I haven't been in a Walmart Superstore in a loooong time. But apparently the selection has gone waaay down. I needed one thing. Shoes. My nerve pain on one foot from a pair of heels I wore a few weeks back really disliked the drive and I needed some super loose shoes to wear during our Hearst Castle tour. Picking up a pair of 6 dollar throwaways was the biggest positive to this trip beyond the sparkly hightops I nabbed. Because sparkles. The service was friendly, but again - the selection was much less than I was used to with Target. But the throwaways got the job done and Walmart had more of a selection for certain types of shoes than Payless did. The service was better too. So hey, Walmart... you did pretty well this time. read more

I am 4'9", weigh 105 lbs, wearing small sizes like size 4 or 6. I cannot reach the top shelves where they put ALL the small size pants, folded up so you cannot see the size. Now I cannot reach or see the sizes. Why not put small sizes lower down than tall sizes, what a novel idea. So Walmart sold me a pair of Beats headphones that did not exist. When my son opened the box on Christmas morning it was stuffed with a maternity blouse. This was the only gift he had asked for. When I contacted Walmart's customer service they basically told me kick rocks they'll send me a refund. They also suggested that they may open an investigation into this but none of this is a solution for the problem. This was a Christmas gift and no customer should ever buy something, open a box, and find nothing but crap in a box. Walmart doesn't actually care about what happened or about the customer. They only want to issue a refund and walk away from this. I want the product and I want to know why Walmart is so indifferent to this situation. Walmart is a big joke. Their customer service is a big joke. They are just a corporate giant who does not care about anyone or anything other than the owners and board members of this company. Waiting for assistance in electronics. There is only 1 person maintaining electronics while a line of guests form. The Walmart associate failed to ask their team for additional assistance while they helped other guests. All I needed was someone to unlock the ink for me so I could grab what I needed and go. Now the associate is busy on the phone answering calls and juggling helping a woman buy a phone--instead of asking for help so they could assist more than one guest at a time and not have guests loose their priority in line. read more

This walmart sucks. I would rather go to target and spend the extra money then be harassed by the employees every single time I try to leave and don't show my receipt. I have been stopped by a man working the door grabbing my cart with my 2 kids in it telling me I can't leave without showing him my receipt ( I left it at register 1) and the next time I went i left through garden to avoid the receipt natzi's and the guy guarding the door at garden stuck his hand in my bag and scanned it ( that was fine I didn't care much) until he started getting greedy and pulling all my stuff out and scanning it after he just watched his friend scan everything. This is one of the 'older' Walmarts that hasn't been renovated. It doesn't have a produce section. They only had a very small area for lemons, bananas, avocados and oranges. Wish I could give zero stars. This Walmart doesn't deserve one star. Rude employees, they never collect their carts and they don't even clean them. And the cleaning section has trash everywhere (nasty). And it's because Walmart allows nasty, disrespectful people to do whatever they want They allow people inside without masks on and when I asked the manager he said "it's his choice not to wear a mask". Where is my choice to not get infected. It is more important for Walmart to have shoppers than it is to have a safe environment for EVERYONE. They are just there for a job. No dedication. Worse Walmart ever. I would be ashamed to work here. The store is always a mess and dirty. The people who shop here are filthy looking and they wear their pajamas to the store. A lady with her child was in the Christmas aisle talking on the phone. She had a little girl with her and this little girl was testing all the juice boxes by putting her mouth on all the straws. Beware. Better wash everything you buy here. I paid cash for two gift certificates and the cashier never offered me a receipt other than the one I got for other items I purchased. I asked her about it and she said it's too late. I already rung it up. The reason why I was worried was because she must have scanned it 5 times. So I asked her where was my proof that I purchased it. Since I am sending them to my two brothers for Christmas out of state. No one had any idea about their job. People in the pharmacy are rude. I have already switched all my prescriptions to another pharmacy. They give you a date when it will be ready and it never is ready on the date promised. They don't enforce the rules to wear masks and they just let as many people come in as they want. I blame management for this. Poor. Walmart needs to at least hire people that have graduated high school. I hate this Walmart. Going to target from now on. It's not worth my sanity anymore. I would rather pay extra. Do I sound angry. Wow what an experience! They are in the process of redoing the store, Beware isles do not fit 2 carts without issues!!! I came in for a new vacuum, easy enough. I wanted a few extra item; Walmart does have good prices. I get to the checkout and was shocked to see almost all the registers are self-check now. I get in line with a checker because I had a higher priced item and didn't want issues. With only one person in front of me, I'm not kidding the checker left 4 times to do what??? Help people other checkers? Who knows she would just walk away! I bagged my own stuff, lifted my own heavy items. I left feeling like I got the full experience which was not great. Too bad I actually do like some of the things Walmart has but the atmosphere is meh. I have to say the people trying to stock and get things moved were running around trying to get it done and from the comments I could hear customers saying they were getting a lot of negative feedback. Here's a lil info for anybody who believes anything an associate at Walmart says... I recently asked about some exclusive collectibles only available from Walmart. Talked to an associate and was told "we don't know and it won't come because of covid". After explaining to her that I have heard that before and asked why every other Walmart in the surrounding areas are getting them except them? She went ahead and told me that the store manager has instructed them to say it's because of covid if they did know or have an answer. So, as usual... the employees are not only rude as hell, but apparently now its ok to lie to their customers...the same customers who spend their hard earned money there. Avoid this store and their crappy manager whom I have also personally been talked down to by him when asking a question. I am a regular customer and for the most part the customer service is adequate. However, this morning I went to buy a new car battery and the lady, named Renee, in the automotive department was the rudest person I've dealt with in a long time. She has no business working in retail and should be in the back warehouse or something. She made me wait for a long time before she even addressed me while I stood alone at the counter. When she finally asked me what I wanted she was sarcastic, had a very nasty disposition and was very bothered and put out when I asked if they could put in in for me. She has zero people skills and should be transferred somewhere she doesn't have to deal with people. I wanted to ask for additional items but decided not to just because I didn't want to be the cause of her becoming totally unglued so I'll just go elsewhere. She represented Wal-Mart in the worst way possible. The manager really needs to evaluate her attitude with customers and think about reassigning her elsewhere. I've come here many times and have always left thinking how awesome they are and what great service they provided. And THEE best person there is Phil. Seriously Walmart....you have an AMAZING employee here who deserves (assumably) waaaay more than he is getting in return for his hard work and dedication to his/your customers. I know it's a Walmart and that makes it the lowest of the low but this store is a MESS! The cosmetic section is thrashed beyond belief with open packages and displays painted with nail polish-gross! The whole store is dirty. I needed specific brand of basic T-shirt for my husband and the section was so disorganized, I gave up! I will GLADLY pay a teeny tiny percentage more to shop at Target where the brands are better quality and they have a better variety. Had an order shipped to store and the store lost it. Was told 3 different times there was nothing they could do that it was lost and they didn't have it, that I would have to wait for their claims person to get back. I work in shipping and logistics and if your warehouse is that big of a mess then there is something seriously wrong and new management is needed. I'm very disappointed and will not be using this location again. It took 4 times, multiple phone calls, and waiting for over 40 minutes before they were finally able to locate the package. Called to order tires from the tire center. Apparently they don't sell tires unless you go in to the store. So that's inconvenient. Was told to order online, but the tires I wanted are not available to ship to the store, only to my address. Called assistant store manager for maybe another option or help. Well, you guessed it. Store policy does not allow them to sell tires unless you come down in person. Then, you need to come back when the tires arrive... for install, because they also don't take reservations. Have you seen the craziness at the Walmart tire center? None should be subjected to that atmosphere. I just want easy and friendly. Sorry Walmart. I'll purchase my $1,000 tires elsewhere. read more

I am not a fan of Walmart. At all. However, when you're poor af and you need a place to buy cheap, bulk toilet paper and get medication from a pharmacy at a discounted price, Walmart becomes glorious. It becomes convenient. It becomes that pang in your gut that is full of regret. I am impressed with this Walmart's employees. I have never received bad customer service from this location, ever. Maybe I go at really good times or maybe I have low expectations, but every time I have received satisfactory customer service. What I like the most is that when I'm at the check-out the cashiers are willing to engage in small talk. They're friendly and personable, but they understand that they have to keep the lines moving and can't be hung up on small talk. They're professional without being rude. You can tell that they're dedicated to doing a good job. The janitorial team and cleaning crew are the miracle workers here. By Walmart standards, this is definitely one of the more clean locations. I don't think they get enough shout outs for the hard work they put in. It definitely shows. The pharmacy will always keep me coming back. Are the lines long? Hell yeah. You have to go at the weirdest hours to not get stuck in a line. Do the lines interfere with the rest of the Walmart indoor traffic? Unfortunately yes. I don't think there is anyway they could remedy the situation and make it better. I think that it just is what it is. I have received decent customer service in the pharmacy. Is it as good as say, CVS or Vons? No... but by Walmart standards, it's pretty good. Oh, and good luck finding parking. That parking lot will be the death of me. read more

I usually come to Walmart for oil changes while I'm visiting my family. They have always been great, so I'm rather disappointed to be writing such a negative review. I just started having some car trouble a few days ago and since I'm leaving for SF on Friday, I decided to get it checked out locally. I just received a call from the service guy, and he said it's my transmission (whoopee) and that whomever did my oil change didn't return the dipstick for my transmission. It caused a bunch of debris to accumulate and now my transmission is not working so well. Guess who did my oil change? WALMART! It was done January 2011, and some dipstick forgot to put my dipstick back. That one mistake might have royally fucked up my car. So, no thanks Walmart...never again. My car was running great and now it might be completely ruined. read more

I had a very good experience the other day at this location. The staff was so friendly & approachable. I had questions in womans garments & a lovely young lad, whose name I believe is Stella was VERY helpful. It was a breath of fresh air in comparison to Salibas Walmart on north Main St. The store was also very clean, neat & organized. The only issue, which happens in most Walmart's is that some of Ailes are a bit narrow & hard to navigate in the electric scooter carts provided for the disabled. Since we live 50 miles north of Paso Robles & 50 south of Salinas, it appears we will go to this Walmart. Otherwise, the Walmart on Davis has had some very nice staff. But I was truly impressed with Paso Robles Walmart. Kudos to the store manager. We know that the manager is the example, so I see he must import great customer service skills. read more

I was visiting my folks in Paso from Santa Monica and had the unfortunate experience of breaking my eyeglasses AND tearing a contact on the same day. Deanne guided me to the most efficient and economical solution to my situation that had me leaving Walmart Optical with both new glasses (frames) as she just fit my existing lenses into new, very inexpensive, yet surprisingly stylish new frames, AND a six month supply of new contacts--both for under a hundred bucks total. All the while Deanne was engaged, informative, kind, interested, funny and efficient. A pleasurable experience that took very little time and was light on the wallet and as quickly as could possibly be expected, alleviated quite a bit of stress. Thank you Deanne. read more

Paso Robles Walmart and it is not a typical of most of Walmart's I usually go to the Arroyo Grande 1 but I was on my way to the Central Valley and thought I would stop here to pick up a few Provisions along the way. One thing that stood out with this Walmart over most was the cleanliness of the place. I think the Arroyo Grande Walmart must be much older and or is just so polluted with tourists coming from all over the country and world that they just don't have time to keep it clean. The other thing that stood out about this Walmart over others was the fact that the staff were actually helpful. While at the Arroyo Grande Walmart one time I asked one of the workers where I could find a clock and he said I have no idea and went back to his work. I said so that's it we're just done here that's the amount of help I'm going to get from you and he said and I'm not kidding yeah pretty much. Now this was the guy in the guns and knives section so there was no way I was going to get into a verbal confrontation with this man. So why four stars well it is Walmart and that's pretty much it it's just Walmart however I thought the staff were courteous and helpful the place was clean and that set it Above the Rest in Walmart fashion. read more

Easiest the biggest Walmart j have ever been in! We were able to pickup a campstove, butane and stock our camping pantry before heading out to camp. Best Buy: all Easter candy was 75percent off which was nice, especially those gold wrapped chocolate bunnies! Easy shopping and pleasant service! Paso Robles Walmart has reduced the size of all the aisles to one way traffic with your shopping cart, which forces one shopper to have to back out of the aisle. It poses a problem with the handicap in a wheelchair, if another shopper needs to get in the same aisle their visibility is limited, that also goes for 2 shopping carts in the same aisle wanting to go in opposite directions. This is one cluttered, dirty, unkempt indoor swapmeet of a facility. Aside from the friendly greeter who quit and sweet cashier that passed away, most employees are pitifully lethargic. Considering their meager salaries who can blame them? I've seldom found their prices to be worth maneuvering around the gazillion kids darting every which way without parental supervision. To my dismay they have discontinued many stocked items previously available. The parking lot is a pothole rubbish filled nightmare. Lastly, it's almost impossible to find items NOT manufactured in CHINA. I've observed the addition of a Walmart serves to downgrade communities. Come here for one thing and it's in and back out. This store stinks you half the time can't walk down the main aisles due to pallets and stuff in your away. This Walmart is a bit more disappointing than others re: the RV dept. You would expect this location to have a bit more than others in the way of accessories, cleaning products & small parts due to the close proximity of so many RV sales & parts businesses & RV Parks. Missed business opportunity for them & waste of time for us. They did however, have a McDonald's inside & at the opposite end of the parking lot about 300 feet from each other.
