I initially called Planet Beauty to ask about their Jane Iredale products since I used to love that foundation, but when I reordered it from Nordstrom, it just wasn't the same, since they changed their formula. The woman I spoke to on the phone was so friendly that it actually made me want to come in. When I got there, the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. They took the time to show me different Jane Iredale products, test out shades on me, and even let me step outside with a mirror to see how everything looked in natural lighting, which I really appreciated. I ended up leaving with the perfect foundation and a powder SPF in the best shade. They also shared some great promotions they had going on. Honestly, such a great experience from start to finish. It was cheaper on the planet beauty website THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHAT THEY SOLD ME WAS ACTUALLY NOT the byTerry Baum de rose lip balm! What I got was cheaper because it is a counterfeit product. Ive been here twice. The first time, I bought hair bleach and I liked it so much I wanted to come back again when I had to buy more. They also Have a great sale, buy three get one free. When you need to get three bleach packets and a bottle of activator, this works out perfectly! I was helped by a very friendly woman who talked to us the best she could about hair bleach. We were freestyling it, which is a bit of a crazy thing to do when it comes to hair color. If you're going in to shop for hair stuff, I will recommend doing your own research before hand. I like the coupons and promotions they have as well! Any savings are welcomed! What got me to purchase from them again was their customer service. Good service is expected when you purchase items (obviously) when things go well. It's when it doesn't and how things are handled afterwards is what will always get me to come back and become loyal customer. I had an issue with a dry shampoo. The sprayer part broke off. The two girls who work at this Planet Beauty are incredibly friendly and GO ABOVE AND BEYOND. I was leaving for a trip to France and needed a certain quantity of product--they offered to ship, which wouldn't work with my pending trip. So they offered to drive over to another location to grab me what I needed. They didn't direct me to go, they went for me! They have my business for life. Staff had major difficulty processing an online return. Didn't know how to pull the order up properly. Had to ask multiple people to help and then call the manager. Took 20 minutes. When she finally processed the "refund" the employee actually charged it again a second time- despite my asking if it was a refund and her assuring me it was. So finally I had to get 2 refunds. I stopped by this location today. The worker has titanium white hair. She was very mean to me when I tried to return my items. And then she ignored me and made me wait. After she stopped ignoring me, she finally let me return my items and then changed her mind. She threatened to block my account. This business does belong with the customers. I feel like this worker is racist against Asians. She talked to me very loudly and other customers could hear. How could she do business like that? I left quietly after our interaction. Bad service. I placed an online order for a product that was advertised at a fantastic price. Usually sells for $28 and was listed at $5. Should have know it was too good to be true, as a few days later I received an email cancelling my order stating that the product was no longer available. Interestingly enough, when I logged onto their website, I was still able to place the item in my shopping basket for the original price of $28; the $5 price was gone. Stay away from this planet beauty. The workers are not friendly and they are very sneaky. I told the workers what I was looking for and they grabbed the most expensive product and walked immediately over to the cash register and began to ring me up. I had no idea what brand the products were, how much they cost, what they looked like, etc. They were so sneaky in trying to get me to buy the most expensive product. Secondly, when I told them the product was out of my price range and that I'd like something cheaper, they looked at each other, began speaking another language, and laughed. In an area heavily populated by beauty supply stores, Planet Beauty still shines. Although this location is smaller than some of their other locations, they still have a great selection of Smashbox, Jane Iredale, Ava, Dermalogica, Murad, and so on. Lots of great candles and gift boxes so it's a great place to run in quickly to pick up a great birthday present. The staff is EXTREMELY helpful and nice. They haven't sold me a bad product yet. (One eye cream irritated my eyes a little but I could exchange it easily so not a big deal). I LOVE Jane Iredale that I do not believe to be overpriced given the results. People ALWAYS complement me on my make-up. Get the refreshing spray. Even though it's 25 dollars it is well worth it and smells amazing! PB has great sales as well so make sure to get on their mailing list and check in frequently for in-store specials. My only complaint is that they really need to start carrying Davines although if you request it the management will bring some over from the other locations for easy pick up. I had walked into planet beauty today after having an awful experience at ulta and was helped by Diana. She is absolutely amazing and really knows her stuff. She took her time to sit down with me and help me out with certain things I was looking for. I'm an esthetician and know my skin care but I'm not too savvy with my makeup so thank goodness Diana was there today! I wanted to leave a positive yelp review because I know it's so easy to yelp bad experiences that we forget about the good ones! I just got a keratin hair treatment done and my hair dresser told me to get new shampoo and conditioner without sulfates and salts. She suggested I go to a beauty supply store and just ask someone that works there which products they would suggest. I yelped a couple places and this one had pretty good reviews. As soon as I walked in a girl named Maritza greeted me with a smile and directed me to a couple different brands that most people who have gotten a keratin treatment before typically buy. She answered all my questions and was super helpful. When she rang me up she explained how the shampoo works, since it's sulfate free it's not going to suds up like a normal shampoo does and it's more concentrated so she explained how a little goes a long way. She also threw in a sample dry shampoo since I don't wash my hair everyday. Overall I was super happy and it's people like her that make me want to come back again! When you don't know much about hair and beauty these places can be overwhelming but Maritza made it a smooth experience. read more

As usual I was rushing to a job interview having no time to find my other black heel I ran over to Ross and right away found the perfect pair of black heels and they were on sale. But then, I get in the car, and take one glance in the rear view mirror and thought to myself, I can't go anywhere looking like this. SO right across the street I see planet beauty, thinking I will just stop in tell them my situation and see if anyone had any suggestions, and then I met the assistant manager named Dianna, ( who by the way was the only one working at that time) she not only dabbed some much needed cover up under my puffy and dark eyes but she applied the most amazing mascara on my lashes (I am used to not having to wear mascara because I have been getting lash extentions for over a year) and on top of all of that SHE EVEN FIXED my hair, pulling it back and pinning it into a much neater bun!. Not only did she go out of her way to get me fixed up quickly but she made me feel 1000 times more put together. I thanked her and even gave her a big hug, and as I was walking away. I had a bad experience at ulta yesterday and left there angry, thought I'd go across the street to the Starbucks and treat myself. Then I noticed planet beauty and thought just maybe they'd have what I needed and be a little nicer. Well, I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Tiffany helped me find a terrific new foundation, and the most awesome lip stain ever. She took the time to apply skin care serum, foundation and concealer to help me find just the right shade.
