I…read moream a single father of three children, a full-time hospital employee, and a student working to build a stable future for my family. I am not asking for sympathy. I am asking for transparency, accountability, and fairness.
The vehicle I purchased from John Kamal Cars was a birthday gift to myself. It represented stability--a way to get to work, attend school, and care for my children. Reliable transportation is essential when you are balancing work, parenting, school, and daily responsibilities.
At the time of purchase, I put down a $3,000 down payment. When the vehicle later began having issues, I attempted to find a practical solution. I told the dealership I wanted resolution, not conflict, and asked if I could be placed into a cheaper vehicle using my $3,000 toward restarting in something more affordable so I could continue working and supporting my family. That request was denied, and I was told I would need a new down payment.
When the vehicle began having problems, I contacted the dealership in good faith. They offered to pick it up for inspection, and I agreed, expecting communication, clarity, and the opportunity to make informed financial decisions.
Instead, for approximately three weeks, I was repeatedly told they did not know what was wrong with my car.
During that time, I followed up consistently while managing work, school, and parenting responsibilities. At one point, I was told they could not confirm where my vehicle was physically located, which was alarming given its importance to my life.
Because I was not getting answers, I attempted to retrieve my vehicle so I could have it independently inspected and evaluate my options.
I spoke with my account manager and requested the vehicle be released. I was told they preferred to continue working on it and that I would receive a callback after speaking with the service department. That callback never came.
After weeks of uncertainty, I was told that "sensors" had been replaced and I owed approximately $1,300. I immediately questioned what was repaired, what was diagnosed, and why none of this had been communicated beforehand.
Then, within a day or two, I was told the issue was actually the transmission and it was being replaced.
I immediately tried to stop the process and requested the vehicle back so I could compare repair options. I was told I would be called back to confirm whether work had started. That callback never came.
Instead, I was later informed the transmission had already been installed and I was responsible for payment.
At no point was I given a clear opportunity to understand the diagnosis, compare options, or decide before a major repair was completed.
The pricing also shifted multiple times without consistent explanation.
During this period, approximately $400 was added for alleged CPI insurance from the time of purchase while the vehicle was still in their possession.
For over a month, I requested documentation including the contract, CPI verification, payment ledger, and repair records. I did not receive complete documentation or clear explanations.
The loaner vehicle provided was unsafe, with warning lights, no horn, and brake concerns. As someone responsible for children and working in healthcare, this was unacceptable.
This situation has created stress and instability during an already demanding period of life. It is based on repeated conversations and unanswered requests, not emotion.
Please do not respond with a generic apology or avoid the core issues. This is about transparency, communication, documentation, and fairness.
If records exist, provide them. If charges were authorized, show them. If communication was proper, the timeline will reflect it.
I am not asking for sympathy. I am asking for accountability. I have lived this experience, sought solutions, and acted responsibly. This is my account, and I stand by it.
