She told me what to do and it has changed my life I can see again without using eye drops at all. Some wouldn't believe not to use eye drops but it is best not to leave your eyes alone. Greeted immediately by the front desk. Checked in and within 10 min. I was taken back by a very pleasant young lady. She ran tests and when she was finished within 10 min. Dr. Karen came in. Pleasant, personal and ran her own tests. Explained to me our results and explained what would be our next step. I've been to 2 different Dr.'s earlier in the year. Every time I visit, I am still shocked at how different the service is at this location vs the Atascadero location. This location is Paso Robles is just phenomenal, I can't rave about them enough. I have gone in a few times to get my glasses tightened/cleaned, and every time, I am greeted with a smile and someone is always quick to help me right away. They have a wide variety of lenses to choose from including my favorite, Ray-ban. I had a check up with Dr. Hile and he was phenomenal - so helpful, informative, and funny as ever! I tried to get my prescription changed because I didn't like the progressive glasses the doctor prescribed and the staff acted like they never heard of someone wanting to switch their prescription before. They were so rude on the phone and finally told me just to come in. As if I ever want to go back there and deal with such unprofessional behavior. They need some training on how to treat and talk to patients better. read more

I am a newer existing patient that stopped by to see if I might have any optical lenses benefits available since I had just purchased a pair of frames "on a whim" from a local optical frames shop. Linda was AMAZING and extremely thorough with every step in the process determining when it might be best for me to have my lenses made. She took into account time, cost, and most importantly, eye health!! So I had a appointment today at 1:00, I arrived at 1:10, while I stepped in and told them my name and the appointment time a young woman at the front deck keep turning around, she never said hello just turned around, while I waited about a minute or maybe a bit under she said the office has a 10 min grace period and that I would need to reschedule. I drove from San Luis Obispo rushing to make this appointment. After I left I spoke to a manager by the name of Anna stating that I was 13 min late, untrue statement. This place is unprofessional and it was a big disappointment because I drove 30 miles and now I will have to figure something else out. Not cool! read more

I will never go to this company again. After cataract surgery I went to Optometrist Dr. Major for the two measurements. He stated that Medicare would provide one pair new glasses. Wrong. After the 2nd Optometrist visit, I walked into the optical dispensary My sun glasses cost $677 after Medicare deduction. The technician at the optical dispensary told me the optical dispensary office is separate from Optometrist's office. Wrong. Two weeks later I came in to pick up my glasses, was told I owe $45, I paid for glasses in FULL by Visa card. The office manager told me "The $45 is balance due Optometrist Dr. Major after Medicare payment. (This is like LensCrafters holding on to your fully paid for glasses because you owe your doctor.) What happened to patient confidentiality? The office manager stated she often has to remind the Optometrists' not to discuss cost of glasses with the customers. Dr. Major often incorrectly tells his customers Medicare will provide for glasses after cataract surgery. To date, there is no invoice from Optometric Care showing dates, charges, Medicare payments and balance due. No sun glasses. Only a hand written $45 on a COPY of my "Miscellaneous Payment" receipt from the optical dispensary office. I called office and asked why I have no invoice for Optometrist' balance. Was told I could come in and get an invoice. Again, this is like going to Lens Crafters telling you to go to your doctor's office and pay your Optometrist bill before you can get your fully paid for glasses at Lens crafters. read more

Dr Major wins my vote each time I take my kids there. His engagement with my teenage twins is as impressive as it is with my special needs son. I can't say enough about the bedside manners of the doctors in this office. Dr Major officially won me over when he told my son that he sees kids all the time and it s finally nice to see someone "normal" which may sound silly. But that was the first time my son has ever heard that and he knew just how much my son needed to hear that. He is fantastic. I just happened to find Dr. Wells online as it had been around 3 years since my last exam. I've worn glasses/contacts for many years and have been to a few optometrists over the years (since age 10), even working in an optometry office for a few years. I was VERY happy with the knowledge and professionalism in this office, front and back. I thought my current glasses were working fine, but Dr. Wells was able to fine tune my prescription. I will see much better! He also took his time with the exam and explained the health of my eyes. Cataracts are a worry as you age. Their optical dept. took very good care of me, helping to find just the right frame. I always have a hard time with that part and feel like I'm picky, but it's expensive and you'll have them for a while! (They give you a nice percentage off the price when you don't have insurance!) I also had a sunglass frame so I asked if they could make lenses for those. It will work, so that was nice. They were patient and helpful, and I appreciate that. I will be happy to have Dr. Wells as my optometrist for a long time to come! read more

I've never had a bad experience at this office. The doctors and staff are very friendly, helpful, and I never feel rushed like I do at other doctors' offices on occasion. Love their online appointment system, because I can request an appointment outside of office hours (because let's face it, I never remember until I get home from work myself).
