Had never been to this Kohls before as we used to go to the one that closed in San Luis Obispo. I had ordered some things on line and the shorts for my granddaughter were too small. Since we were going to PR decided to take them back there. Luckily they had her size, so I could exchange. My husband decided to look for jeans, he is "not" a shopper. He tried on 4 pairs and decided on a pair of Lee's. I was just browsing ha, and I found a cute Vera Wang blouse, fit perfect. The store was nice and large, easy to move around in and very clean. A lot of stuff was on sale, and I even had $10 Kohl's cash to spend and now I have another $10. Kaye helped us at checkout, she was so nice and friendly with her Australian accent. Ok I buy a LOT from Kohls. Myself, partner. Adult kids. Grandsons. Lots of clothes and shoes. I came in today to find they closed customer service in the rest of store by restrooms. They added this Ross looking maze at the front of the store with the made in China trash junk on hanging shelves all along the walking maze to cashiers. I really dislike how tacky this looks. The whole feeling or vibe of the store changed to tacky Also I really dislike the Amazon returns people coming in here. You can return at UPS like I do. Quick & easy. But I'll still come here. I'm so happy that Amazon had partnered with Kohls for returns. As an added bonus, for making a return, they always give a coupon for 20 percent off something. Adding Sephora was nice since the nearest Sephora is 30 minutes away. The only thing I do not like is not the returns are in the front shared with those making purchases so the lines can be long. Kohl's is the new Mervyn's, and it has very little place in my life. Mostly, I go often for Amazon returns, which is really their choice. Target, yes. Walmart or Kmart, if need be. Kohl's falls in the "skip it" category, along with JcPenney. Of course, in Paso Robles, these are 2 very key stores of choice, since we don't have a Macy's or the like. What is it good for? An occasional $10-15 t-shirt (when Costco or Target won't do), and shopping for a child or infant. Oddly, Amazon has started using Kohl's for free returns. Unfortunately, you park near the front and have to walk thru the entire store to the back customer service counter. Guess that's planned, a little lookee-loo shopping while you pass thru. I love the store in Paso Robles. Everyone is pleasant. What I absolutley hate is the shipping of my orders. I order fron online. The money is taken out of my account immediatly. It is not posted for 2 days. Example charge for $51.30. ordered August 26. Posted Aug 28. I looked up tracking. Tracking the order, Status says it will be delivered Sat Aug 30 to Sept 5th???? This order is in Santa Clarita on Aug 31. Santa Clarita is 2 hours and 37 minutes from Paso Robles. I the get a message this order will be delivered Septembr 5th. That is beyone stupid. I had to share this! Yesterday, Friday, July 19th, I was in Kohl's to pay my bill & take advantage of one of their great of many marketing sales. I checked out & drove to my next errand, when I realized I didn't have my phone. When I returned to kohls I asked the employees if someone had turned a phone in. & In seconds they radioed a manager & they all started searching with me. A sweet older couple found it in their cart that I'd previously used. But my point is the customer service was above & beyond that day & I had to share that! Not to mention their marketing. If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely ridiculous, zero cashiers but yet tons of staff walking around cleaning and stocking. Waited 20min in line then got to the register for one item then to just walk out without item because they needed to do a price check and was waiting for the price check for 3min. There is only one thing that I always stop at this Kohl's for, and it not for their sales. This Kohl's is located in Paso Robles, almost halfway between the Los Angeles area and the Bay Area. That's right, it is the perfect pit stop for a long drive. Their restrooms are cleaner than any one of the rest stops along I-5 or the 101. There is just so much to do in the Paso Robles area that I like coming here. If memories serves me right, the facilities are located on the left hand side of the store, not the back like most Kohl's. What's not to like about Kohl's? It's clean. It's convenient. One day, I might just use my 30% off coupon or my Kohl's cash here if I end up seeing something I want to buy. read more

One entrance is closed for emergency only so only left side is open. Pretty wiped out from Christmas. Registeres open only on one side. Got some great assics on sale for 49.99. 11000 reviews and 4.5 out of 5. So had to buy them. Everyone was super nice. Great trip. read more

Okay Kohl's I realize the holidays just happened but you have to have more pride in your store & appearance. I generally try to give mostly positive feedback but I feel you may need some honest & constructive feedback nowadays! I love the deals & Kohl's cash but it's getting hard to come INTO the store.... I worked at a well know department store & there were strict clean up procedures throughout your shift & at close- no one went home till it was tidy & each department would help out once done if others weren't. The state of your tables & racks were just unacceptable- honestly don't think there was even one organized, put together display throughout the whole store. I found myself folding & organizing while I looked at clothes lol- my husband said they'll have to put you on payroll soon!! You've got to either hire more people or run a tighter ship so people can find the right sizes, not buy the wrong sizes because they're being hung on the wrong size hangers and fold/organize better too. This kohl's location is great!!! Very good selection of clothes, home decor and helpful staff. Also very COVID friendly; everyone where's mask and they offer hand sanitizers at exits and registers. I cannot believe the incompetence of this store! First, I ordered a soap dispenser for my bathroom online, along with a rug to be shipped to the store. I received an email that my rug was already there so I went to pick it up. It was the wrong size so an employee went to get me the smaller rug but she came back with a more expensive, wrong color and wrong brand rug. Really??? While there, I saw 9 of the exact same soap dispensers sitting on the shelf in store that I had ordered online but they would not let me pick up those since they didn't know how to cancel my ordered one online which wasn't due to arrive for 10 days! Why make a customer wait 10 days if you have 9 sitting on the shelf 5 feet from where they are standing?! So finally I get notified that my soap dispenser had arrived almost 2 weeks later, only to get home and find it broken with a sharp piece of glass in the bag. I was so irritated that I had to go back there and wait in line for now the Fourth time because they are so ridiculously slow and can never answer a question. It always seems a bit sad inside a Kohl's to me. But that does not stop them from having some good stuff. I found a nice tie, and they have some good suit jackets here too. I have bought a few button up shirts that were fun prints and current styles. Nearly eventhing 'feels' on sale, even if it's marked up to be marked down. But in truth I've never spent more than I thought and never thought of anything here as expensive. Bought two purses and a pair of slides here and all three were broken within months. One of the slides' strap came undone within 2 weeks. The glue holding it together wasn't strong enough and both purses' straps broke off within a few months. read more

Lack of enough personnel on the floor at any given time. Further disappointment in the inexperienced personnel manning registers that have made numerous mistakes anytime I have frequented the store. Exceptionally frustrating waiting in lone while register personnel take inordinate amounts of time engaging in conversations with customers. read more

I am sooo disappointed in this particular Kohl's! I have had two pretty bad experiences here but the most frustrating was the past weekend. I was shopping for back to school for my kids. My son found the exact back pack he wanted, we went to pay and I realized I left my debit card at home so I asked if I could put it on hold so I could go home and get my card. They said yes and I watched the lady put the back pack behind the counter. I returned a few hours later and they had lost the back pack it was nowhere to be found they looked at guest services which is where they said it would be , they looked through a huge stack of random crap by the register, i also went through the back packs that were out they had lost it or sold it to someone and it was the last one left. Update! I returned to the Paso Robles Kohls and spoke with the manager Violet who resolved my problem completely. We left satisfied... BUT upon arrival we were greated, or actually completely ignored, by yet another rude employee in customer service. So far the staff is great, with the exception of customer service. They are back there to deal with unsatified customers and resolve problems. I'd urge owner and management to consider restaffing or retraining that department. Thanks! read more

Good location, clean and good selection. Returning can be a hassle. Today was probably one of the worst experiences I have had coming here. A very long line at the returns counter. While waiting in line they allowed a lady to purchase items. She did 3 separate transactions. I thought it was odd that they were allowing this because in the past, unless you are making an exchange, they don't allow you to purchase items. Once it was my turn I had asked if they had changed the policy about being able to make purchases. She told me that normally they don't. They only allow it when there is no one in line. Given my previous experience with Kohl's in Santa Maria, I wondered where the other nearby locations were. Would it be consistent with the one I first went to? And would it be any different but still worthwhile to go to? Thankfully, the answer to both of those questions was yes. The layout of the store is pretty similar (except for the restrooms, which were located on the far left of the store along with customer service) and carries their in-house and national brands. The sales are the same too, though my family and I bought more from this location because there were too many good deals to pass up. However, there were two downsides to shopping at this location. For instance, when I was in the shoes section, I asked if they had any more in the stockroom of a certain shoe in my size in a different color. The salesperson told me something akin to "what you see is what you get." Oh well, I didn't really need the shoes in the first place (I ended up not buying them). So, there are no extras in the back, and if it's not on the shelf or rack, it's most likely sold out. The other downside was the in-store price scanners. I tried scanning the barcodes on the items repeatedly (and sometimes madly). Yes, it does give an accurate price, but you have to scan more than once most of the time. Overall, I'm guessing the layout of the Kohl's stores are pretty much the same...well-lit, separate sections for men, women, kids, shoes, jewelry, and home, and sales. And I like going there because of the consistency and choice. Enough said. read more

The store is always clean. The employees are always nice. Their selection of clothes is okay. Seems like it's a lot of the same kind of stuff. The clothes don't seem to rotate very much. Their sale prices are always good. It's unfortunate they don't take Kohl's cash that are expired and their Kohl's cash has a very short time that it can be used to. I stopped into Kohl's after I got off of work this past Saturday night. I shopped around for a bit, and found some fairly decent gifts for a good price. But my main reason for even writing this review, is because of the cashier I had. I made sure I got his name, it was Nick. Nick absolutely blew me away with his customer service. I have never seen such a young man take a "retail" job so seriously. Needless to say, I was very impressed. Pretty sure all of their original prices are made up since everything is always on sale, but its all good. Wish there was a bit more organization in the store. On Wednesday I had to go to Kohls to get clothes for my son starting new job. I was under a huge amount of stress as he is very tall and the options are limited. By the time I reached check out, I was just wanting to rush and get out. I was then greeted by the kindest and most soft spoken woman as cashier. This sweet lady made the rest of my day.
