We panicked bc not only did we have to deal with saving as much food as we could but we had to find a showroom open on Sundays to start our search. Not many are! We walked into Universal Appliance and noticed how beautiful and expansive their showroom was. Diane Dao greeted us, and gave us a few moments to walk around and explore. Our refrigerator was about 20 years old and these new models had so many features to look at. Diane helped us narrow it down to 2 models, gave us so many details on both, and priced everything out. We went home to discuss and we placed the order within 2 days. We decided on the Subzero with French Doors. She coordinated the home service to come measure and assess installation; she gave us the date of delivery. Everything went so smooth. A new subzero certainly is a large unexpected expense but we love our new refrigerator. Here's the bonus: a month later I receive an email from Diane telling us about a $1000 rebate which we qualified for. She had attached all the necessary receipts to make it so easy. I don't think you can beat this level of customer service. So glad we stopped in that day!

We picked the Speed Queen TR7 because of the features - and selected the Howard's folks to do the delivery & installation. It was in stock and set up for the NEXT DAY. Really? Fantastic. The install team was there exactly when they said they'd be there. In fact they were early - and it was raining! They hustled the old unit out, waited while we cleaned up the dust bunnies, and then got the unit set up, tested, balanced and running in a flash. I hoped to do better than the Frigidaire repair process, which was a flat rate $335 per machine. I called and scheduled the appointment. I was told there was some static on the line. I didn't hear any but they asked me to text my address, name and issue. I assume to save them some trouble of taking notes or keeping things straight. The quoted in home consult was $65. I wasn't home, so my wife met the man and was told $115. She paid it. I requested the $50 refund which they provided. The quoted price to repair was $1100. I could start a business tomorrow doing home consults and quote astronomical prices for a repair, then do nothing due to high prices and keep the $65 across many homes to make $. I get charging a fee to cover time. But an $1100 repair for $250-300 worth of main board parts ( what was used to repair them) is a bit much and more expensive than Frigidaire charges. I investigated the parts used to fix it at online retailers. They need to quote more realistic prices. I ended up paying them $65 and paying Frigidaire for the repair. I would not call them again based on their business practices. Maybe they can handle simple repairs more easily and perhaps they charge more reasonable prices for those. I am not sure.
