We took my PC to Weston because of a malware issue and to clean up accumulated junk. This was our second visit. Weston did all the clean up I needed. But when we got it home we needed help reinstalling my email and audio inputs. Weston helped me and my daughter remotely and got it all re-installed. I took my PC in because it had a power supply issue and wasn't booting up. Once I got the computer back I noticed that it was lagging a lot which it never did before and I found that Anydesk had been installed on it. Anydesk is a program that lets you connect to a computer remotely. Scammers often use this to steal crucial information. Very sketchy. I uninstalled it but the lagging problem remains. Now I have to find a new place to fix that read more

I have a 10+ year old Mac Desktop computer that I hadn't used for awhile because it kept crashing/freezing on me. I finally decided to take it out of storage and try to wipe it clean and reset it to factory settings. Figured I could google it and figured out. Don't do it. I ended up doing something wrong and not only that, but I decided to insert a DVD of Mac OS X that belonged to a Macbook laptop I no longer own, and then it got stuck and it wouldn't allow me to do anything else on the computer, it would just take me to start up and then tell me it couldn't use the disk and I either had the option of restarting my computer into a continuous loop or just shut down. Yelped for a place and came upon this business and the 5-star reviews and decided to give it a go. I lived fairly close as well. Sent a message through here letting them know my issues and the response was fairly quick, considering it was Election Day and it's wild times right now. I was able to drop off the Mac next day around my lunch time (working from home and all) and he was able to fix my issue fairly quickly (picked up same day about 2 hours later). I payed a very reasonable rate, considering brand new apple products are expensive and I'd rather fix before purchasing new. Weston was very friendly and fast, and went above and beyond with my old lady Mac. I will definitely be spreading the word and sending business his way. He did mention if I were to experience crashing or freezing again, it meant my old lady's number was up and I would need to retire her. The short story: Took my computer in because it was having issues shutting down. And when I say issues, I mean it wasn't shutting down. I have an older MacBook Pro (2009) that I've grown very attached to. It's traveled the country working on amazing projects with me so I wasn't about to give up on it. Wes completely fixed my issue and my computer is running faster and better than ever! And for a fraction of the cost I'd been quoted elsewhere. The long story: I initially stopped into Best Buy and chatted with their Geek Squad. The guy told me that it sounded like a hard drive issue and that the hard drive would likely need to be replaced. He also said that they wouldn't know for sure until they did a diagnostic (diagnostic alone costs $100) and , if it was a hard drive issue, that I might be better off buying a new computer because replacing the drive would bear a similar cost (meaning close to $2k). He tried to sell me on their Geek Squad yearly subscription so I could "save money" because the plan for the year is $200 and would include the diagnostic and labor costs of installing a new hard drive. At the time this *seemed* like a good idea because the diagnostic alone was going to cost half of the yearly subscription cost, then you factor in labor, you're probably looking at about $200...so if I buy the plan and I need any further assistance during the year, I'm coming out ahead, right? Well, I told the guy I'd think about it and I went on my way. I reached out to a friend in IT and he recommended New Age Computers. I'd never heard of them. I'm SO GLAD I now know about this place. Wes completely solved my issue (parts and labor included) for less than a yearly subscription to the Geek Squad. I'd gladly give New Age Computers more than 5 stars if I could! read more

My Dell laptop had both hinges break and was unstable with the screen making it pretty unusable. I took it to Weston and he replaced the hinges. The bezel (cover) that goes all the way around the screen to cover the hinges etc. was cracked and the hinges covers had broken off. Weston tried to replace it but the ones they sent him twice for my model did not fit. He could not get the right part (no fault of his) so he fixed my old one even the hinge covers and I'm happy with it. Since he did not replace the bezel he took that off my bill. I'm happy with his work, his fair prices and will be a repeat customer (if need be) and would recommend him to family and friends. read more

I had a problem with my Chromebook- and I could pretty much assess what the problem was. He needed to open it up and reattach the battery cable. I did not have any of the tools nor did I have any plastic screwdrivers, so that I don't damage my circuitry. Had an urgent issue come up with a new laptop while visiting my brother on vacation. Called the shop and spoke to Weston, who was glad to help out. Prior to coming into New Age Computers, my computer moved an inch in an hour. Now, it goes a mile a minute. I messaged Weston via the Yelp messaging system, and he responded within the hour, *after* business hours. I told him I needed to replace the hard drive in my MacBook Pro, and I already had that hard drive purchased. He quoted me a price, but told me I had a couple different options depending on what I wanted out of the hard drive repair. I went over to New Age Computers the next morning, and he took the time to ask about the laptop, as well as answer any questions I had. When I asked how long he thought it would take, he said most likely, it'd be done at the end of the day. At the very latest, it could be done first thing in the morning. At around 2:30 pm, I gave Weston a call because I needed an update on how the laptop was going so I could plan the rest of my day. He let me know the transfer process was going slower than he had anticipated, which immediately worried me. Weston calmed my nerves as he explained the process. He also assured me that if this transfer process did ultimately freeze, he'd go in and manually transfer anything leftover onto the new hard drive. When I asked if he thought it would be ready by the end of the day, he said he wasn't sure, but he'd give me a call around 4:00 pm. Additionally, he told me that if he thought the laptop needed an extra hour past 4:00 pm, he'd be willing to stick around *after* business hours so I could take my laptop home that evening. 4:00 pm rolls around, and Weston calls me to let me know he doesn't think it will be ready any time soon. I wasn't bothered by this at all. In fact, I was overly impressed by the care Weston took to continually update me about it, while simultaneously letting me know he still thought all would be okay with my laptop. The next morning, Weston gave me another call within the first half hour he was opened to let me know that he was in fact going to have to manually transfer some of my files over, but after that, the computer should be ready to go. He let me know I could pick it up any time that afternoon. Hesitantly, I mentioned that I was in class until 3:15 that day and probably wouldn't be able to make it over to New Age Computers until around 4:15. He assured me that was no issue at all, telling me not to rush and it's much more important to drive safely. Sure enough, when I arrived that afternoon, it was like I had a brand new laptop. Seriously, I'm typing on it right now, and I'm continually amazed that the keyboard and safari are keeping up with my fingers as I type away. I haven't seen this response rate on my laptop in years. He ended up being able to do much more than I thought he was, and saved all of the data on my laptop. I'm over the moon joyous with my experience with Weston. He has easily become my personal go-to guy for any technological issues I run into. You can bet he will be my person I recommend to others as well. I purchased a new laptop computer that I was planning on using solely for finances. I didn't want "Big Brother" on it, aka Microsoft. In setting it up, there was no avoiding creating a MS account, so I reluctantly set one up. After I completed the setup, I couldn't get the "dark cloud" completely out of my computers' world. I used to go to the geek squad for my PC ills. 05/2015: After I installed a replacement hard drive after they said they weren't able to do it, I knew I was done with them! Also, they have attitude issues! 04/2019: Now my PC has lost power. I begin to look for a local business for help. There are several. I find New Age Computers in El Cajon. I'm impressed! I now know why you see 5 star reviews! I spoke to Weston and his rates are very reasonable! I dropped of the PC on Monday and I had it home on Wednesday.
