The smell of fresh coffee is everywhere and a positive vibe is present. We sat down quickly in the farthest booth, our preference. I had a nice view of the patrons, the street, and the kitchen. I noticed the amount of dessert on the counter, and later learned they were made in house, and if I am not wrong, this place is known for their desserts. We ordered a pretty standard diner breakfast and everything was perfect. As usual, and not to say that I am complicated, I had my order customized, and the server graciously accommodated me. After all, great service means a bigger tip. We were very satisfied. I got to visit a true diner, have a good meal, get a feel of the community, and the chance to help that community with my business. After all, diners, just like breweries, are traditionally American institutions for community exchange, much like the town's inn or the pub, if we were in the British lands.

I ordered French onion soup and the Golden Gate special (1/4 lb burger and fries). The soup was savory and the burger was juicy. The fries were a bit undercooked, but $6.50 for a burger and fries is a great deal. Pickup and delivery are both available. I've been to this diner several times now and never had a bad experience. The food is unique and delicious and service is always fantastic. My most recent visit I ordered Huevos Rancheros. It consists of grilled corn tortillas topped with refried beans, chorizo sausage, and Monterey Jack & cheddar cheese. It's accompanied with over-medium eggs, smashed avocado, and classic papas. I could have did without the beans, but other than that this dish was a winner. My favorite item on the menu is still the Sriracha Bowl. The tortilla bowl is filled with classic papas, pork carnitas, scrambled eggs, bacon, diced tomatoes, Monterey Jack & cheddar cheese, guacamole, jalapeños, scallion, and sriracha. Billy's has indoor and outdoor seating. Pickup and delivery are both available. Sriracha Bowl - 8.2 Huevos Rancheros - 7.8 Food - 8.0 Service - 8.4 Value - 8.0 Restaurant score - 81

Coming from New Jersey, the diner capital of the world, Billy's surpassed our expectations. We visited on a busy Saturday during lunchtime and had to wait 15 minutes for a table. It was worth it. My wife ordered Yanna's omelette and I ordered the vegan pancakes topped with strawberries and bananas with a side of sausage. My wife loved her omelette. Lots of spinach and feta cheese. Huge portion of potatoes on the side. My vegan pancakes were made with Almond milk. You have the option of ordering how many pancakes you want to eat. Based upon advice from our waitress, she suggested two since they were big. Good choice. Of course, we had coffee to wash it all down. As coffee snobs, the coffee was very good. The service was excellent and friendly. The prices were very reasonable. Believe it not, this is the first diner I have been to that offered vegan pancakes. For people with dairy issues, this is a great thing. The restrooms were clean which probably tells you the kitchen is clean. There is plenty of parking in a public lot across the street and ample street parking.

Today I did just that, and I'm happy I did. The girl who helped me was very friendly and helpful. It was almost like a house inside, dark wood all throughout and the kitchen nearly looked like a residential kitchen. This was $4.70 and had 2 big slices of the Jersey meat on it with egg and plenty of cheese on a pretty solid Kaiser. I was shocked at the cost for such large slices of meat on there, and the roll makes or breaks the sandwich for me and this passed the test. Video is going out tonight, but it definitely Didn't Suck

This is a family run business and you can tell by the excellent staff and friendly atmosphere the moment you walk in. We actually ended up talking to a former local who said he used to come here all the time and another local at the counter who was very friendly and funny. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with egg, potato, onion, and cheese on a roll and a side of has homefries with onions. The sandwich was big and delicious. The homefries looked like typical homefries I've gotten elsewhere, but for some reason these were soooo good. One of the best tasting breakfasts I've had.
