With 254 warehouse-format stores across the country, and 11 stores within a 50 mile radius of DTLB, Floor & Decor is the major retail player for specialty flooring in our area. This location in Santa Ana was the most convenient for us to meet our family friends from Laguna Woods, to do initial window shopping for kitchen flooring. Because it is a large warehouse set-up, there is a large area to explore with a variety of different options for flooring and tile. All of the supply is near the displays, allowing customers (both consumers and contractors) to pick out samples to bring back for testing. Manufacturers have gotten good by barcoding every piece, allowing easy scanning of samples. We ended up taking quite a few home, being pleasantly surprised that if you are a Pro Reward member, you don't have to be charged upfront to bring the samples home (just have to return it if not using). It is set-up as if you know what you are doing...no salespeople to answer any questions unless you explicitly try to find one. Pricing is clearly marked, and I did notice that it seems like everything is uniformly priced per square foot (whereas before, it seemed like certain tiles were priced per piece). The consistency does make comparison shopping a bit easier. read more

I buy from here all the time. Last night, I placed an on line order and by mistake some items were in the cart from a previous session and got paid for. My bad, I didnt take the extra time to scroll down to review what items were in the cart before checking out. After realizing it, I did not see a way to edit the order on line. This morning, I went to pick up the order but to remove those unwanted items (and get a refund for them) I went to the cashier. There were very few if any people in line at the checkout registers. This is a key point. Here is where I am very disappointed in the way Rosa handled things. Disappointed emough to take 10 minutes to post this experience. She went into her register to adjust my on line order. At this point, NOBODY WAS IN LINE BEHIND ME. Rosa asked me my phone number to identify the order. I began searching my order history on my phone which pulled up immediately but didnt show what phone number was used. I have two accounts on F&D and I was trying to make sure I gave Rosa the right phone number. I was probably 10 seconds on my phone AND ONE GUY JUST GOT IN LINE BEHIND ME. I already had the order pulled up on my phone. Before I could offer an order number to Rosa, or maybe Rosa could have offered to help me, Rosa immediately said to me "Let me help this next customer first." I am all for helping keep the line moving but I was literally ready to tell Rosa my order number! I stepped aside and let Rosa the other guy. The other guy dis not have his correct phone numbet either in Rosa's system! She asked him patiently and I waited AT LEAST 5 MINUTES WHILE ROSA WAITED PATIENTLY FOR THE GUY WHO WAS BEHIND ME TO REMEMBER HIS PHONE NUMBER!!! I waited so long I had no choice but to speak up and ask Rosa if she can "finish helping me". You remember me Rosa? The guy whom you were helping before that guy got in line BEHIND ME? Twice, I politely asked if I can be helped while the guy who was BEHIND ME obvioisly needed more time to find his account. Rosa ignored me twice. When I finally asked a little louder that I needed to get going, Rosa told me "Just wait a second." The guy finally could not find his account and Rosa payiently directed him to another department AND she called that dept to let them know she is "sending him over". Then Rosa got to helping me! I was done in literally 30 seconds!! THAT IS THE IRONY OF WHY ROSA SCREWED UP TRYING TO HELP ANOTHER CUSTOMET BEHIND ME WHEN I WAS 30 SECONDS FROM BEING DONE!! AND BY HELPING THE NEXT GUY FIRST, ROSA ACTUALLY DELAYED ME 5-8 MINUTES FROM DOING MY JOB. Does this sound fair to you? I consider tuis a bad judgment call on Rosa's part. read more

Genuinely the worst customer service we've ever received. We went in excited to buy flooring for our new home and spent thousands of dollars. We were rushed through the whole process and received horrible customer service from both Alberto and Sadie. Alberto spoke down to us when we asked a simple question and Sadie rolled her eyes multiple times while checking us out because we wanted to double check if we could pick up at their store rather than a far away store if we changed the pick up date. They acted as if doing their jobs was a complete inconvenience and genuinely should be written up by upper management for such poor customer service. I've never left a negative review in my life and worked in customer service myself at times. Absolutely horrible. read more

The good: My realtor took me here to pick out tiles for all 3 of my bathroom renovations. I was able to find many options here and it was very easy to navigate the store. Everything was well organized. There was plenty of parking. I ended up with grey porcelain tiles and a brown penny tile for the interest/accent wall in the shower. I enjoyed their displays and my ability to use their online inventory tracker to find out if they had enough of the tile I wanted. I was able to reserve my purchase this way and just pickup at their pickup counter upon arrival. The bad: I wanted a specific style of backsplash that they didn't have. They didn't have many terrazzo options either. They didn't have a lot of luxury vinyl floor options. The interesting: They also sell bathroom sinks and wood floors. read more

She went out of her way to help me procure enough of the tile I had selected for a bathroom remodel. The tile was discontinued, but I was not aware of this. Was able to locate the desired tile at the Lafayette, La. store. My experience in selecting and discussing ideas was much easier due to her knowledge and understanding of the products available. I would also like to recognize the professional service I received at both the Lafayette store and the Metairie store when I picked up my orders at the Pro service department. The gentlemen working there were very helpful and courteous. The warehouse was very organized and clean. In general, I highly recommend based on my experience. I went to floor and decor in Santa Ana and mission viejo to select tiles for my bathroom recanting project. They have a nice selection. A floor and decor employee referred me to installation made easy and royalty flooring. They came out and gave me a quote. I revived a quote but they did not tell me what to. Uy and how much of it I needed. They just gave me an address for their show room. I went online and found out that they do not have the appropriate license to do the work. I am shocked that a retailer such as floor and decor would refer unqualified contractors to their customers it's as if they don't care about us. Let this be a warning to all home renovators to make sure the contractors you are looking to work with have an appropriate license. I placed an order online and put myself down as the auhtorized person to pick it up. Now it's the day of the project and I want to send my wife to pick up our order (we're married, it's our house, it's OUR order) and I either have to pick it up myself or I need to cancel my order and re-place it with her set as authorized to pick it up. They say this is a fraud prevention issue but to me it's a huge hassle. Their selection is great, and their website makes it easy to figure out which locations have stock of what you need. We also have bought several trim pieces from Floor and Decor, and have been very happy with their product quality and pricing.
