I went to the pharmacy with a discount drug coupon for $53.31 from my veteranian to purchase a drug for my kitty. Walgreens, their name was on the coupon, would not honor it. This pharmacy is terribly slow with bad service. I dropped off prescriptions yesterday which I was was told would be ready the following day at 9:00am. I came to pick them up at 12:00pm and they hadn't even started filling them until I got there. I would avoid this pharmacy - they are extremely slow even when it is not busy at all. read more

For just opening the customer service was awful. The attitudes, the way we were spoken to, and the wait time was unacceptable. Four employees behind the counter and 2 customers in line-no one could figure out where our pics were, or how to utilize their time management skills. Im going to give it one more whirl.Sometimes getting into the swing of things takes time. Wow. I just got back from this Walgreen's Pharmacy. First time there and I am absolutely impressed. So incredibly helpful, clear explanation of medication, all process, various saving Rx cards, ... absolutley impressed. James and the lady pharmacist (sorry I forgot her name) made me comfortable with all questions I had, texed me when the prescription was ready ... again, ab-so-lutely impressed. Would recommed to anyone. Oh ... and to top it off, a young man at the regular counter by the front door said "Have a nice day". This is BY FAR the WORST Walgreens I've ever been to. Walked in today needing 4 prescriptions and was told they couldn't help. Insurance issues causing delays and prescriptions " not being clear enough ." When I told the pharmacist that I was completely out of one prescription, she told me there was nothing she could do but she would keep my prescriptions on-file for me. She also told me to call up here to check if my situation had changed. When I explained that I try to and that every time I do, I can NEVER get anyone on the phone. She just replied, " we're very busy." What good are my prescriptions going to do for me on file at a place that I can't call and access them in the first place and second, when this is all supposedly an insurance problem and I'll have to get them through a mail order pharmacy anyway?! I have been going to this Walgreens for several months. I asked the pharmacy to fax over a prior authorization form so that I could pick up my full prescription using my insurance (I had always done this in the past as I can only use my insurance on this medication once a month) The lady at the counter was very nice and said she would do it right away, but that it probably wouldn't be done until the next day. The next day I call to make sure the prior authorization went through so I could fill my whole prescription. They tell me yes, and I go to pick it up just to go home and see they only partially filled it. Now the reason I am writing this review is because of the treatment I received when I called Walgreens, by a woman on the line by the name of "Bary" She had an irritated tone our entire conversation and was frustrated I wouldn't accept a partial refill. I rationally explained to her that my prior authorization never went through, and that I would have never picked it up if I had known that, and I was wondering where I could go from there. She was like a girl in high school with a catty attitude. She said she didn't understand why it mattered and that I could just come back in 21 days. I explained that I could only use my insurance once a month which is why it mattered. She continued to be snarky and sarcastically laugh saying she didn't understand why I couldn't just come back, and that she had nothing to do with the person who told me it would be fully filled before. She even said "well if you were taking your medication as prescribed then it wouldn't matter" WTF?! Of course it matters if it's costing me more money every month when I already pay so much for insurance! She said well too bad we won't refund you , even if everything is unopened. She was very irritated and did not want to help me at all. I understand she personally had nothing to do with the prior authorization form not being faxed by Walgreens , but I was just disappointed I was told they would fill the entire prescription when they couldn't. I also didn't understand why they never sent over the fax and why I got no answers as to what happened. all in all , I have dealt with this before with this particular medication and know it can be confusing for the pharmacists but I have never been treated with such utter distain and contempt as I was with Bary. She made me feel sub human, and I felt that by implying I wasn't taking my medication as prescribed, she tried to justify why she didn't want to help me while simultaneously taking away my integrity. I might be in recovery (the medication I get is commonly used by recovering addicts to stay clean) but that does NOT mean I abuse my meds. I deserve the same customer service that any other customer would get, recovery or not. If she couldn't help me that's one thing, but the huge attitude was completely uncalled for. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the manager was actually helpful and kind and said he would offer a refund that night if everything was unopened with a receipt. He also understood what I was saying about the prior auth and didn't give me an attitude and make me feel like I was dumb. He basically treated me like a human being and was a breathe of fresh air compared to Bary. I'm shaken up over this experience, it's been a long time since I have ever been treated so terribly by a so called professional, and as a pregnant woman in my third trimester, it would have been nice to be treated with a little dignity. I will try to find a new pharmacy even if it means going farther away, because I never want to encounter Bary ever again, it just unfortunate because it's the only Walgreens close to me. read more

I am so happy and excited to have this new Walgreens here. I usually go to the one in Tustin right by my work since they have great deals and pretty much everything you need. I finally stopped at the new one here in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach and was pleasantly surprised. The employees were incredibly friendly and helpful. Woke up in the middle the night went to Walgreens at 3:30 AM looking for nasal spray for my allergies. Notice the price was 13.99 when I got to the register she want to charge me $22. First and foremost it was the horrible attitude I was greeted with at the register. Since I've been a long time homeowner of 20 years in Costa Mesa I will never spend another dollar into Walgreens. Rite aid is right down the street with a lot better personality working for the company. Something is wrong at the store if you go in and look at the date on the milk there very close to expiration. They might not be doing as well they should be. Maybe they should look at customer support first. I won't go into detail of how she acted or what she did to make me never come back again. But if I was the storeowner and spent all the money that I did to buy Blockbuster building to have this type of customer service would not be acceptable. read more

This pharmacy has really gone downhill lately. Most of the people working here have no training and don't know anything about their products or policies. It took me 40 minutes to return an item. I was the only customer in the store and I had the receipt with me. It takes them forever to pick up the phone too. I was on hold for 11 minutes at 10:30 on a Sunday night! They really need to hire more pharmacists and train the rest of the staff correctly!!! read more

This Walgreens has fabulous customer service! I called searching hot a shower chair for my elderly parents. Chelsea was willing to see if there ones in stock and check the price for me. Not only that, she suggested holding it for me and made sure I had a Walgreens number to get the extra discount. I was unable to get there until the next day. It was still being held for me. The asst manager helped find the coupon and the cashier was kind and told me not to apologize for any hassle - they are there to help!
