Texas Direct Auto is affiliated with or owns Vroom. I received an offer on my 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport and uploaded my drivers license, registration and lien info and accepted their offer and after ten days of calling and talking to their sales department, acquisitions department, customer service and two different managers, they still were unable to send me the contract. I was extremely nice and was hung up on by two different managers. Carlos with acquisitions was one of them. This company is the most incompetent organization I have ever dealt with in selling a vehicle. I received an offer in writing from them but could never finalize the deal because they could never send the contract. I am headed back to CarMax, a legitimate business that will actually buy my vehicle. My recommendation is to never use Texas Direct Auto or Vroom to sell your vehicle. The left hand doesn't know what the right is doing there and I am not happy that I uploaded my information in their system only to find that I could not complete the transaction. They are a pathetic excuse for a vehicle acquisitions company. Steer clear from this outfit and don't waste your time or efforts on them. read more

I asked that they give ma a second key and floor mats for the $58,000 F350I bought and they agreed. I got the key as requested and received, in the mail, generic compact car floor mats. I called and asked for the correct floor mats and was given a flat NO. I won't recommend anyone else or buy another truck from them. read more

Jason on the Katy Freeway location gave me an insulting low ball.... like 16,000.00 below market value... when I questioned the incredibly low offer he replied it was generous and why would I question his offer. I actually went through Vroom, but Texas Direct Auto and Vroom are effectively the same thing if you are in Houston, and all of the paperwork happened at the location. Since I went through Vroom, I already had an offer before I got there, and I just showed them the offer, they went outside and looked over the car really quick, and we got going with paperwork. It was a quick, no-hassle experience that didn't take long at all. And they called an Uber to drive me back home. That was a nice touch. I will look forward to working with Texas Direct Auto in the future when I'm in the market for a car. read more

somehow this location doesn't come up up in a Google search yet here they are. I highly recommend this location as I got more than expected for a very old vehicle that barely runs. they were courteous, respectful and professional and I left with a check in my hand in less than an hour for the entire process. this was a much better idea than using my car as a trade in at the dealer, as it should go without saying. but it took far less time than private listing and I got more than I hoped even compared to fair market value. they will ask 'what you reasonably expect to get for your vehicle', and in this day and age it shouldn't take more than five minutes on KBB or websearch, so at least know that money figure going in, and ask for the high end of it to start. Update: back to two stars. They overnighted new dealer plates since mine expired & I finally received official plates shortly after. Update: Moving down to 1 star and they don't even deserve that. Buyer beware. Texas Direct (DBA Vroom) did not send me my plates. I now have expired dealer plates. Bottom-line, these guys know how to buy cars. They simply do not know how to sell them. From start to finish, this has been an awful customer experience. I literally purchased a car from them that I can't legally drive and I'm not even sure if I have legal ownership. I really don't know what to do at this point. Old review: would give Vroom only 1 star but they did have a better deal than any of the local dealerships by my house and they do offer a fair trade-in value (better than what you get from the Carmax's of the world). The problem is that I am going on 15 days without a car. I started the process of purchasing a vehicle on 3/6/2018 and as of today they still have not shipped the vehicle. Add to that, you absolutely cannot get through to an associate if you call. It seems as though when you start the sales process, reps are readily available but as soon as you buy the car they leave you in hiatus and are no longer accessible. I called twice today and both times I was sent directly to voicemail. I ended up getting an email from a rep who told me that they would email me as soon as they could get a transport to commit to shipping. Here's the deal, (1) If you can afford to wait 2-3 weeks for a vehicle and are patient enough to handle poor communication buy from Zoom. (2) If you want a good trade-in value for your vehicle, it's an easier process. It's worth some of the headache when you're trying to sell your car and they give you a decent offer (3) If you need a car quickly, DON'T BUY FROM VROOM. I assure you will be disappointed. read more

By far the worst company to do any kind of business with. Vroom took over and ruined Texas Direct Auto which used to be an amazing company to buy from. I contacted Texas Direct Auto/Vroom about purchasing a vehicle, they wouldn't budge much on the price, even though the price was well above the vehicles worth, and of course they wanted to give me a few thousand less for my trade in than what it was worth, basically screw you on both sides of the deal. I returned to the Vroom website recently to find the vehicle I made a fair offer on now listed BELOW the price I had offered, which now puts it several thousand below what they claimed their best price was. Truly a laughable company that values quantity over quality and whose sales reps will be sure to deliver on the typical used car salesman experience. I'm sure they will attempt to explain this away with the typical apologies or other excuses, the bottom line is you will not get a fair deal here and you cannot trust them. read more

This place seems legit with all the Hype. They were courteous at first but the gentleman started seeing car repairs on the 2012 Truck that do not really exist. NADA Value 28K Kelly Blue book Value 28K 74K miles. Toyota Tundra platinum. Walked out with offer of 22K. It seems like they really believe one is that desperate! Don't get your hopes up. They made me do the online appraisal first took them over 24 hours. Made me drive from San Antonio just to low ball me and with no wiggle and room. Never argue with your customers!! I gave them two chances despite my better judgment but I will not be giving them a third. Please do you research on the cars you are looking at as they seem more than happy to sell you garbage. I went to look at a couple of cars over the course of a few weeks and each one had major issues that they refused to address. The first one was not a functioning car, it would not get over 45 mph and shook and shuddered the whole time, despite being on their website. Their excuse was that it "had just come in" which based on how filthy the car was I would believe, but they had had time to post a bunch of nice pictures on the site. The second car had pretty damning evidence of someone tampering with the odometer (two different shops over the course of almost 2 years showed 4k+ miles more than it showed on the car) which I only found out about when I got there as the carfax and autocheck were "unavailable" on the website. Both times most of the staff were rude and dismissive of major issues with their inventory. read more

Don't know about the other two reviews, but definitely temper your expectations. I went in there to have a car appraised and received an offer that was $1500 LESS than Carmax. Once I saw the offer sheet, I pointed at the price and said, "NO" before he could really speak and the guy basically got up walked away and tossed the offer in the trash.
