HALLELUJAH! My loccitaine location is back at fashion island! I was extremely upset when I went to fashion island the other month to pick up some stuff At L'Occitaine, and it was NO LONGER NEAR GARY's. At that time, I had issues with my auto replenishments through the L'Occitaine website, so I called corporate to rectify the situation. while on the phone with the customer service representative, I explicitly stated that I was upset that their fashion island location was gone. He replied by saying that and I had two choices of boutiques near me: SCP and mission Viejo. He gave me incorrect information. That said, I was BEYOND happy to see that they RELOCATED. Lecia was an absolute doll as well as the other sales associate. They helped me find everything I needed, threw in some samples, and included a birthday gift as it's my birthday month. The new store is larger,not as crowded, and it is as vibrant and lovely as the people who work there. This is the only boutique location I will happily spend my money at, and I'm just so happy they relocated & are still at FI. There was NO WAY I was going to deal with the madness and inconvenience of going to SCP or Mission Viejo. So happy to find the new location today. Thanks for the stellar service, Lecia and staff! Awesome service today by Shakeena (sp?). That was the name the friendly gal provided when I asked (so I could give her kudos in this review) - but oddly enough, my receipt said I was helped by Etombo. Anyway, stopped by here since I had a birthday email from L'Occitane offering me a choice of two gift sets if I made a reasonable purchase. To be honest - I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for - I just knew some of their skincare stuff is popular for air travelers, and I was curious about their shower gels, since I have a decent selection at home and will usually pick a gel based on my mood that day. The gal clerk was super friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked into the shop. It's a cute boutique sized shop with a wide variety of items. The smell was pleasant, not overwhelming like other bath/body stores (looking at you Bath and Body Works!), organized and had a great selection. I shared briefly what I was looking for, and the gal clerk showed me the different offerings they had, including a nifty travel set for Men, which contained: L'Occitan Shower Gel, After-Shave Balm, and Cade Shaving Gel. Everything was under 3oz. - which is helpful for air travel, especially if you aren't checking luggage. I also picked up a 8.4oz. bottle of their Cap Cedrat shower gel - after having the clerk sample the four shower gels in the Men's section. Happy to add that to my shower gel collection, especially since it doesn't smell similar to any of the others I currently have. Checkout was prompt and efficient. I think my visit lasted no more than 15 minutes - which was great for time, yet I didn't feel rushed at all. The gal clerk (which I keep referring to this way due to the name discrepancy mentioned above) was thorough, knowledgeable, and courteous. I could not have asked for a better experience. read more

Are second - hand reviews okay? my nearly 70 year old mother bought a shampoo and conditioner here. but the lady put two shampoos instead of one of each item. when my mom returned the item, exchanged the item, they were so impolite and non-chill about it, she decided to never return to the store as well as any other L'occitane stores. The brand is ruined for her, and she's been a good customer for a very long time. (I would have written this review sooner but she only casually told me this today as we walked by it.) L'Occitane's product line will overload your olfactory senses with fruity concoctions, flowery aromas, and powdery/sweet scents. It can be more than a little overwhelming... L'Occitane is like an amped up Bath & Body; they use organic ingredients and essential oils - it's almost like you're bathing with honey, or smoothing yourself with crushed lavender. Great store for skin care and bath products. They have some great fragrances and home items such as candles and room sprays. The scents are high quality and its nice to wear a cologne or perfume that is unique and different that isn't worn by everyone. The staff is friendly and they have great holiday gift sets. Oui, if you know me then you know J'adore les Francais... and L'Occitane provides much deserved adoration in keeping with my love of all things French. Some may look at the prices and shy away from trying their products but if that's been you -I encourage you to indulge! You won't be disappointed and may even be pleasantly surprised because a little goes a long way and all of their products last far longer than you'd think. My favorites are the Shea Butter Extra Gentle soap in verbena, Verbena shower gel & body lotion... L'Occitane does verbena right! So deliciously fresh and citrusy... it's the perfect way to wake up in the morning in a nice hot shower. Some shower gels especially can be overpoweringly feminine but not these. Even my guy loves the fresh, crisp scent of this line... and who doesn't love that their natural and organic!? All of their shea butter products are delightful and extremely hydrating. ... so it's really pick the scent that pleases you most. There are a couple locations not far from me and this is by far my favorite because I love the vibe of being outdoors in the (mostly) California sunshine while I shop. read more

L'occitane from France has wonderful products. I first discovered L'occitane when I was visiting Dublin, and I was happy to find out that they now have locations in the US. The scents are amazing! It's like being in the South of France. Lavender, honey, amber, vetyver, rose, green tea, vanilla, verbena, and the list goes on and on. I really like their shea butter products and their olive oil products. The locations, soaps, shower gels, perfumes, and room sprays are all awesome. You just have to go in there and sample everything to experience it. Prices are reasonable, and they sometimes have sales. Plus they come out with new fragrances quite often. read more

I love this store to the moon and back.. It smells so good, the sales help is always so nice and polite and I love the products. I've never purchased anything for myself in here (too pricey) but I buy other people gifts here all the time. I love to try the lotions but to tell you the truth, I have an entire cupboard FULL of unopened bottles of lotion at home that I need to use up before I even think about purchasing anything new. I came in the other day to purchase a birthday gift and I found a nice selection of products to choose from. The cheery sales girl sprayed the tissue in the bag with some nice smelling foo-foo...it made my car smell good on the ride home, plus the bags are tissue are adorable. This is a great store to pick up birthday gifts and Mother's Day gifts. I mean, what lady does not does not like pretty smelling soap, perfume and lotion anyway? Cute store and friendly associates. Plus, it's pet-friendly. Woohoo! This place smells really good without being overwhelming (like Bath and Body Works -- yikes for my allergies). The prices are a bit steep compared to B&B and the Body Shop but that said, I feel super posh when I buy/use L'Occitane. A funny story: We came here with a friend of ours and she totally ran into store and started gushing over everything. She grabs this bottle with an atomizer (yanno, the puffy squeezy thing) and squirts several bursts of the contents. She turns to the associate and asks her how much the perfume was and the very nice associate gently told her it was room deodorizing spray. OOPS! Needless to say, she smelled like that fragrance all day. Note to self: Read the label before spraying. read more

I love l'Occitane and grew up using their products due to sensitivity/allergy issues. However I really dislike the service at this store. The salespeople follow me around every time I come and they only treat me nice when I finally check out (and spend quite a bit). The last time I was here, I was not asked if I was a VIP. I am, and every other store I am asked this question. I was harangued by the salesgirl to try a hand cream and she couldn't or wouldn't listen to me politely telling her, no, but thank you. I felt intimidated being in here. Another time I had one salesman nitpick at my appearance. I noticed he was never there again after that and assume he must not be there anymore. I want to go to l'Occitane at the end of this month and am debating whether or not I'll go to the one in my current city of Brea (where I've had nothing but pleasant experiences and am allowed to browse at my leisure) or maybe give Fashion Island one more chance. Anyone reading this, I really love this brand and have rarely found anything which compares to how it makes me feel. I would go to Hell to buy l'Occitane en Provence, and I am still willing to support this store because I hope they continue to improve. read more

Never even been into the store but I was in dire need of a lip moisturizing mask. I asked the gal for help and if she had samples of the scrub. "No" she replied. "We don't offer samples". After I showed interest in the lip mask that she swore by she said "Well, if you buy this lip mask, I'll give you a sample of the scrub." Wait...I thought you didn't offer samples. So overall I was told I had to buy something in order to get a sample. They must work on commission because it was complete manipulation. I have been using l'occitane products for over 10 years now and usually buy everything online. I decided to visit the Newport shop and what a huge mistake that was, the two people who were working were so rude, condescending and gave me the "I'm better than you" attitude. After politely declining help 4 times from one person, the other guy snapped at me because I didn't need/want help. Usually when you say "I'm just looking" it means that when I need help I'll ask for it. I just couldn't believe how rude they were, I walked out without buying a single thing. read more

Love the cream but unfortunately the service was pretty bad, will definitely not buy from this store again!

i was running out of my shea butter ultra rich body cream and decided to pick up a new one when i was at fashion island last saturday. i've been using this for 5 years now and i absolutely love it. the cream is rich enough to really be moisturizing but soft enough to be easily applied. the price is easily justifiable since it works well - but if it is a little out of your price range, use this every few days and use a cheaper moisturizer in between. the two ladies at the counter were very helpful and friendly. signed me up on their list so i would be able to receive free samples and stuff (no one told me this before), and gave me a few free samples with my purchase. i also recently tried out their hand moisturizer last year, still using it. a little goes a long way! read more

This was my first time at this shop i happened to come to this shop because it reminded me of bath and body works. I smelled this lotion i think it is like rose flavor and couldn`t but it down it smelled so good, that i had to buy it. I would defintely come here to look at more stuff or buy that same lotion because i love the smell of it. I purchased one because it was 10 dollars for medium sized tube but i love it. I fell in love with L'occitane bath products a few years ago while I was staying at Four Seasons Aviara in Carlsbad, CA. Yes, their products are a bit pricey but worth every single penny. As a busy mom, I rarely have time to put on hand cream during the day. So at night I use L'occitane's amazing 20% shea butter hand cream. It is not greasy and smells wonderful and keeps my hands soft and smooth. Just use about the size of two green peas each night, the price tag of $25 for 5.2 oz. doesn't really come out that expensive at all. Use this on your heels before bedtime, put on a pair of cotton socks, viola, say bye bye to dryness! read more
