Great customer service. Very nice and polite ladies. Lots of sandels, hiking boots, running shoes trail or street, socks, and they will look at your gait on a treadmill. Super cool. Masks are still required here. read more

I was disappointed. I thought with their orthotic experience, I would get a better fit than at the usual running store where I buy shoes. Typically, a store will look at your feet, watch you walk, ask a few questions such as whether you're looking more for light and fast or long miles and cushioned, chat about the amount of drop etc. This store just handed me a bunch of shoes to try on with no comments on my gait in the shoe etc. Most stores will have you run on their treadmill to see how they feel. SLO Motion had me just try to run up and down their 20 foot aisle. They even argued with me when I said a couple of pairs didn't feel right. I'm definitely not coming back. read more

Dr Byrne referred me here for an orthotic insole. I was on the fence and skeptical given some of the reviews and figured I could just find the orthotic on Amazon. However given how much I like Dr Byrne I took a chance. Boy am I glad I did. Charla was my fit specialist and she was attentive, helpful and I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. Plus I got a great deal (my luck day they had my size a style I liked on clearance for 1/2 off) on two pair of athletic shoes that support my feet and work nicely with my orthotics. If you want professional help first see Dr. Byrne, then follow his advice and if you need orthotic inserts and help this is the place to go. read more

I live in San Jose and wanted to drive down to get precise measurements for the insoles I wanted. But alas COVID19 shelter in place is a thing and online order is the only option. I ordered the capsulitis insoles that has the 2nd toe cutout to relieve pressure off of my 2nd right toe. And ordered a regular met bar + metatarsalgia padding for the left one that is currently not in pain. The store straight up called me to verify and explain what's going on so Im thankful for that Somehow, even without an in person fitment, the custom insoles fit me! Finally got some relief of my 2nd toe for the first time since my injury Thank you facebook ad! And the price point is absolutely fair considering quality and how each insole is made-to-order Edit: my podiatrist is impressed with the quality and was stoked i found this vs going the expensive custom route. And also my chriopractor is quite impressed too! read more

I came across their ad on Facebook and decided to visit. I had one goal when I went into SLO motion shoes. To find running shoes that worked better for me than my current running shoes. I worked with Charla, she was friendly helpful and thanks to her I found a pair that worked for me There is definitely a mark up (which is to be expected) , but the convenience of walking out with a pair was worth it. read more

I'm a male runner that have had a lot of ball of feet pain and second toe capsulitis I've been dealing with for 5 years now. Have tried so many different things and nothing ever gives me much relief where I can run. I purchased the Slomotion orthotics for the second toe capsulitis and they were simply awful to run in. Way to heavy for running, they weigh as much as my running shoes. Hopefully the Slomotion orthotics help some runners but sure did not me. I wore then about a week at work walking around trying to get them broke in , but just did not help me in any way. read more

Attentive, friendly, individualized service with specialized focus on selecting appropriate styles and fit for podiatric concerns. I am vegan, and was able to find two pairs of shoes without animal skins, that were cute and had arch support for my flat feet. Also bought house-designed inserts that were measured to fit my arch. Definitely recommend for anyone with flat feet or other feet issues. read more

It was an ok experience. The lady was nice enough. Not a wide selection of shoes. They mostly deal with people from the hospital I think that need help with their feet. I did not want her to put my shoes on for me and she was confused about it but I just said no it's cool I can put the shoes on myself :). I ended up with a new pair of hokas. No deals or discounts but that's ok. I like to support local businesses when I can. So there ya go. It's a middle of the run experience, not good not bad. read more

Came here to buy a pair of shoes for work, and was helped by Greg. What a different shoe "shopping" experience. He did gait testing, inspected my feet, actually measured my foot, fit me for orthotics that helped me in ways that relieved pain I have had in my foot for years. He showed me a new way to lace my shoes to prevent heel slipping. Showed me that the colors they put on shoes isn't just for show, but actually has a meaning.. mind blown. And they didn't charge any more then famous footwear or any other local shoe store. I will forever come here for work and athletic shoes from now on! read more

It was worth the drive up to Templeton for the unparalleled quality of service and confidence that I have the right shoe, fit, and orthotics to keep me and my overly stretchy connective tissue safe and happy on trail runs. read more

My feet hurt so much that i thought I was going to get a different job. But, after seeing Dr Byrne and SLO motion shoes I am walking without pain! The people at SLO Motion Shoes knew just what type of shoe to fit me with and were very helpful in achieving a great fit! Thank you SLO Motion! read more

Martin helped fit my inserts. He explains explained everything to me. I took the treadmill test and was fitted for awesome inserts. Dr. BYRNE apt was super fast while this appointment was slower and more informative. Sad when the Doctor's bedside manner doesn't match as a shoe store worker. Would recommend getting fitted here. Charla Bay was a great help at Slo Motion shoes. She was patient and knowledgeable. I found comfortable New Balance shoes and my husband purchased a similar pair with Mr. Wyche. He had good insights and helped my husband realize the benefits of supportive footwear. We will be going back to Slo Motion shoes!! read more

I had a wonderful experience with them. Stephanie was knowledgeable and very helpful. I purchased inserts and two pairs of orthodox shoes which I love. I thought it to be a bit pricey but well worth it to help me walk better and not hurt read more

Worst medical experience ever. The treatment at San Luis Podiatry Group always begins with a sale at SLO Motion Shoes. That is the go-to fix for the group. No surprising since there is co-ownership between the group and the store. Be aware not all orthotics are covered by insurance. My orthotics fell apart in a week. See the bottom of the letter where they refund for the low quality orthotics. For the record, the medical group cannot take constructive criticism about its staff or scheduling. You will be dropped. See Below. -- Joseph, We appreciate your interest in obtaining podiatric care as a patient of San Luis Podiatry Group. We take pride in the level of care that we provide to all patients. It seems we will not be able to meet your scheduling needs now and in the future. Having provided exceptional care to thousands of patients over the years we do understand that we can't provide care to all patients. We will provide a copy of your chart notes and would recommend the following podiatrists to continue your care in the future. Rex Thornhill, DPM Scott Adams, DPM You will be receiving a refund check for the orthotics, under separate cover, from SLO Motion Shoes. We wish you well with your future care. I am so relieved and pleased FIRST DAY since I received the orthotic for my capulitis of the second toe. Thanks to Greg for the direct phone call and discussion. It has really worked. Just returned from Very Long walk with my dog. She is really grateful too. read more

I ordered orthotics for capsulitis online, i got them really quick. I tried them and they were super uncomfortable, which is to be expected with orthotics at first. It was just more than the norm and was painful in spots I didn't expect to hurt. I tried to return them because I decided they were not going to work out for me. I spoke with a man, (can't remember his name) really laid back and easy going fella. I was informed I could return them because they are basically customized orthotics. The gentleman spoke with me, heard my concerns and what I had been dealing with and recommended I give them another try when my feet were not so sensitive. I did just that and although my issue is not completely resolved yet, I am happy to report I've seen A LOT of improvement, less pain and inflammation, and I can be much more on my feet than previously. So thank you to the gentleman for hearing me out and giving me your advice! read more

This is the only place I will get my shoes. The people there are so knowledgeable and courteous and literally wait on you hand and foot. I came in right before they were closing and they had no problem staying open late just for me. They did not rush me they did not pressure me. I would highly recommend coming here to purchase your work shoes your dress shoes and your everyday shoes. read more

I took time off work to check out the shoe of the month. Hiking shoe, water proof-just what I wanted, just what I was looking for-and to try on in person -perfect! I was Excited to try it out!! When I arrived I was told oh, the shoe of the month?? They did not have my size and unable to get more for at least a couple of months as companies changed. Wow, really disappointing. I wish I had known before taking the time off work or drive the 25 miles */- up, then back to work (an hour in drive time) . Emails go out with shoe of the month, why not let us know it is not available?? One woman helpfully offered a discount on another shoe (discontinued shoe?) but that was not what I was looking for. The second, while she brought out a shoe for me to try, simply bummed me out. I just did not feel any happiness, any pleasure in her helping me. I asked questions and felt I almost had to pry answers out. We all have bad days, but I am sorry to say I will think twice before making the trip. read more

Have purchased two pairs of shoes at SLO Motion Shoes. Am satisfied with both service and results of the athletic style shoes and the orthotics that were ordered by Dr. Byrne. Hard to believe that something as simple as an orthotic could bring nearly instant relief to my aching feet. read more

We could not be happier; SLO Motion Shoes is fantastic! We purchased great shoes that are so comfortable, we're walking on air. We liked them so much we bought 3 pairs. The shoes are specially designed for our elderly foot issues, but they don't look like old people shoes. Martin and his staff were knowledgable, patient, courteous and professional. They have a huge variety that allowed us to not compromise on the style we like. Thanks SLO Motion, we'll be coming back! Jona and Rachel Liebrecht Avila Beach read more

Dr Byrne and the SLO Motion shoe staff are amazing. I am a runner and RN. I have been running since high school. I have never had an injury until I turned 50. I have a neuroma that has bothered me for years, but never kept me from my daily runs or working 12 hour shifts. I had a skiing injury on the opposite knee of the foot neuroma....and then my neuroma pain went from 2-10. I could hardly work 2 hours without having to change shoes and try to rub the pain away while working. Dr Byrne got me right in. He then sent me to the shoe part of his practice. The staff at SM shoes have helped me so much. Stephanie, Charla and Greg are so knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Neuromas can be hard to make better. The staff worked with me as many as 2 hours at a time, trying different shoes, inserts etc. I think I went in 3 different times within 2 weeks. They made adjustments for me, suggestions and offered emotional support too. They never sold me anything extra. Greg told me to stop buying stuff and lets make adjustments to what you have. You just don't get service like that anymore. I am currently having very little to no pain, but I know if I do have more pain, I feel comfortable going back in to ask for help. Thanks so much! They also give a medical profession discount. Very helpful and will always be the first place I go. read more

I have looked for shoe inserts and had some made by doctors all at great expense. SLO Motion Shoes was the first to address my problem and I feel their price and quality as well as advice was worth it. The inserts were 20% of the price I would pay a doctor. I look forward to using them for my wife's insert as well. read more

Whoever it was that fitted me was not particularly attentive. He didn't spend much time trying to understand my shoe needs, both in fit and fashion. I've got very difficult feet and my shoes have to be extremely supportive. So I usually wear only one pair for 90% of the time, which means I want them to look a certain way. Not fancy, but reasonable and, as I told him, not tennis shoes. My salesperson didn't really work to accommodate any of that. Fortunately we did find something that fit well enough, although I'm not really happy with how they look as my #1 pair of shoes. They are, as I didn't want, (nicer) tennies. They didn't have the color I wanted in, so we put in an order and paid for the shoes--the ones we ordered and a pair of sandals I took home right then. They said they'd call when my shoes were in. Months go by. No word. Finally, we called them to ask about my shoes, since we did pay and my current pair of shoes are literally falling apart. To note, I go to school out of area, so I'm not in town all that much. Otherwise I would have called sooner, but still. I was expecting, as they promised, they would call me when my shoes got in. But when we called, they didn't have the shoes. In fact, the model had changed and they hadn't even ORDERED the shoes, let alone called to let me know. They didn't order the shoes I had already paid for, and they didn't contact me. I repeat because I'm dumbfounded. It would be one thing (a still less than thrilling thing, mind) if we hadn't purchased the shoes and had simply put a hold on them. Needless to say, I'm unlikely to return. I felt very ignored during my visit and now this incompetence with no real apology offered, let alone any kind of compensation. However, I do quite like the sandals I got, it just feels like luck that the salesperson happened to find something that fit so well. read more
