The majority of my order arrived in great condition but a few items were damaged/defective. I followed the claim process (notify with photo, description and model numbers) within 3 days and it's been 2.5 weeks with no identified resolution. The customer service representative, Nomsa, is pleasant but seemingly clueless. My email exchange with her is up to 12. I've asked for tracking for my replacement product (she sends original tracking), she asks for photos of the damaged goods (I sent that in my initial claim email), I ask for a label to return damaged goods (she says she doesn't know if they need to be returned....um okay?! I guess I'll indefinitely store them?!). The latest, she directs me "Please see the below link". The link is an email address to Fedex, nothing else. What am I supposed to do with that? Sigh..... Product is good but there must be other places that will require less of your time and cause fewer headaches. read more

NYH has a great inventory that is easily accessible to homeowners like me. Their delivery is quick and they often offer homeowners the standard designer discount of 10%. Their online return process needs some fine tuning. But it's great that they have a knowledgeable and friendly customer support team available to helped. I especially want to commend Marvin Reyes who made the return process easy for me! I will definitely go to NYH for all my future hardware needs! read more

Updating review to 3*: Shortly after the review New York Hardware reached out and sent out a 36" handle to replace the one that was missing. I appreciate the gesture and now my order is complete, I just wish there was clearer communication and timely replies. It felt as I only got resolution once I posted on Yelp, hopefully this isn't the norm. read more

i'm not only called to find out if the store had what I needed but Jennifer, who is amazing. I'm assuming she's the owner that's how much pride she took and what she was doing. Went to check for me. The size the style and put them on hold for me to the side came in and she was justa breath of fresh air helping me. I pass this place 1 million times and finally stopped in. it's got everything you need for your home in regards to doors fixtures read more

My mother has been shopping here for years so I was excited to shop here for my current remodel. My mom and I walked in and had zero acknowledgment from the four employees working there. My mom even asked one employee, Ashley, for help because she had helped her the day before. Ashley replied she's leaving in 10 minutes so couldn't help and the other woman working said she was doing paperwork and could maybe help after. Neither woman helped as we waited there for 20 minutes. We picked out some handles and pulls to buy and decided to forget asking for help on the front door entry set and just buy the items. There was one other woman checking someone else out for the entire 20 minutes and couldn't get anyone else to check us out. We eventually put the items back and left the store. HORRIBLE customer service. Beware. read more

Service is horrendous. Should have read all the 1 star reviews bc theyre all true. Dont waste your money here, especially if youre remodeling. Stopped by their store bc theyre an Emtek distributor. Asked the front cashier if I could buy pulls they had displayed and she said it's best to place an order online. Originally wanted to order from Ganahl but their wait time was 2 weeks so I just decided to order from here. Pulls arrived within 5 days of ordering, which was fantastic but I changed my mind on a few pulls so I reached out and what a joke. Their website states "highly rated customer service", which is probably self proclaimed bc it's trash. Chatted with cs online and asked to exchange a few pulls. Was told to purchase the ones I want and they would follow up with the return. It has been almost a month and nothing. Called in and was told to send an email. Sent several and no response. Ordered over a thousand dollars in pulls and cant even get reasonable customer service. Regret 100%. Should have given my business to Ganahl. read more

Ordered online on 6/10. Received order on 6/18. ordering, shipping, and product was fine. No issues there. Return Policy issue - Per their return policy, I requested a RMA on 7/15. They responded the order was placed outside the return window. I reviewed their return policy again and confirmed it states 30 days since purchase. In my experience and common business practice is a purchase is not complete until received. It appears they are applying an unusual stance. It would be more appropriate to state or clarify the return window begins when the order is placed. In my case, 8 days of the return window was eaten up with shipping according to their position. read more

In search of quality hardware for my newly renovated kitchen. With all the thought that went in to everything else I needed to make sure I didn't skimp on quality it style. NYH came highly recommended and I also seem the store featured on tv. I decided to look online snd I found exactly what I was looking for. I ordered pulls for the kitchen they arrived with in 3 days. Hardware arrived individually packaged in 2 shipments. I was more than satisfied with the pulls they are detailed and have a good weight to them they look and feel expensive for me that's a good thing with all the planning and detail I don't want my beautiful hardware to be confused with cheap packs for the local hardware store. I have already received compliments on them and many comments on how nice and sturdy they feel. I highly recommend visiting the store or even shopping online I'm very pleased with my purchase read more

Excellent service and customer friendly approach, I would recommend both Jennifer and Ashley for their particularly superb service

Zero customer service. Employee saw me walk in, ignored me and engaged in a personal conversation with another employee behind the counter. Walked right by them and absolutely no acknowledgement. read more

Tons of different knobs and handles for any type Of home renovations. The number of vendors and the choices are limited. A bit pricier than other places and typically orders are shipped in 2 weeks. read more

So there i was working on a French door handle that was not working due to a tiny broken internal part. No way i could purchase this part. Option 1.. replace both handles an a cost of over $1000... Option 2.. Try a make it with all the stuff in my junk drawer. Option 3.. Try New York Hardware to see if the could help. I met Eric Billington, I was told he's got parts and may be able to help. Eric looked at the handle and went back to the parts box he's probably been collecting for years. We modified a part and it worked better than the original design !! Eric Was a Genius!! Thank you so much buddy!! read more

What a fabulous place! For years I've wanted to go check this store out and I finally had the opportunity looking for hardware for a new buffet and china cabinet. What a selection I was overwhelmed, but the people who work there are so helpful, knowedgeable and just plain nice! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for something simple or extravagent. It's awesome! read more

Ashley was very helpful and professional. The whole experience from the second we stepped in to getting the quote to change our hardware was so amazing. We are really happy we found this store as it has a great selection of all types of hardware at a good price with great service read more

Great customer service! I needed house numbers and was feeling the size was puny. The lady at the counter asked how the house was situated: up from the road but only 20' from the sidewalk. She agreed a bit larger would be better. She found numbers which were perfect and just a few dollars more. So happy with the service! read more

I would not recommend purchasing from New York hardware. Go to build.com, Ferguson, or other reputable online vendors that will take returns. I bought hardware for thousands of dollars and I had 2 brand new handles (still in the box) that didn't work with my style. They charged me a 25% restocking fee as well shipping. Working with a store where returns and exchanges are prohibitive doesn't work for people who are going through a renovation where there will be design unknowns. I'm very disappointed and I would caution anyone who is considering working with New York hardware. There are many other vendors with better return policies. Also, there are many, actually almost every other vendor has better customer service than this place. read more

It's been about 7 yrs. Ago that I purchased all the hardware from New York Hardware but my experience with the entire staff was wonderful. I'm an Interior designer, currently retired, but have had businesses in Chicago & Northern California before moving to Newport several years ago. The selections at NYH rivaled that of any major City I've worked in and the quality of the service, expertise & selections were the best. read more

I've been involved in the renovation and refurbishment of historic buildings for several decades. Discovering New York Hardware, I felt like a kid in a candy store. They have the best selection of custom, vintage and historic fixtures I've ever seen. Jennifer and the team are very knowledgeable and accommodated some tricky international shipping arrangements for me. For unique fixtures for custom or historic work, I can't recommend New York Hardware more highly. read more

New York Hardware - Michelle - Hardware Stores Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

If you are looking for anything unusual and spectacular, this is the place to go. They have a huge variety. The people are friendly and always acknowledge you when you walk in the door. They are available for questions and are eager to help. Draw back, not open on weekends anymore. But the store to completely worth it. Check it out and compare, their unique findings to that of the dull hardware everywhere else. Unless, you like the unoriginal, than stay with Home Depot. D read more

I looked at several online hardware sites as well as a local place. All had a fairly large selection but the sales staff came up short when you had questions or needed advice. I dealt with Chris Sanchez at New York Hardware and he knew his inventory and had the necessary product knowledge to offer several suggestions. He was also instrumental in helping nail down a choice that was perfect. Thanks Chris!!! read more

New York Hardware - Hardware Stores Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

I love this hardware store. It's so fun to look at the large selection they have of unique hardware for your home. They are not located near my home but I love the customer service and selection so Its worth the drive to Costa Mesa. I recently needed new numbers for my home address and Thomas and Ashley were very friendly and helpful and I found exactly what I needed. I highly recommend this hardware store, just like their tag line says , "very fancy hardware" makes it worth the visit and you can always find what you need here. read more

Was referred here for many high quality choices. Our experience was that rep who assisted was less than interested in follow up and detail required of a business who SHOULD specialize in exactly that, excuse was VERY BUSY!! Hardware took forever as a special order and was not communicated that we had to go back to the store for pick up. Major hassle and pain considering high prices charged. read more

Stay away!! Seriously. They do have a beautiful inventory but their customer care and return policy is insanely bad. I was yelled at (yes, screamed at) by the clerk because I wanted to exchange one knob and buy 10 more. It was unopened. Totally short sided. And they have a no return or exchange policy. None. I have found that Moultrops (may not be spelling that right) by the post office off Riverside and PCH is a much better choice (and they are nice). read more

Bottom line: this place carries pulls and knobs that no one else around has. If you are looking for a specialty type knob or pull look no further - they'll carry them here. Sure, the price might be a bit high. And yes, their hours make it hard to get there while juggling work. And their parking situation is just downright bizarre - but their selection is unlike any other around. I had to special order mine, they called me when they came in, and they came in in about 3 days - the exact time I was told when I ordered them. I highly recommend checking out this store if you are looking for an item out of the norm. read more

Poor help, rude sales staff! Shocking for a small business. I went into this store with handles from a vintage cabinet I purchased. I was trying to find updated handles for the cabinet at this store. When I walked in, I was not greeted but walked to the counter where two girls were standing. I asked if they could help me find something to update the handles I showed them. Their response was, "no".... Really? Nothing in your store of handles and knobs ? Guess your business is so good you don't need to sell knobs to people who come into your store .... Right? I left and went to True Value Hardware...guess what? I found customer service and new knobs! read more

This place is a joke, the blonde girl with glasses had the worst attitude and did not even wanna consider helping me with some simple closet door knobs Trust me don't go here,I had a $1,000 budget for 6 door knobs and she didn't even want to help me figure out a solution, the owner needs to re think who he hires. read more

Good selection but poor customer service. Their best employees are unhelpful and the worst are straight up rude. There is an upside to that, however. It's a great place to go see stuff in person. Then you can go home, order online for less, and not feel guilty about not giving them your business. read more

As a door and cabinet hardware designer, I get to travel and check out many different showrooms. I have to say, that this place has it going on. The wealth of knowledge that the staff has here is truly a treasure. It is obvious that they have been in the business for a long time. The showroom itself is very creative, as they use cool antique/vintage doors as part of their displays. They pay attention to detail and all the parts are labeled, etc, making it easy to order parts from them.. They have a huge variety of products and brands, probably one of the largest selections in Southern California. This is definitely a place worth going to if you are renovating your home and need cabinet hardware. It is even better if you are looking for something unique. read more

I can't imagine where else would have this large of a selection! Hard to get a hold of them when in store or on the phone, but once you do the selection can't be beat. Extremely deep and beautiful inventory and wonderful service from Eric. Used the store several times during the remodel and will return for sure when hardware is needed. Easy to find and conveniently located. read more

This is a place to get decorative hardware and they have a nicely supplied showroom. But like many have posted before the customer service is so bad that I decided to not be one of their patrons. It seems that no one is happy there and they are very rude. The older woman seems to be the manager and is very dismissive and cold. The younger female and male are busy speaking about clients and their social life. While I was looking around at all of their hardware I finally asked about their time frames and policies. Come to find that their time frames are very long and for the price it seems you're paying full retail or more. They're return policy seems like a final sale without the price break. The only thing New York about this place is the old building structure, small parking, and the over the top prices. Use them if you have to, but go online and get better deals, quicker time frames, and a return policy. Oh, and the business, Normandy Metal Refinishers-Metal Restoration Antiques, that shares the same building seems like an nice place and the older woman behind the counter was very nice and informative. read more

SO many great options here! We went to get handles for our refrigerator, and they were very helpful in showing us our options and deciding on which ones we should get.
