These types of stores are needed in a world filled with single use plastics and a terrible recycling system. Im a big fan! Found some dishwasher tablets that work really well. This time around, I got some laundry detergent that is a great deal. Sheesh! Ive been spending a lot of money on diluted detergent. This one is 1 tbsp of use, good for 1 full load. Yoooo I picked up enough detergent for the rest of this year and possibly into 2027 as well. They have a recycling program which I may clean up on some labels and provide to them as well. Theyre just sitting in storage waiting for some use. I am appreciative of this shop! I always refilled the same items every few months since then, in the same bottles I've used since my very first refill - I even put a label on the bottle to make it easier to weigh my quantity. This little shop is packed with so many useful things! They offer items that would make great gifts for the eco-minded, practical friend and they have many options for refillable household solutions and soaps. We picked out a bar soap that smelled very pleasantly citrus but also very mild. I thought the pricing (per oz) was affordable even compared to soap sold by big box stores. The shopkeepers were so friendly and welcoming. The glass bottles they sold for hand pump soap are like the refillable ones used in hotels and can add a classy touch to your bathroom. read more

Small little shop but they offer so many different products. I highly appreciate that they also provide a description of one as well. You can bring your own empty containers to fill them up. I went in to check on some product, and everything is in glass jars, I pick up the first jar it's slippery because there is lotion around the glass slips out of my hand and breaks, I say sorry and try to clean the mess but the employees were so rude about it. I went to each out to the owner and he told me "we don't need your business anyways" wouldn't recommend anything here if you do go don't pick anything up. read more

I LOVE THIS STORE!!! the workers are always so nice i totally forgot to get his name yesterday but he was so helpful with getting me the right zero-waste face moisterizer. I love the idea of this store as well, i think it's our opportunity to do our part in helping the environmental against factory farming, the cement industry, climate change, etc. I will for sure be back very soon!!! The employee Andy was very helpful in helping me choose the right moisturizer for my face (I have sensory issues on my face and don't like the feeling of most creams). They pulled a couple of their products off the shelves so I could try them out - so nice! She is very knowledgeable over what seems to be like their entire inventory. I also picked up an all natural agave body loofah, also recommended to me by this employee. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience in the store, I got to smell nice products and have a pleasant chitchat with the employees. Droppin' this review of Eco Now in honor of it being Earth Weekend! This was my first time visiting Eco Now at the LAB in Costa Mesa. They specialize in sustainable goods and offer a wide variety of your favorite every day household and beauty items! You'll find lotions, skincare, cleaning supplies, shampoo/conditioner, razors, reusable lunch bags and towels, etc. While the store is on the smaller side, it's super easy to get lost in all the intricate goodies. They have several other stores across Orange County with much larger selections, including Anaheim and Laguna. I ended up taking home a coffee grind face exfoliant and matcha body scrub. The coffee grind was an instant hit! My face has never been softer. The matcha left me smelling absolutely delicious. I think I may need to buy it in bulk. ~~~~~~~~~ SAGA UPDATE: The tabs did not dry out or become stale. I did lose about half the jar on one fateful occasion when I couldn't get the lid open again and half the tabs in the jar went flying. The owner and I were able to communicate more on the odd issue and she did give store credit in the amount of the product. So yesterday I went in to use that up, and was helped by Miranda. They have the sweetest and most helpful staff here, honestly. I bought a glass jar and the toothpastes tabs you can buy per ounce. Miranda was so helpful during the process, bc first we had to weigh out the tabs, and then I put them in the jar one by one. It actually went by pretty fast, but the current feels is that I'm investing a lot of time and energy to 'simplify' my life, and it's not really seeming simplified. But I'm trying to work with a store credit and what I'm assuming is a container defect. Anywhooo ~ I also bought a wax pencil, ended up choosing 2 ounces of the Hüppy tabs, and now I'll see how long it lasts me. The updated stars are because of the staff's helpfulness and the owners willingness to rectify a really wonky situation. I'm sure it's something we've all learned from. All in all, I do like my glass jar and I am a fan of the Hüppy tabs, so I'm quite satisfied with my dental care. That cursed jar tho....it's finally empty so I washed it and then went to put the lid on this morning and it comes on and off like a normal container...I don't understand what's happening but if you buy the Hüppy prepackaged and have an issue with the jar lid, I can now recommend setting the tabs aside, washing the jar, and then replacing the tabs. Eco Now is a gem in the LAB, I have been getting my Plant Paper and switched to their Rosemary Mint Vanilla shampoo and conditioner and my hair has never felt better for my curly hair! I used to use their Olive and Black Seed shampoo back in 2020 but the Rosemary Mint one was the perfect fit for my scalp. I love that you can buy ounces to try product and then switch over to try others when you're out. Cozily located in the Lab, Eco Now jam packs an assortment of eco friendly goodies from reusable bags, biodegradable toothbrushes, a refillable station and some random items like the Tru Earth detergent strips to accompany my Scrubba washing bag when camping or traveling. The store is small, and during COVID they're only allowing a handful of people at a time but it's worth the stop if you're in OC and trying to be more earth friend, minimize your waste, or like me and just want to be more self-sustainable. For being so small, the items are beautifully arranged and well organized. Every nook and cranny is being used perfectly to display their goods. What an awesome store! I go to the brewery next door and have always been curious about this store. I finally visited a couple weeks ago and it was great. You can either buy their reusable bottles or bring your own! I wish I would've known that prior to visiting. I ended up having to buy their bottles since I thought that was the only option. There's lots of hand and body soaps and lotions. You can also find toothpaste capsules, stasher bags, candles, and similar household items. The staff was super friendly and helped me pump some of my bottles while I kept shopping around. Keep in mind that if you come on a weekend, parking can be frustrating. It's located in the lab and you're better off finding street parking than in the lot. The store is also tiny. If there's more than 8 people then it gets pretty difficult to maneuver. read more

By no means do I live a zero-waste lifestyle, but I can appreciate doing my part to treat our environment kindly. Came here with good friends over the weekend and enjoyed browsing their selection of zero-waste products. They have a wide array of local, bulk, handmade, vegan, plastic-free, reusable goods for home & body care. I picked up some Eucalyptus shower steamers and reusable aluminum straws. The shower steamers are $2 a pop and lasts 1-2 showers, depending on how long you shower. And it made my shower smell like a spa! I enjoyed learning the little ways that I can reduce my carbon footprint when I was at Eco Now. Will be back for sure :) read more

I found this place by chance when I was exploring The Lab plaza. It was a store, like the name, practices ways to be eco friendly by reducing wastes and plastic use. You can take empty containers or jars and fill it to however much you want of what they have. They have all sorts of everyday use items such as laundry detergent, lotion, cleanser, dental products, shampoo, etc... I am going back on Thursday to purchase my first item, micellar water, and I plan on bringing an empty container. Overall it is suppose to help reduce plastic by reusing containers and saving money. ECO NOW: WHERE LOYAL CUSTOMERS, like me go to get RIPPED OFF. This was my favorite refill station, but not anymore. They're overpriced: 1 Castile bar of soap is $6 here, but at Target, it's $4. They removed their bulk item discount and replaced it with a "loyalty program" that's useless, because of all stipulations that keeps you from redeeming your points. This evening, I paid $30 on 2 items, laundry and dishwasher detergent when I normally would've paid $15. "Why $30?", I asked the cashier. "They replaced the bulk discounts with the loyalty program, but you can't use your points on these items l, the cashier said. "That's way too much, I have to put some back...", I replied. "We'll, you can't do that either.", she said. I left feeling completely ripped off. There's no reason to shop here anymore. Not when Amazon charges 19¢ and 21¢ per oz, and Eco Now charges 30¢ and 40¢ per oz for the exact same thing. And especially not after inflation has kicked everyone in the @ss. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing the store owner seems to care about is ripping people off, NOT the environment. Screw this place. read more
