Want to hear a crazy story? I drove over an hour to purchase a truck that was advertised for $64,000. When I arrived, it suddenly became $74,000 out the door due to dealer add-ons and questionable fees. After negotiating, we agreed on $70,000 OTD. Management then tried to sell me an 8.9% APR despite excellent credit and nearly 30% down. After pushing back, they "magically" found 4.99%. The truck had more scratches than advertised. Before I signed, I was promised the scratches would be professionally repaired within two days and the truck would be delivered to my home.That promise was the only reason I agreed to buy. From that point forward, communication was terrible. I repeatedly had to call for updates because no one contacted me.Delivery was delayed, and when the truck finally arrived, the scratches were still there with an obvious, poor-quality attempt at repair. When I asked them to honor what they promised, they wanted me to sign paperwork I wasn't comfortable with before committing to fixing the truck. I simply requested written documentation of what would be repaired and an estimated timeline. Instead of honoring their commitment, management blamed me for "rushing" them, claimed they don't put money into used vehicles like this, and said I was being unrealistic. The "General Manager" then accused me of rejecting delivery (I never did--I only asked them to complete the agreed-upon repairs), canceled the deal, claimed my signed contract "didn't exist," kept both the truck and my $20,000 down payment, and told me I'd have to wait for my money back. I even drove back to the dealership and called the police because they refused to return either the truck or my funds that day. After multiple broken promises about returning my money, I ultimately had to make another one-hour drive just to pick up my own $20,000 check. This was the worst vehicle buying experience I've ever had. Broken promises, misleading pricing, poor communication, and management that refused to take responsibility for commitments made by their own staff. Thankfully I got my money back, but I would strongly recommend shopping elsewhere. This is the condensed version. GM Frank Luna told me my money was nothing to him and hung up on me. I spoke with Archie, the General Manager, at 5:34 p.m. today regarding a 2025 Kia Sportage that was posted online. We discussed the price, warranties, mileage, features, and options on this loaner vehicle in detail. I made it clear that I was coming down to see it and purchase it today. Archie even told me to ask for Mickey, the Sales Manager. When I arrived, Mickey had no idea I was coming--he was not expecting me. Once we sat down, I was told the vehicle was actually loaned out and not even on the lot. Additionally, the vehicle had 6,000-7,000 miles on it, not the 3,000 miles advertised online or confirmed over the phone. They attempted to "make good" with another deal, but it wasn't even close to comparable. This is a textbook example of deceptive marketing and bait-and-switch tactics: lure customers in with an attractive offer, then try to sell them something more expensive. What's worse, the General Manager, who knew I was coming, did not even have the courtesy to speak to me or apologize for wasting my time. I was told repairs would take a week, but after countless calls and broken promises, I showed up to find it still unfinished. On test drive, the transmission slipped and jerked, yet they refused to lower the price or make it right. Instead, they tried pushing $1,500 of useless add-ons and reminded me to "sign the wall" for troops--while offering no military discount. I came in to look at a car because the online price was very good. The listing only disclosed about an $850 fee. However, once we were given the final numbers, the dealership added warranty and protection packages totaling around $3,500 and told us that purchasing them was required in order to buy the car. This was not disclosed online and significantly changed the price. I do want to note that the salesperson we worked with was very professional and courteous throughout the process. I would review a negative number if possible. I purchased a 2022 Telluride from Fortbend Kia, it currently has 14,123 miles on it and is pristine condition, stored only in my garage. I recently noticed small pimple like bumps in a small area on the hood. We live the closest to Gay Family Kia, so scheduled an appointment there to have the hood checked out. The service manager said that the area has been repainted and would not be covered under warranty. I explained to him that I have never been in an accident or had any body work done to the car. He replied to me that it was probably damaged during transit and repainted by the dealership and it is probably rail dust surfacing now because preparation for the repaint was not done properLH. He then said it's not Kia's problem and should be taken up with the dealership that sold me the car. Upon calling the service manager at Fortbend Kia, I was told that Fortbend was bought out and is now called Shottenkirk Fortbend Kia (same building) and basically it is not their problem, how convenient! I called customer care at the Kia headquarters two days ago and am still awaiting an answer on if they are gonna take care of the paint. Bottom line, I guess you now have to take a brand new car to be inspected by a body shop prior to making a purchase. I understand that accidents or damage can happen during transit but I feel the customer should be made aware of the body damage before selling the vehicle as new and at full price. I definitely would have taken a hard pass on this $55,000 purchase. Its really ashamed that Kia does not stand behind their product or the dealerships that they have approved to sell their vehicles. Very disappointed that I brought me new vehicle to this dealership for them to file a warranty claim. I was told by the Fixed Operations Director that the claim was denied after weeks of waiting. Later discovered that a claim had never been filed because there was no record in the Kia Warranty system. I requested confirmation of the denial and a call from the General Manger, Archie V. Most of the KIA dealerships in the greater Houston area were all subpar on the ratings front, except for Fort Bend. Rosenburg is not exactly close for me (#1) but it was worth the drive to get everything I wanted: solid pricing, quality work, and stellar service. A number of online forums also corroborated their service approach, which was professional and not obnoxious as other places I've encountered previously. There was no hard sell to take on additional services and they were patient with me and cared for my vehicle in a way where I was impressed. Booking an appointment online was a cinch and it's clear they were popular since I couldn't secure anything for at least a few days to a week out. The waiting area near the service station is on the smaller side, but I was able to hang out in the showroom area and do a little work. There are limited refreshments, such as cold bottled water and coffee packets. Overall the place is clean and super modern. The dealership itself may be small, but the staff is mighty. They managed to get me on the road in a little less than an hour and now my whip is running extra smooth. For all things service-related, I'm definitely happy to make the drive here for the added satisfaction for a good experience. What an experience. To be honest, I've never felt so "clean" leaving a dealership; one can get used to the pleasures of shopping without going to war for hours to drive the price down. The beautiful thing is with Fort Bend KIA (FBK) is that there are no gimmicks, and for that, it's an easy 5-stars for me. FBK sells at MSRP--yes, you read that right. There is no sellers upcharge. Packages for maintenence and service are offered but NOT REQUIRED for purchase. Everyone who has shopped for a car knows you usually will usually leave the dealership paying 5 or 6k USD than the price tag you were shown on ads for God knows what. Again, FBK is not the norm. The place is small, but well maintained. Complimentary coffee (with optional dehydrated "milk" for a latte) is provided. For those who get hungry while playing the waiting game, there are a couple vending machines in the back. The showroom holds about 4 vehicles comfortably. Tables for their sales team sit on the outside edge of the showroom. If you're planning to shop weekends, an appointment may be necessary as these tables are not going to be empty (and for good reason). Seriously, FBK should be on your list to visit if you're shopping. Cheers. read more

Purchased 2 Kias many, many years ago, then one for my mom and dad, then 2 more around 2016 -- all from Ft Bend Kia. The last two were Optimas for myself and my wife. On my Optima, a few weeks after that last purchase, the trunk kept popping open. "No problem" they said, and replaced the gadget that keeps it from doing that. Later, the back floorboard was full of water. They said "it's just a clogged AC line, no problem". A few years later, all 4 windows fell into their corresponding doors and I had to use pliers to grab the glass and pull them back up. The driver's side fell with such force that it incurred a hairline crack down the middle. They said "no problem, it's the window regulators, typical wear and tear... $2800." I said "Nope, I don't think that I opened the back windows, ever, nor the front much either for that matter -- at least not anywhere near enough to wear the motors out." But they insisted, and I declined the repair. I resorted to duct tape to keep the windows up since i really just use the car for work and back. I later found that many people had this same issue, and it was and still is an ongoing "Known Issue", with Kia window regulators, and you can find potential lawsuits all over the internet, but nothing has ever been settled. Some local repair shops have replaced so many of these they say they can do it with their eyes closed, but it's still expensive and they've forewarned me that the replacement regulators aren't reliable or guaranteed for more than 30 days either. But the car was paid for, so I've endured, driving it with all 4 windows duct-taped shut for the last few years. Fastforward to 2024. I went back to Kia since it was under new management to see if anything has changed regarding this regulator debacle or if maybe the cost for repairs wasn't so steep. They said that they would have to hook the car to their computer and perform a new diagnostic as the original diagnostic they did a few years back "expired". (I didn't realize that was possible, yet here we are.) The price for them to run a new updated diagnostic is $275. (Again, this must be paid up front so that they can confirm that the windows don't work so that they can then, and only then, quote the cost for repairs.) I think that I may have laughed at that point, and declined the offer. Needless to say, I walked away. Forever. I'll leave my review as-is since my blood is starting to boil just by typing this. Sold my Mom's used Kia Cadenza on September 28, 2024 to Enrique Lance at Shottenkirk (aka Fort Bend) Kia. Because it was late on a Saturday, I left the car and he said they'd mail the check (I had a sales receipt). Two weeks later, no check, I called. Enrique said it would be in the mail that week. Three more weeks pass, I'm calling and get no response from Enrique, so I finally called and talked to another sales rep who says he's "been in Vegas". I'm hot by now and tell him I don't care where he's been, they've had my Mom's car for over a month, either I need a check or I report it stolen. Enrique calls me back and says they accidentally mailed her check to her old address (I gave him her new address and license when I was there.) He then says I need to come pick up her car because I "was rude to his staff"?! He's had her car over a month, I have a sales contract, heck no I'm not letting him use her car for free that long, I tell him I want a check and I'm picking it up. He deducted a $60 FEE for a replacement check for THEIR mistake! Here's the kicker, he was LYING all along; they never mailed a check to her old address because it was never forwarded with her mail. So Enrique ripped off an elderly woman for $60, caused me to have to drive an hour an a half to get the new check, and lied to me the whole time just to cover his butt. Update: I filed a complaint with the BBB and that coward didn't even bother to respond. Guess my next step is to file an elder abuse complaint with the state. read more

My Mom wanted a Kia Sportage and I had a few friends recommend Ft.Bend Kia. She made contact with them, found the model she wanted and finalized the deal online. She received a call from someone from the dealership later that day saying the deal was null and void because they had pre-sold the vehicle. No other vehicles available so the search continues but we won't be going back to or recommending this dealership. Never received a call from the GM or the internet sales mgr she was communicating with to apologize or explain what happened. In late April, I filled out a form online looking for a specific, hard to find, Kia vehicle. Many dealers contacted me to say that they could get me one by mid-June or July. Joshua at Shottenkirk called to say that he had one coming in in mid-May. I put $500. down for them to give me first chance at it when in came in. Mid-May came and went and when I finally texted, I was told that the cars "come all the way from Korea" and that's why it was taking so long. I was told 2 more weeks. Then two more. Then July 7. I was even told once that it was "at the port." At no time did anyone from the dealership initiate contact with me when yet another date passed. I was finally able to purchase the same vehicle from another dealership. Out of curiosity, I called Shottenkirk near the end of July to see when they would tell me my vehicle was coming in. Surprise! Two weeks! From all I read here, most people seem to be happy with this dealership, and maybe, as the sales manager told me, they really were the victim of "weather and shipping problems," but I can't help but feel I was just being strung along. Service was poor and certain staff was rude and incompetent. I scheduled my appointment online and arrived a few minutes early. The guy who greeted us was friendly and my husband explained the problem with the car. They would check it out the guy said. 2 hours later we see our car in the lane of serviced cars so we go to see if it's ready. Another guy said he could not find our name or phone numbers in their system but they had our info because first I made the appointment online and received a text from the dealership beforehand and while at the dealership. Plus they have a board with last names of those being serviced and our name was on that board. To top this off, they could not find anything wrong with my car. So we leave to head home, and the car starts miss firing again! We turned around to let them know. Now we have to take it in again tomorrow. This is our first KIA. Our last 3 have been MitsubishI SUVs and we never encountered this kind of problem. Now I'm regretting not getting another Mitsubishi. read more

Damien beat the price within 10 minutes and I chose to do business with him (for reference, I am a first time buyer and I kept getting high rates)Not because of the price but the attitude and patience and also, the integrity. I brought our 2019 Kia Sorento in for repair because the glass roof panel (Panorama roof) exploded by itself while driving. The dealership put in new glass but pulled the paint off of the car when removing the tape used during glass installation. The dealership will not take responsibility for damaging our car. My wife is furious over this incident. I got a repair estimate from a reputable auto body shop for $2300 dollars. Needless to say I will not be dealing with this dealership ever again. If you make a mistake or damage something, own up to it and correct it. Don't hide from it or ignore it. No more Fort Bend Kia for me. read more

I have been having Ft. Bend Kia service my vehicle for going on two years and the service has been good. In June I had a tire rotation and oil change done. after about a month of driving I noticed that they didn't rotate the tires and the service technician actually noted on my paperwork that he didn't rotate the tires. I called back to the dealership to let them know what happened. The only thing I received was we're sorry and we'll rotate them for you for no charge. This is the worst dealership we've ever dealt with. Jerry Garcia in the service station had our car for almost three weeks and when we picked it up on Friday it was COVERED in SAP. It's all over the whole, entire car. We are being quoted north of $300 by car detailing services. Rather than try to make it right- he tells us "he's not paying for us to get our car washed," and to "take him to small claims court." WHAT? My husband is a law firm partner- believe me we can afford a car wash! This is the principal of the matter. The car DID NOT look like that when they received it. Stay away from this dealership! ETA: Below, Virgil says he would take responsibiity for the condition of the car, but in his conversation with my husband he clearly indicated that the condition was NOT their fault because he has no sap trees. After I checked in and waited approximately 30 minutes, I was told they didn't have the part. Had bad customer service. I was very transparent let them know I had bad credit. We officially didn't know because It seems like once you tell them you have bad credit or no credit they don't focus on trying to get you approved. They are just like "ehh a bad credit person not important" Neways The test drive was quite and awkward. Review for service department: terrible communication and unreliable inventory system! I dropped my car off on a Tuesday because car wouldn't start. They did a diagnostic and Miguel told me it could take 5-10 business days to get the parts. I called Thursday to get an update and was given no new information. I called following Monday and left a message. I received a call the next day (so now it's 1 week later) and Miguel tells me that the part is on back order and no estimate when it would be available. You would expect a repair shop to be a able to tell you immediately 1) Is the part available 2) expected arrival. First of all, 5-10 business days to get a part is unacceptable and does not meet today's standards. Second of all, to not be able to tell you until a whole week later (even after I made 2 status check calls) that it's on back order is baffling. Miguel and Tim owned up to it. Being from North Texas people say be careful when you go down Houston in nearby cities because of flood damage cars and car salesman that lack integrity I had to wait a couple months to make sure that my car was fully vetted because I myself was skeptical. I wasn't here for me - I do not leave the loop that often. Likewise, I never, ever, in my natural born life as an Intarweb hobbyist critic, ever would have decided to rate a car dearlership, but here go - for the first time - a 5-Star for an auto dealer. Usually, they disgust me to the point I can't even write a 1-Star review. So I never do, it's a drain of energy. So when someone popped me with positivism, I went to the review write-up. The only thing which would have made this experience better is if the hamsters had shown up spinning a Deadmau5 mash-up of Party Rock Anthem so that everyone could get shufflin'. Well, as stated, this was not for us, we stopped in with another couple dropping by for a car and this place was the UN-dealer. No high pressure, and everyone had a very small-town, easy-going vibe. I think I was shocked at the rather stunning difference between our car dealerships back home in Houston and those of a smaller town such as Rosenburg (itself not too far outside the Beltway, though realistically speaking, the difference was stunning). Usually when shopping with friends, there was usually a divide and conquer mentality by staff, but the folks at this Fort Bend Kia were pretty much stunning in their... coolness. I have no other words for just how awesomely kind they were, and how un-pressure this place was, because it was honestly just plain ol' shocking. Shocking in a big way, such that I was speechless. On to the specifics, I guess - full line of Kia autos were available, though they were out of the hybrid at the time (makes sense, small town, no doubt less of the hybrid action needs to be in stock). Anyway, other than that, they did walk out with a Sorento and all was well. We didn't pry into the finance side, it wasn't our deal, but they did say it was fast, fun, and friendly. Well lit, easy-in, easy-out, and to be honest, the small foot print (I saw bigger dealerships when I worked in College Station for Texas A&M University) was shocking but fit the personality of this place. As someone myself who has consulted dozens upon dozens of retailers over the years, I was impressed by the respect & kindness of the staff and super impressed the owner was on site and NOT acting like a micromanager (seen too much of that) by just shaking hands. I do wish we had some life-sized hamster cut-outs, though - that would have put the icing on the Kia cake. Suffice it to say, next car will be a Kia, and will be back. MAP NOTE: I corrected the marker here on Yelp - had we followed Google to the letter, it would have been off at the time. Luckily, it was easy to spot and we exited 36 and U-turned it back to H-Town. But at FT Bend Kia they agreed to sell for MSRP and i got 1000$ off just by financing (for three months in my case) and I got ot order exactly the car I wanted...Every other option was at least 500 and often 1000$+ more of accessories and upgrades I didnt actually want. )example..210$ for carpet mats when we wanted the weathertech hd mats). We live in Austin and saw a car we have been searching for listed on there site. We told them we wanted the car and gave them a deposit to hold the car on Friday evening. (We were paying cash) Saturday morning we receive a text that they were selling the car to someone else. My husband told him we were on our way to go get it. This place almost got me killed. Came in to get my car serviced. Supposed to be quick and easy, but of course they find filters that need to be changed, the fuel system needs to be serviced, etc. and ran it up to the region of $550, most of which was labor. They then come in and say they can knock $75 off the price if I do it now because I initially was going to go elsewhere, so I bite the bullet and pay to get it done. Turns out after they serviced the fuel system, they didn't reset the sensor and didn't take it for a test drive like I was later told they should have. This meant when I pulled out of the dealership, the car took 10 seconds to get to speed and maxed out at 40, which I discovered as I got on the freeway. And when the car was stopped, it shuddered uncontrollably to the point where I had to turn the engine off at red lights. And at those red lights, it took about 7 seconds of me flooring the gas for the car to get to 20 mph from a stopped position. So it took me about 10 minutes to come back around and get back to the dealership doing 40 on a feeder where everyone else is doing 70. And I'm not that type to yell or make a scene, but apparently they mistook that for me being fine with the situation, because they explained the problem in a very matter of factly "that's all it was, no big deal" way like I hadn't almost been creamed on the freeway, took an extra 15 minutes to fix it after I had already been there for 3 hours, and all I got was a half baked apology that didn't address the magnitude of the mistake. Liars The sales manager is horrible! Do not trust the them! They agreed to the sell of a car and we were told they ordered the part to fix the camera then we we would pick it up the next day. When I contacted to arrange our pick up time they said they sold the car after we left! I saw they listed it's for $1000 more on the website after we left. An agreement is not honored at this location. I called the GM to see what happened to our agreement and he was told lies by his sales manager. I sent over my text and phone log proving my agreement.
