My mother has been shopping here for years so I was excited to shop here for my current remodel. My mom and I walked in and had zero acknowledgment from the four employees working there. My mom even asked one employee, Ashley, for help because she had helped her the day before. Ashley replied she's leaving in 10 minutes so couldn't help and the other woman working said she was doing paperwork and could maybe help after. Neither woman helped as we waited there for 20 minutes. We picked out some handles and pulls to buy and decided to forget asking for help on the front door entry set and just buy the items. There was one other woman checking someone else out for the entire 20 minutes and couldn't get anyone else to check us out. We eventually put the items back and left the store. Asked the front cashier if I could buy pulls they had displayed and she said it's best to place an order online. Originally wanted to order from Ganahl but their wait time was 2 weeks so I just decided to order from here. Pulls arrived within 5 days of ordering, which was fantastic but I changed my mind on a few pulls so I reached out and what a joke. Their website states "highly rated customer service", which is probably self proclaimed bc it's trash. Chatted with cs online and asked to exchange a few pulls. Was told to purchase the ones I want and they would follow up with the return. It has been almost a month and nothing. Called in and was told to send an email. Sent several and no response. Ordered over a thousand dollars in pulls and cant even get reasonable customer service. Regret 100%. Should have given my business to Ganahl. read more

Ordered online on 6/10. Received order on 6/18. ordering, shipping, and product was fine. No issues there. Return Policy issue - Per their return policy, I requested a RMA on 7/15. They responded the order was placed outside the return window. I reviewed their return policy again and confirmed it states 30 days since purchase. In my experience and common business practice is a purchase is not complete until received. It appears they are applying an unusual stance. It would be more appropriate to state or clarify the return window begins when the order is placed. In my case, 8 days of the return window was eaten up with shipping according to their position. read more

So there i was working on a French door handle that was not working due to a tiny broken internal part. No way i could purchase this part. Option 1.. replace both handles an a cost of over $1000... Option 2.. Try a make it with all the stuff in my junk drawer. Option 3.. Try New York Hardware to see if the could help. I met Eric Billington, I was told he's got parts and may be able to help. Eric looked at the handle and went back to the parts box he's probably been collecting for years. We modified a part and it worked better than the original design !! Eric Was a Genius!! NYH came highly recommended and I also seem the store featured on tv. I decided to look online snd I found exactly what I was looking for. I ordered pulls for the kitchen they arrived with in 3 days. Hardware arrived individually packaged in 2 shipments. I was more than satisfied with the pulls they are detailed and have a good weight to them they look and feel expensive for me that's a good thing with all the planning and detail I don't want my beautiful hardware to be confused with cheap packs for the local hardware store. I would not recommend purchasing from New York hardware. Go to build.com, Ferguson, or other reputable online vendors that will take returns. I bought hardware for thousands of dollars and I had 2 brand new handles (still in the box) that didn't work with my style. They charged me a 25% restocking fee as well shipping. Working with a store where returns and exchanges are prohibitive doesn't work for people who are going through a renovation where there will be design unknowns. I'm very disappointed and I would caution anyone who is considering working with New York hardware. There are many other vendors with better return policies. Also, there are many, actually almost every other vendor has better customer service than this place. read more

Our experience was that rep who assisted was less than interested in follow up and detail required of a business who SHOULD specialize in exactly that, excuse was VERY BUSY!! SO many great options here! We went to get handles for our refrigerator, and they were very helpful in showing us our options and deciding on which ones we should get. Stay away!! Seriously. They do have a beautiful inventory but their customer care and return policy is insanely bad. I was yelled at (yes, screamed at) by the clerk because I wanted to exchange one knob and buy 10 more. It was unopened. Totally short sided. And they have a no return or exchange policy. None. Poor help, rude sales staff! Shocking for a small business. I went into this store with handles from a vintage cabinet I purchased. I was trying to find updated handles for the cabinet at this store. When I walked in, I was not greeted but walked to the counter where two girls were standing. I asked if they could help me find something to update the handles I showed them. Their response was, "no".... Really? Nothing in your store of handles and knobs ? Guess your business is so good you don't need to sell knobs to people who come into your store .... Right? The wealth of knowledge that the staff has here is truly a treasure. It is obvious that they have been in the business for a long time. The showroom itself is very creative, as they use cool antique/vintage doors as part of their displays. They pay attention to detail and all the parts are labeled, etc, making it easy to order parts from them.. They have a huge variety of products and brands, probably one of the largest selections in Southern California. Thank goodness the sweetest assistant came to my rescue (I think she could tell this was my 1st time big project), she not only found the right style/colored handles but was able to save me money with her recommendations. This is a place to get decorative hardware and they have a nicely supplied showroom. But like many have posted before the customer service is so bad that I decided to not be one of their patrons. It seems that no one is happy there and they are very rude. The older woman seems to be the manager and is very dismissive and cold. The younger female and male are busy speaking about clients and their social life. While I was looking around at all of their hardware I finally asked about their time frames and policies. Come to find that their time frames are very long and for the price it seems you're paying full retail or more. They're return policy seems like a final sale without the price break. The only thing New York about this place is the old building structure, small parking, and the over the top prices. Use them if you have to, but go online and get better deals, quicker time frames, and a return policy. Oh, and the business, Normandy Metal Refinishers-Metal Restoration Antiques, that shares the same building seems like an nice place and the older woman behind the counter was very nice and informative. read more
