I'm not sure who is hiring all these girls with horrible attitudes but they really need to get replaced. I went in there the other day and I asked a girl a question in regards of some clippers and her response and attitude was not it. I called today to ask about some other clippers and the woman who answered the phone was rude to where she gave me the response and I just clicked. I had an awful experience at this Salon Centric a couple months ago. When I walked in the store, there was no customer service or ANY type of help if that makes sense. Most girls were standing around looking bored & miserable. The rude girl's name is Megan. The unhappy blonde, who is apparently a manager! On September 14, 2022 at 2:50 pm I went to the El Toro Lake Forest salon centric. I usually don't prefer going to the store because I always get really bad customer service/Mean girl vibes. Yesterday when I was at the store I got the things that I needed. I was checking out with Alyssa M L. She was being passive-aggressive telling me I need to be at this register, as the other employee told me I need to be at a different register. As I'm checking out I'm looking down at my phone replying to a client, she's done checking me out so I say thank you and I leave. I get back to my salon suite which was 15 minutes away and I realize that they put a broken conditioner in my bag, this conditioner had hard conditioner dried up and hair all over it. I look at the receipt and they charged me for a conditioner that I did not put in my bag or did I want to purchase. I called the store back and I explain the situation she not once did she say sorry, she told me you need to come back to the store to return it. I told her that's a little bit out of the way I have an appointment coming up and I would prefer her just to refund it, it was her mistake. So I call the salon centric I prefer to go to in Tustin, next to my apartment. The ladies there are way nicer so I go out of my way to go to the salon centric next to my apartment because the salon centric off of El Toro, Lake Forest I have had bad experiences every single time. I explain the same situation to the girl on the phone at Tustin and she explains to me maybe the lady is thinking that I stole the conditioner because they've had a problems with that which I understand that! I wish the place in Lake Forest would've explained that instead of just being rude and passive aggressive. The Tustin location gave me the SalonCentric district manager's number (Gina) and I text her and let her know I need to talk to her about what's going on. My client that was supposed to come ended up canceling so I had time to go back to the Lake Forest location to return the conditioner. I drive back to return this $20 conditioner that I did not purchase or put in my bag. I walk up to Alyssa M L. who checked me out in the beginning and I said hi I'm the lady that called to let you know that I need to return this conditioner that I didn't purchase. Not once did she say sorry and she's giving me a dirty look. She really needs to learn some customer service skills! She should've said I'm so sorry for giving you a returned/damaged/contaminated item. But instead she gave me a dirty look and made me feel like I'm the one that made the mistake. I'm not a mean girl, I don't understand why I'm getting mean girl vibes I'm always polite I'm always saying thank you. I think this whole store at Lake Forest off of El Toro needs to have a big meeting and talk about customer service skills because as a hairstylist and you can look up my account we spend a lot of money at these stores. Something needs to be fixed it's not right to treat people like this. read more

The girls here are so nice and helpful! I really feel like Salon Centric has stepped up their customer service game in the last year. Recently, Ashley was so helpful when I called and they were out of stock of something I had been waiting for and she helped me by placing an order right over the phone. The convenience of not having to physically go in to prepay for something was so nice. And my product was in store the next day, so fast! There's another girl there with short blonde hair (sometimes fun colors in it too) who is also super nice and always so helpful. Thanks girls, for being awesome! This store is always extremely well-stocked and the staff is amazing. I don't know if it's because I've been in there three times a week for the last few years but the girls here greet me every time I walk in and make pleasant conversation until I walk back out. I've never seen them anything short of helpful and patient so I have no idea what these other reviews are about- Jessica is always awesome and Megan is unfailingly sweet. Even when I'm short with my pre-coffee morning greetings, they make me feel welcome. I've seen them field some crazy questions and customers (admit it, anyone could be one on the wrong day and we all have those once in a while ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) but they always seem to deal with it well. I'm equal distance between here and the Dana Point location (which also has awesome employees FYI) so I'm geographically unbiased in which direction I would rather head. I accidentally bought the wrong color and she was so put out that I returned it for the correct color. Absolutely no personality and so cold and rude. Not a good customer service store. The only reason I go here is because it's close to my house otherwise I would like to take my business somewhere else. I called them to let them know that I was one minute away and if they can just give me 5 minutes and they said no. Even so I stopped by at 6:01 and of coarse they did not let me in. AWFUL customer service. Some skinny brunette girl with her hair up in a bun (who looked awful I might add) was working as cashier at the front and was plain rude to me from the beginning. When I asked a question, she didn't even make eye contact with me and was dragging her feet to help me look for a product. Long story short, I was so disappointed with the customer service I received that I left and ended up driving down to the one in Dana Point. At that store, their customer service was nothing short of excellence. This happened last Saturday (3/19/2016). If you don't have good people skills, why seek a job in customer service? And if you're working in the beauty industry, try looking a little more professional rather than looking like you just rolled out of bed. You are not representing your store very well. I wish I took down that skinny brunette girl's name, but she needs to fix her attitude. Judging by the previous review I'm sure someone working there will flag this but I will keep posting if that is the case. Your staff should really consider how you are representing the name Salon Centric because judging from the experience I received there, I would never recommend this place to anyone. I just moved to Lake Forest and I was in need of some supplies. This was my first visit to this location and I was very pleased with the service provided. Sometimes when you go into a professional beauty supply you may get subpar customer service because they assume you already know what you are doing. This was not the case when I visited this location on 4/6/2016. I found my necessary supplies and was just browsing for myself when I saw a bucket of OPI nail polish that had a confusing promotional sign. I asked one of the girls there, I believe her name was Megan, what it meant and she replied honestly saying it was unclear and no one had taken advantage of the sale yet but she was super positive and was totally willing to try to see what the signage meant. I picked out the nail polishes and she rang them up and figured out what the signage meant and explained it to me. I worked 8 years of customer service and I can tell you one of the most frustrating things is not having an answer for the customer but Megan went above and beyond in this situation and handled it perfectly. She was also smiling and happy the entire time I was in the store and greeted me as I walked in. When I came here to write this review I was shocked to see another review that was so negative against her because my experience with her was really positive. read more

I've been coming to this Salon Centric location for years, I am always greeted with a hello and a smile. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The store is nicely merchandised, organised and clean. I walked in yesterday to purchase a specific product but the person before me had just bought the last one off the shelf. I asked the Manager, Megan, if they had any more in the back, she happily looked it up in the system and stated that they had received a delivery of 12 in a small box. She dug through the stockroom looking for the box that I needed. I felt a little bad as I could here her moving all the stuff around, so,I told her, "No problem, I can come back later once they had merchandised the stock" but she insisted it was in there and she would find it and she did! So, I bought the entire box of 12 and thanked her for the extra effort and was able to make a sale to my client back at the salon. That's what great customer service is all about!
