I enjoy the food that is served at the Waffle House. However, I am concerned about the health conditions at this location. The waitresses do not want to wear a mask. I had to request that they wear one while serving my food and they complied when approaching my table. They do not wear a mask for their other patrons. They are not exhibiting the seriousness of the pandemic and may unknowingly pass the virus to other patrons. The chefs in the place are wearing masks and I am grateful for their effort. read more

This is our go to place after we spend a night at WIND CREEK Hotel and Casino. Some of our favorite things to eat are the Texas Toast bacon egg and cheese sandwich with hash browns and the all star breakfast which includes 2 eggs any style, a waffle a choice of grits or hash browns and a meat of your choice. Can't go wrong with any of those dishes. The food is great and the service is even better. They do a magnificent job. My wife and I always leave full and satisfied. Most of the waffles on the menu are good and the breakfast combos are very filling. Price wise they are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Why oh why don't we have one of these in New Jersey? Waffle House is basically an Ihop with a smaller menu and better food. First things first, this place is tiny. No, seriously - it's about the size of the dining car on a train. If you come here on a busy morning, expect a wait, since there's only ~10 tables. The kitchen is in plain sight, and a good number of seats are cleverly positioned against the kitchen area with little cutouts, so waitstaff typically don't need to walk far to get your food. This means service is stupidly quick, food is delivered right after it's finished being cooked, and you can see your meal sizzling on the hot griddle from beginning to end. The food was great, as was the coffee. Obviously the waffles are a must-have here, and they're nice and airy without being dry or bland. The hash browns are actually properly browned and crispy, and they even had apple butter for the biscuits. Prices were downright cheap as hell, and I don't think my entire meal cost more than $10 with tip (and I ordered a bunch of stuff!). The only downside I can think of is that the portions aren't that huge, but they'll still have you leaving the place with a full belly. And hey, when a full meal costs less than ten bucks for freshly prepared and tasty food, there's not much to complain about. I just wish this wasn't ~2 hours from me, or I'd be here every weekend. read more

From the second I came in no one greet us. We sat down and it took the waitress Jocalynn 10 minutes to bring us our coffees. Was at Sands Casino last night, Thursday June 5th, 2018....left the casino like midnight and it didnt look good to grab a late snack...as we drove back to our Air B&B we see a Waffle House, we both looked at each other and said let's just suck it up and go there, well we walked in and we were pleasantly surprised it was a really nice, very clean place, we were immediately greeted by a girl behind the counter who quickly showed us to our table, even though the table appeared clean she quickly wiped down the table, introduced herself as Rebbecca and took our drink order, we had a really nice meal but what made us the most happiest was the service we recieved from our waitress....she went out of her way to make us comfortable and to make sure our order was taken in a timely manner and it was CORRECT. You may have heard things about Waffle House, and I have. Still, they are open all the time and it was late so...why not? I've never been to one before and that night was the night. Man...the waffle was good and the home fries, too. The peanut butter waffle was just a plain waffle with peanut butter chips melted on top but it was very good. Good crispiness outside and a bit chewy on the inside...melted peanutty goodness oozing over the side. The home fries were awesome, topped with mushrooms, onion, and peppers, and had a crispiness I enjoyed...simple enough. Service was friendly and quick. Waffle House is your quintessential American diner at heart, I had the skirt steak....the steak itself was abit on the weak side in terms of size and cut but it was still good. It was prepackaged and not fresh meat but its to be expected with the ridiculously cheap pricing. We stopped in on our way over to PA late night, if you are in the area and looking for a late night meal definitely stop in! I would prefer a WH over an IHop or any other fast food breakfast chain/establishment, I prefer the smaller size and layout(shared space kitchen/dining area). My wife loves Waffle House. We were supposed to go to Bike Week in Daytona Beach this March, but had to cancel because our oldest dog wasn't doing well. They had butter to offer for those who don't want to compound the bad-for-you (but delicious) Waffle House food with heart-stopping, artery-blocking, horrible tasting, BS margarine! Usually I have to embarrass my wife by bringing my own butter, but I forgot to bring it this time. They also had what EVERY breakfast serving restaurant should have... WARM SYRUP!!! Why is this not a law yet? Pancakes, French Toast, and Waffles are meant to be eaten HOT, not cold. When you put cold syrup on these items, they immediately cool off. DUH!!!! I know that this is silly, but I love the Waffle House, and since there are none in Philadelphia, I have to be content with eating their wonderful food when I am traveling down south. Oh, but wait, there's a Waffle House in Bethlehem Pa! I know that is very far to go for a simple breakfast, but one night I was jonesing for eggs over medium, country ham, home fries with onions and jalapeno peppers (smothered and scattered) raisin bread toast with apple butter, orange juice and a decent cup of coffee. Off I go for a Waffle House fix. With every mile, I get hungrier and hungrier, I reached there in about 40-45 minutes and there it was, looking just like the others down south. I went inside and sat at the counter and I did notice that the waitress didn't have that confident, southern drawl peppered with a touch of sarcasm that I truly love, but she'll dho in a pinch. I ordered my favorites mentioned above and in minutes the magic appeared before me. I ate slowly, savoring every bite, wishing my brother was her beside me because he loves the Waffle House too. I grew up in the south where there were a ton of Waffle Houses but ever since I moved I haven't seen one since. I took a special trip here and was highly excited to go out and get a good breakfast. Being a breakfast place I was expecting it to be amazing. First off walking in I was surprised with the way the seating was set up in there. You can choose from about 6 or 7 booths that lined the outside or sit at the counter. There were only two booths left when we walked in. The one closest to the bathroom and the one next to that. We didnt want to sit right next to the bathroom so we picked the next booth.Underneath the table was piles of eggs and the shredded hash brown...but it was either that or sit next to the bathroom. The waitress came back asked if I was ready and I told her I needed a few more min. She seemed annoyed, then hovered by our table glaring at us until we were ready to order. I felt rushed. I had sausage, egg, and cheese on a biscuit, with hash browns and a side of bacon. Our food was up fast which was great. The biscuit sandwich was a little greasy but it was absolutely delicious. The only thing was they just threw a slice of cheese on the top that wasnt melted and still cold. The hash brown was okay. It looked like it was going to be great it was in this clever little circle, the top was golden brown but as I dug into them they were greasy. Then my side of bacon HORRIBLE. Burnt and hard as a rock. Overall it wasnt a great experience. The place was small and dirty. The menus were sticky. The server was pushy and acted as though me taking my time annoyed her. The food was mediocre. It definitely was not the amazing breakfast I expected from somewhere that specializes in breakfast. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING FOR A SECOND VISIT.
