I am updating because Ralph, General Manager renewed our faith in ACE :) He reached out to us, took responsibility for the issue and resolved the problem. He delivered on his word and secured us another set of pots. Thank you read more

What happened to the friendly service and smiling faces this morning? My daughter, grandson and I went to purchase some paint. Not one worker seemed happy to be working and their negative energy was depressing. We ended up buying some paint for our project, but next time we will be visiting Home Depot. read more

I love Miner's. I really appreciate the help they provide in the store. Their employees are Knowledgeable in their departments. It's like family. read more

Bought a fountain today that we have been looking at for months on display. Team members were super helpful in getting this giant heavy fountain into our Jeep. They laughed at us thinking we weren't going to be able to get it out, but we had no issue! Wasn't too bad with my only my husband and I! Thank you again for the help, now time for us to do some landscaping! read more

Miner's Ace Hardware - Hardware Stores Near Me - Atascadero, California

One of the few places that even though they didn't have what I wanted I walked away feeling good. I love the customer service at Miners in Atascadero. I came in for a particular fuse which is impossible to find (now I know) and learned a lot about fuses from the staff. Honestly their help was one of the few reasons i was able to even continue looking for the fuse. read more

I just love me a non-Big Box Store (Lowe's/Home Depot). Manly duties, that's my job. Wait, did I commit some type of microaggression, or sexist? If so, I'm so sorry. Why not the big guys? When you need selection, big stuff, commercial. Yep, when I need a regular thing or two, I'm coming here. It's a little more pricey, but OMG, you can be in/out in minutes. Let me count the ways: ====================== 1. It's tremendously organized. 2. Really nice size store, second largest Ace I've seen. 3. Nicest people on the planet work here. 4. Customer Service: You don't search for someone to ask, they ask you multiple times throughout (almost annoying) 5. It has the feel of a local "mom and pop" shop. I enjoy the experience at this Ace Hardware, Miner's, in Atascadero. read more

Stephan, in landscape tools, was extremely helpful, courteous, and informative; he answered all of my questions and gave me a number of options. I highly recommend Miners in Atascadero. read more

I went in on one of their 20% off sales recently and had an unexpected "sale" experience. I purchased a couple of items; one had a price tag of $48.73, the other had a price tag of $7.99. If I do the math correctly, $48.73+$7.99=$56.72+8.75% tax=$61.68 total. I thought with the 20% off, everything was going to come out to $41.41 plus tax. So, what did they do? The cashier said that they will get the lowest priced item and take the 20% off of that, NOT on the $48.73 with the $7.99. Rip off! Glad Lowe's is my favorite store and rarely shop at ACE. I won't go to their "Sale" events anymore. read more

Every time I walk into Miner's Ace Hardware, someone is right there to help me find exactly what I need. Hands down, the best customer service in Atascadero. The team is solid; always friendly, helpful, and ready for a good conversation. I leave with a smile every time. Whether it's top-quality tools like my shovels or perfect key cuts, they always come through! read more

Miner's Ace Hardware - Entrance to the majestic garden center! - Hardware Stores Near Me - Atascadero, California

MIner's Ace Hardware is a great place to shop for more than one's hardware needs. At Miner's, everyone is very friendly and helpful. Their prices are higher than major chains, however it is a trade-off considering the selections of items & services one receives. Compared to the big box stores, one can always find someone to assist the shopper in locating an item. The knowledgeable staff can recommend products & provide advice on how to use an item. They offer items such as plumbing parts, a full line of paint & equipment, tools, implements & related equipment, and all kinds of items for one's home life & garden needs. As a courtesy to customers, their employees will load one's vehicle with heavy or large building materials & anything else one needs assistance with. MIner's is taking a proactive approach during the pandemic, requiring all customers & their employees to wear face coverings while in the store. I think the old adage that prevention is better than cure is applicable here. Join their rewards program, it's free and comes with many benefits. read more

Just popped in to grab some plywood and the dude in the lumber yard loaded it into my truck for me. Thanks Matt! Saved some wear and tear on my shoulders. Fabulous, friendly customer service. We accidentally picked up mulch instead of soil. Went back and Ellena was polite, friendly and did the exchange in a matter of minutes. Everyone in the store is always friendly and knowledgeable. If they don't know the answer to your question, they'll find someone. The store is always clean and fun to walk-through They have a great assortment of indoor and outdoor plants ,soil etc .. lots of choices. Thank you Ellena. I frequent Miners for my yard, home and garden needs. They offer superior customer service from the time you enter the door. They have a solid variety of hardware and garden supplies. Not a ton of commercial building supplies or lumber but more than adequate for homeowner needs. Prices are fair. They offer great coupons and club incentives. Not big box prices, but not gouging either. The only knock is parking. It's horrible, but if you avoid Saturday morning you're fine. Great business for many years. read more

Our experiences here have been mostly positive. The important things are there, such as: - courteous, helpful staff members; - reasonable prices; - safety measures in place, and more crucially, they're being adhered to. The inventory isn't always what you might find at Home Depot or Lowe's, but then again, those places don't come close to the level of friendly, knowledgeable service you'll find at Miner's. A specific recommendation, however, to take their customer service up to the next level: they really need to improve on special order follow-up. If, for instance, they take down your out-of-stock product request, as well as your name and phone number, with the promise to set aside the requested item when it's back in stock, AND to call you to let you they've done so, then they should. Waiting to get a call they promised would come in 5-7 days that doesn't, then going in 10-12 days later to find said item hanging on their shelves, isn't just disappointing, it falls short of what otherwise could've been an outstanding customer service experience. And, since this has occurred on more than one occasion, it bears mentioning. read more

I have been very impressed with this Ace Hardware, always friendly and helpful staff. Good stock of hardware and gardening supplies. Stop by once a week usually. read more

This is an upgrade to Home Depot and Lowe's. The quality of their products are a little better. Their nursery is waaaay better! Customer service is...ok. Usually the older guys just glare at me which I'm obliged to reciprocate. The younger employees are cordial. Their prices are higher than Home Depot but I expect that as it's locally owned. Also the selection is limited as the stores are smaller but they surprisingly have what I need usually. I like coming to Miners I just don't have the income to be too frequent. read more

Amazing staff! So friendly, had everything we needed. Love the variety of things in the store

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I never write reviews but felt it was necessary to write one about this place. The woman at the cashier was unbelievably rude. read more

Ace hardware stores are always the best no matter where you are because they still feel like a local hardware store, and Miner's here in A-Town is no exception. The employees are friendly and know where things are in the store. If an individual employee doesn't have expertise in the specific project you're working on, there's usually another one on hand who has some, or at least has some creative ideas. You might get a wider selection at Home Depot or Lowe's, and there are times you have to go there because you're looking for something outside of Miner's inventory, but for most hardware needs, I wouldn't go anywhere but Miners if I have the choice. read more

Awesome store! The layout is fun and easy to navigate. Although the BBQ section is a pull/push door and when I have my hands full or a shopping cart opening the door is a slight challenge. I think That's my only complaint. Helpful employees, great selections, unique flowers, natives and trees. read more

Very poor customer service. I asked if they could cut an automotive key that has a chip in it. I was told that under normal conditions they could but they would not do it because of Covid as they have to go into a customers car to complete the job. That's fine. But since they won't do it can you refer me to someone who can or will. She told me she cannot give me any referrals as that is against policy. So they won't do the job for me because of Covid and yet refused to refer me to someone who will. I will never go to Ace hardware store again if that's their corporate policy. Not helpful at all. read more

I ordered a TV console from Wayfair. Lo and behold, it was missing two necessary cam screws. I'm an impatient person and I hate waiting for things to be delivered. I figured I would go to Home Depot for some. They only had one size and it was the size I didn't need. Next, I called Orchard Supply Hardware. I asked for a cam screw. "A can opener?" No, a C-A-M screw. "Well, I can't go look right now". I didn't feel like driving to Paso in case they didn't have any. My last option was Miner's. I called and asked for a cam screw and was transferred to Jerry in hardware. I asked Jerry if he had any cam screws that were smaller than the 6mm x 45.5mm. He told me they had a few sizes and if I had one to compare it to, he would help me look. I said I'm on my way. "Right now?". Yes, right now. "I'll meet you in hardware". When I arrived Jerry met me at the door wearing his "in training" vest (this is very important, trust me). We walked to hardware together where he patiently and pleasantly compared the cam screws in stock to the one I brought in. He helped me pick out 4 that were nearly identical. Fraternal cam screws, if you will. I checked out, brought them home, and was successfully able to put together the TV console with no issues. Jerry was so helpful, pleasant, and sweet. He helped me avoid having to wait for cam screws and satisfying the part of me that craves instant gratification. I think it's time for Jerry to hang up his "in training" vest because he is amazing. read more

I stopped in here looking for some plants for my garden. I talked to someone that claimed to be the "Garden Expert". He told me he had 40 years of nursery experience so I asked him about the availability of two common plants by their botanical name. He said he was not good at identifying plants by their botanical name and proceeded to look up the plants on his phone. I even had to spell the name for him. Somebody with plant knowledge needs to get in there, clean out all the dead and dying plants and set a standard of quality for this nursery. 40 years of nursery experience and they don't know a Cornus is a Dogwood...Really? read more

Atascadero Miners has this uniquely odd layout that I'm attempting to describe as plain as I can and am failing miserably... Their nursery is to the side of the parking lot with its own little shed like walkway entrance. I've never seen a checkout open in this little space, but I always venture in at odd hours and or odd weather. Smaller square footage than their big brother in SLO, they utilize their space well, just like their little brother in Los Osos. I've been in for the funniest things in the plumbing department, hardware, and tools departments, and am always offered help instantly. (I accepted help while lost in nuts and bolts land, thank you to the nice gentleman who helped me find my way)... Now a snippet of my experience in the nursery: I had planned to just get a small bag of potting soil, when my wallet yelled at me to get the bigger bag for the same price. My wallet forgot to tell me to get a cart, so in a darkened downpour, I flashed back to the days a lifetime ago when I lugged bags of soil like this daily, and just huffed one up to walk out. The young lady working in the dept I hadn't even seen yet, offers to take it from me and load it to my car, (I'll also note that she was at least 20 years younger than me ) I pointed my car out to her and told her I'd be ok cuz it was raining and close to closing but she insisted. I got a tag for technical purposes, drove my car up after paying, and she loaded it into my car, where it stayed until the rain went elsewhere. read more

I just love this store. All of the employees are helpful, the place is well organized and very clean, and the selection of plants in their garden is great! Free popcorn for your kids (or you) as you shop, is a nice unexpected treat. Great place to shop. Efficient and polite staff. This is a much better place to shop, rather than one of a big box stores. This place is awesome. I went in here two times with different projects and they were so helpful. First I went in because I had a fitting that was leaking on my gas line for my instant hot shower that I use when I go camping. I thought I was going to have to buy the hose and regulator. Bryan took it apart with help and put new tape on it and now it does not leak. Saved me $40 bucks. My second project was an install of a water heater in my horse trailer and I had no idea what fittings I needed to put it together. Tony and Dave helped me find exactly what I needed to set it up. If it wasn't for them I would have had to pay a fortune at the trailer place to get it worked on. If course I decided that I am a lousy plumber because it took me forever to get the work done. On the other hand there is a sense of satisfaction on doing the work yourself. I have been in to Miners a million times and they are always extremely helpful so I figured they deserved a review. I highly recommend miners Ace Hardware in Atascadero. read more

Man it took me 10 years to learn where all the nuts, bolts, hooks and fasteners are located.....but now you have moved everything. I was wondering if possibly you got a new manager from Costco. Costco is the king of moving something as soon as you commit to memory where it is. Actually I love Miner's. Now that I'm older it may take 15 years to know where everything is. read more

My hands-down favorite hardware / garden store EVER! Every single employee knows where EVERYTHING is at in the store. Think about that. Every single one. Every single thing. They tell you, ANNNNND then drop what they're doing to SHOW you!! HAPPILY!! Are you kidding!?!?! Today I went to pick up some screens they made for my house, and wandered through the garden center (because it's beautiful and I can't help it) and was helped by Jilly, who was super friendly, super helpful, and rooted around for her favorite samples of the ornamental grasses I loved. $100 unintentional purchase, but worth it for the experience alone, plus I got plants out of the deal. Whatever the store manager is doing, DON'T stop. Atascadero loves you HARD! read more
