Jackie also went above and beyond on helping me with an issue that was not even hers to begin with. She provided me with options, explanations, and support throughout this whole process. Lastly, Jackie followed up with me today to make sure I will be getting my refund and an email confirmation as well with that information. This is one of only three or four online reviews. I have written and I am nearly 50 years old. I have been purchasing my hair care products exclusively at this location for over 20 years. I walked into the store during Covid even when I was scared to leave my home. I have always received a 20% discount until today. When I was at the register purchasing a Pureology product the clerk provided me the total. When I inquired of the 20% discount, she told me that was not an option and that I should have been receiving points. I told her I have not received any points or coupons, that I always provide my telephone number at point of purchase, and I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years. She simply shrugged. I told her if a discount of some sort was not going to be honored then I would not make the purchase and instead drive two minutes down the road to Ulta. She told me that was fine. She was one of the poorest customer service representatives I have encountered. If I treated one of my clients that way I would be fired. Absolutely shameful. I just finished purchasing the same product at Ulta at the Irvine Marketplace which is only two signal lights away. The price of the product at Planet Beauty was $98. The price of the product at Ulta was $90. Plus, the lady at the Ulta checkout counter was exceptionally helpful in assisting me to download the Ulta app and begin point accumulation toward future purchases. I just have to give a shout out to Jackie the manager. I went in to look for gifts for my friends and she turned me on to Rodial Skin Care line. I bought the dragon's blood sculpting gel and their hydrating moisturizer and Bee Venom moisturizers for my friends and myself. I have been using Perricone MD for over 10 plus years and love the results. But when I switched over to Rodial, I could not believe how amazing and hydrated my skin looks and feels. I came in to Planet Beauty tonight, the Tustin store, and I was looking for shampoo and product to help stop hair loss. I was lucky to have Dulce helping me tonight with my search for products that help with thinning hair and hair loss. She seemed knowledgeable about hair products in general and products for hair loss. Dulce took an interest in my needs and I ended up purchasing Bumble and Bumble Hair preserving shampoo, Hair Preserving Booster spray and B&B Hair preserving conditioner. I hate it when stores hand out coupons like candy, but don't tell you what the exclusions are right on there. We came in with the sole purpose to use a coupon that we were emailed, which said 24% off, plus get a free gift. So, we picked out what we needed and went to the cashier. Ordinarily I would have asked if my items were excluded, but no one came to ask if we needed help. But I'm pretty sure 80% of the products in the store are excluded from any discount. The cashier looked at or coupon and read it aloud to herself. Then she says, "These items are excluded and I've never heard of a free gift" and she laughed it off. By then we were getting stares from the customers in line behind us, so we just just finished our transaction and left, sans free gift. Overall, the store is small and cramped, and while it's organized, you'll have a tough time finding what you need because they have such a large number of products in a small space. You'll have a better experience at Ulta, and probably get better customer service. But your best bet would be to go online and get your hair products for less if you already know what you want. read more

I dropped by this Planet Beauty today, and the store is amazing! I've been to several Planet Beauty locations, but this is by far the largest location (almost twice the size of my local store) with the greatest selection yet. Looking for a specific brush (390 Cricket Technique round brush), I had been to several Planet Beauty stores earlier this week. I finally found the brush here, just seconds after walking into the store! The customer service here is great too. What has happened to this store? I wondered why I was the only one in it one week before Xmas. Two snotty sales reps working. I went there to use my 20% off coupon. I saw a discount being applied when the items were being scanned and assumed it was the 20% for eligible items. After I received my receipt I only had 10% applied. When I asked why I was told that's all I qualified for. I showed the 20% email I received and the sales rep said too late you didn't ask for it and then turned away and started chatting with the other snotty rep. Stay away from here. Go to Sephora for customer service. The correct thing to do would be to return the items and rescan with the 20% off. I was told we don't accept returns. It was one minute after the purchase. I guess I shouldn't be that surprised. Planet Beauty has never been known for customer service and they still live up to their reputation. It's not so much about getting the other 10% discount on eligible items (even though they sent me an email offering it) it's more about how they dismiss their customers. I stopped by with a Groupon and was really happy to find it. I find getting to the one in the Spectrum to be a bit of a hassle and I'm not always near Newport Beach. I knew one of the products I wanted to get, but was totally just browsing around for an additional item to equal or exceed the $20 Groupon I had. I have a cold and was coughing a little bit. I was covering my mouth and didn't think I was being too loud, but one of the women working there tonight offered me a cup of water. Something so simple, and yet it was the kind of customer service that just stands out. I can't think of the last time someone in a retail location offered a customer a cup of water to help with a cough. I gratefully accepted the cold water and continued browsing. Both of the women working there would check on me occasionally (I was doing laps), but weren't annoying at all. Then when I went to check out, the other young woman was super friendly and helpful.
