Elegant has done a few projects for our parents, and were recommended when it was time for us to do a remodel at our house. We have a 1950s home that was very segmented and wanted to move to an open concept as our family has grown. This included knocking out a wall, adding a reinforced header, and complete makeover of the kitchen, dining, and living areas. We reached out to Gilbert who was very responsive, and he brought his team of Tim and Hanna to our house to review that same week. Within a week from there we had a working quote and scope. We started pretty quickly after that. The negotiation/contracting process was smooth. They're very accommodating and definitely know what they're doing. We had a couple wish list items we couldn't quite afford, and they came up with some great and more cost effective solutions to get the end result we wanted without breaking the bank. The main points you should take away from our experience: - They are incredibly responsive. Text, Call, doesn't matter. They always got back to us within an hour and often times instantly. With a big project like this they always gave us peace of mind. - They move quick. If you get them what they need and stay out of their way, these guys fly. They quoted us 8 weeks and were done in about 4.5 weeks. This was incredible as we had to move out for the remodel, so us and our 3 kids (all under 5) were ready to be home! - They came in right on budget. The estimate was solid from the jump. In comparison to other options their pricing is slightly higher but certainly fair. I'd rather have that than an underquoted project with a ton of change orders. - The whole team is incredibly nice, great customer service. Shoutout to Hanna in particular who went out of his way to fix little odds and ends and make recommendations about things we should fix in our ageing home while we were doing the remodel. Some, he took the liberty of fixing himself and they didn't nickel and dime us on small things. Hanna truly cares about making things safe and long lasting, we felt he treated our home as his own. - We had a couple minor things to clean up after the fact. A lot of companies will simply move on once they've been paid. Elegant came back right away and fixed the minor stuff no questions asked. (I have a tough schedule) Was very friendly with my wife and son during the estimate. Received the quote within a few days. Hammered away at some details before signing the contract. Wes then met with my wife and I on a weekend at their show room to go over some materials. They were able to start within a week. Thats when I met Hanna who is very skilled and a very nice guy. Tim helped me with material selection and scope, Anwar was great with coordination, and payments to Emmy were nice and simple over Zelle. I met with 7 different contractors for a primary bathroom remodel and whole home (3,500 sq. ft.) flooring replacement and painting project before selecting EKB. As soon as I met with Wes EKB went to the top of my list because he had such a great idea for the bathroom cabinet layout. EKBs pricing was competitive and fell in the high mid range of the quotes I received. Wes was very positive and a great communicator. I was also impressed with EKBs show room, making selections for flooring, tile and cabinets a little easier. Once I chose EKB Hana was assigned as my project manager. I have been through a few kitchen and bathroom remodel projects for my own home and rental properties and I have never experienced the peace I felt having Hana in charge of the job. Hana patiently answered all my questions, made sure everything was done correctly, kept the job running smoothly and helped advise me on other projects going on with the house that weren't related to the work that EKB was doing. Even after the job was done Hana advised me on where to buy wood blinds. Hana is a superstar! Every contractor that EKB brought in my home for this project was pleasant, polite and respectful. My only regret is that I didn't use EKB for the electrical part of the job.
