work. Liars. Cannot be trusted! Their purchase order, letter to bank, my deposit, and many conversations with salesman meant nothing. not to mention they texted me just hours before that they had to change vehicle because accidentally got rid of the one in my paperwork. So new vin. I had to change it with bank and my insurance company. Then hours later if do not come get it tomorrow they will not honor deal. He sold me on the car over the phone but when I got there he just wasted my time making excuses that I couldn't see the car for 2 hours. Lost a deal lost a customer and I lost my time. my car had to be towed there for a flat tire. I thought the Warrenty company was bringing it to the nearest jeep dealer but they dropped it at auto nation in Katy. They charged me almost $100 more for the same tire from Gilman jeep, and more than $130 more than Walmart for the same tire. they use the same website at both Gillman and auto nation, yet somehow they managed to rip me off. I was held hostage since the car was there and had to pay the exorbitant charges. To add insult to injury, they said one of the tire sensors needed to be replaced and quoted me $130, $100 more than other vendors. Plus, they blatantly lied to me that Gilman was running a special and that price was only per tire if you bought four. In writing, Gilman stated that was not true. I would never take my car there again. I hate being lied to and ripped off. read more

Omar particularly thought he knew more than me on just about every topic and actually lied to my face about added on fees. I will never do business with them and I encourage you not to as well. read more
