My experience today started late Friday when the battery in the Ford Fusion went out. I intended to replace it myself Saturday, but I had to work and I was super busy so I had no time and of course they are closed on Sundays. I also found out that my car needed a safety recall. Today, I took it to Auto Nation Ford in Katy and was nicely greeted by the service advisor Tom. At first everything went pretty smoothly; I got the car turned in, was explained the warranty policy clearly, wrote up the recall repair, and was given a ride to work. This is the extent of the pleasantries. I already expected that my car was no priority since I was a walk in with a minor issue and a simple recall. So the time frame was never an issue. Some time about lunch, I got a call from Tom to follow up and say the recall tech reported my rear brakes were in need of immediate attention. I immediately thought this was off. The car was purchased just over a year ago and had new tires and brakes installed just prior to us purchasing the car. I didn't say anything yet. I let the car get the work it needed and asked if I could get a shuttle ride back to Auto Nation Ford. When I spoke to Tom, he seemed a bit more than annoyed with me, however he obliged my request and asked what address I'd be at. I responded with the Audi store right down the street from him and his response was, "call me back with the exact address with zip code" then THEN HUNG UP!!! I thought this was an uncalled for response, but I politely called back a couple minutes later and left a message with the address with zip code. After I declined the brakes, his tone seemed to change and I always had to leave a message. I would urge Auto Nation to listen to those calls. When I got back to Auto Nation to pick up the car, Tom handed me my report to give to the cashier, told me to see them and never looked me in the eye. No hand shake, thanks for coming in, summary of services performed, nothing. Just plain piss poor customer service. So I left. When I got back to the shop, I inspected my brakes myself and immediately knew the technician did not actually inspect anything. It was clear my wheel was never removed and the measurements i took didn't tell me my brakes were bad, so I turned right around to discuss this with Tom. When I got there, Tom was obviously less than excited to see me come back. I asked point blank how the technician determined that my brakes were in the red, as we say, which means needs immediate attention, and what the measurements were on the pads and rotors. He proceeded to look up the report from the technician and tell me the rotors were fine, but the pads were only 2 millimeters thick. In case you might not be aware, below 3 is considered bad, 2 would be flirting with dangerous. I asked him to contact the technician and ask how he measured the brakes. He does and the technician tells him he didn't measure them, it was a visual inspection. Last I knew eyeballs aren't a measuring tool. While we might be used to spotting bad pads and rotors, we still have a responsibility to prove our findings. It was pretty clear this tech had only an up sell on his mind, not my best interests. Needless to say, I advised this tech be spoken with about his unsavory method. I made it clear that I did not appreciate what I considered deceptive practices. My diagnosis, brakes might be a yellow, but I measured the pads at a 5, not 2. I took the wheel off and measured the inner pads at 5 as well. Maybe I'm taking this too personally. I am a tech too, after all. This is almost insulting. I take the responsibility of caring for a customer seriously. The money will come, bit it doesn't need to come in the form of a bogus report prepared by a reckless technician. I will not deal with Auto Nation Ford in Katy TX any further. I called auto nation to get my vehicle serviced and when I did they asked for the vin number and what kind of car and gave me an appointment for couple of. days later and when I asked how long would it take they said depending on the job so I asked if I just want to do diagnostic and pay the fee then I was told they can do that in the same day and pay 139 since my car is not diesel so I said that is ok .on my appointment i showed up early waited like everyone else till I got to speak to mr Robert in the service that supposed was handeling my appointment and after less than 30 second he told me you know that your vehicle is going to be there till Monday and we were Friday and you know it's going to be 250 and he wanted to keep on going so I said hold on I was told that it could be done the same day and he stated no .I said that what I was told when I booked the appintment so he said no I'm sorry we are so busy and we can't finish the report till Monday so I told him I don't need the report but I need to take the truck by the end of the day and it was 7 am so he said no are not going to look at your truck till Monday so I told him if that is the case why I wasn't told that you guys are too busy to service me the way I want not the way you guys want .if I was told the truth it will be my choice to come here or to go somewhere else or to stay sleeping since I m wirk the night shift and I got to stay up and get a ride home so he stated that no dealer would take you and finish the truck the same day I said it will be my choice and I would be ready for that when they tell me accurate information so I asked for a manger to discuss this so robert rudely said no you are not going to talk to a manger then I said at this point with the way you spoke to me definitely I would be sure to talk to one . A service manager came backed up his employee and said that the tele company that book the appointments are not well trained and didn't .ask them before booking the appointment sand offered nothing to fix the issue I called the company that book the appointments and not only I was surprised that they work for auto nation Katy only but they talk to the service department after saying they will review the recording when I booked the appointment and still got me no fix for the issue and no responsibility or care for what happened and they added your vehicle is oversize this is why they can't do it in the same day even though my issue is just plugging a machine that read the data on the car computer and no lift nothing so this was the worst excuse specially that they were given the vin number and knew exactly what kind of car it was ,I called the main ford number to complain about this and I was told they will let automation know I think we wonder why less people are buying for d cars If you don't care about your customers time I would think twice before buying ford again They could've looked at my truck and skip the waiting considering the mistake they did but yet they too good to do that and instead if me receiving an apology email asking how can they fix it ,they sent me one asking to buy my vehicle .this is kind of insulting for someone that's not even aware of how the customer was treated in their place read more

This review is largely about the pre-owned staff. After a VERY beyond disappointing experience looking for some used cars at Honda of Katy (we saw 2 Fits, and they were both in atrocious condition, I could not believe they were asking more than 8k for those cars, seriously), we ended up finding a used KIA Soul online that happened to be here, at Autonation Ford. I've dealt with a few dealerships before, and generally find it a terrible experience, so I was surprised when I saw so many positive reviews for one, but this place really was amazing. My husband inquired online about the availability of the car, and Joshua Terry got back to us with an even better price than we were anticipating. I went in to see the car, LOVED it (it was in the kind of condition I would expect when buying a used car from a dealership), and loved working with Josh. The salesmen there are not "vultures," like many of the previous ones I've worked with. Josh was straightforward, honest, kind, understanding, and thorough. This place didn't try to tack on a million different secret items or fees or try to sell me on ANYTHING extra, and I really appreciated that. Josh was seriously so pleasant to work with. The car price was straightforward (and honestly was a very good deal), they break everything down for you, and there was no ridiculous back and fourth to go through. My husband wanted to see the car but I knew we'd definitely be buying it, and so Josh made sure the car was saved for us until my husband could come see it when he got home from work. The only reason I give 4 stars is because of our interaction with the finance lady. It took almost 2 hours just to see her, which was really rough on us because my mom was baby sitting our infant and we hadn't had dinner yet (it was 8:30 by the time we saw her). Both Josh and the receptionist were very thoughtful though, checking on us and consistently letting us know how much longer we would be looking at before it was our turn, so that was nice. But the finance lady... she DID try to sell us a bunch of crap we did not want, and really seemed to be talking down to my husband and I. I get that most of the people who come through her door actually need that kind of guidance but my husband and I have a lock down on our finances and we know what we're doing. So after waiting 2 hours to even SEE her, she began to annoy us quite quickly. Luckily we were only with her for about 20-30 more minutes, then Josh gave us our keys and we left! I could not possibly be more pleased with my experience at this dealership. They will be the first place I go next time we're looking for a car (and I so hope Josh is still there by then! lol) read more

I purchased a new F150, Texas Edition from AutoNation Ford in Katy on April 29, 2014. I actually had a very good experience with them and James Purdy in Internet sales in particular. Ford was having a large rebate/sale during April and I had been checking the internet for prices. I contacted several Dodge and Ford dealerships via internet. James Purdy with Auto Nation responded very quickly to my initial internet request and also presented several additional options that were similar to my initial request. He was very honest about his inventory and available trucks that met my needs. When I arrived at the dealership later that morning, we looked at the various trucks and I picked one to test drive. We went for an extended test drive and even went to pick up my wife at her job so she could see the vehicle. James was very accommodating and helpful with all my questions. After the drive was over, I asked him if he would hold the truck for me until that night so that I could check out a few other dealerships. I told him I would let him know what I decided that evening. He promised that he would, and he did. When I arrived back at the dealership later that evening, he still had the keys on his desk. The price for the vehicle with all the rebates was extremely competitive with all the other dealerships, within a few dollars, so there was really no haggling to be done. However, I had a rather old car for trade and knew that would be the place where issues could pop up. I knew the value of that vehicle very well and what I expected to get (wanted). James went the extra mile to get his management to give me a very good trade value, I added a couple of upgrades (bed lining and bed cover). They even dealt smartly with me on these. As it was already late that night, he didn't hesitate to give me a brand new loner truck to drive for the next day or so while they did the installations. It turns out that after the installations and while the car was being prepped for delivery, he found a paint chip on the finder that I had missed. He wanted to fix that before I picked it up so he told me to just keep driving the loner. I was out of town when he called on Thursday morning to tell me that it was ready. I explained that I might be back before they closed that evening but was not sure and if not, could I keep it till Friday morning. He said, absolutely and no problem. I picked up my new truck on Friday morning and it was perfect. I am extremely pleased with the sales service and attention that James gave me and would buy another vehicle from him in the future. By far this was the easiest truck purchase I've ever made. After viewing inventory online, and calling to verify vehicle was on the lot, I arrived and asked to speak with someone in sales rather than the sales folks standing around out front. (My experience is they are useless at any dealership) I was introduced to Chet Emmons. I mentioned that I already selected the vehicle I wanted and verified the price I viewed online. He promptly took me to check the truck and asked If I had my financing lined up. I had already lined up financing through my own bank, but without a hard sell, Chet illustrated the advantage of using FMC financing with only a small difference in interest rate. Having excellent credit helps, but surprisingly, I actually came out ahead using FMC rather than my own bank. The sales price on the truck was $1500-2000 cheaper than the 2 other dealers I checked in comparison, and actually had a couple of extra dealer package features. I believe the basis for this is that AutoNation Ford in Katy is a very high volume dealer. The particular model I purchased was not a baseline or luxury model. It turned out to be a mid/level truck with a baseline price. Chet took the time to show me many of the cool features and even assisted in pairing up my mobile device prior to leaving the lot. He answered all questions and even followed up on his day off via cell phone when I needed something. As expected, I had to meet with the finance/warranty sales office. No hard selling here. The salesman simply asked what my intended use/ownership history might be and we were able to craft a warranty/service packed tailored to my needs. When I said no to a few items, he agreed that it would be wasteful. The prices for the extended warranty were very reasonable, and I also opted for the prepaid service plan (which is usage based/not mileage or time based). Very comforting to know than the truck is under warranty longer than it is financed, as I tend to keep vehicles longer than 5 years. I am a competent mechanic, but having the dealer service the vehicle for roughly the same price as DIY with the ability to avoid any warranty denials was a no-brainer. After owning the truck for 5 months, I have had zero issues. I also get service reminders as needed via email. Very satisfied overall with the vehicle, the sales process, and the follow up. I definitely recommend them to all, and will purchase from again. read more

I wanted to write a review about my experience with AutoNation Ford Katy in order to commend them on the excellent job they did. About 5 months ago when the Harvey Storm wiped us out we went to Mac Haik Ford to get 2 new cars. This was the first time I'd ever walked into a for dealership with ford and felt disgusted when I left. It's a long story but bottom line was I went in there, get approached by a salesmen. Nice guy sure, but had no idea the answer to any question we asked. And I said to him look, we lost everything we owned, I have 3 ford trucks before this, going to buy 2 more, but I don't want to get into the negotiations etc...I just want to trust you will all take care of us and give us the best price as a loyal ford customer and give us a good deal. Well the experience was the exact opposite of this while they gave us quotes that were too high, playing good cop/bad cop with the sales manager etc...Only lowering price when we were walking away. Exactly what we didn't want. Even said to sales manager the same thing "we lost everything, need new cars, please just give us the best you can". His exact words "Well everyone's got the same story so..." He had no interest in helping us... Needing a car I decided to just get one and left with the worst feeling I've ever had buying a car. Even when I left with a $70k+ car it ended up with 6800 miles on it, didn't wash the inside or outside of it (step up was disgusting, there was sticky stuff on the inside), and in the end I paid for a used demo more than I could have gotten a brand new truck had I just went to AutoNation. For the 2nd car we went there instead. We run into Alistair D who ended up being amazing. He knew everything we needed to know, helped us shop, was transparent about the price, was responsive, helped us get a good deal and we finally got our 2nd car. This guy was really everything we were hoping in a Ford Salesmen. He has earned a ford customer for life. I was about to buy my first non-ford car out of spite for Mac Haik because though the manager called me back when I wrote a bad review, he never returned any of my 3 messages I left him back. About to go by a Cadillac we tried out Ford Nation Katy and ended up staying a loyal ford customer. Al, great job my friend! Truly appreciate everything. I came over to AutoNation of Katy just to browse around and check out pricing. I was not bothered under any circumstance when I got to the lot. I browsed for about 20-30 minutes checking a lot of trucks out and finally wanted to do some test drives in some new F-150s. I went in to the dealership and found Christopher Blair. I mentioned to him that I was just starting the process of looking. He showed me a few different options to chose from and then we test drove two different trucks with the different engines available. I knew what I wanted after the fact. I had a good truck from the beginning and just thought I would start looking. Chistopher did not under any circumstance pressure me in any way, which I sincerely appreciated. I knew I could walk away at any point and not have that terrible feeling in my gut. They did an apprasal on my older truck that had a few miles on it and came back over to me with a number that was much less than I was willing to take. I told him right off that I already knew how much my truck was worth trading into a dealer and that I would not take less than that. He came back with a number that was much better and I was much happier with and could live with if I chose to do this. At this point it was all up to what I wanted in my new truck. It took me a few days to nail down everything I wanted, but came back in and told him everything that I wanted in a truck(color, ammmenities, 4X4, etc). He did not have the one I wanted on his lot but went and got it the next day. I was very happy with what I saw. Again, no pressure to buy. I wanted what I saw and proceeded forward. Christopher was great by keeping me up to speed on everything that was going on throughout the entire process which I thank him tremendously for. I also want to say thank you to Christopher for not putting any undue stress upon me making the whole experience very pleasant. When I went into the finance department, it was even more laid back. The finance manager, I believe was Chad, gave me some options of warrantees and other things, again with no pressure to buy or add to my bottom line. I bought one of the items with cash and decided to wait on the others for a later time. In all, this was probably the best truck buying experience I have ever had. Been looking for a truck for a coupla weeks. Went to several dealerships looking at inventory. Decided to look at what Autonation Ford Katy had in stock. Met Ms Janie Green, excellent salesperson by the way, personable, approachable, willing to answer questions as best she could. Wasnt pushy. Took us for a test drive whatever vehicle we wanted to try. Went back a few days later. Still looking, not quite sure we were completely decided on what we wanted; Ford has SO MANY many choices in new vehicles, so many engines, body styles, option packages, colors, wheel sizes, plus all the rebates! So we were get getting down to the wire as the rebates and the year was coming to a close. I'd been online looking at all kinds of vehicles, all the different options, what we wanted to pay, what was available, etc. Deciding it's time to buy a vehicle and spending this much money is a BIG deal, after all. We had just looked at another vehicle at another dealer - different dealers having different inventory - 6 pm New Eve night, and came back to Autonation Ford Katy. Went in to see if Janie was busy. we talked. She had our trade in evaluated. gave us a price for the truck and the for the trade in. We were just so unsure. The one they had was a higher level model than what we wanted to pay. So we needed to talk it over. Janie went to see about something. She comes back and tells us her manager gave an offer we just couldnt say no to. Clearly, these folks wanted our business. We got a very nice Ford F150 Crewcab at a good price that we were happy with. True it had more options than we wanted or needed do to the extra price level, but they made it so we could afford it. The Ford Credit financing was within reason. and by the time the paperwork was done, the truck was ready for delivery. We'd recommend Janie Green as a salesperson if you want good customer service in a low pressure environment. It helped that we'd done our homework, but she has a personal way that didnt turn us off, as many salespeople do. My father was in need of a car so I gave him my 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE. I decided to upgrade and buy a used 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium. I shopped around and did quite a bit of research and decided to choose working with Autonation Ford - Katy, Texas. This dealership is quite a distance from where I live. But, the salesman, Adrian, was responsive and tenacious with emails. I drove down there twice and I looked at a 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium that was perfect for me with the exception of some scrapes on the bottom front bumper. That was the only thing preventing me from buying the car when I sat down with Adrian to discuss buying the car. The manager spoke to me and said that they would need to get an estimate from their in-house paint person to see if they could do it for the advertised price. The manager said to me that all they want to do is make me happy as a customer. The next day Adrian said it was a go and sent me pictures of the repainted bumper. I was totally satisfied from what I saw in the pictures. I went out an got a cashier's check for the full amount and told Adrian that I would be in next day to pay for the car in full and drive it home. He mentioned to me that it was his day off. He offered to come on his day off so that I could pick up the car, but I said that I would be happy to pick it up when he returned to work. As I prepared to pick up the car, I received a call from Adrian informing me that the car was sold to someone else on his day off. I was shocked. Had it not been intimated to me that the car was set aside for me to pick up as a formality, I would have put some money down on the car. But, I took the words of my sales representative and the sales manager at face value. I learned a very important lesson. This said, they transformed what could have been a perfect transaction into an example of how not to conduct business. I can not say enough words to comprehend how great my experience was. Derek Reutlinger was our sales guy and we spent a lot of time talking and texting to find the right vehicle. Well, he did just that before we ever even came to the dealership. He held it over night for us and when we showed up the next day it was perfect and we ended up buying it. He listen to everything I wanted and how much we wanted to pay and he made it happen. You would think that would be it but nope. Dereks manager (Steven Medsger) called us an hour before we went up there and made sure everything was going smoothly and told us if we needed anything to let him know. When we were there he even took the time to come introduce himself and talked to us long after he was supposed to have left for the day. The amazing service we received that day doesn't even stop there. When we got to finance it was late (9:30pm we were the only people left) and Sergio Martinez was so patient with us. We had two kids (21 moths and 6 years old) who were as tired as we were but he handled it like a pro and was very understanding. I can't even explain how it felt to have these guys so understanding of the kids being tired and cranky. He walked us through all the paperwork and warranties. He never made us feel pressured to buy anything extra and to be honest that was a relief because I feel a lot of dealerships really push that stuff. We didn't feel rushed ever in the process. I am sure these guys were ready to get home as by the time we were done it was 11pm but they never showed it. Even after we bought our vehicle I have reached out to Steven to tell them how awesome our experience was and we had a great talk. I have also reached out to Derek and Sergio with questions and they always get back to me quickly with answers. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the recent, and frankly unacceptable, customer service experience I have encountered at AutoNation Ford Katy. As a loyal customer who has purchased multiple vehicles from your dealership, I am disheartened to see such a significant decline in the quality of service. On October 23rd, my 2021 F-150 began experiencing computer system malfunctions. Despite towing the vehicle to your dealership on October 30th, I was not informed of additional towing fees and was left in the dark regarding the status of my vehicle for days. I repeatedly had to initiate contact to receive updates, and my requests for a manager's call were ignored. On November 4th, I was finally informed of a faulty gateway module, covered by the extended warranty. However, I was also told that the battery needed replacement, despite a pre-tow inspection indicating sufficient charge. This unnecessary expense, coupled with the ongoing delays and lack of communication, has been incredibly frustrating. As the days passed, the situation worsened. On November 11th, I was informed that the technician had not shown up for work, further delaying the repair process. The following day, I had to personally verify the status of my vehicle and, upon arrival, discovered that the promised technician was absent. The culmination of these issues, including disrespectful interactions with staff and the discovery of gasoline fumes in my vehicle upon pickup, has left me feeling completely disregarded and disrespected. I have never experienced such a level of poor customer service. I am deeply concerned that this is not an isolated incident, but rather indicative of a systemic problem within your organization. I urge you to take immediate action to address these issues and implement measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future. read more

I have bought 5 trucks/SUVs there over the years. The recent sales experiences in buying 2011/2012/2013 ford trucks was a challenge in "bait and switch"..sales staff are not reputable and the pressure from the accounting manager to finish the paperwork on the sales is disgusting. I used to deal with a guy now departed there, that just gave me fleet price and all the rebates offered...that was it...If you don't have your wits you will go in for a silk purse and come out with a sows ear that you didn't want. I have had verbal fights and arguments with these folks...but I have always made the deal that I wanted after lots of anguish. If you like that then you can buy a car there. for example the "internet deal" is bait and when you get in they don't have it handy...After demanding that deal...I finally won and then they tried to do the add on routine -body protection, tire protection, extended warranty......walked out once and of course they begged me back..finally got what I wanted. Service department is hit and miss. recently I got a full tuneup on 65000 mile truck and afterwards and $850 my gas mileage has dropped...strange. I am going back to challenge the work that was done. also - getting an interior vacuuming at the end they took out one back mat and didn't replace...3 calls to different service managers have resulted in nothing!!! I am next going to go back and demand higher manager and make complaint...for a cheap back mat they could have said come in and we will give you a new one... If you like to fight you can probably get what you want. The service department is spotty depending upon your manager...don't trust anything. Like one would say..."if their mouth is moving, they are lying"...Not all of them but enough that it is not a rare occurrence. read more

I recently purchased a 2014 GMC Acadia with 37K miles for my wife and 2 children, 1 1/2 and newborn. I raised concerns with the A/C Unit and was told that it would be recharged and I noticed that it had been serviced when it was traded in. I was told by Joey Hagar that they would look into it and nothing was done. Less than 30 days later and after numerous days in Texas heat, we couldn't take it anymore and took our vehicle to Autonation Chevrolet Gulf. I was told that the Rear Evap was bad and needed to be replaced. Good thing I bought the warranty. It was replaced, but was notified that we needed all 4 new tires. I reached out to Mr. Hagar and was told, "Nothing is gonna make you happy, so can I replace 2 tires? We are passed the A/C, aren't we?" I told him that I would ask my wife if she was okay with it, so I sent him the invoice that he asked for to verify and I went a step further and sent him the assessment as well. He then called back and said that the tread depth was 4/32 and he couldn't help me since they only replace if the tread depth is 3/32. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I buy a vehicle and have to immediately spend over $1,000 after first month. He replies with, "Well you don't need them yet, it still has some time." ARE YOU JOKING? I have a wife and 2 infants, the whole reason I bought the SUV, an UNSAFE SUV!!!! Thanks for nothing! I will definitely NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP! To top it off, I called the GM's direct line and left a message, with no response. Now all I get is a email every other day telling me it's time to replace my tires.WORST SERVICE EVER!!! read more
