This was my second visit to The Artistry and having the privilege of Priscilla doing my eyebrows! I went with the combo/microshading per Priscilla's suggestion after sending her a photo of my eyebrows beforehand. The studio is beautiful and smells amazing too. Priscilla asked if I wanted anything different done this time as far as the style of my eyebrows and she took her time doing an outline before showing me in the mirror how they would look before the actual filling in began. I found this place through Yelp and decided to give it a try based on all the great reviews. I scheduled with Karyme and it was a great experience. She seemed to be super attuned to detail and had great communication. The artistry must have not wanted my business this day. I was so excited to finally come here. I was able to snag an appt with Priscilla, who had nothing but amazing reviews everywhere online. The day finally came, and she called to push back my appt 30 mins. No worries, I get that appts can run behind. I had drove quite a bit to get there. I found the studio and parked my car. As I'm about to unbuckle my seatbelt, I get a text that she had to cancel my appt due to health issues with her dog. The tears started streaming down my face. I had finally put myself first, arranged childcare, budgeted for this, and was just so excited to be there. I don't know why it felt like a gut punch. Maybe because she told me 5 mins before my scheduled appointment? Maybe with the two reasons for the rescheduling it made it seem like she just had something better to do? Or maybe because they made me confirm my appt twice beforehand? The list goes on.... I immediately asked for a refund to be told "give me a day to do it". It was not until I protested that she was scrambling to refund me the money same day. As a former teacher and someone who works in customer service currently, it's no secret that life happens and sometimes we have to make hard choices. But to not have anyone be able to take over her appt and her doing the bare minimum to rectify the situation is absolutely absurd. She should have been doing everything in her power to keep me as a client (even if I didn't want to be-it's just what you do!!) Ok, I am overdue on leaving a review for this place. So I came across this place on Instagram and fell in love with Priscilla's work. I'm a fan of all things natural so I knew that at some point, I wanted to get my brows micro bladed here. By the luck of the draw, she needed a model for one of her apprentices so naturally, I sent in my pics in hopes they would choose me. Well, they did and Karyme did my brows. Microblading update after 2 years. Two years ago I came in for my first microblading appointment and I was very happy with the level of service and attention Priscilla provided. A few weeks later I came back for the touch up appointment and again, was very happy with the results. Now, two years later, I came back in for another touch up. Didn't want any shading so the photos are only for microblading. I don't wear make up so I figured shading would make things look unbalanced. Anywho... Over the two years I've been away, I've continued to follow Priscilla's website and have been consistently impressive with her continuous growth and development. Her skills were always good but the photos she's been posting since 2017 have grown in depth, variety, and talent. Her list of services has also continued to grow which shows she is invested in educating herself and not limiting her business. That shows me, as a customer, that Priscilla not only takes herself seriously as a professional, but also her clients seriously as well as their results. I received the email last year notifying everyone that prices would be increasing in 2020. I'm posting on behalf of my Mother-In-Law, because she's so tired of trying to get Priscilla to take ownership of her mistake, and do the right thing; fix it for FREE!! Not try to squeeze another $150 out of someone for a touch-up when most places offer one courtesy touch-up. They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, so they speak for themselves (included below). However, I would also like to share her unpleasant experience, and mine as well as I attended a portion of her appointment. Priscilla lacks professionalism. She quoted her a price pre-covid, then when she was able to schedule an appointment Priscilla increased her rates. It was not the increase that bothered her as much as how curt Priscilla responded when she questioned it being as though $550 is a bit high. The inquiry was met with aggression saying she'd already rescheduled her appointment and was bothered by my MIL for her questions. Having said that, from the reviews she seemed to be worth it and it is your face after all! During the numbing process I left, but together they FaceTimed me after drawing her eyebrows on and immediately I commented that her right brow needed to be longer (extended towards the bridge of her nose). Priscilla got defensive telling me she measured them, and they were spaced correctly. After we hung up, she confessed to my MIL that she agreed and lengthened it. Priscilla completed her eyebrows. When she left I thought the shape was nice and expected a much different result than received. I myself have had my eyebrows done several times, so the first thing I found odd was her recommended healing process. Once her eyebrows were no longer scabbed over, my MIL asked me if it's normal to be missing pigment to which I replied, yes it can pull off in some areas, but that I hadn't personally experienced it. That is the purpose of a touch-up...a touch up is supposed to be just that. Not a second chance to correct a massive first mistake. Priscilla sent an image (similar to the one below) basically saying it's like a magic trick that all of the sudden on week 5 your microblading pigmentation will reappear and encouraged her to wait until then. It's now week 7... Ultimately this resulted in requesting a refund to which Priscilla refused stating forms were signed acknowledging no refunds would be given, everyone's skin responds differently, and that my MIL was welcome to get a touch-up. Clearly paying more was not an option being as though they were so messed up the first time. She wasn't willing to roll the dice and gamble that the second time would result in a better outcome. The bottom line is services were not rendered and Priscilla should be ashamed of herself for such poor business practices. This is an art and someone is entrusting you with their FACE. You should have integrity, honor and pride in your work. I would NEVER leave a client like this. Personally if I'm signing my name to something, it better be damn near perfect and this is anything but. In a nutshell, if this is your desired result, or if you wish to spend 7-weeks of your life fighting for what's right with no remorse or result from Priscilla, I'd recommend going to her. ***for clarification, most of her eyebrows are the hair she already had.
