I was "poached" at this ultra years ago- walked and and said I was new but wanted to try eyeliner, she proceeded to sell me the most expensive eyeliner and said it was a necessity. I told my friends who corrected me I haven't been back for years because of that experience. However, I wanted to give it another shot! Ordered online for in-store pick up. Even though I checked each item before leaving, it was only after unopened up each box when I discovered one item was a bait and switch. Not only was it the wrong product hiding in the box of the product I bought, it was also a used product. I reached out to customer service about it and provided photo evidence of the bait and switch, but they were unwilling to refund me. I would have to drive back to the store for someone else's mistake and I would not be compensated at all for the trouble. Won't be ordering or shopping here again. Buyer beware! Scheduled a hair cut kind of last minute & luckily they had an opening with Iris. The hair cut started at $47 plus we added a blow out for an extra $21. I was able to let Iris know what I was looking for, I'm pretty low...like looowwww maintenance with my hair--yes, I'm mostly just lazy. She provided the face framing layers & checked in with me with the length before cutting. Throughout the haircut she confirmed with follow up questions just to ensure it's what I wanted. I appreciated it, I'm not a hair stylist & sometimes I think I'm using the right verbiage so her confirmation was reassuring. Soooo many times I've said something & then it comes out differently than what I expected. Overall, a super chill experience. I didn't have to break the bank. I come here all the time for order pick up. I completely forgot to place my pick up order so I took my list and shopped in store today at around 5:45ish. The one time I decide to do this at this location and it was the worst experience. The first aisle I stepped into, I'm just looking for what I need and this girl stops so obviously at the end of the aisle and just stares at me for what felt like forever. To the point where I look over and said Hi with an awkward smile. After that initial interaction, everywhere I went...there she was. I'm sure they have people that steal all the time. Despite other reviews, I was very lucky to have a fortunate experience with hair stylist Angelica who really was patient with me. I booked my appointment same day around 8 AM for some curls. I arrived to my 1:15 PM appointment 25 minutes late and she was so chill waiting for me (I called to let them know I was late of course). She didn't rush my appointment either. At the checkout counter there was only one girl and another worker walked up saw there was a line and didn't bother to help check the people in line out. I still had to spent 3 more dollars to get the coupon and I ended up spending 12$ more cause the cashier didn't point me to where cheaper products were for me to get closer to the coupon. They need to work on their customer service skill and take the stick out just because they are good at make up. read more

The one time I come here to Ulta is exactly why I go to Sephora. First of all, I'm a teen so I was looking for a lip gloss for myself. I went with my Grandma and she waited outside. Nobody asked of if I needed any help and I didn't really see many people but luckily I knew where the brand was. An eyelash bothered me so I just went to the mirror in the store and just minding my business and this store employee just straight up looked at me and just stared. It got to the point where I felt uncomfortable and just had to smile politely and go back to what I was doing. It was disturbing. She didn't even ask anything like if she wanted to help or anything like other employees say when you come. I went back to looking when all of a sudden she came up to me. She first was like "So, you can't open up boxes of lip product so can you stop? How many of them have you opened" I opened one to see the shade and not try it on. I've seen lots of adults do the same thing and she just focused on me. That was a mistake. I didn't even try it or anything. I know people steal things but she could have said it politely. Partly my fault but the way she said it was rude. I then said that there wasn't a shade I wanted and wanted to have a tester. I misunderstood her when she said, "Do you have the gloss?" I said "I'm sorry?" I didn't really understand because I thought she talked about the tester and said there wasn't one. She said "Okay so we can't make the tester if there isn't the gloss. If there is only one gloss we can't make it a tester because we need it for customers to purchase" her attitude was so off. She followed me and I gave her one of the glosses. There was still the same shade of the gloss for customers. She said "Oh so there is one for it." She didn't smile she was very rude and it really didn't make my day. Tldr: Pezhmun was super friendly but not communicative, so I didn't get what I originally asked for. Went back for a re-do, which also didn't go well at all. First appointment was on Monday 8/5 with Pezhmun. I was late, but he was super gracious about it - which I really appreciated! He was super friendly the whole time and we alternated between chatting and working in silence while I read a book. Unfortunately that's where the positives ended. He didn't use the reference photos I showed him from the last time I got this balayage done, bleached and dyed a few inches higher than I asked, didn't check in or let me look at any point in the 4 hours I was there. I also didn't know it would take that long because last time I had this service done was about 3 hours and he didn't say otherwise until the end when he said it normally takes him 6 hours and that he would've liked to do smaller sections so that he wouldn't miss so much hair. He also blow dried my wavy hair with a brush and told me that it's actually straight. He said he could fix it another day and it would be 30-45 minute max. When I got home I found red dye on the back of my shirt and it bled all over my pillow that night. Fix it appointment was on Saturday 8/10 because he said I couldn't come back sooner and he disagreed with me when I told him it was higher than what I asked for and looked to me like my roots grew out instead of having a balayage. He definitely didn't seem happy about it and kept trying to convince me to keep it closer to how he did it, but he did lower the roots when I stood firm. Finally someone else took over to fix the red and reapply the roots. She draped me properly after my shirt got dye on it AGAIN. Instead of the 30-45 minute appointment he promised, the appointment has taken 1.5 hours so far. I wanted to talk to someone at the store but at this point I'm going to be late to my daughter's birthday party. Friendliness aside, it was a super negative experience and there's no way I'd come back to this stylist. read more

Has your wife ever spent 10 hours in the salon? The following is a summary my wife wrote up of the horrible experience she had at this Ulta location. "On Friday, I went to Ulta for a root touch up and balayage. I made an appointment with Loraine a month ago, but for some reason she cancelled it two days before my appointment. She recommended another stylist Desiree, but I said I wanted a master stylist. Loraine said Angelica would oversee Desiree since she was busy also. I arrived at 10:30 AM and they started on my hair. After three, yes THREE rounds of bleach and color, my hair was finally done and FRIED!!! When I saw my hair in the mirror, my heart sank. They had damaged my bangs badly. My 17" long money pieces were now less than 1" short. THEY BURNED OFF MY MONEY PIECES with numerous applications of bleach. There were spots missed with bleach, leaving different color patches, and the overall color was nowhere near what I requested. There's no depth in my hair color and it's certainly not a balayage. You count see the bleach line and inch away from my roots bong only is my hair fried the line on my hair makes it look like it's been at least a month since my last root touch up. I REPEAT: They BURNED OFF my money pieces. It took years to grow. Gone. BURNED THE F OFF. And it took 10 hours for my hair to be in horrible shape than when I got there. My hair was in healthy condition that I worked hard to achieve the past year. Your stylists are hacks at best. My husband paid for the bill not knowing I had issues with them. After we got home, and I was in tears, I showed him the problems with my hair. He was furious that he spent over $200 and it took 10 hours.... for a dime store color job. He's going to dispute the charges with the credit card company. Plus we will be posting our experience on social media. I will never go back to Ulta. I am never greeted at the store and today I waited about 10 minutes in line while multiple employees were going in and out of the register area. I made a hair and makeup appointment to go to a formal event. When I got there I had fresh hair, only blow dried, not styled in anyway. The girl, Grace, who was performing my services starts pinning my hair back without hot tooling it first to smooth out my hair. I asked her if she would hot tool it and she said oh I'll curl it after I have it pinned back. I did not want that because my hair was going to look bad and it was already starting to. The girl walked away and I pulled another stylist over and asked her if it was normal to just start pinning up hair without styling it first and I told her I don't like this and she's not listening, it looks bad. The stylist said she would tell her. When my stylist came back she immediately passed me off to now another stylist and just says "you can follow her". I never asked for another stylist, I just wanted my hair hot tool styled first but whatever. The new stylist, Azam, takes over and she decided to start with my makeup first. Immediately she comments on the fact that I had not waxed my face so the makeup won't sit right because I have hair. I have blonde hair, I don't worry about the peach fuzz on my face. At this point I'm very overwhelmed and should have just walked out but I struggle with my hair and makeup myself so I stayed. She finished my makeup and she went way too warm with the contour so I was slightly orange and my eyeshadow was much darker than I asked for. She did not go off of the photo I showed her for inspiration. So now I'm thinking okay I'm going to have to fix that at home. Now she's starting my hair and thank god, she pulls out a hot tool to style my hair first. She begins to start curling my hair and now she decides to point out I need a haircut. She says "bad hair cut, bad hairdo". She then held up my hair to show me my split ends. COOL another insult. I informed her I have a haircut scheduled for next week and she's trying to convince me she can do it right now. I said no, it's fine I have a haircut scheduled with my hair girl. I should have really walked out now but I can't do an updo myself so I stayed. As I'm sitting in the chair the general manager (I didn't get her name) came over to the stylist area and I hear her ask the original girl who was supposed to do my services, Grace "did you not have any clients today?" So Grace turns to her and gets quiet to presumably tell her her version of what happened and the manager gets this big disgusted look on her face, rolls her eyes and looks directly at me. Word of the wise, don't talk crap about a client that is sitting 5 feet away from you and make it obvious that you're talking about them. Now I'm about in tears at this point. Never in my life have I received such horrible customer service. Finally Azam "finished" my hair. It again, looks nothing like the inspiration photo I showed her. So now I need to fix that too when I get home. When I go to check out at the cashier, I asked the girl to bring over a different manager than the one who was rolling her eyes at me. The manager comes over and now I'm in full tears I explain to her everything that I have gone through. I'm not sure what I was expecting but all I got was a small discount on my services and she said she would follow up with everyone. The fact I had to pay at all was pretty wild in my opinion. Whatever, I won't be back to ever receive services here. It was a horrible experience. I probably would not go back to even shop there at this point for my products. I got treated by Pezhmun today! Sadly I am moving, otherwise I would have tried to re-book with him. He is a fun personality and was very communicative. Would check in with me and let me know how my hair was progressing. There were little hiccups but he owned up to it and corrected it before I even noticed which means he really cares about his art and how I would feel. Honestly if i was to re-book it would probably have been like well past September or maybe the 11th of November. I dunno but Gracias to Pezhmun!!!
