After trying to diagnose with AI and…read moreYouTube I called Dell and they wanted me to wait 1-2 days for them to send a box, then ship it to them in Texas! They said it would take from 7-14 business days to try to have it repaired and they had no idea how much it would cost (after the initial $59 fee). I had just paid for an expensive software rental for the month, are you kidding me???!!!! Luckily I found 24/7PcTech! Cesar called me within minutes, it was late Friday and all the other local repair places were closed until Monday. I took it over and he had it diagnosed and fixed in less than 1 hour! Dell told me not to take it anywhere locally. When Cesar opened up my computer he showed me the cheap parts they had used on my expensive laptop. He replaced the bad parts with high-quality ones. Instead of repairing it, I was told it would be very expensive to replace the screen. The technician then offered me what he described as a "great" MacBook Pro if I paid an additional $350, and I agreed. When I got home, I charged the laptop. It made unusual noises, so I called him. He told me it was "just the fan" and not to worry. Shortly afterward, a low battery warning appeared. I asked if he could replace the battery, and he told me to go buy a new battery myself and bring it in for installation. Trying to get help became extremely frustrating. Several times he told me he wasn't available, even though he had previously implied he was available 24/7. I have text messages documenting all of these conversations. After finally finding a time that worked, I brought the laptop back. He later texted me that it was ready for pickup. When I arrived, the laptop was turned off. He told me it simply needed to charge overnight. I took it home, but it wouldn't charge at all. When I contacted him again, he claimed the battery was probably bad and once again told me to buy another battery on my own and bring it back. At that point, I lost confidence and took the laptop to another technician for a second opinion. I was told that even with a bad battery, the computer should still show signs of life when connected to power. Instead, they found a motherboard failure, meaning the laptop was essentially nonfunctional and would never work without a major repair. I felt completely misled. Rather than standing behind what he sold me, he repeatedly shifted the responsibility and expense onto me. I have documentation of our text conversations and the sequence of events. I have since filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and reported the matter as suspected fraud. Please be extremely careful if you are considering doing business here. Following 2 days of struggling, hour after hour, to dig into the problem I was having, all I had to show for it was a deeper hole!! I came over to his shop, gave him an overview of my problem and left; he called me the next morning to tell me all was well and to come in and pick it up. He charged far less than I expected and it has worked flawlessly for the last 4-5 weeks since I got it back. I highly recommend On-Site Techs for any of your computer service needs…read more I needed to transfer data from my old laptop to a new laptop so that I could function at work without down time. I searched online for Tech Support in San Diego and then contacted several firms. Some were not responding to voice mail messages and, when we eventually spoke, had high rates and long lead times before a tech could be sent to my office. John Airy of On-Site Techs returned my call almost immediately, has reasonable rates and could see me the next day. Once John assessed the time for transfer of data from computer to computer, he recommended saving time by taking the two laptops to his location to complete the data transfer. He then was willing to return on a holiday to adjust the views on the new computer to my familiarity so that I could function for the next work day. John is extremely knowledgeable, proficient and efficient. He communicated well to explain how views could be adjusted and he made good suggestions without tying to upsell programs. He has an excellent professional manner. I intend to retain the services of On-Site Techs as my local source for any of my computer issues. John is simply outstanding for his business performances.

Yeah, mistakes do matter, but it's what you do after you make the mistake that really counts. Short and sweet: I booked the Tech2U mobile service; the tech arrived on time, got right to work taking the HP Pavilion All-in-One apart and broke the display. Ronny (the location manager) got right to work, assessed the situation (original issue and the break) and presented me with options. I chose replacement and one week later I was up and running again. Ronny was great to deal with; he is the reason for the five star review. The Book: My HP Pavilion All-in-One stopped working, so I turned to Google, looked through the first page of the results, read some Yelps and settled on Tech2U. My first impression--they seemed professional, if not a little too slick--but the San Diego location had good yelps, so I booked an appointment for their mobile service. The tech showed up about two hours into the three hour time period we had agreed upon. As he began to pry open the back cover, a decent sized chunk of the display broke loose. That's right, he broke the display. OUCH! The tech was mortified and immediately called his manager and told him what had happened. When finished with that call, he informed me that he would have to take the computer to the shop, and that, Ronny Mansur, the manager, would call me in a few minutes. I was nice to the tech, but I admit, inside I was pretty p****d! Ronny called a few minutes later, apologized and told me not to worry, that Tech2U would make it right. He asked for 48 hours to diagnose the original issue and come up with a game plan. Again, I was pretty nice about it, but inside I was, yep, you guessed it, spitting nails. I agreed on the 48 hours (what else could I do), but I started planning my eventual rampage, just in case he was even a minute late with the call. At about hour forty-five he did call (kept his word) and informed me they had been able to ascertain what the original issue was (video card death), but that because the new display and the motherboard/video card were coming from two different locations it would take about a week to get the parts. He then promised that once they came in he would immediately have the computer repaired and get it back to me. I have to say, I was pretty calm about it with Ronny (pat on the back), but I was still fuming, and yes, I probably do have some trust issues--I couldn't help but wonder just how badly I was about to be tooled! Ronny again apologized, said he would make some calls to see if he could expedite the situation and that he would call back that same afternoon. Ronny again kept his word. He was able to shave a couple days off the turnaround time, but had also found an exact replica of my computer and offered to get it, swap in my hard drive and give it to me instead. My choice. As far as the price, he would charge me for the original service call and for the price of the motherboard/video card at his cost. He also promised to make me whole as soon as the new PC came in, hopefully on Thursday. Again, those trust issues, because it sounded great, but since this was my first experience with Tech2U I really didn't know if it was all BS--that at the end of the week the excuses would start to fly... (What could I do, but let it ride.) On Thursday I received a call from Ronny informing me that it hadn't arrived, but that he was pretty sure it would come in the next day. (Eyes rolling/deep breathing/steam rising!) On Friday, noonish, he called and told me that it had arrived, they were working on it and that he would like to send the tech out the following morning--exactly one week from the original appointment. I was starting to feel a bit better about things, but until I had a computer and was back up and running, I wasn't going to hold my breath (cynical, right?). About 8:15 the next morning, I received a call from the tech informing me he would arrive in about 15 minutes. The same tech. In less then 15 minutes he arrived with the new computer and a great attitude. He proceeded to unbox the computer, connect the second monitor and sound system, then perform a run-through showing me that everything worked. After the tech left, I sat with a cup of home roasted Joe and tried to figure out just how I had been screwed--I mean, hardly anybody does the right thing anymore, there must be something wrong, right? Well, its been several months now and everything is still running great. Ronny kept his word every time he gave it and with grace and patience was able to convert an unabashed cynic into a true believer. Tech2U turned out to be the real deal, and Ronny, you get the 5 stars! read more

I had my computer done with these guys a couple months ago then my busy schedule prevented me from leaving a well deserved review. I don't want to get into their company merger much but it had a big factor in my particular situation. It made it ridiculously difficult for a customer as myself to relay exactly and honestly who said what or who sold what, it just seemed so remediol at first. I understand going through such a stressful time which is expected in a business merger. I'm sure things would have been a lot more clear and easier at least with final numbers. I want to stay on topic, this is a 5 star review so remember that, nothing negative about my experience actually the opposite. I highly recommend this shop for many reasons but my BIG 1 is strictly due to the high ethics the company in a whole stands by. It's very tough to find honest people these days. Especially when you're talking about electronics or actually anything outside what most us Americans do on a daily basis. Every shop has people that are invested entirely due to ownership or just a worker without any involvement financially but I really respected the main headquarters. They took the due time clarifying and offering such a respectable deal when alternately it was never his terrible business deal in the first place. Not only that not a single employee of his doing at that time. As I said earlier it was this merger which had a influence at times of differences. I own a business. My main computer would crash without warning. Prior to coming to Tech 2 U I went somewhere else and they couldn't solve the crashing problem. I decided to give Tech 2 U a try. Also, I wanted to come up with a different back-up solution than Carbonite. They suggest that I go to a solid state hard drive to increase speed and reliability. Also I mentioned that we were having a difficult time installing a back-up solution called Acronis. They said that is the same software they recommend using for backing up. I did everything they suggested. Unfortunately, it still crashed. I took it back. They covered all the additional labor for free and installed a new motherboard at cost. It solved the problem. Ronny and Mike were great to deal with. The understood how important it was to get my main computer back and to back up the software. Because the crashing problem didn't follow any pattern it was impossible to find the solution the first time. What they did was start with the most common and lowest cost solution - very smart approach. Within one week of fixing my computer my daughter's Macbook Pro wasn't displaying anything on the screen. I took it to them. They quickly discovered that the screen was bad. They ordered a screen and installed a new one. It fixed the problem. I'm lucky I found them. read more

After my son finished building his first 'gaming' computer, it started up but would not boot into Windows. So we took it to Tech 2U and left it for an estimate. The next day they called, told us what it needed and provided a couple repair options; one based on lowest cost and another based on best performance. Since I have a background in IT, I asked lots of questions. With each answer, I became increasingly pleased with their patience and level of knowledge. They gave us enough information to make a decision we felt comfortable with - and even though the total cost wasn't cheap, I've learned from past experience that often times the 'low bidders' end up being the most expensive in the run. When we picked up the computer, I was impressed at how well it was put together but, my son had a question about later adding an LED controller. Michael was very patient and professional as he disassembled the pc, unraveled the wiring harness and showed us exactly what we needed to know. It's been about 3 weeks now and the computer has performed flawlessly. So even though I'll still do a lot of computer repair myself, when I do need help, will not hesitate to use Tech 2U services again. I have had laptop issues for the past month not being able to turn it on, so when I found some free time I called around to all the different computer repair places in my area to see who could give me the best price and seemed honest. After a stressful couple of hours I found Tech 2U because of the amount of positive reviews, so I decided to give them a call. The man on the other line asked me politely to come in so that he could diagnose my laptop issue FOR FREE. I drove straight there and within 5 minutes the man had figured out my laptop issue and had suggested that I buy some missing pieces for my laptop and that he could repair it for a super reasonable price. Needless to say, I will be buying the extra pieces to fix the physical damage to my laptop and taking it to Tech 2U because of the wonderful first impression. I have become a customer for Tech 2U in La Mesa (I'm in San Diego) and have had my PC completely cleaned and repaired once, and a brand new AIO CPU water cooler installed after that order. Tech 2U's service is simply the best in San Diego, and a notch of quality above Geek Squad (who were slow, failed me before and have less scope as to what they CAN repair). They communicated extremely well at Tech 2U, updating me on my system and calling me as soon as it was prepared to pick up. I had an injured hand and they carried my huge full tower right to my car. my computer would only operate in safe mode. When I booted my computer to normal mode, all I would get is a black screen. I tried using Cox Tech Support. All they said after several tries to fix the problem is wipe out windows and restall. I called Tech 2U and Nathan responded to fix the problem. Not only did he fix the problem without having to wipe out windows from the computer and reinstall. He was friendly and he didn"t make me feel stupid answering my questions. Nathan had a good level of confidence leaving my mind at ease. Another good thing this company offers is a 30 day guarantee for the work they did. The company's prices are quite resonable. Kyle (at San Diego Computer Help in San Marcos) and his team did a great job getting my computer back up and running. Once they figured out the cause of my computer freezing up, they diagnosed the problem and explained my options and how much it would cost to get it back up and running. It only took a couple days to get the new hardware installed, all my data copied over, and the operating system updated to the latest version. Their prices are competitive with other similar businesses, and they offer a discount for first time customers. Hopefully I won't need to, but if I ever need to have my computer worked on again, I'll be back to see Kyle and his team. read more

Very happy. Had problem with the system not recognizing the gamepad after yet another wretched, damnable windows update. I was able fix other problems caused by the update but not this one. I spent two days trying to fix it. They tapped in to my computer remotely and fixed it two hours with a workaround solution which I would never have thought of and, moreover, would not know how to do it anyway. Good customer service from the techs, very friendly and polite. The charge was pretty hefty ($169.00) but, in all fairness, it was in the same neighborhood as their competitors. And in the end, if you wanna dance, you gotta pay the band. read more

Ronnie at Tech 2U was so helpful, professional and gave us his honest opinion without any pressure. We came in for help installing a operating system that just wouldn't work for us. He told us about solid state drives and we ended up upgrading the hard drive as well. Turns out the software just wouldn't recognize my son's hard drive. Any device problem you have, head here first! The gent in front of me went from stressing to profusely thanking Jonathan in five mins. He walked out satisfied and relieved Tech 2U had his necessary part( he had called several repair businesses). My issue was a swollen battery ( gas build up ) causing the touchpad to lift/warp. I am a small business owner and I have been using Tech2U for about two years now. I have used them remotely as well as taken a few PC's into their shop for various reasons and I cannot speak highly enough of Ronny and his team. These guys are certainly experts in their field. They have always kept their word with regards to timelines and results and in addition they are friendly and professional. I will never go anywhere else for tech support as I have had more than one horrible experience elsewhere. I purchased a used machine online and had it shipped to me. Right out of the box I had problems with it. I took it to the Tech 2U boys and explained what was wrong. Ozzie was assigned the task and I picked it up shortly after that. I got home and still had a problem, so back I went.... Ossie stood by his word and fixed the machine! He did not charge me more than the original quote, thought I am quite sure he did a lot more work. I picked up the machine the next day and have had no problems since. Get job! Great service! I would highly recommend Tech 2U. Demitry came to my home the same day I called to request service (right on time) and found the problem and offered a solution within 1 hour. My hard drive had crashed. He had to take the PC to the shop for repair and said it would take 4/5 days. He returned it right on time and set it back up for me and got the PC running again. He showed me where by recovered data was and how to access. He was great. He was very knowledgeable, professional and very courteous. I highly recommend that when you call to request Demitry. I came to Tech2U when my laptop started having loud noise while running. After 2-3 days of FREE estimation, it was because the fan getting old. It does take few weeks to fix all of the issues (stuff happened during repair). Worked with Ryan for about an hour regrading questions to "downgrade" from Windows 10 to Windows 7, and general slowness of new PC laptop. Ryan took his time to explain possibilities of what may be the issue, quoted a fair price for service and said would call back at a time convenient to me to start the work. He was very patient throughout the entire process. We have not started work yet due to other priorities around the home but I will be calling back as soon as we are able. Thank you Tech2U. read more

This was without a doubt a hugely time-consuming and frustrating process, but Shannon and his team went above and beyond to diagnose and repair it. Just as in the old days, when Laptops Plus was a couple of guys working on machines in the tiny Clairemont strip that also hides The Godfather Restaurant, Laptop Plus' service is prompt, attentive, personal, professional and expert. Plus, the prices are fair and explained properly, up front. I can't imagine what more a person would want from a tech support service.

Checked out their website, then gave them a call about cleaning up my Mac before my vacation. I put it off to the last minute and wasn't sure they could help. Luckily, they could help me, and the rush fee was $100. I love that fact they picked up the phone and it wasn't some dead doornail employee who could care less about my computer issue. Chris, the owner, actually answered the phone. He said to bring it down. I came in that same day and he told me they would: clean it up, install new OS, remove junk, and speed it up overall. He quoted me end of the week, but it was ready sooner, so happy about because it would be ready for vacation. Total came out to about $430 with the rush fee. It's been about 6 weeks now and my computer is running amazing, so fast! They also have refurbished Macs for sale, which I'll be back for when my current computer stops working. Super 5 Stars for DC Computers! They care about their business and customers. So glad I found them.
