We were visiting from out of town and decided to dip in and see what's good. Definitely, there was a lot!! First and foremost, being a "good" shopper is important. What I mean by this is if you know your name brands, then you know when you're getting a great deal on thrifted items. I appreciated several things about the organization of this store, my thoughts are listed below: 1) it's clear that the staff curate the donated items 2) The staff appreciated that items are donated and therefore, do not upsell or make pricing comparable to retail prices 3) Items are well cared for and well organized throughout the shop - things were easy to find -- and therefore, appreciated. This store also sold some new and packaged / bundled overstock items (i.e. socks, underwear, etc) that I allllmost got. But I hesitated -- I already have two bags of mismatched socks -- they don't need more competition! I did, however come away with some really cool finds -- and I'm glad that the staff were patient with me returning to the cash register, not once, but THREE times!! I kept catching things out of the corner of my eye, each time I tried to leave. LOL! What I got: A pair of sorel sandals for 9.99 (retail price: $140) in excellent condition. A "Sally" from Nightmare before Christmas themed hoodie from Box Lunch for 6.99 (i think) -- actual retail price: $60.00 (or so) A pack of two yo-yo's for my kids (1.99) Thick shoelaces (for Vans) for 1.00 There were some amazing hand-cobbled shoe boots that I wish my foot was a bit bigger so they'd fit -- but no dice! Never shopping here again. Rude staff %100! Everytime my partner and I go in there, they don't welcome us in, they have the worst attitude, and to help someone is the end of the world. Don't get me started on not having pricing on majority of there items. Staff mad because I was in an aisle before she came to reshelves things and getting mad at me for being "in her way". I found a set of cups I absolutely loved, but they didn't have a price tag. When I went to purchase them, they would not sell them to me because they didn't have a tag! I asked if the manager could price it, and was told 'no, we have to send it back to the goodwill pricing center'. I even asked if they could get a price from the powers at be, and call me to come back and get them.. nope! What a joke! I am so bummed! read more

I came to this good will on 11-15-24 @1000 to find a pair of jeans. I found two pairs and a wind breaker. Apparently one pair of jeans didn't have a price tag on it. The guy working the counter condescendingly told me that he can't sell the pants because of the tag missing. I asked to speak to the manager to see if she can somehow resolve the issue. Understanding she may have to call her supervisor to work through some minor pricing. My complaint is she showed zero effort in attempting to assist a costumer who was willing to buy three items . To me it showed lack of effort and laziness to try and work out an issue that I'm sure happens often. I bought no items and for that lack of effort and the condescending attitude from the first clerk I give this place a two. Effort and customer service is hard to come by these days . read more

Use to be a place to find bargains but they have went up in price so much it's ridiculous and with all the other thrift stores in town and the big box stores (Ross and Tjmaxx) you can get new household and clothing items and better prices , Plus it's ridiculous how shoppers hang out in the back of the store grabbing any good deals as they come off the truck and never make it to the sales floors . I love this Goodwill already. It was my first time to shop at this one last Sunday, July 30, 2023! Big shoutout to all the staff- who were so nice and helpful; One nice lady in the back was so kind to lend me a battery to test the clock that I wanted. The filipina lady/cashier was also nice to help me with 3 big paper bags that didnt have handles, she brought them by the door while I quickly took my car from the parking lot. (I will bring a foldable cart next time ‍) That was "going beyond" your job and very much appreciated. Thank you! I like that the price of items (home decors & purses) were reasonable. The selection was great! I didnt buy any clothes. Some were priced ok, some a little too high. But I will definitely be shopping again next time we visit the coast read more

Good morning, I go shopping at Goodwill very often. This week I was there 3 times. My last purchase was today 6/2/2023 two chairs and a small camping tent. I felt the sticks were there in the bag, so I just bought it. An hour later after I checked I realized there were only 3 sticks and were broken. So technically is just got a piece of fabric which won't work. I called the store and spoke with the manager to see if they could make an exception. She said I should have check before leaving the store and that they wont be able to do a refund or exchange. How was I supposed to build a tent in the middle of your store. So, I thought your employees checked the items that come in to make sure they are in good working condition. My mistake. Maybe you should have a big sign by the register: PLEASE CHECK YOUR ITEMS BEFORE YOU PAID, NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES" I know is in your receipt but most of the time we don't check those tiny letters. I'm really frustrated, because I paid you for a piece of trash. And is not fair. You just lost a very good client. I will never set another foot in your stores and I will make sure I tell friends a family. read more

Good morning. I love coming to this Goodwill. I love how I always get greeted as Iwalk in. The store is always oh so neat ND nice. Prices have gotten pretty high, though I will say. There are a few employees who are very rude and act unprofessional. I have 2 bad interactions with 2 specific employees there. The rude and rascist gentleman that "so calls himself assistant manager is not a good look for Goodwill. He followed my son around the store, assuming he was shoplifting . We went to pay for 3 items when he snatched it out my hands and said that he was NOT GOING TO SELL IT TO ME Due to one of us SWITCHED THE TAGG. He then stated that he could and should kick us out for doing so. That was literally how it was. I don't need nor do anything like. He literally got a rouse off it . It was disgusting. The chines or Filipino lady is awful. She rushes customers by asking, "Are u ready are you ready?" At one point, she yelled hello .. instead of a simple "I can help" who is next. No customer service what so ever. SHe then asks you if you would like to round up ur pennies, bt says it in an ugly and fast meaner that I told her no I would not. She never explained where the penny was going. She then asked if I qualify for any of their discounts. I ended up leaving the items and my son ND I walked out. Other than those two, I think the staff is great. The new assistant manager lady is awesome. She always makes it a plesent experience when shopping. Iv listen to how she speaks ND treats all customers with dignity ND respect. She is Always doing something. I thank her for all her hard work. She is never rude. Over all great experience. 08.08.2018 Hubby had to work so he dropped us off here. If it wasn't going to be a good place we'd head over to the library. Two hours later.... we barely left the store and hubby was coming to get us. LOL! This store is small but was pretty clean and organized. They had clothes categorized by gender, then by size (SMLXL) then by colors. They only had one two-sized rack of kids clothes so Little O didn't have much to look through. The dressing rooms were available all the time and clean. Throughout the time we were there, the employees were always organizing and continuously putting clothes away from the dressing rooms. Housewares were organized as best as possible by categories. Shoes were mixed together (all genders) but organized by color. Three bags, two hours and $95 later we finally left the store. It was a fun and successful treasure hunt for us today at this Goodwill. read more

My mother and I were treated very poorly by the own manager ( female/ heavier set lady) awful treatment and when I asked why was she so nice to white customers but very rude to Hispanics she stayed quiet!!!!! What a bummer I'm so disappointing in Goodwill's, my son and I stopped by there in late October to try to look for a coat to use for a Halloween costume, everything we saw when we walked in were new items that were literally boxed, when we were looking through the clothing they were ranging from anywhere between 10 and $50. It was absolutely ridiculous isn't goodwill supposed to be for people with lower incomes to afford secondhand clothing? Stick to the smaller thrift shops with much better options, prices and even better customer service read more

Not to say that you can't find good deals there but man the pricing in general is outrageous. Full disclosure here but I am a reseller. This review, however, is coming from a standard customer point of view as well. The shoes are so overly priced its actually offensive. Just because its Nike or Adidas doesn't make the shoe worth more than you buy on Ebay and in much better condition. $25-35 or even more for a pair of whatever Nike in just OK condition actually makes me feel offended for some reason and I don't offend easily. Pricing is on point for some items but in general it's very off the mark. I haven't been back in months. I frequent other thrift stores in the area and give them hundreds of dollars every month (per store) for my online business. It's too bad Goodwill won't take my money as well. read more

Aaron, states is one of the managers at this store. The big guy that's ALWAYS wears a mask with horrendous BO (body odor). Check'd me out today, with my 3 yr. Ran up the 4 / 5 items i had* Stated the total cost, i asked him to repeat that total $$ twice maybe even 3 times, as i can't hear him with his mumbled voice. As i'm getting my money out of my wallet i decide to change my mind on one of the items.. I stated "actually ...a pulled the item up," an he already clicked the button to accept / open drawer. As i already had my mind changed. Hadn't handed him anything yet, an he states "my bad."Knowing i had changed my mind on one of the items before going forward with the transaction. I said "you know it's fine. And carried on with the payment, gave over the 21$ with 4 cents toward their job training program* whatever they state it is. There's a line at this point, an another associate checking out costumers as well, he moves on to the other costumer. Me an my son are already in the parking lot loading up the items, he comes out with a Receipt in hand stating i didn't pay for one of the items. If i can come back in blah blah. an grabs the item from me, never apologizes for him mistake... is acting like i stole the 6.99$ item* I tell him you know what ill bring back all the items you can void the transaction, an start over. As i originally didn't one of them to begin with, once im in the store he just totally rude, mean. As if i stole, i stated i shop here every day. And i do the amount of $$ i spend at goodwill weekly if not monthly is insane* I know most of the employees by name, i love it there. But when i tell you this" Aaron " came at me in front of all the customers, as if i was trying to get over on them / steal a 7$ item is insane!!!!! Again never took any accountability for his wrong doing, no apology. anything~ Stated he can not void an transaction, an to come back at 4pm when the real store manager Molly will be in. I go to grab the *golf caddy* $6.99 item* that he never rang up to put next to me an my son he grabs it an playing tug a war with it at this point. Again acting like i STOLE THE ITEM. I paid the additional 7$ grab the rest of my items an my three year old son an left. Came back from the corporate phone number* At this point i'm furious for how he's coming across towards me for his mistake, saying you don't need to cuss at our associates. When i was only ever talking to him there was no one near him or up at the cash registers at this point* You could tell he was flustered an shaking, stated he couldn't take the huge golf caddy cart back out to my car. I will say this. Am not from this town and live 7 hours away yesterday on 12/27/2022. I had a great customer service. The lady who wore her arm in a sling was great. We spent 150.00 yesterday. My daughter saw these pair of pants we saw yesterday and before we left town we decided to go back and get them on 12/28/2022. Upon going in today, we were hustled into demanded putting my bag into a locker. Which I said I don't feel comfortable with that because I have a allot of money in my bag. She said I don't make the policy. So we left. But upon sitting here and writing this review we noticed 6 people walk in and out with oversized purses and backpacks and they were able to go in without putting their bag into a locker. Even the lady that stopped us right in front her allowed a woman to walk past her with backpack And because they looked like they had money i felt like I was profiled. And absolutely I have money. So maybe they should judge it's book by its cover. And not to profile, as the only I saw that had to put their bag in was a guy that appeared to be homeless. Visit Paso Robles for lunch at one of their great restaurants around park square and then check out their Goodwill and other stores. Fun day with gal pals. This goodwill is bigger than it looks from the outside. Very clean with good quality items. I will definitely visit it again only take my sister with me next time. My purchases ranged from workout pants, to a wooden box for organization, to a campfire poker, to kitchen tongs, to a beachy pillow with starfish on it. I scored! read more

This Good Will is HIGHLY organized by size, color, department, and has a gigantic selection that changes almost daily. Their shoe selection is magnificent as well and many shoes are brand new. They also carry hats, belts, new socks and quite a variety that most Good Wills don't carry. Each week one colored tag is 20% off and every Mon-Wed Seniors above 55 get a discount! As a Paso native and a person that frequents Goodwill a lot! I have to say this Saturdays experience was ridiculous and I will never EVER give them a dime of my money again. Walking into the store grabbing my mask out of my purse I was shocked to hear an employee SCREAM across the store PUT YOUR MASK ON NOW!!!!! AND OVER YOUR NOSE NOW!!!!!!!!! (loud) as I put my mask on I noticed her scream at tons more people walking in the store. One lady walked in and she told her if she didnt have a mask get out. The lady asked if she had one she could use in the store, the employee VERY LOUDLY made it known they have none to give out so the lady turned around and left. Now as a person in healthcare I agree with masks wholeheartedly. I get it!, but what I dont get is the disrespect of screaming across a crowded store to obtain someones attention?? And they even have a security guard now at Goodwill?? Why not have him stand at the front door and politley reinforce the mask policy because I have been to goodwill lots since the pandemic and they have NEVER enforced the mandate. I brought in a truckload of items ranging from antiques to high dollar items. The guy at the donation drop off was rude, unhelpful, and treated me like an inconvenience. He was no different to others who were dropping off. I was used to this kind of treatment in my hometown, but expected it to be different in Paso Robles. I will not donate to Goodwill again. I recently visited this Goodwill with a visit to co-incide with the Great Western Bike Rally. Boy, have the prices jumped on all their items! I was a bit shocked and surprised, and put a number of items BACK out of my basket, due to the cost. A pair of colorful running shoes (used) for $20? I give Goodwill credit for putting marganialized people to work and training those who can't find job. And I also realize that minimem wages and healthcare put a cramp on EVERY business. I guess the 'good old day's of cheap thift stores is gone with the invention of Ebay. Still there are 'bargains' to be had...but with a new Dollar store down the way, I thought twice about some of the overpriced items here and didn't purchase them. read more

Came to check out the Halloween costumes. They have quite a selection! Prices are ok, not so cheap but they have a lot of costumes and decorations! They also have camping stuff and tons of kitchen stuff and clothes of course. Not too much kids stuff which is what I usually go for mainly. The store is a little cluttered but its pretty organized and while the staff isn't friendly, they aren't bad either. All in all, I would return! read more

I was completely impressed by the quality, variety and prices of clothing. An extensive collection of books and movies blew me away right along with the three long racks of shoes. I almost died when I saw that it was color coded and even put in order of sizes (although a few were placed about but I doubt that was at the hands of the employees). Pretty much what you'd expect for a goodwill store. The difference was the people.... I normally go to the GW store in Atascadero because i work near it but visit this one every once in a while. I'd say give them a break seeing as its xmas eve, however its not the only time these same people have been rude. I know their policy's very well, they will help you to the curb with large items but its up to you afterwards. The lady at the counter was so concerned she was gonna have to lift a finger, and all i was asking was where to put my truck. I believe none of them wanted to grab the chest i had purchased, even for the trip to the door. The lady in the back room near the rear entrance (pickup zone) wasnt much better. Had the same concern , i told her i could handle it once i got it outside. She rudely shewed my son off from coming thought the door said only one of us could come back, he didn't understand, he went and hid in my truck. He's on the spectrum fyi (ASD). She was going to attempt to drag this item to and through the door, i asked if she had a dolly ... i grabbed a dolly she had and lifted my newly acquired chest on to it so we could roll it out the door, she tells me I'm not supposed to lift things in the store (somebody had to). The easiest experience i had was lifting it into my truck on my own, it really wasn't very heavy. Makes me realize i need to review the Atascadero store, cause they are stellar and friendly easy 4-5 stars for them read more
