I rarely go into this business only when I need boots or pair of jeans that I'm willing to pay more than $50 for. Recently a person I know went to boot barn and the two different sales people that helped her two different times told her that the items she was picking and purchasing we're not coordinating and that she should look at everybody else and see what they're wearing so she can buy the correct items. I understand it's the sales person's job to advise but not to tell people that that's not correct. They need to be taught how to speak to people just for this. I will never buy from you again. Bought a pair of $300 boots online and went in a few days later to pick them up. Spoke with the girl at the counter, who was the only one working behind the counter, after she finished a conversation and transaction with another employee and showed her my order info. She called to the back warehouse several times but got no answer. Apparently the girl receiving orders was on her lunch break and didn't want to be bothered. So the poor girl working up front, by herself, had to go in the back to find my order. After several minutes she came back with my order. I almost walked out of the store but didn't. I tried them on but they didn't fit. Another girl came by to see how I was doing and was very helpful. We found the same boot in stock but smaller size and they fit perfect. She took them in the back and treated them and they looked and fit wonderfully. The two young ladies were very helpful but the place seemed like it needed better management and a good dusting. The deer head above the cashier needs his antlers dusted and running a vacuum around the place couldn't hurt. I'll go back because of those two young ladies that were helpful but management needs to step up and hire more staff that will make shopping there a better customer experience. read more

My first time in Boot Barn ever. My girls have been doing riding lessons for a few years and we thought it would be nice to check out. Hilarious when I asked the salesperson/manager if they carried english riding boots. You should have seen her face as she practically rolled her eyes at me. LOL. Ok, so I guess this is a western-only kind of place. Too bad as my girls are kind of into exploring other forms of riding and might need clothes and gear. The selection of boots is pretty decent but the prices are full-price retail- was surprised there weren't any sales or loyalty discounts offered. They also had a pretty good selection of western wear, including rodeo performance shirts and just casual fun clothes and accessories. We are checking out the online store for the boot brands and will probably get something there. read more

poor management I've been living in paso robles since 1998 and I've been going to boot barn since 1998. they have the worst selection of shirts I've ever seen in a western store. they carry what I call mexican farm worker cloths and boots. their boots are mostly square toed not only that but their shirts are so crammed into the rack that you break the hanger trying to get it back in. the shirts are cheap quality nothing fancy. whoever does the buying for this store needs to be fired. in 27 years I've only found 2 shirts and 1 jacket I liked. whenever I go to visit my daughter I stop in boot barn orange county. .My first time there I bought 3 shirts 1 jacket and 1 suit jacket. boot barn paso robles is very poorly managed. sorry guys but everytime I go in paso store there's maybe 2 or 3 customers gee I wonder why? it's really a pain in the ass looking through racks of cloths so crammed together you can't get anything out or back in. corporate office needs to step in. look over their reviews are mostly bad. read more

I hadn't owned cowboy boots since I was 5 years old, I had purchased some nice looking motorcycle looking boots online and bought them just to find out they weren't the same looking boot and were fake looking felt like plastic. So I went to a local boot shop (Carr's Boots) but they didn't carry any type of motorcycle boots, just cowboy and work boots, but I looked and tried on several boots but they were too narrow and she really didn't help me much, it's like she didn't even try, so I went to the Santa Maria Boot Barn and went through every row but I didn't know what to look for and no employee assisted me, so I went to Paso Robles Boot Barn thinking they might have more boots. Parking was tight but I got me a parking spot, this place was busy, as soon as I walked in I was in the 1st row looking over all the boots and this young lady came up to me and asked how she can help. I just said I was looking for a brown nice looking boot, then she asked me what kind of use were the boots for, I said for going out, entertainment type of use. She said, not in this aisle, these were work boots, from that point on she assisted me in every way possible with assistance from her boss. I got a boot that looked and felt great and she got me boot accessories to maintain this boot for years to come. This store is outstanding, I wish all stores had this type of customer service. Anyways after I purchased, I ran a condition and weather solution on them. Afterwards I purchased online polish from Saphir to shine these puppies up. read more

Talk about HORRIBLE customer service! I stood at the register trying to purchase two shirts as I was COMPLETELY ignored by a salesperson and then dismissed by the manager when I asked if I could get some help. In fairness, salesperson looked up on something. So I waited... and waited... and waited some more. I promise you 10 mins passed as I watched her on the computer, talk to a salesperson on the floor and finally get the manager. But multitasking isn't obviously taught at this Boot Barn. Did she look up even once to acknowledge me? Did she say, "I'll be right with you."? No! I was literally across the counter from her. I could have reached out and touched her nose. But the icing on the cake... the manager came up and again I was ignored. I asked if a salesperson could ring me up and she looked at me like I spoke another language. I said, "I'm just trying to buy these shirts and I can't seem to get anyone's attention!" The first unresponsive salesperson looked at me and said very rudely, "I was doing something else." I said I don't need these shirts that bad and walked out. The manager said ok and didn't do a thing. The reason this Boot Barn has such horrible customer service - the manager. She obviously haven't taught her staff they are in customer service and the object of the store to help customers PURCHASE items on sale within the store. Retail business depends on making sales and that is done by helping customers PURCHASE items. But when customers can't even get noticed, why should they stay and put up with that? Honestly, If you are that unhappy in retail, you can't manage a smile, address a customer, and then maybe complete a sale, go work at the DMV. My husband and I stopped by this boot barn as we were passing by on our way home. I am so glad we did. I have been wanting boots for so long, but due to my wide feet, high instep, and large calves, I could never find a pair to fit me. I had actually given up. Well, thanks to this FABULOUS young lady (sales associate) named Gio I no longer feel defeated. Gio was very Knowledgeable, had wonderful advice, and found me the perfect pair of boots. Went there to buy outfits and boots for my family on November 19th around 5ish pm , while I was there the store manager Hollie ( I believe that's what she said her name was) was yelling at another worker that was their and my kids and I said the worker must of messed up pretty bad and that's not how you talk to coworkers. This place sucks , been here on 3 occasions all work related visits . The 1st Time was about 2 years ago I felt very in welcomed staff was very rude , then the 2nd time I only went their only because my coworker needed new boots and the short hott workers was very pleasant and helped my coworker with choosing the best boots for his job . And I felt very welcomed to be their that day that I ended up buying another pair of work boots and some work shirts. Well today I went there around 9:30am since I needed steel toe for the job I was on . I looked on Yelp and boot barn was the closest and opened at 9:00 am . Not today I had to go get boots at Walmart since I was so pressed for time. . I just walked in to BootBarn for the very first time to get my very first pair of Western boots. With that said, I sell shoes. I work in retail. I understand what makes a good customer experience. Despite my lack of experience in western wear, I had an expectation of a good standard of customer service and BootBarn LITERALLY provided the opposite of good service. I didn't receive a greeting when I walked in, not a single person asked if I needed help while I wandered around, and not one person walked by to ask me if I needed help with my BOOT shopping....AT BOOTbarn. Went here for my first pair of Western style boots. The store was moderate busy, a lot of Associates seemed to be wondering around the clothing and only a couple in the boots area. Luckily, I found an Associate that was very helpful and answered all the questions even though she seemed really busy! I choose the perfect looking pair for me, unfortunately I got home, tried them on and they seem to be a bit loose so I'll be back tomorrow and try to exchange them for a smaller size. The customer service at this store is awful. The store is stocked with a good selection so I've gone in for boots many times but it is not worth the rude girls working in there. Today I went in looking for a specific pair of boots. I searched on my own for a while then asked one of the girls working if they have the boots and showed a photo. The employee's response was "I don't think so" and then continued to fold clothes without offering any additional help. Another employee was behind us watching and offered no assistance. My fiance Is all about rocking cowboy boots, and although I enjoy them on others, I always felt awkward just thinking about wearing western wear. I felt like I'd be falsely advertising myself as a western chick (raised english). Well, one evening an hour or so b4 they closed my fiance dragged me in. I LOVED IT!! not only did I leave with the cutest western boots, but jewelry (gorgeous selection!!) And a beautiful flowy dress. And my man got a new hat, vest, and coat ....we didn't realize the time, and the girls working up front never rushed us or acted any way but sweet, helpful and accommodating. This store is a joke. Been there twice in a week, both times no one came to help me when I was clearly seeking someone's help. The second trip they were pretty busy, but it didn't look like they were short handed, I saw at least 6-7 employees not doing anything. So I asked an employee if I could try on a couple pairs of jeans, so she said yes, and I followed her to the dressing rooms. She proceeded to open two dressing rooms and let two other customers in and turned around and looked at me then walked away without saying anything to me. This store is nothing like other stores, employees are usually extremely helpful. Not this one. I'm extremely disappointed. For a store that has some generally above average cost merchandise, it has very poor customer service. read more

I went in to arrange a boot transfer from another store last night. I paid up front per normal procedure. When I got home to SLO, a friend had sent me a link to a site that had the same boots for MUCH cheaper with free 2-day shipping. I called the store today to request the "lowest price guarantee" price match and the girl said ok. I proceeded to tell her where I saw the boots for the better price and she said "well we only match with one site." I asked which one and she replied Amazon. I think that is not at all fair. If an authorized online retailer has a lower price, and you say you do price match, it should be honored. Now I have to waste gas to go back to paso for 2 minutes to get my refund less than 24 hours later. I just hope that the other place still has the boots in stock by the time my refund is posted on my account. Sucks because this is the only thing the recipient wanted for Christmas and now I may not be able to get it because of the waste of time. Do your research! Absolute worst experience I've ever had in a local retail shop that I spend a LOT of money at! I typically have decent service here, but the new manager, (or assistant manager) has a lot to learn about how to treat their customers! I wish I could say that I would never step foot back in this store again, but considering we just don't have too many other options for this type of merchandise, I unfortunately don't have much of a choice. Unfortunately, Premier Ag, where I've always been treated with nothing but kindness and respect, closes at the same time I get off work, otherwise, I would do all my shopping there. If you do shop here, and plan on making an exchange, with a receipt, be prepared for a lecture and to be belittled in front of other customers! I heart cowboy boots so when we saw the Boot Bar, we had to stop by! They have a great selection of boots, apparel and kitschy cowboy stuff. The boot prices are pricier but that's expected for real leather cowboy boots. The staff was really friendly-- greeting us as soon as we got to the door and checking on us occasionally to make sure we were doing okay. In addition, we had my BFFs corgi in tow and they had no concerns with him joining us shopping. This place is definitely worth a stop! read more
