After a decade with AT&T service along with anxiety every time I had to call. I realized it was time to move on. I received a card in the from Webpass Simple Urban Internet. The speed was like night and day as well as the cost compared to my former provider. It's only $55 a month without hidden fees and all the other surprises I use to receive with former provider. In addition, I was so impressed with the Network Installer, Curtis Harvey. His service from the start was excellent, very professional, and friendly. It started with the appointment. I was able to set my appointment online. I was given a time by Curtis and there was none of this long waiting periods within a four hour time frame. My appointment was at 12:00 and Curtis, indeed, arrived on time as promised. The installation was amazingly completed at the most in 20 minutes. He gave me instructions on how to plug in my router which at the time I didn't have. Curtis H. told me to call immediately if I had any questions or issues. Being a bit technically challenged I could not get my router connected. I called Curtis and left a message. 15 minutes later he returned my call and Curtis told me he would be on his way. He was at my condo in 5 minutes. Discovering I connected it incorrectly, Curtis made the adjustment and it was up and ready to go in less than 10 seconds. I HIGHLY recommend Webpass Simple Urban Internet. Another added perk is you are able to receive a credit to your account for $55 for each referral. And no limit to the amount of friends you refer. I've been slave to Cox Communications for the past 5 years in downtown San Diego. Our building recently installed Webpass and we now have the option of service. Since we are dedicated Apple TV users, we need the bandwidth. The sign up and scheduling process took less than 5 minutes, all done online. The tech showed up on Sunday morning, on time, turned on my service and I was ready to go. I now have 340 MPBS up and down. Paid my invoice online. Super easy, hassle free. I've had Webpass for a year now and can say it's easily been the fastest and most stable service I've ever had for the price, with the best and most efficient customer service. I'm comparing this to TimeWarner, Comcast, and AT&T. Never had Cox. Set up was very easy and I was able to get an appointment on the first day I moved in, so that my moving transition was smooth internet-wise and didn't have to go a day without service. Curtis H. was very friendly, answered all my questions, and got it hooked up quickly. Overall provided excellent customer service and created a positive impression for Webpass from the beginning. Over the year, the service has reliably produced the speeds promised, and there have only been a few (but minimal) amount of service interruptions, much less than I've had with other companies. Every time I had to call in to get it fixed, customer service was friendly, professional, competent, followed up quickly like they said they would, and took care of the problem usually within less than an hour. Big difference from customer service with other companies where you get different answers, routed all over the place to various departments, and where it can sometimes even take days to solve the problem. Appointment, setup and installer were awesome. I hated Cox's and wanted anything else. I'm not sure of the speeds promised, I just ran three test and the best I got was 23.00 Mbps download and 32.21Mbps upload. 2005 building in Gaslamp. Update 4/30: Webpass was pretty proactive after, I'm assuming, reading my Yelp review about speeds. I was emailed twice and one voicemail left by their service department, trying to make the speeds better and troubleshoot. After some back and forth diagnosing, my router needed a firmware update. This is becoming monotonous!! All these great reviews are REALLY true. Jaimie did the install, scheduled for 10am he actually came early. The cable companies schedule you between 9am to 3pm and arrive at 5pm. Jaimie was professional, courteous, and VERY punctual. It doesn't get any better. Webpass installed their service in my condo in the ICON building in early Feb. The installation tech was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable; I asked him a lot of questions. Installation took about 10 mins. The data speeds up and down have been excellent. I had high hopes for this service as I have always disliked the major telcos. So far Webpass is delivering. The worst customer service experience I have experienced in years. I have not had internet connection for over a week and called many times, left messages, emailed but no one called back during the time I told them I was available. I finally got a call when I was in a meeting, I was told he would call back at a certain time and he never did. When I asked him to send someone to fix the issue, I was told I had to wait at least another 3 days and refused to even set that up. So, even though I am paying for the service, I got none! read more

This review is a bit early and we will update it after a few weeks. We had ATT Internet and were receiving Download speeds of less than 7 Mbps $ Upload speeds of less than 2Mbps (paying for much more. Justin, who did a superb job at installing the WebPass Internet, explained our situation with our ATT service. He was able to hook it all up for us in about 40 minutes, which included a glitch with the router we purchased from Amazon. All said and done, we are getting new Download speeds of 39Mbps and Upload of 87Mbps on our iPads while TVs are running. So far very happy. Justin was polite, personable, efficient and very helpful. I just have had it installed today. (made an appointment yesterday to install at 9 a.m today) I am the first customer for this building. The speed is very accurate as other said. First direct wire hooked up, download speed test at 440 Mbps. I have like 8 devices in my house so the wireless speed is around 100 Mbps. But if I hook up with wire I have around 350+ Mbps. upload speed 200+ Mbps. Installation around 30-40 minutes. It was his first building so he took sometime to find my phone panel. (I don't even know where it is) Thank you webpass I already cancelled COX internet since yesterday after I made an appointment on Webpass. The 5 stars is for customer service, but the actual internet service itself is more 4 star. Got an installation appt. within a day of making a call and all we needed was a router. Our tech was Curtis Harvey and he was on time and a pleasure to deal with. He knew his stuff and didn't waste any time. Finally, a company that understands customer service. I wish I could give this company six stars instead of five, but oh well. A big shout-out goes to Jamison Yaptangco, who went the extra mile to make sure I was getting the fastest internet known to man... Thanks to his efforts (there were some problems with my connection at first), I now enjoy speeds of around 350 mb/s download and upload. If your building is lucky enough to qualify for this service, it is an absolute no-brainer. There are cheaper options for sure, but for the price and speed it can't be beat. What is happening to Webpass. It used to be awesome. Now the speed fluctuates (down to cellphone 2G speeds) awfully without updating their network status site. If you try to call customer service the hold time will be so long that your intermittent connection drop will resolve itself before you ever get on the phone with someone. I called customer service then input my number to get a call to be "next in line" . I received that call and proceeded to wait almost 90mins before giving up despite being. "next in line". We had Webpass installed about two weeks ago. They had recently become available in our building. The installer was knowledgeable, efficient and polite. The service is fast and reliable although the configuration of our building's wiring does not allow for the top speeds, it it still much faster than our previous cable provider and less expensive also . Webpass is fast. I mean really really fast. Not only is the connection 4 to 5 times faster than Cox, their service is superb. I placed my order online on a Sunday afternoon, and by Monday at 9:10: BOOM! my internet was flying off the charts. Jaimie, I believe, was the installer. Knocked on time (actually like 5 minutes early), moved fast and installed the best internet experience I've ever had. Note: if you have the means, do go for the Apple ac router. Great service and support. After Cox refused to help with my installation, I setup an appointment with Webpass. They came out the next day, and even allowed me to pull in the appointment time to accommodate a change in my plans. They diagnosed and even fixed some pre-installed Ethernet wiring through my condo. I called to set up service in the morning, and Jaimison came to do my install the very same day. He was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. Install took about ten minutes, and I've managed to cut down on the clutter around the surge protector by elminating my need for a cable modem. So far I havent seen any major outages to speak of.... I've seen one minor blip which affected a download, but within a few minutes the issue resolved itself and I was back in business.... certainly not anything that would affect streaming media since the speeds allow for a pretty generous buffer. Great service so far. I'm a hard one to impress and when the installer showed me the 300+ MB/s download my first thought was, "good you did your job, now what's the catch? Will the speed go way down at night?" The sign up process was simple. I scheduled it for a week out, but it looked like you could set up a time days sooner. 5 min before the sched time I received a call that he would be 5 min late. Already better than Cox. (Having to wait 3 hours.) The actual install was pleasant and quick maybe 30 min max. He also recommended the best routers and how to get them cheap from Amazon Prime (I got the TP Link Archer C 5). 24 hours later review ... You'll get fastest internet speeds on a computer direct from the Ethernet cable. My MacBook hardwired got 300-400 in the afternoon. Went down to 100 at night. Looks like iPhone 6 gets a max of 100 during day and 30-40 at night. Maybe the iPhone can't handle gigabit. There are about 20 other users in our building. So factor that into your decision since you share the signal. I wholeheartedly recommend webpass, especially if you're wondering if all the glowing reviews are real and not bots or paid... Although it was a hassle for him and took longer than normal, he was able to setup the internet using the telephone jacks in the bedroom. We tried them all!! Cox, AT&T Uverse, etc. There is NOTHING that compares to the service we are receiving from Webpass. We actually ran a diagnostic on the speeds before and after Webpass. The upload and download times were more than 10x faster then we have been getting up to now. We have a home based office that was suffering with extremely slow speeds from the other providers, which in turn caused me to be not only frustrated but inefficient in my job and with my customers. The service was outstanding! I never write reviews on YELP, but this was such a different experience than I am used to with ATT, that I felt compelled to share. My internet with ATT in our downtown condo was awful. I paid for the high level package of 24mps and my streaming services often buffered and came in fuzzy, or shut down completely. When I got the flier for Webpass in my building, and realized the price was comparable for 200mbs (advertised), I decided to make the switch. I was able to sign up for next morning install! Justin came this morning and arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled time (not in an 8 hour window like ATT does it). He was super friendly and professional. He got to work right away and rewired my system in about 20 minutes. On top of that, he set up my wireless modem that I had bought. This is not part of his job, but he did it without me even asking. He had everything set up in under 30 minutes! He then tested my system and I was getting over 350mbs wirelessly! Just for comparison, I had my brother-in-law test the system with ATT and it said we were getting 11mbs. This provider was in my building so I decided to take chance with them instead of using ATT. The connection speed is fabulous, cost is fair and service is outstanding. The tech showed at exactly the scheduled appointment time, was friendly and knowledgable. The whole install took less than a half hour. Best part is that when they had to come back to fix a problem (my fault), they were just as punctual, friendly and competant. Service call went great and was no charge to me, which was a nice surprise since I caused the problem. Definitely would recommend Webpass to a friend. read more

Some top-line amazing things about this service: 1 - SPEED. One speed offering, and it's symmetrical gigabit. YES PLEASE! I see about 700Mbps up/down when running speed tests, which isn't full gigabit, but daaaayum... 2 - PRICE / VALUE. There's one price offering, and it's $60/mo or $550/year (paid in advance). That's under $46/mo! That's...astounding. For comparison, Cox charges $60/mo (non-promo rate) for 15 mbps down / 2 mbps up. Cox doesn't have any service available at $46/mo on an ongoing basis. (AT&T's prices seem to start at $70, but I can't be sure because their website is garbage.) Sure, you might be able to call up Cox and talk them into giving you a lower price, but Webpass does it right. There's no "introductory rate", there are no tiers, there are no add-on services they try to sell you. It's just a good price on blazing fast Internet, or a superb price on that same connection if you're willing to pre-pay. You could try to call up Webpass and get a better deal, but I suspect they would (with good cause) tell you to take a hike. That's how it should be. 3 - NET NEUTRALITY. Webpass has a strong statement of net neutrality principles on their site, and doesn't do any sort of data cap funny business. They do make the point that illegal file sharing and 24/7 server hosting is against their terms of service, and remind you that this is residential-grade service subject to slowdowns, but that's about it. 4 - CUSTOMER SERVICE. Made an appointment through the website for a Sunday install at 9am, installer was on-site at 8:58am and done by 9:20am. Having dealt with Cox's 2-hour service windows, and Comcast's 4-hour service windows (which they would still somehow be late for), this was glorious. 5 - LACK OF BS. This one's harder to quantify, but when you go on Cox or AT&T's website and look for price / service level information, it can be tough to find. Webpass just lays it out there on their front page, and a quick address check confirms availability and speed level available on the premises. The only a couple nagging issues: 1 - RELIABILITY. I've only had the service for a week or so, and in that time I haven't seen it go out. However, it got slow during a rainstorm, and I've heard that there can be issues with weather slowing down or knocking the service temporarily. I believe that there's a microwave transceiver on-site that does the heavy lifting, so it makes sense. Still, it's an issue. 2 - AVAILABILITY. I love that my current condo offers Webpass, but it's lousy that I couldn't get it in my old condo because it was too small and old. Webpass is what Internet should be and I just want everyone to have it. If your building does offer the service, I highly recommend it. Some buildings have lower-speed service at this point, but Webpass seems intent on upgrading everyone to Gigabit if possible, so I'd say go for it even if all you can get is 100/100 right now. Finally, I'll say that Cox ain't all bad. They provide good service, were fairly reliable for the years I used them, and had decent customer support. But their prices have gone up a lot in the last year or so, and they keep making noises like they're going to enforce their stupid cap - they just can't compete with this. The only way to get decent prices in the long run with Cox is to play games with the retention department every year, and that's just not fun for anyone. read more
