I can't recommend Diane Dao at Universal Appliance enough! Shopping for appliances can be incredibly overwhelming, but Diane made the entire process feel effortless and stress-free. She truly went above and beyond to help me find the best appliances that fit both my needs and my budget. At no point did I feel pressured into buying something more expensive instead, she was honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely had my best interests at heart. What really stood out was how she treated me like family. She took the time to answer every question, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure I felt confident in every decision. Exceptional customer service like hers is hard to find these days. If you're shopping for appliances, do yourself a favor and ask for Diane. She's the absolute best! Thank you again Diane ! read more

Diane was AMAZING! She's sooo knowledgeable and isn't a pushy sales person. She listened to what we were looking for and gave us all the options. Definitely felt like we made the right decision! Ended up with the Cove dishwasher. Very happy choice! I'll be back for the subzero fridge when I start my kitchen remodel. Thank you, Diane! read more

Our old 48 in built in refrigerator finally died. It had been on life support for a few weeks and finally it had enough late one Saturday night. We panicked bc not only did we have to deal with saving as much food as we could but we had to find a showroom open on Sundays to start our search. Not many are! We walked into Universal Appliance and noticed how beautiful and expansive their showroom was. Diane Dao greeted us, and gave us a few moments to walk around and explore. Our refrigerator was about 20 years old and these new models had so many features to look at. Diane helped us narrow it down to 2 models, gave us so many details on both, and priced everything out. We went home to discuss and we placed the order within 2 days. We decided on the Subzero with French Doors. She coordinated the home service to come measure and assess installation; she gave us the date of delivery. Everything went so smooth. A new subzero certainly is a large unexpected expense but we love our new refrigerator. Here's the bonus: a month later I receive an email from Diane telling us about a $1000 rebate which we qualified for. She had attached all the necessary receipts to make it so easy. I don't think you can beat this level of customer service. So glad we stopped in that day! read more

Do NOT purchase from Universal Appliance Center. The manager Frank is rude & doesn't care about his customers. My husband & I purchased over $30,000 of appliances from them and they would not help even though their installers caused the problem. I repeatedly asked Frank if they could get me another 48" range but he insisted there was nothing he could do..... I've been without a working oven now for over two weeks waiting for Thermador. When Thermador Technician came out today, he said parts were needed and that I would have to wait another 2 weeks. What a nightmare to have spent so much and not have a working oven! read more

We bought a fridge and dryer from this place last year. George was very attentive, knowledgeable and honest and we are very happy with the purchase that we made. First, we were thinking to buy a KitchenAid fridge from another place but we were convinced from him to buy a subzero fridge. Oh my god! It is such a big difference! I know it costed more at first but the food last longer and we were very amazed. The measuring and fitting of the fridge is perfect and so beautiful. It was really worth it and I am so glad we listened to George. Lately our dryer is making a big noise so I called him 2 days ago. He already made an appointment with the LG technician to come out to our house. Even the aftercare he took care of our issues right away! When we buy another house, we will definitely go back to this place and ask for George. We are very thankful to have him. read more

I came to Universal when our refrigerator broke. In our household of 7 people this was kind of a crisis -- I walked into the Costa Mesa showroom needing help in a hurry! Ray was very helpful and patient, answering all my questions and helping me compare the models that would work for our home. We selected a Sub Zero, which was in stock and ready to deliver. Ray helped us through the site survey process and made sure we got our new refrigerator installed without delay. The installation team was really great, carefully and quickly taking out the old built-in and installing the new one. We LOVE our new refrigerator, and we recommend Universal wholeheartedly and without reservation! read more

We met Alex at Universal Appliance through our general contractor, we ordered all appliances, everything you can think of in our new renovation. Alex was not only knowledgeable but kind and patient. My construction was taking a long time while they had them held in their warehouse.. we ordered in mid May and we just got them installed in December. But Alex made the transaction flawless and smooth. We still have to test out the appliances to review but I'm thankful to Alex at Universal Appliance. read more

George is great. He methodically explained me in detail the Monogram built in Refrigerator and what can be the replacement to fit in the space designed for refrigerator. Without knowing. We purchased Thermador range, hood, microwave and dishwasher from Universal in February of this year. It took over 4 months to finally get our dishwasher as they kept telling us they are out of dishwashers. Finally in June the dishwasher arrived, we got very excited but the installer noticed that the dish rack was from their sister lower quality brand and carried the name of Bosh. Now it's almost November and we still don't have the correct dish rack read more

I worked with a great salesman, his name is Md, I called him "The Doctor of Appliances". He helped me every step of the way and provided great support and service. I usually wouldn't splurge on high end appliances, but after doing a lot of research, I am hoping these Wolf, Sub-Zero and Cove appliances hold up for the long run. Md, was knowledgeable about these products and provided me with the best prices on these products, compared to other companies that offer the same brand names. The installers they used were great too and did a great job. I really appreciated Md's support and the team he works with at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center. Thank you, MD! read more

George T has been very helpful throughout the process of selecting new appliances for our remodel. We ended up going with the Thermador kitchen package since it was such a great deal. We also purchased the LG wash tower and the zephyr under cabinet fridge. We made sure to get the extra warranty for each of our appliances. Overall, George has been very helpful, answering my phone calls and emails ASAP. I really appreciate his time and effort to keep his customers happy. One hiccup from Thermador was that they delivered the wrong grills for the range, however, he quickly responded and said that they will be replacing them as soon as they are out of back order. read more

Our designer introduced us to Alex and Universal. During our kitchen and bath remodel, working with Alex has been the most positive and easiest! He is very responsive and goes out of his way to make sure we're happy with our products. We purchased a fridge, oven dishwasher, fixtures and everything was provided on time according to our schedule with competitive pricing! They have a great selection of products and Alex was so patient in finding us just the right items for us. Our remodel turned out gorgeous! Super grateful! read more

Our salesman, Chris, has been working with us for months and doing a great job. We've ordered multiple things from him and he's been nothing but helpful and patient. read more

We were introduced to this store by our designer. We were getting our condo ready to sell and we ended up buying everything new for the kitchen. Our designer sent us the price - which I verified and all the prices were super competitive, I could not find any of the major appliances (Dishwasher, Stove, Refrig, and Microwave drawer) cheaper anywhere. Before the delivery, we had installed a invisible screen door, however that has a frame which made the doorway much smaller. Their delivery crew made it work - they were determined to make it fit through. I have had many deliveries for appliances through the years and these guys were the best. Then we had an issue with the rebates through KitchenAid and our sales person, Alex Delgado, was fantastic. He contacted KitchenAid and we received a nice rebate. I would not use any other place after these overall great experience. read more

Robert Pelham and Alex Campos delivered my Whirlpool washer and dryer today and they were wonderful, except they delivered the wrong ones. I ordered a Cabrio set. The great young men who delivered the machines couldn't have known. The salesman Daniel Hernandez took the order and I did not receive a receipt after the delivery. What a shame when I realized that the machines I asked for and had searched for were not here. It seemed that it might have changed in the years since I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio set that I was replacing. I am very disappointed and should have checked. The young men, Robert and Alex were very good and so the delivery service was excellent, it was at the Appliance store that the mistake was made. But, on the phone they were very nice, just no brass ring for the order that I asked for! read more

We purchased all of our appliances with Universal. We spent like $26,000 But as with any large company it comes down to the employees who make it or brake it! Alex Delgado was outstanding every step of the way. He answered all my questions and responded to all my emails . He also responded quickly , taking the anxiety out of the air!! He explained all the pros and cons with each individual appliance choice. He also brought in an associate Gene Arrants on the plumbing side when I had a shower diverter question . I had purchased through our plumber the incorrect model. Gene had all the answers to correct the situation quickly Make it easy on yourself with all the pitfalls of construction .When your spending this level of money on the appliances that make your kitchen successful please don't hesitate to contact Alex at Universal read more

We used Alex at Universal Appliance to help us pick out a new cooktop, microwave and double ovens. Alex was great to work with. He took us to the Thermador showroom to help us decide on an induction cooktop. This was very helpful. We are new to induction, so required a LOT of information. Alex was very patient. It was so nice to have someone to help us (which is rare nowadays when shopping for appliances). They were also very flexible with the delivery of the appliances. Overall. We have had a very positive experience with Universal Appliance and would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

Fantastic Experience. Thank you Stacey and UAKC We bought a full high end (Sub Zero, Thermador...) Kitchen set from Stacey Bostek at UAKC a year ago. 1. She was fantastic and professional, and an expert - Stacey listened to us, was happy to support us, but also steered us towards better options (not more expensive, just better) for our needs. 2. The pricing was great. It was expensive, but cheaper than the "deal" our GC could offer through their big box relationships. Very fair deal overall. 3. SERVICE. Both on installation setup, but also a year later as we are doing another remodel, Stacey has given immediate support and follow up, even though we have not been spending an additional dollar. She is the best, and honestly the rest of the staff at UAKC have been super as well. We don't write many reviews, but this one is long overdue. read more

With given the sales clerk two quotes showing the model number we wanted one was actually emailed at the same day it's time stamped. She ordered the wrong one. She made a mistake. We didn't catch it so therefore we have to pay. There's no honor amongst these people.. do not trust them with other people you can do business. They refused to rectify the issue issue they caused. There's one difference in the model number And R, and W they are the experts they made the mistake. read more

The owner replied and just blamed the delivery company. However, my complaint isn't just about that. Accidents happen. Universal failed on all levels following the delivery. That is where most of the headache came from. You can just blame others for mistakes that your employees are making. Talk to Frank about "extended lunches", workers not knowing where he is, not returning phone calls, issuing checks to the wrong people. Talk to the grumpy accounting lady about attitude, yelling at customers and not trying to solve problems. When another employee makes a mistake saying "it's not my fault! What should I do about!" is not helpful and doesn't solve the problem. read more

A kitchen remodel is a very daunting experience. But when I met Alex Delgado at Universal Appliance, I had one less thing to worry about! Coming in, I had no idea what appliance and plumbing items to get, but he walked me through the store guiding me to the choices that have made my dream kitchen (and laundry) come to fruition! He could tell what I needed and how to put it together. Without his help I probably would have made some very poor choices, and not been able to select all the small things you need that compliment all the big purchases. That way, the installers had everything they needed to get the job done. His expertise made all the difference in the world. Thank you, Alex and thank you Universal. read more

As we have been using subzero refrigerators all along, we contacted Alex who is a very professional salesperson to recommend a suitable size freezer and a fresh-keeping cabinet for us to replace with a new one. The location of this showroom is very good. Delivered on time and helped put it in my garage. Assisted in providing installation companies and professional companies for refrigerator cabinet doors. The overall quality and service are very good. The after-sales service is also done very well. A very pleasant shopping experience. Looking forward to the next time. read more

Terrible communication. Ordered bath fixtures and no one followed up or stayed on top of availability with manufacturers so when the items were supposed to ship and didn't, I was left in the dark. I had to quickly go out and find substitute items. On the appliance side, things were slightly better, but communication was still lacking. I had to reach out to confirm delivery dates and no one had told me that the date I selected was not available...this communication error threw off subsequent scheduling with other contractors and was totally avoidable. read more

Outstanding value and customer service experience during our kitchen and two bathroom remodel. I am giving these folks one star....if there were no stars, I would. We went to this store and nobody even bothered to talk to us or address us. We were there in the store for 30 mins. Three or four reps saw us, they did not even acknowledge we were there. They have these buttons on their devices to press for assistance, we pressed the button twice to ask for suggestions. Imagine this kind of service when we have not even bought the appliance, what it would be afterwards if we decided to make a purchase. I agree with the other 1 star reviews here. We went to PIRCH by SOCO near Hyland Ave after this place and we made a big purchase. The PIRCH experience is a thousand times better. They make you truly feel valuable and are not pushy. read more

I'd give ZERO stars if possible, do yourselves a favor and avoid this place at all costs. I spent over 20k with them and their customer service sucks, especially for an appliance company that sells high end items. If you pay 15k plus for an oven and 2700$ for a microwave and another 3k for a range hood and blower, then you should probably expect amazing customer service, but nope! Not only has our oven range been inoperable for the last 5 months, due to gas leaking and filling my house but they wouldn't return the brand new 30 inch microwave I bought from them, all because Stacey Bostek probably didn't want the hit on her commission. And if you have a problem with an appliance they pass you off with a phone number rather than help you solve the issue. When I called the microwave company (which I won't name because they've been helpful) the lady said there is no reason they couldn't return the microwave. Now I'm stuck with a 2700$ microwave sitting in my garage. Wasn't until I mentioned leaving a review til they started caring, yet still haven't returned the microwave. SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE! find a place with better customer service. Maybe try pacific appliances. That's where I should've gone. read more

We had a great experience with Universal Appliance & Kitchens. Alex is very professional, helpful, and always responds to calls or texts in a timely manner. Alex is knowledgeable about a variety of appliances and helped to answer my detailed questions. We ended up purchasing a full set of Thermador kitchen appliances and GE washer/dryer for our laundry room. Alex looked into the specs for me to be sure that we chose the right stove hood for our space. He provided a complete list of specs for me to pass on to our contractor as well. My wife had the best experience purchasing our appliances and plumbing fixtures from Universal. Alex is one of the most knowledgeable, responsive and genuine salespersons she has ever encountered. We had a major flood at our house and so had to do a complete remodel in a very short time. Alex walked her thru every step and gave her many options. She is the type that usually researches every purchase to death before deciding but with Alex's help she felt at ease and comfortable trusting his expertise. Gene was also amazing in his customer service with some of our plumbing needs. She never felt pressured to buy anything at Universal and was shown many quality appliances from high end to some more affordable options. Their whole operation is top notch! read more

Having had a great experience with Universal in Costa Mesa when purchasing a Thermador kitchen package for our Newport Coast home last year, we naturally turned to sales rep Jacob Centano once again for our newly constructed rental adu in Laguna Beach. This time it was all LG kitchen appliances as well as a stacked washer & dryer. As before, Jacob provided invaluable help and guidance, especially since we were dealing with limited spacing. When there were some issues with the installation of the dryer in a particularly tight spot, Jacob followed up until the issue was finally resolved. He also stayed in touch while we waited for our rebate from LG which came a couple months later. Jacob was positive, communicative and simply a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Due to the sudden closure of Pirch I was without my appliances that I had already ordered and paid 50 percent up front. My friend Susan reached out to Sub Zero and an employee named Kathy referred me to Randy Acosta. He is an excellent employee. Great customer service skills. Helped me get another range and hood, exactly what I had ordered through Pirch initially. Also bought a dishwasher from him too. Everything was done over the phone. My appliances were delivered within a week. I was missing the knobs on the range. Randy called the company immediately and had them shipped to me. I had received them right away. The second knobs were not shipped out. Randy drove to the warehouse and personally had the second set of knobs delivered to me. Now that's what I mean when I say excellent customer service.
