I have been a Sephora loyalist since the store began. I used to work in a profession where a variety of makeup and hair was required and my skin took a beating. So Sephora and I have been shopping with each other for many years! Unfortunately, my experiences at Sephora have gone downhill overtime, and this store is an example of that. The store itself is always a little bit dirty, a little bit messy, it feels cluttered and disorganized. I dread going in here to shop! The staff seems stressed out almost all of the time, the line for the register is way too small for how many people are often in the purchases queue, and they have way too few cash points to handle the traffic. I still appreciate the variety of brands, but shopping at this Sephora in particular, but also unfortunately many other stores in their brand, has become unpleasant. read more

I've visited Sephora many times to get my makeup done. I never expect a full glam transformation but sometimes it's just nice to relax and have someone else do your makeup, and I've actually gotten some truly amazing artists in the past. That's why today's experience was such a shock, especially on my birthday. When I arrived, I checked in 15 minutes early. I wasn't asking to be seen early, just letting them know I was there. Normally, if you check in early, they invite you to sit, get comfortable, maybe look at a few products or shade match while you wait. I didn't expect any special treatment, but instead I overheard the hostess tell the manager, Leslie, that I had arrived early, and Leslie immediately responded with attitude: "She'll need to wait the full 15 minutes until her appointment starts." Again, totally fine with me, but the tone was unnecessary, and it set the wrong vibe from the start. If it had only been that moment, I would've shrugged it off and never said a word. Then my appointment began with the artist, Crystal, and that's where everything really began to fall apart. She spent the first 10 minutes just staring at me, asking what colors I liked but having absolutely nothing prepared. Every other Sephora appointment I've had, the artist brings out their go-to favorites or recommendations and it's part of what makes the service fun and helps you discover new products. Crystal brought out almost nothing. I showed her inspiration photos -- soft, natural shadows and simple lashes. Somehow, she drew a huge wing all the way up toward my eyebrow. It looked nothing like the pictures. I asked her to remove it. She redrew it -- again so long and not matching the vibe of the natural look in the makeup. She tried three separate wings, even though I never asked for a wing at all so I finally asked her to please remove the wings completely. Meanwhile, she kept smearing eyeliner into my lash extensions, and I had to try to remove it myself because they were clumping together. Forty minutes into the appointment, my eyes still looked nothing like what I asked for, and I finally said, "Can we please move on to skin?" She told me she only had a few minutes left and that I should've booked a 90 minute appointment even though every other time I've gone, they've gotten my makeup done in about 30 minutes for full face, but I always book the 60 minute and we spend time shopping or picking out products that were used. The face makeup was even worse. She applied foundation so thick and cakey that when I touched my face lightly, it literally came off on my hand. She ignored the products I told her I liked and used heavy powders on mature skin, something any trained artist knows to avoid. When the checkout girl saw me, she genuinely tried to help because even she could see how bad the makeup looked. At that point, I wanted to cry. I almost never ask for a manager, but this experience was that bad. Unfortunately, speaking to Leslie made everything worse. She was dismissive, cold, and condescending. I didn't want a refund, I just wanted someone to help fix my makeup so I didn't have to leave looking like that on my birthday. Her response? "You should've left halfway through the appointment if you didn't like it." I explained that I was trying to give the artist a chance to fix it, but she continued talking to me as if I was the issue. She offered no help, no solutions, nothing. To summarize: This was the worst makeup application I've ever had, combined with some of the rudest customer service I've ever experienced. I highly recommend not booking with Crystal and avoiding any situation where an issue might be escalated to Leslie, who should absolutely not be in a management role. A birthday appointment that should've been fun and relaxing turned into the most stressful and disappointing experience I've had at Sephora. I had to redo my face, rush and was late to my own party and I wish I never wasted my time here! Avoid the makeup services and Sephora should consider more qualified staff for one of their best local locations. read more

I've visited several SEPHORA stores, and this location at the Irvine Spectrum Mall is by far the biggest and has most everything I need. It's very convenient for picking up a wide variety of items in one trip. I've been here a few times and have experienced both good and not so good service. Some staff members are friendly and helpful, making shopping easy and enjoyable. Other times, service has been slower, and it felt like employees were a bit distracted or rushed. The store itself is generally well organized and clean, which makes it easy to find what I'm looking for. Parking at the Irvine Spectrum Mall is decent, though it can get busy during peak hours. The location is also great if you want to combine shopping with other activities at the mall, like dining or entertainment. read more

Sephora has always been a girl's heaven. There are so many cute products and packaging. I love how everything is displayed with organization and visual design as a top priority. This location is well organized, but I have two issues that really ruined the experience for me. The first issue is that it felt like there was no AC and they closed the doors. So, it was very stuffy. My second issue was that in a 20 minute period, we had at least 5-10 staff members come up to us asking if we needed anything. At first it seems nice and attentive and eventually it made me wonder if they're making commission or something? Or is it like an anti-theft type of thing? Ultimately, their pushiness pushed me right out of the store and I ended up finding the same product at Ulta the next day. I am sad to say, but customer service has a big impact on my purchase, and this to me did not feel like staff who were really making sure I was ok. It felt pushy and overbearing. read more

I had a deeply uncomfortable experience on May 10th. While shopping in the cosmetics area, I was targeted by a group of women who were openly mocking and insulting me and other customers. I personally heard them laughing and saying things like, 'look at the clowns, we are in the circus. When I calmly tried to address the situation, they treated it like a joke. Management was nowhere to be found to intervene. It is disappointing that Sephora allows this kind of hostile 'mean girl' environment to persist. No one should feel bullied while trying to shop. Its been 2 1/2 yr since my last spree in sephora, The reason is i no longer like their policy as strickly returns adter 3 months and with reciept and un-opened perfume was not acknowledge, Their lost for not accepting it. as my mom an i spent 2k-3k a year in our my skin and facial routine, I buy my stuff, Expensive Hair oil and Pricey Brazilian body cream at the other beauty store lols. We all know Christmas shopping (especially at a busy shopping mall) can be an absolute chaotic and stressful experience -- then add the extra stress of it being the weekend before Christmas and just the sheer amount of people shopping, parking, and just everyone out enjoying their holiday weekend can feel overwhelming. And to say I felt victim to that stress is an understatement. However, the crew at this Sephora completely changed my attitude! Especially your team member Isaiah. What a positive light he was and turned my entire day of shopping around! So much so I felt compelled to write this review. He could have easily just cashed myself and others out without thinking much of it -- but you could tell he cared about what he was doing and who he was taking care of. I love Sephora's products, but my experience at this location was really uncomfortable. I was approached by staff nearly 10 times in 15 minutes with offers to help, even after I politely declined each time. It felt less like helpful customer service and more like I was being watched, which made it hard to shop in peace. Came here with my nephew. He needed to pick up some moisturizer. And of course, its busy as always and we knew the chaos we were going to enter in. We stood in line outside waiting to get in. We were greeted by Brandon and he was such a delight. His personality and demeanor was so pleasant and genuine. Then we entered the store. The first associate my nephew had asked for assistance had directed him to a section of make up removers. We didn't get his name. But like hello, maybe you should have assisted him like you should and walk him over so you can realize it was not the right section. My nephew did finally found the correct aisle for his moisturizer and got what he needed. Got to the register and the gentleman there was very personable and helpful. I go to Sephora at least once a week. This location is very busy and usually out of stock of most products but I've never had an issue with their sale associates so I always come back! I went in to purchase a few items and was getting color matched when my friend pulled out there phone to record me for 2 seconds. A very rude manager named svetlana told him "do not record in here" to which he said oh she's my friend and she said "it doesn't matter there is no recording allowed in here" and he said "I was just helping her she's a content creator" and she said "it doesn't matter" I have NO issue with no recording policies however Svetlana was extremely rude and unprofessional with her approach. Had she let us know kindly "hey guys unfortunately we ask customers to not record in our store due to xyz" it wouldn't be a problem. This interaction was so unprofessional and her attitude was insane that even the sale associates let me know she had 0 problems being recorded and she was very kind. As a manager you are supposed to be a good leader and set the example. Your staff should not have to apologize for your behavior Svetlana. read more

Went in just to browse and ended up scheduling a make-up education session for my mom with Jessica... and wow! Jessica was so attentive, she explained the entire process to my mom, and made sure that my mom felt comfortable the whole time. My mom's make-up turned out amazing and I could just see how much confidence she had after it was all done. I asked a worker about them having a specific item and that one didn't have a clue, so I decided to ask someone else. Huge huge huge thank you to Tony/Toni (??) for helping me out. So knowledgeable about products and skincare. I am in love with my dewy barrier hydrating stick from Nudestix that I was introduced to! Such an amazing product!! As advised, I use it on my face, lips, and even the top of my hands, and my palms for hydration. It is super waterproof. I put it on in the morning and it lasts, especially during these winter days where my skin is particularly dry. I wear with sunscreen since it has vitamin C in the product. This is like a Botox stick! My fine lines and wrinkles are gone on my face once I apply it. Also, the Dior lip addict lip stain lipsticks are amazing. I love the formula. I am deeply disappointed by the distressing incident my son and his friends experienced at the Irvine Spectrum store on February 17, 2024, between 5:30-7:30 PM. They visited irvine Spectrum to celebrate my son's 14th birthday and to purchase his first cologne at Sephora-this was his first outing alone with his friends. Unfortunately, the visit at Sephora turned unpleasant due to an accusation of theft by an individual, possibly a salesperson or vendor at the store- no reasonable suspicion except that she said she felt that one of the boys was looking at the camera. This lady, grabbed one of the boys, a minor, and forced them to empty their pockets and backpacks publicly. This humiliating experience was witnessed by their female friends from school who were also there, making it more embarrassing . After she didn't find anything on them, Instead of apologizing, the lady rudely walked away stating that they still look suspicious. After hearing about this me, and the other parents were absolutely livid! I spoke to the manager, McKayla, on February 18, 2024, at around 6:00 PM. While she was professional and sympathetic, she failed to follow through on her promise on calling me back in the next couple of days after she investigated the incident. As a long-time Sephora customer with positive experiences, specially at the Laguna Niguel store, this incident has shocked and upset me. And want management to address the unjustified actions and unwanted touching by an adult on a minor. I trust that you will investigate and take measures to prevent such incidents in the future. I dont believe my favorite employee was working this day, so I was being helped by a woman in her 50's. She had curly hair & wore red lipstick. I don't know why they make curbside pickup an option. I always prefer curbside since the parking at Irvine Spectrum can be hectic. Every single time I do pickup it takes 15 min. and then I eventually call the store to let them know I'm here. They always have an attitude, and I wouldn't keep coming if it wasn't so close to me. This is a really nice Sephora at the Spectrum which is now called "Irvine Center" Everyone is very happy to help you find the fountain of youth! I so WISH that was possible!! Been shopping at Sephora since 2000 at SCP. Years later I was in Irvine to pick strawberries and stopped by here to check out Sephora but I didn't need anything. Lo and behold, I saw Luis from SCP...it was so warm to see a familiar friendly warm face. He's been helping me with skin, makeup, fragrances, body care, I even opened up the Sephora credit card. Omg, love Sephora but love the staff especially someone as experienced as Luis. He's super chill and fun, he just gets how makeup and stuff like this is for each individual person and his experience is timeless. I'm so glad I stopped by. I couldn't believe it. New stuff I hadn't ever experienced, I purchased! Love the Nest fragrance oils set. The Sephora house brand stuff are really effective like the powder exfoliator and peel pads, especially if you're sensitive skin, acne, and are combo skin. It was my brother's wedding day, and I was hoping to walk in somewhere...anywhere...and get my makeup done. Not only did this location open earlier than any other Sephora location in OC (except Downtown Disney - but I wasn't driving up that way) they helped me with a walk in. On Labor Day!! Arlene took my call, gave me the info to come in, and followed up with me throughout my appt to help grab the products I wanted to take with me to the wedding. Her hairspray suggestion for the ocean air humidity was spot on! Not a frizz in sight and my curls lasted all night. Anna did my makeup and WOW she knocked it out of the park. She listened to what I wanted, made suggestions based on my request for camera flash friendly, but waterproof (because I wasn't crying, you're crying, during the ceremony) and took time to tell me what she was doing all throughout the process. She used the best products. She got me out of there and on my way very smoothly and as quickly as possible. I was able to pay in a flash for the service and the girls had everything ready for me to dash out the door. She was extremely helpful and polished and I was so happy I went in to see these girls. This location has the rudest worker I have ever encountered at a Sephora store. Jacob at Sephora Irvine was so condescending and dismissive. He was at the counter checking people out. When I came up, he seemed extremely annoyed and was speaking to me in an aggressive tone. He was speaking like he thought I was stupid, shaking his head, rolling his eyes and said DO YOU WANT IT OR NOT? I couldn't hear him because the store was loud and I said excuse me? And he points at the display case and makes this face like wtf!? I'm like sure. He goes TAP! (Referring to my card) Speaking in such a curt and rude tone. I also had an item I changed my mind about and he snatched it and slammed it down behind him. He was so unpleasant. I have no idea why he was so upset and I understand it's almost the holidays so it can get really busy and overwhelming but it's really not fair to take it out on people who are just shopping and ruining their mood too. read more
